We're back on our daily scheduled bs! Here's a little Platform 9 3/4 action so we can celebrate the first day of Hogwarts together!

Hermione was feeling nostalgic before they brought Ginny to Platform 9 ¾ that morning. Theo was bustling around making sure she had the last of all the things she needed.

"Promise you'll write?" he asked for the tenth time.

"Yes, Dad," she said sarcastically.

Theo chuckled and then pulled his sister into a hug. "I'm quite proud of you," he said. "Hermione will be taking on the Malfoy seat in the Hogwarts Board of Governors starting today, so you might see her around school being all Malfoy-ish."

"Remember to keep your head down," Hermione said, "we're undercover. No one except the ones already in the know can know that you're still part of the Order."

Ginny huffed, "At least my brothers won't still be around, that would make it impossible."

"Befriend any of the neutral families and make sure the Notts are well represented at Hogwarts!" Theo said.

With that, Kevin, who had been waiting in the far corner of the hallway, gave Ginny a tearful hug. "I will be missing you Mistress!" he wailed.

"Oh Kevin!" Ginny said with a grin, "I'll still call you from time to time, you can deliver all my letters to dad and the rest of the Weasleys."

"Kevin's would be being honoured," said the little elf reverently.

Hermione was practically buzzing with excitement. Her parents had closed the practice that day to bring her to the station. They'd spent the whole car ride quizzing each other on Hogwarts facts.

That summer they'd gone to visit her grandparents in Martinique. When they arrived at her grandmother's house, who everyone affectionately called Mimi, the Grangers were immediately surrounded by all of their extended family. Richard had been pulled to sit with the men, Jean had been ushered into the kitchen, and Hermione was dragged to the beach with her cousins. By the time they'd returned to their home, Richard was as red as a lobster, and Hermione's skin had developed a more golden hue than normal.

There were a few times when she thought maybe her cousin, Yasmine might also have magic, but she was two years younger than Hermione, so she wouldn't know until she was closer to eleven. Hermione made sure to mention Hogwarts and the fact that they had sister schools in America and Brazil, just in case Yasmine or one of the other cousins ever got a letter.

As the Granger's sat in the car, Hermione bit back tears, she didn't know when the next time she'd get to go visit her family for so long would be. Her parents had made an extra long trip this summer before she went to school as they didn't know what the following years would look like.

"You're alright," Jean said, smiling at her from the rearview mirror before they left the car. "We'll be so excited to hear about which house you'll be in. Do write to us as soon as you can, and we'll see you at Christmas."

When they appeared between Platform 9 and 10, Hermione and her parents walked through the barrier confidently. Professor McGonagal had explained to them just how they would enter.

After making it through the wall, they were thrilled to see the hubbub of sound and colour around them. All three of the Grangers let their head swivel around taking in the variety of new sights.

Hermione saw a towering dark haired man who was talking to an extremely pale man. The pale man was standing next to a woman who was talking to two boys, one with wavy brown hair and the other with hair that was as pale as the man next to him.

The woman looked kind, but before Hermione could look any harder they were greeted by Algie Longbottom.

Present Day (9/1/1998)

When they appeared at King's Cross Station, the three of them put on their snootiest looks and made their way to the platform. Ginny stoically kissed both of them on the cheeks and made her way into the train.

Hermione and Theo stood on the platform watching the families around them. "We'll be doing this again before long," Hermione said looking up at him.

"Can you imagine the children taking potions from Draco?" he said with a laugh.

Hermione smiled at the thought of Scorpius and his siblings running around the platform preparing for school. She gripped Theo's arm tighter and looked up to see Ginny waving at them with a small smile on her face from the window of the train.

When the train began to chug away, a wave of melancholy washed over her. She wasn't sure that she'd ever get to complete her education. By the time the war was over she'd be two years older than the 7th years and a mother, she didn't really want to be back at Hogwarts then.

"What are you thinking about, love?" Theo asked as they made their way back through Kings Cross.

"How I can't really go back," Hermione said with a sigh. "I'm hoping they'll offer a NEWTS course for those of us who didn't get to complete our education."

"We'll make sure of it," Theo said, pulling her in for a kiss.
