Bella - BPOV

A week has passed since our wedding and I couldn't be happier. I have the most wonderful husband in the whole world and I love him very much. Our house is so beautiful and it already feels like home to both of us. Demetri reluctantly went to Volterra two days ago to train with the new recruits. Alec almost had to drag him to the car.

I smile at the memory as I walk to the terrace to find my book. I sit down in the beautiful lounge set that Demetri ordered for me and start reading, but I'm finding it very hard to concentrate. I miss Demetri terribly.

I can feel this pull inside me that almost forces me to get my ass to Volterra. I called Heidi yesterday and she said that it's the mating pull. She said that it's very intense in newly mated couples. Well, she was right about that, it hurts like hell. I can't wait for Demi to come home.

I put my book down when I hear a car approaching. I walk across the terrace and back into the house to see who's there. I smile brightly when I realize Demetri came home early. I run toward him and jump into his arms. He snickers and kissed the top of my head.

Demetri - DPOV

"Did you miss me, tesoro?"

"Not at all, I rather enjoyed the peace and quiet while you were gone."

"Oh, is that right, cara mia? So you didn't miss this?"

I pull her close against me and slowly let my fingertips trail the length of her arms. I feel her shiver slightly and smile in her hair. She lets out a soft, hesitant 'no'.

"Or this?"

I stroke her hair behind her shoulder and let my nose trail the side of her neck, before kissing her mark. She moans a quiet 'no' and grips her hands in my hair.

"Or this?"

My hands travel down her back and grab her ass tight. She pulls me closer, hoping to find some friction. Her answer gets lost in a groan. I can smell her arousal and it's driving me mad with lust.

"Or this?"

I kiss her passionately, while one hand travels down the front of her body down to the waistband of her pants. Her eyes flutter shut and she whispers:

"I missed you so much. I could feel the mating pull the whole time, I hate it when you're not with me. Make love to me, Demi."

Bella – BPOV

Demetri sighs and creates a little distance between us. I look at him questioningly. He kisses the top of my head and says:

"I would love nothing more than to take you to bed right now, tesoro, but we're being sent out on a mission. Aro gave me time to get our stuff and pick you up, but we need to get back to Volterra as soon as possible. I'll make it up to you when we get back, I promise."

I gasp for unneeded air. We're going on a mission, my first real mission. Oh my god, this is so exciting. I run up the stairs and throw a duffel bag on the bed. Demetri joins me with a big smile on his face and starts to put his things into the bag. I stare at my clothes, not knowing what to pack, and sigh. Demetri looks at me and smiles.

"Just take two cloaks and two outfits, tesoro. Wear something comfortable to travel in. I heard Gianna calling the airport to get the jet fully fueled, so we're in for a long flight. We'll get details on the mission when we arrive at the castle."

I nod and put two black jeans and black shirts in the bag. I take two cloaks and also one sweater. Not that I get cold, but I like the cozy feeling. I quickly change into something comfortable, while Demetri closes the duffel bag and carries it downstairs to the car.

Demetri - DPOV

I wait for Bella to lock up the house. I start driving toward Volterra the moment she gets into the car. I'm still bummed by the fact that I had to turn her down. God, I would have loved to bury myself deep inside her. I always liked training the recruits, but this time was hell. I had to leave my beautiful wife behind and the mating pull almost drove me crazy. When we get back from this mission, I'm going to show my wife just how much I missed her.

I look at the villa in the rearview mirror of my car and take Bella's hand in mine. I'm so glad that Bella loves our new home; we didn't leave the bedroom the first few days but when we did, she spent hours reading on the terrace or wandering the vineyard and olive grove. The smile on her face when she does those things is absolutely breathtaking and only makes me love her more.

We reach Volterra in no time and park the car in the garage. One black SUV is standing ready to take us to the airport after the briefing. I drop our duffel bag in the back while Bella waits for me at the elevator. We enter the throne room at the same moment as Alec, Jane, and Felix. I raise one brow at Felix and he shrugs his shoulders.

"Aro isn't telling us anything; he said we had to wait for you and Bella before he revealed details about the mission. I know one thing though: it isn't going to be easy, seeing he's sending all five of us."

The doors swing open and the kings enter the throne room. Aro is smiling at Felix.

"You're very right, Felix. Knowing that this is Bella's first mission, I'm not taking any chances. You will keep each other safe, even if that means sacrificing someone else. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, Master!"

All five of us react in the same manner, but I can see the confusion on all our faces. What for a mission is this? Sacrificing someone else? Does that mean we're going on a joined mission with another coven?

"Marvelous, I expect you're all eager to hear the mission details, so I won't keep you in the dark any longer. I received a rather concerning phone call from my good friend Carlisle and what he told me confirmed the reports from our own scouts in Washington.

Victoria is creating a newborn army with the sole purpose of destroying the Cullens while risking exposure for our kind. She is a serious threat and she needs to be dealt with as soon as possible. One of Alice's visions shows that Victoria and her army will leave Seattle to deal with the Cullens one week from today. Your mission is to help the Cullens and fight alongside them, Carlisle is expecting you. Our joined goal is to eliminate Victoria and her newborn army.

I asked Eleazar to visit you while you are in Forks, Bella. He will be able to identify the nature of your gift. You're already a formidable fighter, but I'm convinced that there's more to you than meets the eye. I expect a full report on Eleazar's findings from you, Demetri. The five of you leave immediately. The jet is fuelled and ready for take-off."

Aro dismisses us with a simple wave and we run to the garage. The SUV is loaded with our bags and Felix gets into the driver's seat. The rest of us get into the car and Felix starts driving toward Florence at high speed. After five minutes Jane breaks the silence.

"I don't understand why we have to go and help those freaks out. No offense, Bella, but they just aren't natural. Why on earth would you say no to the delicious taste of human blood? It makes us strong; we're on top of the food chain. Oh wait, that's why we need to go and help them… They can't win this fight without us, they are too weak."

Bella smiles when Jane continues her monologue and I see Alec rolling his eyes at Felix in the rearview mirror. Jane stops her rambling and scowls when she notices that nobody is listening to her anymore. She slaps Alec against the back of his head and says:

"Tu quoque, Brute?" *

"For fuck sake, Jane, stop hitting me, I'm your brother, not your punching bag. And I'm not Brutus; I would never betray my own blood and you're definitely not Caesar. Stop reading history books and find yourself a husband that you can pester. Maybe then, I will get some peace and quiet."

Here they go again. It's been a while since Alec and Jane had a falling out, but it seems it's that time of the year again. Maybe Alec is right when he says that Jane needs a man in her life. Too bad she has a gift that terrifies the hell out of every male that comes near her. I snicker at the thought and see Bella looking at me questioningly. I pull her close and kiss her hair.

"I'll tell you later, tesoro. We can't risk those two starting a fight and wrecking the car or worse the plane. I don't want to swim to the US."

I see Jane looking at me, frustration and anger are written all over her face. Wait a minute! Is she trying to use her gift on me? Why isn't her gift working on me? I stare at my Bella and realize that it must be her gift that is protecting me without her realizing it. I take her face in between my hands and kiss her passionately. We break apart when the car stops at the airport. When we get out of the car, Bella looks at me and says:

"Not that I'm complaining, but why did you kiss me like that?"

Bella - BPOV

The look on Demetri's face is filled with utter devotion, love, and pride. I would be blushing terribly if I was still human. He kisses me on the forehead and says:

"You're incredible, my Bella. Jane was using her gift on me in the car and you blocked it somehow. Your gift protected me instinctively and that's so incredibly sexy. You're so special, tesoro and you're all mine."

Jane did what? I'm so angry at first that I don't realize what Demetri is saying, but then it sinks in. I have a real gift; it's not just some barrier around my own mind. My gift can protect the man I love from mental abilities like Jane's. That's so awesome. I squeal and throw myself into Demetri's arms. He chuckles as he spins me around. Felix yells at us from the hangar:

"Cut it out, you lovebirds! Get your asses on the plane; we're ready to take off."

Demetri puts me back on the ground and we make our way aboard the jet. We find Jane and Alec sitting on opposite ends of the plane. Oh boy, this is going to be a long flight. Demetri moves over to where Alec is sitting and pull me into his lap. The jet takes off and I notice that Alec is looking at me. He smiles as he says:

"God, Bella, what are you so happy about? You're competing with the sun right now. You're shining almost as bright."

I giggle when Demetri quietly growls at Alec. I put my arms around Demi's neck and whisper seductively into his ear.

"I love it when you're possessive of me, my warrior. If we weren't on a plane, I would show you just how much it turns me on. Can you smell how much I want you right now?"

I can feel Demetri's member hardening underneath me. His eyes turn pitch-black when he lifts me up and carries me to the small office at the back of the jet. He kicks the door closed with his foot and places me on top of the desk. He nuzzles the mark in my neck and whispers:

"You're about to join the mile high club, my little vixen. I'm going to fuck you on this desk while you scream my name over and over again."

I moan in his ear: "Please, I want to feel you inside me, Demi. I can't wait any longer."

Demetri takes off my clothes in a flash as I pull down his pants and boxers. He lifts my legs onto his shoulders and enters my wet center in one swift motion. I moan in delight as Demetri fills me completely.

"Oh god, I've missed you so much, Demi. Can you feel how much I missed you?"

"Cara mia, you're so wet for me and so tight. God, I love you so much. You're fucking perfect."

Demetri starts moving in and out of me and I can feel the tension building inside me. He moves faster and harder with each thrust and I feel that I'm already on the edge.

"Demi, you feel so good inside me… fuck me harder…"

I hear the desk cracking as Demetri slams into me harder and harder. He moves his hand to pinch my clit and my orgasm crashes over me with a magnitude that has me screaming his name at the top of my longs. Demetri roars as he follows me over the edge.

Oh my god, we just had sex on a plane. I pull Demetri close and put my head against his chest. A soft purr escapes my mouth and Demetri pulls me even closer. We get dressed again and walk back to the front of the plane.

Demetri - DPOV

I guide Bella back to our seats and sit down. I pull Bella back into my lap and wrap my arms around her. The look on Alec's face is priceless. I snicker when he says:

"Remind me to never compliment Bella on a plane again; I don't think I can live through such a display twice. I'm traumatized for eternity now."

Felix laughs and says:

"I thought you were accustomed to noises like that, Alec. Your room is next to mine and Heidi's, I'm pretty sure that we're even louder than they were."

"Yes, that's why I had that wall soundproofed centuries ago. If I'd known that Demetri was going to pull a stunt like that, I would have taken precautions. I really did not want to hear that."

"Man, Alec, you need to find yourself a woman, you're in desperate need of a good fuck, my brother."

Alec growls at Felix and turns to look outside. I smile and pull Bella closer to me. I put my nose in her hair and inhale her glorious sent. Bella leans into me and we stay seated like that until we touch down in Seattle. It's time to find the Cullens and get this mission over with.

Carlisle - CPOV

I knew Alice was right when she told me her vision about the Volturi. Aro agreed to help us out without hesitation and with the guard on our side victory was a certainty. Aro gathered so many gifted vampires in his guard that no matter who is sent out here to help us; our enemy will be in serious trouble.

Edward hates the idea of course. His personal vendetta with Aro and Demetri is interfering with his ability to think rationally. He keeps saying that we can handle this on our own, even though he can see in Alice's mind that we won't. We need the Volturi.

Jasper enters my study and together we go over the battle plans once again. We have to discuss them with the guard, but according to Alice, they are going to agree. I look outside when I hear Edward leaving the house and see him running into the forest. I take out my phone and wait a few seconds to make sure Edward is out of hearing distance. I call the number that Aro gave me and wait for someone to pick up.

"Yes?"

Oh no, don't tell me Aro send Demetri to help us. I should have known that Aro would pull a stunt like that.

"Hello Demetri, it's Carlisle. I just wanted to ask at what time you will be landing in Seattle."

"We just touched down at SeaTac. We have a car waiting for us, so we'll be in Forks in two hours. Can you accommodate us or do we need to find a hotel?"

"There is a large cabin at the edge of our land with four separate rooms. Will that be okay?"

"We will take a look at it and decide than. See you soon, Carlisle."

He ends the call before I can respond. Oh god, this is not going to end well. Edward is going to freak out when he notices that Demetri is here. I can't have him attacking a Volturi guard. I look at Jasper and I know that he can feel that I'm worried.

"This is going to be interesting, Carlisle. I'll have Alice checking Edward's future more frequently as long as the Volturi are here."

I nod and sit down at my desk as Jaspers leaves the study to find Alice. I close my eyes and sigh. How is this going to end?

Edward - EPOV

I can't believe that Carlisle called the Volturi. We could have handled this, no matter what Alice saw. Her visions are not reliable anymore. Why can't Carlisle see that? My Bella is in the hands of those monsters, thanks to her stupid visions. I make my way outside. I need to think and I can't do that here. My family's thoughts are just too loud.

I run into the forest and keep running in circles for some time. A few trees get culled in the process; each time my anger gets the best of me. I finally stop running and find myself near the treaty line. I wonder if there's still a tribe member left that knows about its existence. Would someone start a war if I cross this imaginary line?

A noise on the other side of the line pulls me out of my reveries. Someone is approaching the treaty line and the smell coming my way is just horrid. It triggers a fighting stance within me and I wonder who is coming. I snarl when I see Jacob Black walking my way. I never understood what Bella liked about him. As far as I'm concerned, he has no redeeming qualities at all.

"What are you doing here, Jacob?"

"I'm checking that you stay on your side of the line, leech! If you put one toe across that line, hunting season is open. I would love to rip you apart, bloodsucker."

Leech? Bloodsucker? So the tribe still knows who we are. Could the legends be true?

"You and what army? I'm not afraid of you, you're still a boy. Those muscles don't scare me."

"They should scare you. I suggest you talk to Carlisle. You don't want to pick a fight with us. We have no trouble ridding the world of your kind. That's why we exist in the first place. Stay out of our territory if you want to live, or whatever it is you do."

I roll my eyes as Jacob turns to walk away. The thought of him killing a vampire is absolutely ridiculous. I make my way back home and walk into the study to tell Carlisle of my encounter with Jacob Black and to figure out what that boy was on about.
