My Pov
After a few more hours I finally made it to Cerulean City. I pedaled around trying to find the Gym, remembering what it looked like in the anime. Soon, I found it.
"Well, Lovie. This is the Cerulean Gym. If we win against the Gym Leader, we'll earn a Cascade Badge." I said. Lovie's tail started to wag.
"Vui!" she chirped. I dismounted off my bike and Lovie hopped out of the basket. We walked into the Gym and I was amazed. There was actual fish in the tanks, like Angelfish, starfish and others. I walked around marveling at the aquarium before I accidently bumped into someone.
"Ouch!" a voice yelped. I stumbled back and saw I had bumped into Violet. Lily and Daisy were next to her. "Like, totally rude."
"I'm really sorry! I was so absorbed into how beautiful the aquarium was, I didn't pay attention. Completely my bad." I said.
"Well, I guess that's understandable. Our aquarium is one of the best in the world." Lily said.
"Obviously." Violet said.
"Like totally." Daisy added. The three sisters then started giggling in a way both me and Lovie got weirded out.
"So, what are you doing here?" Daisy asked.
"I was hoping to earn a Cascade Badge." I said. All three of them got these tired looks. I bet they didn't have any Pokémon left but Daisy's Goldeen.
"Sorry to break it to you, but we don't have any Pokémon left." Lily said. I knew it.
"We just got be like three times in a row from these Trainers from some nowhere town called Pallet." Violet said. Three? That means Ash hasn't gotten here yet. Maybe I'll run into him.
"Well, I can wait for a while. I'm in no hurry." I said.
"Say, what's your name?" Violet asked.
"Winnie." I answered.
"Well, Winnie. Do you like, have any Water Pokémon? Since you seem to really like our aquarium, you must have at least one, right?" Daisy asked.
"Actually I don't. The way I've traveled I haven't really be near any lakes or rivers and I don't have a Fishing Rod of any kind." I said.
"Wait here." Lily said. She left for a brief minute and then came back with a Fishing Rod! "Here. This is one of our spares. We don't use it and it's just like totally taking up space." I took the rod and examined it.
"Thank you!" I said. I looked down at Lovie. "Come on, Lovie! Let's go fishing!"
"Eievui!" Lovie exclaimed. I ran out of the Gym and went to the forest area that was nearby. Soon, I managed to find a river. After several hours, I managed to catch possibly ever Water Pokémon possible. The only one I decided to keep was my little Poliwag, Tad. I looked up Poliwag in my Pokédex.
"Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokémon. The spiral on its belly is its internal organs seen through its thin skin. It is better at swimming than walking." the Pokédex said. This was Gen I so Poliwag wouldn't evolve into Politoed until Gen II. I didn't want to have to wait that long, so if I came upon a Water Stone, Tad would become Poliwrath. I noticed it was starting to get dark so I headed by to Cerulean City to sleep at the Pokémon Center. While I was there, so guy offer me a Magikarp for five hundred dollars. The poor thing looked sad and sick so I bought it and sent it to Professor Oak. Thanks to the fish, Zippy and Dot got in some extra training. I turned in for the night.
Next Morning
I got out of bed and decided to introduce Tad to everyone. Tad was a little scared, but everyone gave him a warm welcome to the team. I decide to go back to the Gym. Maybe the girls got some of their Pokémon back. I went through the Gym, looking for Lily, Violet or Daisy but couldn't find either of them. That's when I heard loud voices coming from the pool area. I went there and saw not only the sisters, but Ash and Misty too! Daisy spotted me.
"Oh, Winnie! Good timing." she said.
"For what?" I asked.
"Well, Misty here is willing to challenge Ash for his badge, but let's make it interesting." Violet said.
"Interesting how?" me, Ash and Misty all said.
"Well, Winnie also needs a Cascade Badge and since she was here first, Misty can battle her instead. If Winnie wins, both she and Ash can have a badge." Lily said.
"Huh?!" Ash exclaimed.
"No fair! I wanted to battle Ash because he owes me for my bike!" Misty whined.
"You've been traveling with him, right?" Lily asked.
"That means you know what Pokémon he uses, but it I'll bet he doesn't know what kind you use." Violet said.
"You like totally have an advantage." Daisy said. That's right. Misty only revealed her Goldeen and Staryu, but Ash probably didn't realize she only used Water-types.
"With Winnie, you both don't know which Pokémon the other has so that'll make the battle, like, more interesting." Lily said. Not really. I did know what she used and had a counter.
"Fine, but even if I win, Ash will still have to battle me." Misty said. Misty and I took our spots on the floating platforms. "Go, Staryu!" So she's starting with Staryu. I scanned it with my Pokédex.
"Staryu, the Star Shape Pokémon. An enigmatic Pokémon that can effortlessly regenerate any appendage it loses in battle." the Pokédex said. I thought and decided to use Dot first.
"Go, Dot!" I said, throwing Dot's PokéBall. My Paras appeared on one of the platforms.
"Staryu, Tackle!" Misty commanded. Staryu jumped into the air and went into a spinning motion.
"Dot, use Stun Spore to slow Staryu down!" I said. Dot's mushrooms shook and orange powder came from them, covering Staryu just as it hit Dot. Dot nearly fell into the pool, but she stopped herself. Staryu stumbled when it landed due to the paralysis. "Dot, quick! Fury Cutter." Dot hopped across the platforms and repeatedly scratched Staryu with her pincers.
"Staryu, wash the Stun Spore off!" Misty said. Staryu dove into the pool and emerged having washed off the Stun Spore. "Too bad Stun Spore doesn't work in water!"
"Let's see how you like this. Dot, Mega Drain." I said. Dot mushrooms glowed white before a beam shot from the and hit Staryu. After the beam fainted, Staryu fell backwards and its core began glowing. Then, its light went out.
"Staryu!" Misty cried. Dot hopped back to me and I picked her up.
"Nice job, Dot!" I said.
"Paras!" Dot said. I returned her to her PokéBall and Misty returned Staryu.
"All right then. Go Starmie!" Misty said, sending out her last Pokémon. I scanned it with my Pokédex.
"Starmie, the Mysterious Pokémon and the evolved form of Staryu. Its central core glows with the seven colors of the rainbow. Some people value the core as a gem." the Pokédex said. I never understood why she had the Staryu and Starmie unless she wasn't going to evolve her Staryu. Well, I should be able to beat Starmie with one precise hit.
"Go, Zippy!" I said, throwing Zippy's PokéBall. On the opposite platform, my Pikachu appeared.
"Pika!" Zippy said.
"Huh? Winnie has a Pikachu too?" I heard Ash ask.
"Starmie, Tackle attack!" Misty said. Starmie did the same as Staryu.
"Zippy, use Quick Attack to jump to the other platforms!" I said. Zippy jumped out of the way and hopped from platform to platform.
"Starmie, knock it into the water with Water Gun!" Misty said. Starmie shot a spout of water at Zippy and hit him into the water.
"Zippy!" I exclaimed. Zippy popped his head out of the water.
"Tackle it!" Misty said. Starmie came back around. Wait for it... Wait for it...
"Now! Use Quick Attack to grab it." I said. Zippy shot out of the water and right into Starmie. "Grab Starmie and use Quick Attack to push it into the water." Zippy grabbed one of Starmie's arms and pushed it down. Right before they hit the water... "Thunder Shock!"
"Pi... ka... chu!" Zippy exclaimed before disappearing underwater. Bolts of electricity emerged from the water and illuminated the whole pool. After what seemed like forever, Zippy popped back up and swam to one of the platforms. Starmie floated back up with its core glowing. Then, it went out. Just then, the whole building began shaking. That's when Team Rocket literally busted through the wall. To make a lame battle short, Pikachu sent them flying. After everything settled, Lily held out two Cascade Badges.
"Winnie, Ash. These are yours." she said.
"What?!" Misty exclaimed.
"Come on, Misty. Winnie, like, totally had you beat." Violet said.
"Even if Ash had challenged you, his Pikachu would've, like, totally beaten you." Daisy said. All of us went outside and we're greeted by Brock.
"Oh, Winnie. Nice to meet you again." he said.
"Same here Brock." I said.
"Well, let's get going." Misty said.
"Wait." Ash said. Everyone stopped. "Hey Winnie. Do you wanna come travel with us?"
So, should I travel with Ash and the others? Or should I continue alone?
