A/N: So apparently this chapter is the longest one yet. There had to be some details that will be useful in the future. At some point there is a cut to the past but I have not used any indication other than the horizontal line but I think you will not be confused.

As always I do not own anything except this story and my OCs.

Chapter 6: Acquainted but not really

As Takeo got inside the house he noticed that the stand for the saline bag was inside his eye range. He looked to the right and saw Tao and Sara eating…ramen. It had to be instant ramen, because that was the only thing that Tao knew how to cook without burning the kitchen. If only Frankenstein knew what he attempted to do at the kitchen…

M-21 noticed the scene as well, Tao and Sara both appeared to be eating quietly without as much as looking at each other. The air wasn't electrified so there couldn't have been a fight before they came. On the other hand, M-21 was a tad worried that Tao might have slipped and let himself open to her weird abilities that nobody knew how to address. He eyed her suspiciously as he was feeling that she still had many things to reveal to them; he just didn't know if those revelations would be bad or good. So he decided to proceed with caution.

"Hey Tao, how are things here?" he asked in a careful tone. His eyes shifted between the two heads that had already gotten up and ready to greet them too; well at least Tao's definitely would.

"Hey guys! You are finally here; what took you so long?" he asked as he was slurping his ramen. He seemed cheerful enough. She was just staring at them and saying nothing.

"Oh we walked home actually. You know how M is sometimes" answered Takeo who had picked up M-21's suspicion and decided to let him be. He would participate in this spy routine too but only mildly, he could see though where M-21 was coming from.

"Aw M, if you wanted a romantic walk in the park you should have told us" Tao smiled as he teased his comrade.

"Oh shut up!" he answered playfully "Now, how about you introduce me to the woman there, who seems to have lost her voice and even greeting us?" M-21 said as he looked at her straight in the eye. There was a determination in his gaze and his two friends could feel that. Sara felt it too but instead decided to hold her gaze equally as determined.

"Hello" she said to him. She then smirked and decided to take a risk and put a speculation she had, to the test. "What is your name?" she asked with a suggestive tone and a pointed look.

And she actually got her assumption confirmed as she looked at the man with the straight grey hair turn his face expression from closed seriousness and suspicion to surprise and spite. When she asked Tao, earlier this day, who else was living in the house she didn't get much information, but she heard his name for the first time and if she was honest with herself, she felt intrigued as to why that man used his code – if it was a codename – even after he fled the Union as Tao mentioned. She didn't mention anything back then though. But now that he was there...

She then smirked a little more; so she was right, the 'M' wasn't just a nickname, it was his Union codename or maybe short for said codename. She knew that; after all she had spent a fair amount in the custody of the Union and could distinguish those things. From the appearance of it, it looked like not only he did not like the code but also the fact that she got him worked out using that bit. She was even more curious now though as to why he was using it since he wasn't in the Union anymore and he so clearly despised it.

Meanwhile in those long and dreadful seconds after Sara's question Tao and Takeo were standing still waiting to see if M-21 would finally snap and attack her. The provocatiton was obvious in her voice. As if she knew that thing would rile him up. To say something like that to his face smirking like that, it was obvious that they would have to interfere sooner or later. If they weren't worried about bloodshed they would have been amazed of how quickly she decided to rile him up, successively so.

"Forgive me" was what was heard next. Sara got up from her chair and bowed slightly to M-21 if only to show her sincere remorse about what she said. M-21 himself was still dumbfounded from her sudden taunt that it took him a second to realize what she just said to him. Did she really sincerely apologized a few moments after she provoked him on purpose? What kind of weird game was she trying to play?

"What?"

"I apologize. I knew it would hurt you but I couldn't resist my instinct to defend my ground since you were looking at me very defiantly. I didn't mean to create trouble between us"

"How…I mean did you use your physic energy on me?" asked M-21 as the seriousness was returning to his voice although different this time; more concerned and skeptical.

"No! I'm not a psychic! And regardless, I am way too weak to do anything like that! I wouldn't use that on you! Ever!" her eyes were conveying that she was most regretful and she was begging for forgiveness and trust.

'Well, the trust will not come easily' Takeo thought as he was watching M-21 focusing on her. It looked like she had a mood swing but they couldn't be sure. 'She has a weird way of defending her ground'.

"You are...kind of weird. I understand though. I understand where you come from Sara" he paused there for a moment. He felt weird forming this statement but he realized that it was true. "I was suspicious and snappy to people around me too when I first got away from the Union too".

Tao, who had come closer to Takeo by now, whispered "He is still snappy from time to time".

It was meant for Takeo but he had a feeling that it came loud enough for M-21 to hear it too. The only indication that he did was a slight turn of his head but otherwise nothing. He continued instead, to look at Sara.

"How is it that you wouldn't use it on us? You said that with quite the spirit and you sounded so sure"

"I…how could I hurt the people that took me in and helped me get better?" she said as she raised her hooked hand to make her point. "Besides, Frankenstein threated me and you know how convincing he can be…" she added with a meaningful eye.

The three of them knew very well what she meant and decided to let it go for now.

At that moment there was a message in Tao's phone.

"It's Boss. Apparently he will call us and he wants for us to be there" he then looked at Sara considering of how to say that the call was meant only for the three of them. But then again, could they leave her all alone? Did they trust enough even for something as simple as that?

Takeo got to speak before anyone else and suggested that he would be the one to stay in the kitchen to "supposedly" prepare something decent for dinner while the other two would be talking to Frankenstein. And so it was settled. Sara didn't say anything; and she didn't have to. She knew that it wasn't really her place to make requests... Time would tell if she could ever be in that position.

As Tao and M-21 went to the computer room, Takeo found the opportunity to study the new guest in an environment different that the helicopter.

"So Sara" he started as he made his way to prepare some pasta "how old are you?" he had his back turned to her and for several seconds he didn't get an answer.

Just as he was ready to turn, she answered "I am not really sure. I have spent many years in the custody of the Union and with so much time in a comatose-like-state I think that my actual age would be difficult to define"

"Hmmm…yes you are right. Many of us were kept in tubes or in cryo-genetic stasis so it is rather hard to know the exact age we are"

"You are of the same mess too?"

"Yeah…but not in as bad situation as others were"

"Like M?" she asked, testing the waters. She knew that it was a taboo matter but she just couldn't help herself.

"Yeah…" he said trying to give as few information as possible. He remembered Frankenstein's warnings and wanted to be careful. Still it looked like she had decided to openly fish out data and as he was trained for so many years, he wouldn't let anything else slip past him. "But you are different, right? You don't look like you don't know what is exactly that they did to you" he said care freely.

"Really? And how would you know how that situation reflects on person?" she asked.

"Well…I think we can both agree that I have lived with a guy who is in that very situation and I was trained in the Union so…" he turned over from taking the cheese out of the fridge and looked at her in the eye "I believe I know a thing or two on the matter".

If there was one thing Takeo didn't appreciate, it was others underestimating him. It wasn't something that he despised, for it had proved helpful in so many missions in the past, but he didn't like it when people thought he was just a vein person with long hair and two guns in his hands. He knew very good how to get information from others and read situations and speculate possible outcomes. Ironically he was fooled into believing he had a sister by the one would modified him. 'Really more like a tragic irony' he thought at that moment. 'I am tired of others trying to manipulate me, maybe not the best strategy to show your strength from the beginning, but she needs to see that we are not fools'

Sara nodded indicating that she understood, but didn't continue the conversation on the matter, neither confirmed Takeo's implication. She felt that she had walked straight to a trap. They really were Frankenstein's family.

"So how old are you, Takeo?"

"Twenty-five"

"You look older"

"Yes, work-stress will do that to you" he answered quickly as he was now straining the pasta in the strainer.

"And what is the work you did in the Union? "

"Look Sara, I was modified from the Union. What do you think my work was? You were in the Union and I'm sure they didn't have you to water their plants. You look smart enough so you can pretty much put two and two together and get it. Please if you want to get information, how about you ask a clever question?!"

She actually was shocked at how quickly Takeo's mood changed. He was looking at her with clear irritation. Takeo was on the same boat, as he didn't know what came over him. He then realized that the anticipation to get to know Sara, the caution of letting info slip and not get vulnerable around her, plus all the tension from the last three months…were having the opposite results from what he was hoping to get from this first actual conversation.

"Yes. You have right. I'm sorry, it was a stupid question. I will try not to refer to your Union days anymore. Well at least not with an ill intent" she said in order to calm the situation.

"Yeah…you seem to do that a lot" he commented with a sigh.

"Yes…It is a trait I learned in the Union after…well if someone loses control…" she sighed "It's easier for me to know how much in control the others are so it will be more convinient if I have to defend myself..." she admitted.

"I'm sorry Takeo, I know you are not the enemy or The Union. And I'm not lying when I'm saying that I will try not to do it" she pressed but in the end she realized "You are not going to trust me that easily right?"

"No, but if you were in our situation, what would you do?"

"Hm…Probably the same as you do" she answered defeated and tired.

"You look like you need some sleep" noticed Takeo without any malice in his voice.

"Yeah… I probably should go to bed"

"Goodnight"

"Goodnight".

And just like that she went to her room. She didn't lock the door Takeo noticed. As awkward as it has been, it wasn't so bad after all. And also 'I think I have taken a liking to her' he mused as he was getting the plates ready.

…meanwhile… in the computer room…

"You understand the situation now?" Frankenstein's voice was heard clear in the room; rough and tired but clear. His face was serious and he would look at Tao and M-21 in the eye with determination.

"Yes, Boss. Someone is playing cat and mouse with us. But isn't it a little too obvious?"

"It is. And it looks like the reason I didn't get it earlier was because of my zeal to find Master as soon as possible"

The silence that followed that statement said everything that couldn't be said aloud by anyone.

"So tell me boys, what is the first impression that you had from our guest?" Frankenstein started, as he wanted to change the topic and besides that was the actual reason he called.

"She is distant but at the same time she doesn't seem to like the fact that we don't even want to touch her. She is very observant boss, and she riled M up in the first minute she met him"

Frankenstein raised an eyebrow at that. There were very few things that could rile M-21 up and in the first minute at that. She was proving to be full of surprises. He took a look at the said man and found him looking impatiently at the screen, like he wanted to say something.

"Frankenstein"

"Yeees?" came a much awaited answer that also was a question.

"You instructed us not to have physical contact with her in order to avoid connecting with her. Did she tell you that she does connect with other people physically?"

"No, I sort of got that on my own. She admitted it when she saw that I wouldn't go near her, not even to give her water. She promised to be good. Also she can sense the energy others were emanating throughout the whole building. Basically anything that has high amount of energy living or inanimate"

Tao looked intrigued "Inanimate?"

"She could tell that there was a computer working upstairs but only as much as sense if it was on or off Tao"

"Oh…I see, so she can feel other's presence"

"Yes-"

"But Frankenstein that is different than connecting or whatever her ability is, right?" interrupted M-21 with anticipation of what the answer would be.

"I think so…What do you want to say and why are you asking anyway?!"

"I think she has the ability to connect with others from the distance as well" M-21 blurted looking Frankenstein directly in the eye.

The room became silent again but this time out of surprise. Tao couldn't hold himself asking how in the world, he had managed to get such a conclusion in such short period of being around her.

"It's simple, when I asked her if she had used her powers on me, even though she clearly hadn't touched me, she denied that she would ever use it on the people that saved her and offered her a shelter. And that was it. She looked so desperate to be believed but she didn't offer any other excuse like an inability to do so at a distance. Why did she only refer to herself not have used her powers on me because of choice and not because of inability? Frankenstein, she has to be able to use it from a distance. Maybe she is too weak for something like that but we should be careful"

The scientist on the screen looked skeptical. He actually was quite impressed with M-21. It looked like he had taken the matter of Sara very seriously.

"I understand your point, and it's quite valid but we cannot let her suspect that we know of this too. We want her on our side after all"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Isn't it obvious? If she was able to scout the whole building in her weakened state maybe she could cover a bigger area when she is stronger and get us closer to Master, Muzaka and Raskreia"

"But Boss, would she want to help us until then?"

Frankenstein smirked "I sure hope so. After all we did help her…Do not worry boys, I have not left her roaming inside the house without having done some digging myself"

He then proceeded to bring forth an item that looked like a small spiral-back book. He opened it and took a look at its contents before turning back at them. "This, is apparently a diary from a female helper of the facility stuff, and while the most of this is completely useless to us, the last three weeks' worth of writing do have some information that may shed some light"

Tao raised an eyebrow "Frankenstein, where did you find that?"

"Hehehe…It looks like it was forgotten here after the haste of everyone to abandon the building when Crombel took control of the bigger part of the Union and declared his mad plans" he then looked at M-21 as soon as he mentioned that madman's name; to M-21's credit he didn't even seem bothered. On the contrary he seemed intrigued to listen more. So Frankenstein continued "See, there wasn't anything in the Union files that was even indicating that Sara even exists, not by that name or any other".

He saw the confused faces and smiled to himself. Nothing like a good puzzle.

"The helper, or nurse if you prefer, said that she was transported here with a sole purpose to help the main scientist of a project to take care a 'precious cargo' as it is stated in the pages of the beginning of the aforementioned last three weeks of working here".

As Frankenstein was looking through the last unexplored floor of the building, specifically through the cleaning cabinet, he was reaching his limit. Honestly, how did he end up in here? The whole building didn't have anything on her and neither did the computers. Half storage and half computer facility but yet there wasn't indicated, anywhere, that it had a living human in custody inside it. He turned to leave then, thinking of checking under her bed – or whatever it was he found her on the first day – and his foot hit and dropped an empty mopping bucket on the floor. He cursed but stopped when he saw that something peaked inside the fallen red bucket. Curiously, he picked it up.

It was a book, or something like a textbook. As he saw the first page though he found it to be one of the most unusual items he could have found inside there; a diary. Full of frustration and curiosity he started reading it. He leafed through the pages he tried to find something useful. Most of them had nothing to do with the Union or even with her work. Just personal stuff that he didn't care about. But then he found something.

July 15th

I just visited David and stayed there for three days. They don't let me have enough time off. Looks like the company is in some kind of confusion and I hear that many of the higher ups are fighting with each other. Huh…the whole summer I'm working and they just give me so little rest….

He went even further.

July 30th

Things are a little weird at work. I know I'm not supposed to talk to anyone about what happens to work but it was so interesting. They said that the medical stuff had to stop what they were doing and immediately be transferred to the centrals and the Korean bases to help with the wounded. Looks like a war to me and it scares me in a way, especially since they didn't tell us any further details. I have to leave now.

He then checked the dates. It looked like she was transferred when the First Elder was defeated by Frankenstein and a little before Crombel killed him. It looked like Crombel was already a step forward. Back on the diary it seemed as if she was writing more frequently.

August 2nd

The facility they brought us in is strange. It's not near the part of the world where the wounded are. I and other three colleagues from the medical team of the second division in Japan were transferred here to work with a scientist on a special project. I personally don't see how we are going to work in here. There don't seem to be any decent medical facilities for testing blood, never mind important science projects. From what I learned, there is a head scientist that has been many years in the Union but was not very known. Some say that he did something in the past and lost favor. Oh who cares, as long as he doesn't put me in a situation where I have to deal with torture I'm fine.

August 4th

So much preparation! She isn't even there most of the time. What is he afraid of, I don't know. The project goes well as far as I can tell. Looks like the only things we are doing is taking blood, discussing about side effects of medicine and…wait. They also told us that we cannot write anything in paper or a computer. The only one who is allowed to write down the progress, results and even the existence of this project is the head scientist. He has his own laptop. Also looks like he already has his own team around him, why did they bring us here anyway? So long story short, now I have to hide my diary inside an unused bucket of a forgotten cleaner's room. Thankfully it looks like no one uses the room.

Frankenstein had no idea who that scientist may have been but he had a feeling that he was the one in charge of Sara completely. Also it may seem paranoid to not keep any official record on a project but given the situation and the fact that they were the Union after all, he didn't find it illogical but extremely suspicious; like he was trying to hide it or the results of it. He shook his head. It was too early for speculations, he had to continue.

August 10th

Looks like she is sensing many things if not the most of the environment. The scientists have told us the medic stuff not to come too close. They drug her though in order for her not to react. But it seems weird that all they do is talk to her and even teaching her some things. I don't know what but it looks fascinating. I have never been so close to an actual project. I always do the not so interesting work, like sterilizing the place, preparing beds and sheets and minding injuries of the security or doctors. I think that work has taken most of my time though because I haven't done anything about my personal life. Since we came here we actually live in the facilities too. Communications are not allowed with the outside world and it's driving me nuts! I miss my home, and I want to know how Dave is doing…I hope he is fine and not…

The rest was irrelevant, and the next entry was talking about how lonely she was and how she had missed her family; he skipped that and went onto the next entry after that.

August 14th

Something is not quite alright. The people who have communication with the world say that the company I work for has a new leader and that he is insane. There has to be a war for sure. I'm scared. Conrad and the rest are not telling us anything. Bella, Pascal and I think that we should leave here. I don't like how confined we are. And her…she is not well. She looks like she is having trouble staying in one place. Inside her room she is pacing right and left like a caged animal. I saw her through one of the monitors. I don't know if she is dangerous or not. I hope she isn't. Conrad says she is alright. I personally doubt it. Since he went and talked to her about something she seems restless – even though she is drugged. I just hope everything is going to be alright.

August 15th

Everyone is restless. I think I'm going to burst in tears at any moment. I thought it through and even if we leave in secret there isn't any civilization for miles. A mean of transport would be good now. She is more alert and clear-headed than yesterday; at least that was what I understood when I brought her, her food today. Well I left it down on the floor and left hastily while a guard closed the door behind me. Usually the scientists do that but today morning they all but one left for an emergency. The head scientist was with them and it looked like he was excited, like he was waiting it to happen, that emergency. Maybe I'm reading too much into this but I guess this is what happens when you don't have not even a radio to listen to. I really hope my family is alright.

He took a break and pressed his fingers on the bridge of his nose. He remembered Sara asking about her family when she woke up. Could it be that it had something to do with it? He flipped to the next page and noticed that the next entry was five days later. The date was right in the middle when all had happened. The fighting, his Master…He shook his thoughts away and focused on the entry which was curiously way too short compared with the previous ones.

August 20th

They came back and took her with them. She went peacefully although she looked as she was swallowing a very bitter pill. She had her head down and as per usual didn't come in physical contact with anyone. They said that they are going to inform us of what will happen. The computer guys are looking like they are closing up the system. This time, all the scientists left. I'm afraid. Some of the guards say that the company is in pieces and that –

The entry stopped there. It looked like she stopped writing because something occurred. There were no smears or weird shaped letters though, meaning that she had time to hide it but not to finish her thought. From the looks of it she really enjoyed writing down her thoughts and her every day life.

August 26th

We are leaving…We decided to leave in the night. I don't know if we will be able to pass the guards without been seen. Pascal has gathered enough supplies for the three of us. The guards are worried too. Oh I almost forgot! They brought her here about an hour ago. She is completely drugged- more like in a comatose. Everyone here is worried. They just dropped her and left with the chopper. We put her in her room. The head scientist gave instructions and said will come back when he is available. The technicians are saying that the company can no longer provide for us and maybe isn't going to take us from here. I think the scientists knew that and left us here to die. Nobody is answering from the company and we fear that it is gone due to war. Why does nobody say anything to us?!

The next entry didn't have a date written. The handwriting was shaky.

They have forgotten us! Everyone here is panicked and we are talking about leaving. Someone suggested that we take a truck they have in the storage to leave. Some disagree. I say we should leave. Nobody is communicating with us. We don't know where the scientists went. I think I'm going to be sick. I think we will be able to persuade the rest of the stuff. I'm going to gather my belongings though I don't know when exactly we are going to go. I am in such a hurry to leave.

The panic was evident in the writing as well as the hurry she was in, because apparently she forgot to come back for her hidden diary, for that was her final entry. The rest of the pages Frankenstein searched were blank. He drew a breath. He had many things to think about. It looked like the stuff panicked so much that they all left hastily in a truck of the Union – he would have to check that out later. Apparently they didn't care for Sara. But then again they thought that they were going to perish in the wilderness; they could only think of their survival.

He sighed and got up. Time to wake Haji up and check on the boys.

"I will definitely spare you the details but the main points are that Sara was here, probably removed from somewhere else a little while before the final "regime change" of the Union, then they moved her again for a short period and then brought her back unconscious"

"Why did they take her? And they just left her there?"

"I don't know why they took her yet, but with the Union going down the drain, many projects were abandoned and many facilities too. You know that, you did the research Tao" reasoned Frankenstein from the other side of the globe. "It looks like though they were placing her here, thinking that things might get steady again but…"

M-21 looked at the screen "It went all down the drain as you said"

Frankenstein had a look on his face that indicated he was traveling in his thoughts "Yes…As I said…"

"Err…Boss? Are you alright?"

And he was back with the rest of the world "Yes, I am. Look Tao I will scan the pages of the diary and sent them to you to have a look at them. See if you can find any clue that I might have missed"

"Sure thing Boss" the smile was heard in that sentence. The excitement was clean in Tao's voice; finally some research.

"Oh, one last thing, I will visit you in two weeks' time. I want to be there to see how much she will have recovered" and with that you could tell that the call was getting to an end. Tao and M-21 didn't say anything but just nodded. They wanted to see him in person after so long apart. They didn't question anything.

"So if there isn't anything else…I must leave. Tell Takeo what I told you. We will talk soon. Take care boys" then the screen went blank.

Tao started receiving the scanned pages and was really getting into the investigation process that much that almost missed his friend leaving the room.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm starving" he said as he was opening the door without looking back "I'll go and eat what Takeo prepared"

As he walked in the kitchen he noticed that Sara's door was closed so he assumed she went to rest. He found Takeo just as he was ready to eat but he noticed that an extra plate and set of cutlery were out.

"At least you put a plate for me too"

"Hey, what happened? Did you have a conference in there?" Takeo hurried to fill M-21's plate but the other one stopped him with a hand gesture.

"Don't worry I'll do it" and as M-21 was getting his plate full he actually understood how hungry he actually was. When he was done he sat opposite to Takeo and the explaining began. It didn't take him long to inform Takeo about what new clues had been found. Since there wasn't really an act of interrogation – they thought that this kind of action was a little too much "Union" for their tastes – they had to find info themselves. But they knew that sooner or later they would have to confront her. Things were still pretty awkward though.

"So we have the general picture about her location and a couple of names? And how does that in our favor M?" Takeo, as soon he said it watched his friend smirked in a way that could only be described as similar to a certain blonde scientist.

"It will work for us well, if we know how to use it right. You have to know Takeo that for all the time I was an agent for the Union I was at the bottom, and the only way to survive, being weak and all, in a world run by power, was use what tools you had spare; and my tools were information and influence. Use those too correctly and you can't miss your target"

"And what prey tell is your target my friend?" asked Takeo amused.

"To use her advantage as mine. Isn't she agitating others in order to make them more vulnerable and open emotionally?" after Takeo nodded he continued a little more quietly "Notice how she gets the irritation out of people with small but important things she throws at them? I want to see if the same technic will work on her too"

"So basically you will use your 'special power' as Tao calls it? You will try to agitate her back?" he sighed and continued "I don't know about this… you two going at it? I'm afraid I will have to restrain either of you. And you are ok…How do you restrain her? I am not even sure what she can do…"

"Don't worry. I just want to test the waters. Tomorrow for example, I will stay at home with her while you two will be at school"

Takeo moved his head "Bad idea man; although Tao's work as the headmaster's replacement is piling up on the office and he's been away for only a day..."

"Tomorrow then" said M-21 with a smirk and a feeling of anticipation.

Takeo had already got up and washed his plate "Just don't break anything. Oh and do the rest of the dishes" he finished as he was heading to bed.

M-21 protested weakly "Why me?" and got up to wear gloves.

"Because I made the food, M" was heard the voice of Takeo from behind the door as he was closing it.

It was quiet in the living room. The only sound was the clattering of plates and pots that M-21 was washing. He felt pretty calm right now…

"Excuse me?"

'So that was the strange presence that I felt coming. Is she making herself known or is she emanating more energy as she is recovering her strength?'

He acknowledged her without turning "What are you doing here? Weren't you sleeping?"

"Yes, but I wanted some water"

He stopped what he was doing, put the gloves aside, got a glass from the cabinet and filled it with water; the whole time without looking at her. In the end though he had to face her as he was giving her the water filled glass; and he saw her face, peaceful and her hair…a little messed up from the sleep. What a strange image that she was. He almost forgot that her hands touched his as he was giving the water and so he took them away way too hurriedly that the glass almost fell. It was fortunate that she managed to hold it. 'And Takeo thought that I would wait until tomorrow to attempt breaking something'

"It's okay, I got it" she said as if she didn't know why he did that "Don't worry. I think you haven't understood something here; I don't have the energy or will to constantly been trying to connect with you 24 hours a day. That would be really exhausting. Is Frankenstein using that abhorring energy of his all the time?" she asked before she drank the water. She stretched her hand to him "Can I have one more?"

He raised his eyebrow and went aside "By all means you can fill it on your own"

"Oh I didn't know that you allowed me that" the sarcasm was very clear in her tone "With your fear you might actually think that I will poison the water pipes or something of that ilk"

"Heh…We are not that ignorant and after all, you are our guest, not our prisoner; I would think you can have as much freedom as moving around and tend to your needs"

"So I can leave the house then?"

"Why do you want to leave the house?" he asked then with wary.

She smirked at him as she got closer and he was getting backwards "I don't suppose you have women's toiletries and clothes, right?"

M-21 stopped and looked skeptical at that "Is that…why you wanted to leave the house?" he asked awkwardly.

She looked at him disappointed and if she was honest with herself she felt psychologically exhausted from people avoiding her like plague "Huh…You really don't trust me at all…You know it is starting to bother me; a lot" and then she turned to leave.

M-21 signed "Wait…We can go together. We can at least get you some basic stuff from convenient stores. I trust you getting as much as outside it's just that…I don't think that we should keep you here as a prisoner…"

"Hehe…it's fine, dear" she said with a smile on her face "Don't fret over it. Besides it would actually be better for me to buy these things personally…I cannot imagine any of you three going there and buying peri–"

"Yeah, yeah, you are right…I'm finishing here and I'm putting my shoes"

"Okay, I'll be waiting here"

'Great, how did I get stuck in this?'

Two red eyes were in his mind. Circling him and saying things that he couldn't understand. They were sad and commanding at the same time. They were familiar. And through the echo of time and space, through the seas and skies, lighting came; as loud as lightning can be for it wasn't lighting, it was a call…a call for Frankenstein.

Frankenstein opened his eyes that he hadn't realized that he closed and focused on his surroundings again. Only a moment had passed but it felt odd. It couldn't have been a dream, so it must have been…

"…Master?"

But the only answer he got was silence.

To be continued...

A/N: So we have the first interaction with the 3 bros and Sara. It was a chance to set up the weirdness of having someone they don't trust inside the house - especially after the whole M-24 clone fiasco - and her reaction to them.

Fav+Follow so you don't miss any updates.

Big thank you to "LightCamellia" for her Follow and being the first one to Fave the story and reviewing it too.

So how did you like it? I would like to know Please polite. AND...have a nice day~
