5/6 for today!

Sunday, August 30, 1998

That evening, the Grangers would be attending their very first Sunday dinner. Jean was nervously flattening the pleats of her robes and Richard was adjusting his collar. This evening would just be the Notts, the Blacks, and the Grangers. Ginny was smirking at the trio of Grangers who all seemed to be feeding each other's nervous energy.

"Come along, Doctor and Doctor Granger," Theo said, holding his arm out for Jean. Ginny held hers out for Richard and they made their way to the Floo. Draco and Hermione stepped through first, landing steadily in the Floo Parlour at Headquarters. The other two pairs quickly following.

When they all sat in the parlour waiting for Regulus and Kreacher to finish the meal, Remus brought up a good point. "We need an explanation for the two of you being with the Malfoy Notts."

"Well they're my parents," Hermione said, blinking at her former professor.

"Yes of course," Andromeda said with a chuckle, "but your supposed Pureblooded parents need to be able to do Magic."

"What about our Han chap?" Richard asked curiously.

"What about him?" Ginny asked.

"Well he can follow us around invisibly, can't he?" when the rest of the group nodded, he continued, "so just have him pretend to cast spells for us. Give us a nice wand, and we'll pretend to flounce around Magic-ing things."

The rest of the group just stared at him, astounded.

"That's genius," Draco said in awe. "We should assign someone to Doctor Granger as well, so that she has her own Magical Companion."

"Oh come along Draco," Jean said with a smile, "enough with the formalities it's Jean and Richard, it's much too confusing to continue with this Doctor and Doctor Granger nonsense."

"Well we need to create a glamour for them that is tied to a piece of jewellery, probably their rings," Theo said thoughtfully, "and then we can slowly introduce them to society. Mum," he said, turning to Narcissa who hadn't spoken much since their arrival, "Could you and Andromeda give them some lessons like you did with Hermione and Gin?"

"Of course," Narcissa said, kindly.

"Well," Hermione said with a clap, "that's settled, everyone. I'm pleased to introduce my parents Raimond and Jeanette Giroux."

Her parents bowed dramatically to the clapping of the assembled group. Shortly afterwards they moved to the dining room to eat their dinner.

Hermione felt completely at home for the first time in a very long time.

A special shout out TheLoud of In the Bleak Midwinter for the idea of Muggles using House elves for Magic! (Would TOTALLY recommend that one)
