Chapter 1392
Flat Tire
The teams moved into the three areas where they suspected the Grays would arrive. They didn't have an exact destination for them. It was why they needed to stake out the suspected areas.
Cammy and Savannah moved to their assigned position. 'Coltan Overcast' and 'Cherry Bomb' took up station around them. One was in a low orbit. The other was in a higher and wider orbit.
Steve and Tom were about a mile away. Al and Ed were about three miles away. Ned was with the Iroquois. There were drones around each team.
Savannah looked at her phone. She could see the two vehicles of Grays were very close.
"It looks like they'll be in the area within ten minutes." Savannah said.
It was the same information Cammy was given by John Henry a few seconds ago.
"It looks like it." Cammy said. "What we don't know is where they're going specifically."
There was the impending threat of the HK equipment the Grays seemed to be headed to.
Savannah was aware of what their biggest threat would be. It wouldn't necessarily be a Skynet Terminator.
"We need to watch for any HK drones suddenly appearing." Savannah said. "There are most likely some sitting in a building right around us somewhere."
It wouldn't be the first time they'd encountered it. They'd already taken every precaution possible.
"Our drones are watching the ground and the sky." Cammy said.
Whatever was going to happen, was going to happen soon.
Anna and Young Allison went over all the images and satellite maps. The current drone images were overlaid on them in real time.
"Are the Grays going to stop soon?" Young Allison asked.
Anna wasn't sure what would happen.
"I don't know." Anna said.
Young Allison checked the suspected target areas. Two of their Terminators currently trailed the two Gray vehicles.
"Have Richard and Michael back off and take a divergent route into the industrial area." Young Allison said. "The Grays may be checking for a tail."
Anna sent word to John Henry. He advised they all needed to use caution.
"John Henry is going to have everyone hold for right now." Anna said. "Traffic is light around the industrial area. If we move too soon, we may spook them."
Young Allison thought there was a bigger worry.
"If we wait too long, they could have all the HK equipment online and our troops will need to deal with it." Young Allison said. "It will be an even bigger threat to everyone."
The prospect of Savannah and the others facing down HK Tracks and HK drones didn't sit well with her.
Anna could see Young Allison calculating.
"How do you want to play it?" Anna asked.
Young Allison wanted to play it safe. They could always launch a missile strike as soon as they stopped at a building. It didn't ensure everything inside would be destroyed. The HK equipment was very durable. It could sustain a lot of damage and still function. It also didn't mean it was the only building. It might generate some kind of local response in a smaller city. The area was only so big.
"If we get eyes on a set location, I think we can play it out some." Young Allison said.
They could try and draw away the Grays at the last second. It may or may not work.
Anna wondered what Young Allison would come up with.
"I see you're thinking of a plan." Anna said.
Young Allison wanted their troops protected.
"Is it a scary thought?" Young Allison asked.
Anna knew Young Allison always thought of the best course of action.
"For the enemy it is." Anna said.
Young Allison checked the satellite maps one last time.
"Get John Henry and CamNet together for a conference call with us." Young Allison said.
Anna already anticipated Young Allison's request. Everything was good to go.
"It's ready." Anna said.
Young Allison looked at the security monitor and then at several of her screens. She quickly laid out a plan once it looked like the Grays were near their destination.
Jim monitored the events on the ground where the teams were at. He also ran interference for Dan and Frank. It seemed San Francisco was going to be a little safer tonight.
The door from the private area opened and Cameron walked in.
Cam-Gail and Jim could see she looked 'serious'. With all that transpired in the Owner's Suite lately, it was understandable.
Cam-Gail stood and removed the tether from her neck port and offered it to Cameron. She took it and sat down.
Cameron plugged in.
"Thank you." Cameron said.
She instantly got up to speed on what was happening.
Jim filled in any other relevant information.
Cameron noticed Cam-Gail standing behind her wearing only a bathrobe.
"You can join whatever room you want." Cameron said.
Cam-Gail moved over to the pass door into the Owner's Suite. It looked like she was going to enter and go to John.
Cameron didn't look at Cam-Gail when she spoke.
"Sheila or one of the girls could use you for a little bit first." Cameron said.
Cam-Gail slowly released the door handle.
"Affirmative…." Cam-Gail said and left the way Cameron entered.
Jim didn't say anything. He thought Cam-Gail was within her rights and Cameron's statement to enter into the Owner's Suite. She did say 'whatever room'. Cameron previously did promise her 'one time alone with John'.
He figured it was best not to say anything. He was still worried Cameron would try and borrow his chassis for some alone time with John. It was still a real possibility.
Cameron continued to study the operation as if nothing happened.
She picked up on the plans being laid out in the Young bunker. She looked over at the Owner's Suite wall. She wondered if she was doing everything all wrong. Savannah and Young Allison were the backbone of the current operations. Maybe what she was trying to do here and now was unnecessary. The 'Chosen Ones' were the future. They were the ones at their posts and doing their jobs. They were the ones who took the fight to the enemy and faced them down on the battlefield.
Cameron looked at the Owner's Suite pass door and the Master Suite pass door.
WHAT was she doing to everyone?
WHAT was she doing to herself?
The two vehicles of Grays finally committed to a section of the industrial area. They'd circled back twice over their tracks and no one was spotted.
The lead vehicle suddenly developed a flat tire. It 'clopped' over to the side of the road. The second vehicle pulled up alongside of it. One person from the lead vehicle got out and joined the second car. There were some boxes transferred over as well.
The second car continued on its way. It seemed it didn't have far to go. There were three men left with the lead car which was now disabled. There was some complaining as the trunk was opened. They would need to change the tire and then join the others. It should only take them about ten minutes to get it done. If they hurried, they could cut the time in half. None of them seemed in a big hurry.
The second car entered the industrial tract. It went down two blocks and then over one. There was a blacked out SUV closing in on each side of them. One moved up and stopped one building away from where the Gray's car was headed. They'd driven past this one spot twice from different routes. It was the only spot the Grays passed twice from a different direction.
It was the location where Cammy and Savannah were now stationed. Steve and Tom were on one side. Al and Ed were on the other side. As soon as the Grays stopped, they should be at their destination.
John Henry reported the Grays just contacted the disabled vehicle and reported there was no trouble. The disabled vehicle was jacked up and the damaged tire was taken off.
The three Grays complained about having to change the tire.
"We should just dump this tub and take a new car." The first Gray said. "This thing had lousy acceleration anyway."
The other two Grays looked around.
"You should have boosted a better vehicle in the first place." The second Gray said. "There's not a big selection of vehicles around here."
There were no other cars visible around them.
The third Gray removed the spare tire from the trunk.
"Look at this piece of crap spare tire." The third Gray said. "It doesn't even look like it would support the weight of the car. It makes me wonder if they could have made it any cheaper."
The first Gray looked at the tire they removed. He touched the sidewall when he saw there was a hole in it.
"Hey." The first Gray said. "This looks like a bullet hole."
The third Gray quickly looked around the area.
"I didn't hear any gunfire." The third Gray said.
The second Gray went over to look.
"No, he's right." The second Gray said. "It does look like a bullet hole. It even comes out on the other side of the tire."
The three Grays all became worried. They realized they were isolated and wide open. They also knew their group had been divided in half. If they were targeted, it was an effective strategy.
"Call the others." The third Gray said.
The first Gray went to use his phone. It didn't work.
"My phone is dead." The first Gray said.
The other Grays checked their phones. None of them worked.
"They're all dead." The second Gray said.
The three Grays all looked at each other. It was evident what just happened.
"This is a set up." The third Gray said.
The first Gray drew his weapon.
"We need to warn the others." The first Gray said.
The other two drew their weapons too. They look nervously around them.
"How can we do it from here?" The second Gray asked.
They looked all around them for some sign of an attack. Nothing was spotted.
The first Gray knew what would get their attention.
"Maybe I should fire a few warning shots." The first Gray said.
He started to lift his weapon up to point it into the air.
The second Gray thought things through a little further. They could put themselves in serious jeopardy.
"Wait." The second Gray said. "What happens if the cops show up? This isn't too big of a city. They're going to question us and find our weapons. We'll have to kill them. It will send up a red flag because they'll have already radioed where they were investigating. It will bring more cops. That's all going to lead to a bigger investigation and even more people snooping around."
The first Gray lowered his gun. He needed to remember they hadn't actually heard any gunfire yet. How could there be a bullet hole in the tire without any gunfire?
"I think we're paranoid and overreacting." The first Gray said.
The third Gray felt the same way.
"Maybe this is nothing." The third Gray said.
The three Grays shared an uneasy laugh.
Two large figures had been able to move in on them.
"Maybe it is something." Michael said.
The men spun around. There was no mistaking the red eyes in the darkness of the huge figure who'd appeared for nowhere.
"Maybe it's death." Richard said.
The men turned the other way and spotted another red eyed figure as they tried to bring their weapons up.
There were a half dozen silenced rounds fired by both Richard and Michael.
The three Grays fell in a soundless heap.
Richard and Michael tossed the three men in the back seat of the car.
Richard reached down and quickly put the rest of the lug nuts on the wheel. Michael lifted the side of the car a little and Richard pulled out the jack. They tossed it in the trunk and closed it.
They got into the front seat and started the car. They should be able to approach the other vehicle without a problem if they needed to. They would be expecting them. They drove off to where the other vehicle was headed.
Savannah and Cammy watched some drone footage.
"Richard and Michael took care of three of them." Savannah said.
Cammy knew it still left four in the vehicle headed for where they were. She thought about the cargo they carried as well.
"They most likely have the Skynet hard drives in the vehicle headed our way." Cammy said.
Savannah wanted to know what Cammy's plan was. She wanted to use some moderation if possible.
"How do you want to play this?" Savannah asked.
Cammy and Savannah were on foot outside of their SUV. There weren't very many choices left where the Grays would end up at.
"I think we should take them as soon as they start to walk towards a building, once we know for sure it's where they're headed." Cammy said.
Savannah wanted to take control of the situation as soon as possible. If they didn't, they would face an even bigger problem.
"I don't want any of them to get inside of the building." Savannah said. "I want to prevent any of the HK equipment from being activated."
Cammy hoped they could do it. They still needed to see where the Grays actually went.
"We'll see." Cammy said.
Young Allison and Anna watched the drone footage. The first part of the plan seemed to go down without a hitch.
"Scratch three." Young Allison said. "There are a few more to go."
Anna checked on the vehicle Larry and Hank followed on the 101 highway.
"Plus three more on the drive back on 101." Anna said.
Young Allison looked. She returned her attention to the vehicle closest to Savannah and Cammy. She thought something was about to happen.
"They're driving too slow. I think they're going to do something." Young Allison said.
They watched the vehicle stop on the street. Two men got out. They headed towards a building. The car moved forward again and picked up a little speed.
Anna wondered what they were up to.
"That's odd." Anna said.
Young Allison didn't think it was for reconnaissance.
"They must have two locations." Young Allison said. "Who's the closest team there?"
She checked the satellite map overlay.
"Al and Ed are." Anna said.
Young Allison didn't want anyone to enter a building yet.
"Have them act now." Young Allison said. "Richard and Michael can join them."
John Henry was still directly connected to the Young bunker. He set the two teams in motion.
The car stopped again and two more men got out. The car started to drive away again.
Anna noticed a discrepancy right away.
"There's an extra person." Anna said. "We only spotted four earlier."
Young Allison saw Steve and Tom weren't too far away. She wanted to make sure they had plenty of firepower available.
"Have Steve and Tom intercept them." Young Allison said. "I want a drone in gun range at both of those locations."
Anna was concerned. She didn't want to tip their hand too soon. They still didn't know who all the players were yet.
"If they have a Terminator with them, they'll hear the drones within gun range." Anna said. "They'll know an attack is imminent."
Young Allison knew they wanted to take the Grays down as silently as possible. They didn't want to alert anyone inside of the buildings, or cause any HK equipment in standby to detect a threat and become active. They were all real possibilities. She wanted to make sure the air support was as close as it could safely get.
"Have the drones close in as close as possible without tipping our hand." Young Allison said. "They need to take into account the two known locations and the undetermined third location where the vehicle will end up at."
Anna was updated.
"Everyone is closing in on their targets." Anna said.
Young Allison was worried about the other two team members still out there.
"It still leaves Cammy and Savannah." Young Allison said.
Anna felt everything would be covered.
"They'll deal with the last man in the vehicle." Anna said.
Young Allison would have liked to have their drones in closer. The threat of a Skynet Terminator, or HK equipment detecting them, was too great.
Cammy and Savannah were ready to return to their vehicle if necessary. They would only need to if the Gray's vehicle drove away.
Savannah thought about the boxes they saw transferred from the disabled vehicle earlier.
"I never saw the boxes taken out of the car with the other two groups of men who got out." Savannah said.
Cammy double checked.
"None of them carried the boxes which were taken out of the first vehicle." Cammy said.
It caused Savannah some worry.
"Maybe there's some version of Skynet under construction somewhere else." Savannah said.
Cammy didn't want to get ahead of themselves. She wanted everything to play out a little further.
"The Gray in the car may still arrive near where we are." Cammy said.
Savannah believed they needed to use a proactive approach.
"We need to stop him before he enters the building." Savannah said. "We don't want any HK equipment activated."
Dealing with Grays was one thing. Having to deal with a Terminator or HK equipment was another. They still had no idea what they would face.
Young Allison decided she was ready to have John Henry enact a jamming field around the entire area at this point.
Anna informed CamNet and John Henry of her decision.
John Henry was worried it would tip their hand. He wanted to delay the procedure.
"It will most likely alert the Grays something is up." John Henry said.
Young Allison was worried about other possibilities. It was a possibility which would pose a bigger threat to the entire team, especially Savannah.
"It will also prevent them from remotely activating the HK equipment." Young Allison said. "As soon as the car stops at a location, do it."
It seemed everything was about to go down at any moment.
"Everyone is in position." Anna said. "The car is about to stop."
Steve and Tom ran to reach their targets. They went over the fence of one building and through their back lot. They slowed and jumped the gate on the next street. The Grays were at the building across the street. They would try to take them down silently first.
Tom raised his suppressed M4 to back up Steve who held his silenced M9.
Steve aimed and fired four times. Both figures fell.
"Let's go." Tom said.
They rushed across the street and past the two deceased Grays. They'd each been shot in the back of the head and back of their neck.
Steve and Tom were met with a keypad lock. It was going to delay their entry somewhat.
They sent out a warning to the other teams. They told them if it was possible, they should let the Grays activate the lock before they were taken down.
Steve grabbed each of the men by an ankle and pulled them off to the side of the door. They were out of sight if anyone would pass by on the street. They didn't know if anyone was in the building either. If someone did look out, they wouldn't see two bodies lying there.
Tom looked at the keypad.
"This could take some time." Tom said.
They both received an unexpected communication in their com.
Al and Ed received the warning about the keypad lock.
They lowered their silenced pistols some. They needed to wait for the men to get closer to the building.
"We may lose the angle of our shots if they move into the alcove." Al said.
Ed checked on Richard and Michael. They currently drove the other Gray's vehicle after the tire was changed.
He sent them a message to proceed quickly to his location to act as a distraction for the two Grays about to enter the building.
Al decided to try and move to a position for a better firing solution if the Grays entered the alcove by the door.
Cammy and Savannah watched the last Gray stop in front of the building. It was down two buildings from them.
"Let's go." Cammy said.
They carefully moved along the front of the first building in a low crouch.
The Gray exited the vehicle.
Cammy halted their progress for a few seconds as he looked around. He was fooling with his phone. The jamming field was now in effect. He may only think he was in a 'dead spot' at first.
He moved up to the front of the building.
Cammy and Savannah quickly moved along the front of the second building in the same low crouch.
They could see the Gray reach for the door. It opened before he touched anything. Someone opened it from the inside.
"That's not good." Savannah said. "Warn the others."
Cammy saw it as a further complication.
"We have additional Grays already inside our building." Cammy reported. "There are more people here than we figured on."
Hank and Larry were given the green light to take out the vehicle they followed. It had turned around on the 101 and was headed southbound back towards the Los Angeles area.
They needed to wait for one of the isolated areas. They could call in a drone strike at any time. They wanted to keep the collateral damage and clean up to a minimum.
Larry watched the drone footage and looked at a satellite map.
"I see a spot in three miles." Larry said.
Hank looked over and noted the location.
"I like it." Hank said. "I'll close up on them."
The 101 was a two lane highway on both sides at this point. At this time of night, there was little traffic. It was a good thing.
"Stay in the other lane so it looks like we're going to pass them and not just intercept them." Larry said.
Hank wanted to get as close as possible without alerting them to the impending attack.
"Affirmative…." Hank said as he brought the SUV up to speed.
Cameron followed the events about to take place at four locations. It worried her some because the teams were all spread out. She didn't doubt their ability to be able to meet any challenge. They wouldn't be able to give each other much mutual support the way things currently were. The fact there were three buildings was worrisome in itself.
Jim followed the operation as well. He glanced over at Cameron. Her face was blank. She was focused on the events about to unfold.
The door from the private area opened and Sheila entered.
Cameron glanced over.
"Everyone is busy." Sheila said.
Cameron nodded.
"Thank you." Cameron said.
Sheila hoped Cameron would use her chassis again. She wanted to share the experience as much as possible. She didn't mind if Cameron was in control.
"My chassis is available whenever you want it." Sheila said.
Cameron smiled. She hoped it would give her the edge to interest John a little more than just her chassis. Allison was in his bedroom earlier. Vanna was in there before her. She wasn't sure what transpired.
"Thank you." Cameron said. "I appreciate it."
The blank look returned to Cameron's face.
Sheila reached over and touched Cameron's knee. Earlier she saw Cameron was highly aroused as she watched her 'work' on Leticia. She wanted to let Cameron know there was another option available to her.
"I can make you feel the same way too." Sheila said. "I can make you feel like Leticia did."
The smile returned to Cameron's face. A lot more things occurred than she'd ever thought possible so far. The cruise still had several days before it concluded.
"It may happen before this cruise is finished." Cameron said.
Sheila smiled and gave Cameron a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm available for anything." Sheila said.
Cameron really wondered how far anyone would go.
"Anything?" Cameron asked.
Sheila looked into Cameron's eyes and smiled.
"Anything." Sheila said.
Cameron heard Leticia say the same thing just a short while ago. It was clear she would do anything.
"Now you sound like Leticia." Cameron said.
Sheila wanted some more interaction with Leticia after the cruise. She'd already planned to see Laura and 'help her out' with something she wanted done but couldn't afford it. She would need to remember to not get carried away. It was easy to do.
"I want to keep her." Sheila said. "She has potential."
Cameron looked at the wall of the Owner's Suite. She wasn't really sure exactly what Sheila meant. She was aware Leticia wanted to be Sheila's submissive. She wasn't sure exactly how far either one of them were willing to go. The term 'anything', covered a lot.
"We'll see." Cameron said.
Jim tried to adjust his pants some as he listened to Cameron and Sheila talk. He didn't want them to notice.
Dan and Frank left the chaos of the disrupted 'street takeover' behind. They were on their way back to Golden Gate Park. They'd passed through a number of neighborhoods on their dash to reach the intersection where the street takeover occurred. They'd spotted numerous infractions along the way which they felt they should deal with. They'd also spotted a few suspicious individuals.
They currently didn't have any other assignments to carry out for the Resistance. Technically, everything they'd done in the park, and in the surrounding areas of the city, was an 'off the books' operation. None of it affected the Resistance directly. It did however affect the future going forward. Future Scavengers needed to be dealt with wherever they were encountered.
There were a few individuals lying on the sidewalk. They were near a liquor store.
"They almost look as if they're terminated." Frank said.
Dan scanned the figures. They were still breathing.
"Not yet, but we can assist them." Dan said. "It would be very peaceful for them if we terminated them now."
They watched as an older model car pulled up on the other side of the street. It was double parked and back two buildings from the liquor store. An individual got out of the passenger's side of it and crossed over the street. They headed for the liquor store.
Dan noted the infractions.
"Double parking and jaywalking are both violations." Dan said.
Frank could see the car was still running. There was a little smoke coming out of the tailpipe. The vehicle probably needed a valve job or new rings. Based upon its exterior condition, it probably needed both.
"I think something's going down." Frank said. "Someone is probably going to steal some liquor and return to the vehicle. It might even be a robbery."
Dan and Frank were both ready to draw their silenced M9.
"If there's any shooting, we'll terminate the perpetrators." Dan said.
They watched the suspicious man enter the liquor store. About thirty seconds later, he came running out of the entrance. He held a pistol in one hand and a bag in the other. It probably contained the cash from the cash register.
The vehicle he'd arrived in earlier started forward. The driver leaned out of the window and told the man to hurry. The perpetrator was halfway across the street.
Dan fired twice at the perpetrator's legs. He fell in the middle of the street. The gun in his hand slid away from him along with the sack of cash.
Frank fired once at the driver as he leaned out through the open window of the getaway car as it pulled forward. The driver slumped over the door The car continued along at idle speed. The perpetrator in the street realized what was about to happen. He tried to move but wasn't fast enough. The car rolled up against his body. He let out a scream as the front tire passed over his chest. The rear tire wedged against his crushed body. The perpetrator was underneath the car. He was still alive.
The attendant of the liquor store looked out of the open door. He wondered what happened. He didn't see anyone around. He did see the gun and the sack of cash from his store in the street underneath the stalled vehicle. He could see the legs of an individual sticking out from in front of the rear tire. He could hear a gurgling coughing sound from underneath the vehicle.
He walked out and picked up sack and looked at it. It was the cash from the store. He left the gun where it was and went back in the store. He held his phone in his hand from when he'd dialed 911 immediately after the robbery. He was still on hold.
Dan and Frank moved on. They turned down another street and didn't pass in front of the liquor store.
"Jaywalking is very dangerous." Dan said. "It seems to be another law which is no longer enforced in this city. I saw repeated instances of it throughout the day and night earlier."
They could hear the sound of arguing up in front of them.
There seemed to be some type of dispute about narcotics.
The two men began to fight. One of them pulled out a knife. They watched as he stabbed the other individual. The man fell to the ground. The perpetrator reached down and took something from the other man's body and started to move off. He almost literally bumped into them when he turned around. He still held the bloody knife in his hand.
Frank pointed his silenced M9 at the man.
"Only an imbecile would bring a knife to a gunfight." Frank said.
The man froze in his tracks. He turned around to run.
Dan moved up behind him.
"Only a total imbecile would attempt to fight a Terminator." Dan said.
Dan grabbed the man and snapped his neck. His body fell on top of the man he'd stabbed.
Frank saw some pills land on the ground and roll around.
"The use of narcotics can prove deadly." Frank said. "They can terminate you in more ways than one."
Dan and Frank moved on. They headed back towards Golden Gate Park.
Tom received some specific instructions.
He knocked on the door of the building the HK equipment was in. They would see if someone would open the door for them.
There was a pause.
He knocked harder.
"Who is it?" The Gray inside asked.
With the information they were given, they knew Gray's were inside of one of the buildings, they decided to play it up a little.
"It's us, stupid. We already called." Tom said. "Let us in. I need to take a dump right now. It's about to come out. I'm already crowning."
They could hear the door unlatch and start to open.
"Relax, man. I just…" The Gray started to say.
Steve and Tom slammed the door open and moved inside. The Gray was knocked against a wall by the door. He was stunned by the impact. Steve fired one silenced round into his forehead. His body slid down the wall until he was in a sitting position on the floor. There was a red streak on the wall behind him.
They quickly looked through the building. There was one other Gray. He was lying on a cot. He held a cigarette in one hand and a can of beer in the other.
"Those are bad for your health." Tom said as he shot him in the head. "Cigarettes can kill you."
The can of beer fell from the Gray's hand as he collapsed down onto the cot. It rolled across the floor leaving a trail of foaming liquid.
They checked the interior of the building. It was what they thought it would be.
"We have two HK Tracks and two HK drones in here." Tom said. "We're deactivating them now."
Richard and Michael drove right up to the front door of the other building. The two Grays who were about to enter looked back and saw it was their other car. They paid it no further attention. It was a mistake on their part.
The Gray at the door entered the code. Richard and Michael exited the car and moved up behind them. As soon as the door opened they snapped the necks of the two men. They let their bodies fall to the ground as they entered the building. Al and Ed rushed up on both sides of them to join them. They found two Grays asleep in an office area. They never woke up. They never would now.
They quickly searched the building.
"We have three HK Tracks and one HK drone in our building." Al reported. "We're moving to deactivate them."
So far the operation proceeded smoothly.
Hank and Larry closed on the target vehicle. It looked as if they were going to pass it.
Hank glanced at the road ahead with one eye and the drone image from above. He wanted to get the timing right. They were almost to a bridge. He looked like he was about to pass the Grays when he moved over and touched the bumper of his SUV against the rear quarter panel of the car. He turned his wheel sharply for a second. He'd just initiated a high speed PIT maneuver. He touched the brakes and corrected his steering as the Gray's car fishtailed and spun out. It rolled over three times.
With each roll, a Gray was ejected from the vehicle and slammed into the highway where their bodies bounced around. It was apparent they hadn't been wearing their seat belts. The impact with the pavement alone at high speed was enough to bust the Gray's bodies up.
"They should have worn their safety belts. Automobiles are dangerous." Larry said.
Hank nodded.
"They could have also received a citation for failing to follow state law." Hank said.
On its third roll, the car disappeared over the side of the road right before the bridge. It's forward momentum carried it into the void the bridge crossed. It was a stream outlet into the ocean.
There was a loud crash and a small fireball. It was extinguished almost as fast as it appeared by the waves below.
Hank stopped and pulled off to the side of the road. If anyone came along now, it would look like they stopped to render aid to a traffic accident. They got out and quickly tossed the three Grays over the side to join their car below after they collected their phones and weapons.
It should look like a traffic accident if it was found anytime soon. They doubted it would be.
They reentered their SUV and crossed the grass covered meridian. They headed back north to join the other teams taking down the buildings.
They received notice from John Henry to acquire two big rigs somewhere on the way back. They should look for two which were empty. They'd seen several truck stops along the way earlier. It shouldn't be a problem.
Cammy and Savannah quickly moved along the front of the second building in the same low crouch.
They could see the Gray reach for the door. It opened before he touched anything.
"That's not good." Savannah said.
Cammy knew it posed an additional threat.
"We have Grays inside of our building." Cammy reported.
The other teams all successfully engaged their targets with the new information.
Two Grays came out of the building and went with the Gray who drove it. They opened the trunk and began to carry some boxes inside. The Gray who drove the car carried the boxes they'd transferred from the first car. They went inside. The trunk lid was still up.
Savannah could see they had an opportunity.
"They need to make a second trip." Savannah said. "Let's get up there."
Savannah and Cammy hurried forward.
Cammy moved to the back of the car. Savannah waited next to the door. She was pressed against the wall.
The two Grays from inside headed for the back of the car. Cammy was waiting for them. Savannah waited for the driver to come out. He didn't come out right away.
Cammy shot both of the Grays when they came around the back of the car. She'd already taken the four boxes out which were still in the trunk and placed them on the ground. She quickly stuffed the two Grays inside the trunk. She had some trouble making the second one fit. There was a loud crack as one of his bones broke. He fit now with no problem.
The driver still hadn't appeared.
Savannah was about to peek around the door frame.
"What's taking so long?" The Gray asked angrily. "You guys had all night to play 'grab ass' and smoke each other's poles. Let's put some hustle in it and get a move on."
The Gray walked outside the door past Savannah.
Savannah shot him in the back of the head.
His head flew forward and then went back to its original position.
"Metal." Savannah shouted.
The Terminator turned around and grabbed at Savannah.
She was already on the move. He still managed to get a glancing blow in. It sent her sprawling on the ground. Her M9 disappeared under the car as she hit the ground.
Savannah rolled off to the side as Cammy came around the rear of the car and fired the remainder of the magazine from her M9 into his head. It caused him to stop his grab for her. He was momentarily stunned as most of his face disappeared from the repeated bullet impacts.
She completed her roll and came up with her Taser and fired twice into the struggling Terminator. He collapsed to the ground. It caused her to roll once more to avoid his impact on top of her.
Savannah was up on her feet in an instant.
Cammy moved up and handed Savannah her Taser and reloaded M9. She took the fired Taser Savannah held. They didn't know if there were any others inside.
"I'll deactivate him." Cammy said. "Watch the door. I'll get your M9 later."
It looked like the action was about to pick up. It seemed to be off to a violent start.
CamNet's Terminators gleaned as much information from the two men as they could get. It wasn't very much. It was as they'd suspected. Both of the men were low level flunkies. It was time to wrap things up.
Lena didn't believe the man she'd questioned had anything more useful to say. She reached down and snapped his neck. She picked up his body and carried it back into the hallway. She entered the room where Tina was at. It was clear the man she'd question was already terminated.
"Yours looks in better condition than mine." Tina said.
Lena could see the man Tina questioned was busted up pretty bad. They were both at the same destination now. She didn't think the journey mattered.
"Terminated is terminated." Lena said.
She dumped his body on the cot next to the other man.
They briefly discussed what information they'd found out from their respective detainee. They went back out into the workroom area. There was nothing specifically Skynet related inside of the building. There was only the other machinery left. CamNet decided she wanted the CNC mill. It was already in the back of the box truck.
They were told to burn the building down.
Lena went over to a yellow cabinet marked 'Flammable'. There were a number of different chemicals inside of it. She handed several containers to Tina. They both went through the building and dumped the chemicals out.
Tina left a trail of chemicals behind her as she exited the building.
Lena was already inside of the box truck. It was running. She'd taken the keys from the man she'd questioned earlier. She pulled it away from the dock as Tina exited. She made a sharp turn and headed for the driveway.
Tina took out her silenced M9 and fired one round into the concrete with the chemicals on them. There was a spark. They ignited with a 'whoosh' sound. The burning liquid followed the trail back inside of the building. She ran around the side of the building and got into the truck.
Lena was away from the property when the first explosion occurred. There were several in quick succession, one after another.
They were to pick up their SUV and leave the truck at another location. A Terminator would be by to collect it at a later time.
They left the truck where CamNet indicated. It was in a location where a security camera could monitor it. It would ensure no one else tampered with it. They were now both back in the SUV.
"I hope we can head to where the female Fanatic is at." Tina said. "I really want to wrap things up with her."
Lena wasn't sure what their next assignment would be.
CamNet wanted a few other loose ends tied up first before they left the area. The operation Savannah was currently on with the other Terminators, went back to a business which had been compromised by the Syndicate at the Nevada casino. It was one of the targets the Skynet forces selected for them to gain leverage on. She was aware Young Allison wanted the Syndicate to be punished for what it had attempted to do to the Metal girls.
There was a Syndicate related operation not too far from where they currently were. They were to visit the location and disrupt what was going on. They were also to terminate the owner of the business who'd been compromised. CamNet wanted him to disappear without a trace.
Tina was upset they couldn't complete their previous mission.
"We keep getting sidetracked." Tina said.
Lena believed the termination of the business owner was a good idea. He'd already compromised his business property and was susceptible to future blackmail.
"The operation Savannah is on right now is a result of the business owner doing Skynet bidding." Lena said. "He may have been duped into doing what he was forced to do under blackmail, but it was still his fault in the first place for seeking out illicit activity in Las Vegas. Everything comes with a price."
Tina was aware humans were susceptible to many different forms of vice.
"I wonder what we'll find when we show up at his house." Tina said. "It's the middle of the night."
Lena hoped he would be asleep. She would ensure his sleep was eternal.
"It should be a soft target." Lena said.
CamNet's Terminators headed for the business owner's residence. They would need to stop by a Syndicate controlled operation afterwards.
The female Fanatic thought her best move was to withdraw from the building. It sounded as if they were going to remove the HK equipment. She would attempt to follow the big rigs to wherever they were headed. She already knew this location. She didn't know where the equipment was going to be taken. She attempted to reverse her tracks and go out the way she'd entered. She was just about to make her move to reach the HK Tracks.
A man entered the building. He came through the open roll up door. She watched as he looked back and threw his cigarette butt out onto the dock. It hit the ground with a slight shower of sparks. She recognized his clothing as the man who'd been out earlier. She figured he must have gone back out when she'd used the restroom. Maybe she should have stuck her knife in his back when she had the chance. She hoped to get another one.
She dropped back between two crates.
The door the man who'd been on the phone went into earlier opened. Several men walked out.
"Why do we have to do this in the middle of the night?" The first man asked.
"We should have at least been given time to knock one more off with the slut." The second man said. "I like the way she tries to fight it every time."
"In a couple of days she will become passive." The first man said. "It's how it always is."
A few more men emerged behind them. They heard the tail end of the conversation.
"The new guy is in there right now." The third man said.
"He's lucky his truck is already loaded." The fourth man said.
The man who'd been smoking wondered what was going on.
"What's the big hurry?" The smoking man asked.
"HQ is worried we're going to get hit." The first man said.
"The boss said a couple more facilities were taken down earlier this evening." The third man said.
The smoking man looked at the HK Tracks.
"Are we supposed to turn these things on?" The smoking man asked.
"I don't think we want to turn any of them on." The second man said. "Bad things can happen if they get confused."
"Why would they get confused?" The smoking man asked.
"None of us is wearing a transponder." The fourth man said. "They wouldn't recognize us as 'Friendlies'."
"I can use the forklift." The smoking man said.
"Where's the other forklift at?" The first man asked. "We need to get things moving."
"It's over in back of those crates." The smoking man said.
The female Fanatic saw the man point directly at her location. She looked behind her and saw the forklift. She knew she needed to move from where she was at, otherwise she was probably going to be spotted.
She was just about to make her move when the man who'd been on the phone earlier emerged along with several more individuals. One of them was the truck driver she'd seen on the dock earlier. He tucked his shirt in and buckled his pants as he followed the man out.
"Everyone needs to put some hustle into it." The boss said. "We need all of the trucks loaded. We need them loaded right now. There are two forklifts and some pallet jacks. We're going to take some of these crates as well. I'll show you which ones."
Female Fanatic watched as the boss walked directly towards one of the crates she was between. She pulled out her Beretta. Maybe things were going to play out a little differently than she'd anticipated previously.
Flat Tire
Appearance is more about looks
Than it is about attire
To make it otherwise
Is little more than satire
Everyone wants the truth
No one likes a liar
They want what is real
They don't want anyone to conspire
Instead of knocking someone down
They should lift them higher
There's no need to make them look bad
Or leave them feeling dire
Everyone wants to feel wanted
When there's a burning desire
It gets the heart pounding
As it lights an inner fire
Don't act like an occupier
Nothing good will ever transpire
One will be left feeling
Like a deflated flat tire
Nobody
