Chapter 60: I Just Want You

As Angela's thoughts returned to their engagement and what happened in the days and weeks following, she couldn't help but first think about the rest of the night after she ended up proposing, Tony accepted, and they then sealed it with a lustful kiss.

After a week of being apart and wondering if their relationship was over, now that they were engaged, they were both eager to consummate the engagement. No sooner had Angela pulled back from their kiss than Tony had taken her hand and started pulling her up the stairs.

Once they reached the landing at the top, Tony pushed her up against the wall and took her mouth with his as his tongue eagerly clashed with hers.

"Tony," Angela said breathlessly in between kisses. "We don't have to rush. Jonathan is with Peter's family, hopefully enjoying a better ski trip than ours last weekend, and Mother knows better than to bother us tonight."

Pulling back so that he could look into her brown eyes, now dark with desire, Tony smiled and said, "I know. I just missed you this week and got scared that maybe this wasn't meant to be. I love you and want to be with you so much."

"I love you, too," Angela breathed as she caressed his cheek and leaned in for another kiss. Before long, her legs were wrapped around Tony's waist, and he was walking them into her, no, their bedroom, she thought to herself as they both tumbled onto the bed.

Tony's enthusiasm and eagerness seemed to rub off on her as they both started frantically pulling at each other's clothes. Angela quickly had her hands under Tony's long-sleeve cotton shirt and ran them up and down his chest and stomach before pulling the shirt over his head. Leaning in, she started placing kisses all along his collarbone before moving down his chest and taking a nipple in his mouth, biting down softly.

"Angela," Tony moaned as he momentarily lost his focus on the task at hand of unbuttoning her creamy silk blouse. Before he could regain his concentration, Angela's hands moved further south to unbutton and unzip his jeans. Tony lifted his hips slightly, so they could pull them and his boxers off completely.

She immediately took him in her mouth, running her tongue down his length.

"Baby," Tony sighed as he let himself enjoy the feel of her hot mouth and tongue before pulling her back up so he could kiss her deeply.

"My turn," he said wickedly as he quickly finished unbuttoning her blouse before parting it to reveal the lacy white bra covering her small but round breasts. Tony ran his tongue along the lace before pulling it down to give him better access to her dark-colored nipples. He heard Angela moan as his tongue swirled around one and then the other before going in for a little nibble. At the same time, he reached behind her to unhook her bra clasp, and as soon as he had pulled it completely off her, he paused to take a breast in each hand and admire them. A silent acknowledgment that he desired her just the way she was.

Tony quickly moved on to her belt and slacks and helped her pull them and her panties off. Again, his eyes swept over her enchanting body, and with a grateful smile, he leaned in for another long kiss.

"I love making love to my fiancée," Tony said, his voice thick with arousal as he placed little kisses all over her cheeks and jaw while his hand moved further south. She was so ready for him that he knew he wouldn't last much longer.

"Your fiancée loves making love to you," Angela responded huskily as her hand reached down to stroke him before parting her legs. She wanted to feel him inside of her so much.

Tony took the hint, and soon they were both hopelessly lost in their coming together. It was as earth-shattering as always, if not more so, having weathered this latest storm and come out stronger together on the other side.

"Tony," Angela said a little while later as she lay with her head on his chest, listening to the now steady beating of his heart. "I'm so happy that we're engaged. As I said at the ski lodge, it is what I'd been hoping would happen for a long time, even after this past week."

"Me too, Angela. And I know I would have come to that conclusion on my own very soon had Joey's death not been such an unexpected and devastating distraction. I've dreamed of marrying you ever since the Ferguson wedding," Tony said softly.

"You too?" Angela said, a look of surprise registering on her face. "When we were talking that night about 'going down the bridal path,' part of me desperately wanted to admit that it was you I'd just imagined doing that with as we watched Paul and Isabelle say their vows. But then the whole thing with Fred and Ginger…" she finished, her voice trailing off.

"Never mind them. They shouldn't have mattered then, and they don't matter now," Tony said with conviction. "We're together, and we're getting married. That's all that matters."

"On that note, I want us to pick out the perfect engagement ring together," he continued as he pulled Angela's left hand to his lips and kissed the back of her ring finger.

"Oh, Tony, I'd love that," Angela said, leaning up to kiss his lips lightly. "Speaking of weddings, when do you think we should have it? We have your graduation in May, but after all these years, I don't want to wait forever. I would marry you tomorrow."

"I would marry you right now," Tony said, placing a kiss on the top of Angela's head. "But I want us to do it right. When Marie and I eloped, it was romantic and exciting, but we were also very young with no money. Like I said in the judge's chambers in South Carolina, I think I'd like to have an actual wedding and reception. Besides, I think our family and Mrs. Rossini would never forgive us if we didn't have some kind of celebration since they didn't think it would ever happen. So, I think we should do it sometime in the spring after graduation."

"Sounds perfect," Angela said as she caressed his chest. "Tony, there is, I mean, I uh," she continued taking a deep breath. "There is another reason, I don't want to wait too much longer. I know we haven't talked about it much, but would you maybe want to try and have a baby? I know I'm not that young anymore, and it most likely won't happen, but I've thought about it before, especially when we watched baby Clint and with Max's Katherine Ann and, of course, after we lost Billy, but I don't…"

"Angela, stop," Tony said, interrupting her as he took her hand in his and brought it up to his lips for a kiss. "You're not the only one who has thought about it. I would love to have a baby with you. It's one of the reasons that I wish I'd gotten my act together sooner."

"I don't want to wait any longer than we have to. We should definitely start trying on our wedding night," Tony continued as he looked at her with dark eyes. "But, I also want you to know that if it doesn't happen, I will still be the happiest man in the world because I'm in love with and get to spend the rest of my life with the most beautiful and wonderful woman, and we have been blessed with the two most amazing kids in Sam and Jonathan."

"Mom, mom. Are you there?" Jonathan said as he tapped Angela on the shoulder. "You were starting to tell us about Nana's visit, and then you just stopped."

"Sorry, I got a little distracted," Angela said as a blush spread across her cheeks. She stole a quick glance at Tony, who was looking at her with a bemused smile on his face. She had a feeling he knew exactly where her thoughts got sidetracked.

"Yeah, why didn't any of you ever mention that Mona's mother was still alive before she showed up at our door? Sam asked, shaking her head. "I've been wondering that for years."

"Oh Sam, I'm sorry," Angela said, chagrined. "Looking back now, we should have at some point, but Mother and she were so estranged that I didn't figure that Jonathan or I would ever see her again. That's why I started writing to her so that we could at least maintain some kind of relationship. I never dreamed that she would actually decide to make the trip to meet Tony once I wrote to her about being engaged."

"I wish I remembered her," Katie said with a sigh. "I know she came back again right after I was born, but she died not too long after that, right?"

"I wish she'd had a chance to see you grow up. Just as I'd wished she'd been able to be a part of Jonathan's life," Angela said sadly. "But I felt I had to respect Mother's wishes, and from some of what Mother has said over the years, not to mention the stunt she pulled when she did meet Tony, it's probably better that most of our correspondence was through letters."

"Oh yeah, she really put you and Dad through the wringer, didn't she?" Sam said as she remembered how tense things became around the house once again. Thankfully, it didn't last very long, and it didn't seem to do any permanent damage to her dad's and Angela's relationship.

Tony shook his head because he, too, had been completely shocked when Angela mentioned that not only was Mona's mother still alive but that she wanted to come for a visit to meet Angela's new fiancé. He'd kept his temper in check, though, as Angela explained why they never talked about her and why she'd never come to visit previously.

Sam was right, though. 'Nana' had upended the happy and blissful world Tony and Angela had been living in since their engagement. At first, she had seemed happy for the two of them, and Tony, who could usually tell when someone was lying, pushed that intuition aside because he knew how important Nana and her approval were to Angela.

But what had ultimately come out of the prenup fiasco was the fact that it was obvious that he and Angela just wanted to be together and didn't care about the material trappings or other assets that they had amassed, separately as well as together, over the years. Tony didn't think he'd ever forget the exchange in their bedroom with Angela's "I know what's best for me, and it's Tony" and his "I just want you" confirmation.

Sure, they'd then missed out on Nana's millions when she'd died, having been cut out of her will, but they both knew that money couldn't buy happiness. And they had all the happiness they needed.

At least until they had to tackle the next issue they didn't initially see eye-to-eye on, when Jonathan started looking for his first real job…
