Hey everyone and welcome back. Before we start I just want to say that I'm sorry I've been gone for so long, I must confess I haven't been making the time lately to sit down and write. I also know I stopped this story at the worst possible moment, in the middle of a battle. That was wrong of me and I'm sorry. I've recently gotten back into writing and I want to try and finish this story as best I can and also give you guys what you deserve, great Pokemon Battles. I hope I don't disappoint, especially considering I still have doubts over my ability to write battles.

Now to the main event, I present to you the conclusion to a battle you've been waiting nearly a year to see. Enjoy.

The first big battle of the Stralia Region's Pokémon League was intense. Currently Bonnie had a strong lead over Iris, creating a bad image for the champion of the Unova Region. However, they were both still on their first pokémon meaning it was far from over. Iris was determined to take back the battle, not only because it made her look like a weak champion, but also because she wanted to be the one to defeat Ash Ketchum and prove once and for all that he was a fraud.

"Flamethrower," ordered Iris desperately.

"Evade," Bonnie countered.

Iris' Dragonite shot as many flamethrowers as it could. Despite the harsh sun increasing both the size and strength of the flamethrower, Dedenne was so small that it kept evading. Iris had to do something before Dragonite ran out of power. She had an idea. Dedenne's greatest strength was its ability to evade. What if she took that away.

"Dragonite take to the sky," Iris threw an arm up in the air.

Dragonite flew up and waited for the next command.

"Now, use Ice beam and imprison Dedenne in a square made of ice," Iris knew that if she merely fired Ice Beam at Dedenne it would evade. She needed to put Dedenne into a situation it couldn't escape.

Dragonite started creating a square shaped prison of ice to prevent Dedenne from escaping. Dedenne did his best to avoid capture, but everytime he ran for an exit, Dragonite blocked his path by creating a wall of ice. Soon there was no place for Dedenne to run. He was trapped in a walled prison of ice. Dedenne tried to run up the walls, but the ice was too slippery. There was nowhere for Dedenne to go.

"Now, FLAMRTHROWER," ordered Iris with an evil look in her eye.

Dragonite flew down to the ice prison and let out an intense Flamethrower at the top. Dedenne was forced to take the attack head on. It was so intense that smoke covered the whole arena. No one knew the outcome of the fight until the smoke cleared.

Dragonite was still standing and ready for what came next. The fire had melted the ice prison. All that was left was an unconscious Dedenne with black singed fur.

"Dedenne is unable to battle. The round goes to Iris," announced the referee.

"As it should," gloated Iris with her hands on her hips.

Professor Oak smiled. They were one step closer to defeating Ash and those that were loyal to him.

"I was afraid this would happen," stated Clemont from the waiting area. "If Professor Oak hadn't helped, Bonnie might've won."

"Maybe, but the battle isn't over yet," interjected Ash. "And something tells me Bonnie isn't going to take the defeat of her favourite pokémon lightly. Something tells me she will be out for vengeance."

Ash was right, the defeat of Dedenne had put a fire in Bonnie's eyes that no one had ever seen before.

"Dedenne return," ordered Bonnie. She looked at the pokéball with pride. "You were fantastic. I bet there aren't many who'd believe you'd do that well."

"Quit stalling and get on with it," Iris interrupted. "Or are you going to give up because you've realised you don't stand a chance against me?"

"Not a chance," Bonnie shot back. "Don't think you've beaten me yet. Dedenne might be my favourite pokémon, but he's not my strongest."

"Then show me what you're made of, or I might just forfeit out of boredom," taunted Iris.

"With pleasure," Bonnie revealed another pokéball. "Tsunatypus go."

Bonnie's pokéball revealed, the mighty Water/Poison type known as Tsunatypus. It's razor-sharp teeth, claws, powerful tail and poison dripping spurs made all locals excited as to what was to come. Visitors to the region looked on in confusion.

"What, is that?" asked Misty.

"I have no idea," answered Kenny.

"It's the final evolution of the water starter Platipes," Todd pulled out his camera and started taking pictures.

"How do you know that?" asked Cilan.

"Didn't any of you research this region before coming here?" asked Todd.

"If you didn't that wasn't a smart move," interjected Alain. "Not only do the local trainers have home field advantage, but they can surprise us by using pokémon we've never seen before."

"Well, I'm sorry no one else did their homework before coming here," said Serena.

"I did," said Paul.

"So did I," said Trip.

"Me to," said Sawyer.

"I sure as hell wasn't going into the Grand Festival with no knowledge on this region," added Zoey.

"And I was hoping to do some site seeing while I was here," said Todd. "As a photographer, it's important I know which native pokémon are safe to approach."

The Anti-Oak squad had all agreed to thoroughly research the region before visiting, as it would give them an advantage over the traitors.

"Well maybe some of us wanted to be surprised when they battled so they could have an actual challenge," stated Misty making excuses. "The rest of you have made it too easy as you know what to expect from the native pokémon."

"Don't be so sure," interjected Alain. "From what I've read the pokémon of this Region are incredibly powerful. You won't be able to beat them by just having a type advantage. To beat a pokémon of the Stralia Region, what you really need is skill and I have a feeling that the trainers of this region will be amongst the most skilled we've ever seen."

"Then Iris shouldn't have anything to worry about," added Serena. "There's no way someone like Bonnie can beat a League Champion."

"Don't be so sure," added Trip. "Iris' arrogance nearly cost her the round. If she continues to underestimate her opponent, she could very well lose."

"Geeze Trip whose side are you on?" questioned Cilan.

"I'm just saying we should be careful. They have the home field advantage and a greater knowledge of the region's pokémon. If we're not careful they could take us out before we have a chance to fight back." Trip feared he might have given away his allegiance.

"Either way it couldn't hurt you to be a little more supportive," stated Misty. "We need to remember why we're here. To prove that Ash and those that support him are a group of no-good dirty cheaters."

Back on the field Iris was amused by Bonnie's second choice.

"Is that supposed to scare me?" she laughed. "What even is that?"

"I'd tell you, but where's the fun in that?" quipped Bonnie.

"Well considering you tried to fool me with a Fairy type last time, I'm just going to assume you're trying to fool me again by making me believe Dragon Type moves will be effective when they actually aren't," stated Iris. "Sorry little girl, but you won't fool me twice."

"You're the fool for thinking I'd use the same strategy twice," thought Bonnie.

Iris pointed. "Dragonite Flamethrower."

Dragonite shot an intense stream of fire at Tsunatypus.

"Extinguish it with Surf," ordered Bonnie throwing an arm in the air.

Tsunatypus created a giant wave, which it then used to surf across the battlefield. The wave was so large that it easily extinguished the Flamethrower despite the strength it had gained from the intense sun. Dragonite was soon engulfed by the wave, having been caught by surprise. Water wasn't normally effective against a Dragon Type, but due to the battle against Dedenne, Dragonite felt more pain then normal.

"Now freeze the wave with Ice Beam before it can escape," ordered Bonnie.

Tsunatypus jumped from the wave and shot it with Ice Beam. The entire attack was frozen with Dragonite trapped inside.

Iris couldn't believe it. She'd been fooled again.

"Guess this round goes to me," claimed Bonnie.

"No it hasn't, a round isn't over until a pokémon faints," stated Iris angrily.

"Something tells me this battle is over. Your pokémon's frozen solid and Dragon Types are weak against ice moves. Even if your Dragonite manages to escape, something tells me it won't be able to battle," stated Bonnie.

Iris didn't want to admit it, but Bonnie was right. Even with the hot sun of the Stralia Region the ice would take a while to melt. Dragonite's only chance was to thaw out, but it had likely taken too much damage from the Ice Beam and would faint the moment it got out. Iris was furious. Even though they had only lost one pokémon each in a three-on-three battle, how could one of Iris' strongest pokémon be defeated by an amateur trainer. Iris could not let Bonnie win.

"Dragonite what are you doing? Get out of there and keep fighting," demanded Iris.

Dragonite could hear Iris' yell from inside the ice and started doing everything it could to escape. It tried moving its arms to break the ice, it even tried to melt the ice with Flamethrower, but neither worked. The last thing Dragonite wanted to do was let its trainer down.

The Ice around Dragonite started to crack and before long it broke apart revealing Dragonite lying on the ground. Dragonite tried to keep fighting, but it was too weak, it collapsed to the ground and passed out.

"Dragonite is unable to battle," announced the referee. "The round goes to Bonnie and Tsunatypus."

"Yes," exclaimed Bonnie with a clenched fist.

"Don't celebrate just yet," interjected Iris who returned her Dragonite. "I still have two pokémon left and there's no way I'm letting someone like you beat me."

"You said that before and I've outsmarted you twice," stated Bonnie.

"Believe me, you outsmarted me for the last time," declared Iris, showing another pokéball. "If I had to guess, that ugly thing is a water type right?"

Bonnie said nothing. She didn't know how she could answer without making it perfectly obvious that Iris was correct.

"Just as I thought. Well, hopefully this will teach you what happens when you try and make a fool out of me. Emolga go," Iris threw the ball revealing the pokémon that resembled a flying squirrel.

"Trying to overpower me with an electric type?" questioned Bonnie.

"It's the best way to get the upper hand in a match, everyone knows that," stated Iris.

"A good trainer also knows that there's a lot more to battling then just having a type advantage," stated Bonnie. "To really win a battle you need strategy."

"Perhaps, but believe me, no strategy will save you from my Emolga," said Iris before giving an order. "Use Discharge."

Emolga set off an electric attack that covered the majority of the arena.

"Evade," ordered Bonnie desperately.

Tsunatypus did it's best to avoid the attack, but bolts of electricity were firing everywhere and unlike Dedenne, Tsunatypus was a big creature.

"Not so easy to dodge now, is it?" gloated Iris.

Before long, Tsunatypus was hit by one of the bolts, then another, and another. Thankfully Emolga couldn't keep up the attack forever and the bolts of electricity stopped. Tsunatypus was still standing, but Discharge had done a lot of damage. If Bonnie wasn't careful, she'd be down two pokémon.

"Still think you have a chance of winning?" asked Iris smugly.

"This battle isn't over till it's over," countered Bonnie.

Iris crossed her arms.

"Typical kids, they never know when to give up."

Bonnie knew she'd have to change her strategy if she stood any chance of winning the round. Bonnie had a feeling that her Tsunatypus exceeded Iris' Emolga in strength and defence, problem was Emolga had a type advantage and better mobility, which was proving to be a difficult obstacle to overcome. Bonnie needed to find a way to gain control over the stadium. Normally she'd prefer to be fighting in a water stadium with Tsunatypus, because it was at its best when it was swimming. Bonnie also knew that would be worse in this instance, because the entire stadium would be one big conductor for Emolga's electricity. In instances like this Bonnie would merely freeze the stadium with Ice Beam to stop the electricity conduction. Bonnie had her answer. Freeze the stadium.

While there was no water for her to work with, Bonnie could easily freeze the stadium with Tsunatypus' Ice Beam and hopefully, this would allow Tsunatypus to gain greater speed and mobility.

"Jump and use Ice Beam," ordered Bonnie.

Tsunatypus leaped into the air and shot an Ice Beam at Emolga.

"Evade," ordered Iris.

Emolga flew out of the way just in time. The Ice Beam hit the ground partially freezing the stadium.

"Just what I hoped you'd do," thought Bonnie smiling.

Bonnie needed time. Time, she feared she wouldn't get if she merely tried to freeze the field. Therefore, she planned to freeze the field by making it appear that she was actually trying to attack Emolga. Bonnie continued ordering Tsunatypus to attack Emolga with Ice Beam. With each attack Iris ordered Emolga to evade, allowing Bonnie to freeze another portion of the field. Before long, the entire field was covered.

"What exactly are you trying to accomplish?" asked Iris. "Emolga's too quick for your silly little Ice Beam."

"Who said I was trying to hit Emolga?" responded Bonnie.

Iris looked at the ground and realised what had happened. The entire field was frozen.

With Iris distracted, Bonnie countered.

"POISON TAIL!"

Before Emolga could react, Tsunatypus lept into the air and knocked Emolga out of the sky. Emolga slid across the ice, finding it difficult to regain her footing. Iris ordered Emolga to take to the sky, but every time she stood up, she sliped over.

"Fine forget flying, use Discharge," ordered Iris with a clenched fist.

"Tsunatypus stay low," ordered Bonnie.

Emolga sent another barrage of electricity across the stadium. Being unable to stand, she was having difficulty aiming, and so because of this most of the electricity was shooting into the air and away from Tsunatypus. Iris had a solution.

"Aim at the ground!"

Emogla shot its next Discharge at the ground. Iris was hoping the ice would work as a conductor, but this wasn't the case.

"That trick would work on a water field, but not on an ice field," stated Bonnie.

Iris went so red that if she stepped foot on the ice, she'd probably melt it.

"You just think you're so smart don't you?" shouted Iris angrily.

"Well, my brother is an inventor," stated Bonnie smugly.

"Looks like you forgot about this region's heat," stated Iris. "This ice won't last long and as soon as it melts, it'll be one big conductor."

"This battle won't last long enough for that to happen," declared Bonnie. "Tsunatypus, use Surf."

Tsunatypus charged at Emolga, using the ice to help it gain speed. Before long another wave was created by Tsunatypus and it was heading towards Emolga.

Iris didn't have time to counter. She thought about using discharge again, but Bonnie could easily order Tsunatypus to jump off the wave and if the wave was conducting electricity with Emolga inside, Emolga would take a serious amount of damage. There was another move Emolga could use, that would hopefully prevent Tsunatypus from attacking. Iris just hopped Bonnie's Tsunatypus was male.

"Use Attract," ordered Iris desperately.

If Tsunatypus was male, this attack would cause it to fall in love with Emolga, making Tsunatypus hesitant to attack. Emolga tried standing for the attack, but again the ice caused her to fall over. Emolga was helpless as she was engulfed by the wave.

There was nothing Iris could do. If she ordered Emolga to attack she'd only hurt herself.

"Jump and use Ice Beam on the wave," ordered Bonnie.

Tsunatypus jumped and froze the wave. Iris looked on in horror as her Emolga suffered the same fate as her Dragonite. Emolga was frozen in ice. Iris didn't know what to do. She could recall Emolga and choose her final pokémon, but Emolga would still be frozen when she was next used, which would leave her vulnerable.

With Iris unable to make a decision, Bonnie decided to end it.

"USE HYDRO CANNON," yelled Bonnie.

"What?" exclaimed Serena from the stands.

"No way," added Kenny.

"How did that little girl teach one of her pokémon the strongest Water Type move?" asked Misty.

"It's not that surprising," commented Paul.

"Yeah, every final evolution of a starter Pokémon can learn them," said Zoey.

Emolga was helpless, as Tsunatypus shot an intense blast of water in her direction. The impact of the water was so intense that it obliterated the ice and sent Emolga crashing into the stadium wall behind Iris.

Iris ran to her pokémon.

"Emolga, please tell me you're alright," pleaded Iris.

"Emo," sighed Emolga weakly before passing out.

"Emolga is unable to battle. The round goes to Bonnie and Tsunatypus," declared the Referee.

"Yes!" exclaimed Bonnie.

Bonnie couldn't help but feel proud of herself. If she could defeat just one more pokémon she'll have beaten a League Champion and be one step closer to clearing Ash's name.

Iris returned her Emolga and walked back to the stadium. Iris had fire in her eyes, she was angry that she was losing, but impressed by Bonnie's battling.

"I hate to admit it, but you're a lot better than I thought," admitted Iris. "Your pokémon are strong and you have good strategies. But it all ends, NOW."

"What's Iris doing?" asked Misty from the stands. "We're supposed to be beating them not complimenting them."

"They might be supporting a cheater, but I feel Iris knows it's important to give credit where it's due," suggested Cilan.

"Even I have to admit I'm impressed," said Serena. "I travelled with Bonnie through the Kalos Region and I didn't predict she'd be this strong."

Iris stepped on her side of the field to choose her final pokémon.

"You've fought well, but like most trainers, I've left my best for last," she said raising a pokéball. "And there's no way you're defeating this one. Haxorus GO."

Iris threw the ball revealing a large Dragon Type that stood on two legs. It was covered in pale green and black scales, had sharp red coloured claws on its hands and feet and had two razor-sharp double-edged tusks protruding from both sides of its mouth.

"Uh Oh," exclaimed Bonnie. She had a feeling that her last two battles had been child's play compared to what was coming.

"Looks like Iris' Axew has evolved," said Ash watching from the waiting area.

"This is bad," added Gary. "I've read about Haxorus and something tells me it'll be just as tough as Dragonite, if not tougher."

"Not only that, Haxorus is Iris' favourite pokémon and she likely devotes more time training him than her others," stated Ash.

"But Bonnie can still win? Right?" asked Dawn.

Clemont stood next to Ash.

"Ash, please tell me Bonnie can still win this?" he asked, concerned for his sister.

"I'm not sure Clemont, but she's gonna try," answered Ash.

Bonnie sure was going to try. No matter what, she had to win.

"Tsunatypus, Ice Beam," ordered Bonnie but her pokémon didn't move.

"Did you forget that any pokémon that uses Hydro Cannon needs to rest on its next turn," asked Iris arrogantly.

Bonnie was speechless. She could do nothing but stand in horror as Iris called her next attack.

"Haxorus use Dragon Pulse."

Haxorus opened his mouth and fired a purple shockwave directly at Tsunatypus, who was helpless, as the attack hit its target.

With an evil grin Iris didn't want to give Bonnie a chance to retaliate. "NOW BREAKING SWIPE!"

Haxorus charged at Tsunatypus, hit it with it's tail and sent the regional starter into a nearby wall. Tsunatypus fell to the ground defeated.

"Tsunatypus is unable to battle the round goes to Iris and Haxorus," announced the referee.

Now both Iris and Bonnie were down to their final Pokémon. Bonnie was now regretting not waiting till the end to use Tsunatypus, as he was her strongest pokemon. Her Regional Lopunny could use Ice Beam and would have a strong advantage with its jumping abilities, but something told Bonnie it wasn't nearly strong enough to beat Haxorus. Kookatacker and Raichu weren't great options either, as neither could use any fairy, ice, or dragon attacks. That left Liosea. As a Water/Ice type it had a strong advantage, but it was also very risky. Many dragon types could use electric moves which would put Bonnie at a significant disadvantage. While Bonnie knew that might not be the case with Haxorus, she didn't know if it was worth the risk.

Bonnie considered surrendering, but remembered what they were fighting for. If they wanted to clear Ash's name, they needed to defeat Professor Oak and those that stood with him. Her friends were counting on her to defeat Iris and she was not going to give up.

Knowing it was her best chance she threw her final pokéball.

"Liosea, GO."

The native sea lion creature appeared before them.

"What's that a regional Dewgong?" asked Iris.

"No, they might look similar, but this creature is only found in the south of this region," answered Bonnie.

"Whatever, something tells me that like Dewgong, it's still a Water/Ice type, because I read that the south of this region is where it's cold and as a Dragon Master, I'm aware that ice is one the few weaknesses to Dragon Pokémon. Many trainers before you would use the same strategy and they always lost. It was a smart choice, but painfully predictable," stated Iris.

"Well this time the outcome will be different," Bonnie pointed right at Haxorus. "Use Ice Beam and give it all you got."

Liosea shot a freezing cold beam directly at Haxorus.

Having seen this move a hundred times before, Iris showed little interest in her counter. "Show this kid a real move with Dragon Pulse."

Haxorus countered with a shockwave of purple energy that cancelled out Liosea's Ice Beam. As predicted by Ash, Iris' Haxorus was both well trained and powerful. If Bonnie wanted to win this she'd have to do this quickly.

"Now use Breaking Swipe," ordered Iris wanting to end this.

"Evade," countered Bonnie.

Sadly, there was little Liosea could do. Not only was Liosea slower then Haxorus, but being on dry land put the creature at a huge disadvantage. Haxorus hit Liosea with its tail sending the creature across the stadium.

Bonnie knew Iris had the advantage, while Liosea could likely match Haxorus in both strength and defence, it wasn't nearly fast enough to keep up. Then Bonnie remembered something that could help Liosea speed up. The stadium was still partially frozen from the battle against Emolga. In addition to thriving in water, Liosea also thrived on Ice.

"Liosea, use the ice to move around and start circling Haxorus," ordered Bonnie.

Liosea did as instructed and started circling Haxorus at intense speed.

"Now use Ice Beam," ordered Bonnie.

"Jump into the air," countered Iris.

Haxorus jumped out of the way just before the circling Ice Beam made contact.

Iris laughed.

"That was smart, but not smart enough. Now Haxorus USE OUTRAGE."

Haxorus plummeted towards Liosea and started attacking the creature without mercy. Using this move was a risk, as a successful Outrage attack would cause Haxorus to become confused, but Iris had a feeling this attack would be more than enough to defeat Liosea. Unfortunately for Bonnie she was right. Once the attack had ended Liosea fell to the ground out cold.

"Liosea is unable to battle," announced the Ref. "The match goes to Iris of the Unova Region."

Iris smiled smugly as if she knew this was what would happen before the match began.

Bonnie on the other hand fell to her knees with tears in her eyes. Not only had she lost the match, but she had let everyone down and Ash now had fewer supporters to battle against the traitors.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed the battle, please review and tell me what you think, all feedback is greatly appreciated. And I must once again say thankyou to katanaeyegaming for helping with this battle, their help is greatly appreciated.

If anyone's curious as to why I had Bonnie lose when she's allied with Ash, my answer is simple. In pretty much every Betrayal Fic I've read Ash and his friends destroy the competition with very little effort. I wanted to mix things up a little here by having it that the traitors are actually going to be difficult challenges to overcome, because I feel it adds tension. But don't worry, Bonnie's defeat won't be in vein as our heroes are going to do everything they can to put the traitors in their place.
