3/4 for today!

On Friday morning, Blaise delivered the book he promised as well as about ten books on South American and Caribbean Magic. Hermione dragged her mum and dad into the library and handed her dad the books on Portuguese and Spanish influence, the Conquistadores, and her mother the books about Indigenous Magic. She took the book on Castelobruxo and was pleased to note all the personalised notes, charts and maps his cousin had drawn in.

They spent the majority of the day reading and taking notes on their extensive research. They'd spent the majority of the day on their books, each writing a report to present. Hermione was enthralled with Castelobruxo. A rather large part of her was disappointed that she hadn't had the opportunity to go. Her Spanish was passable, even if her Portuguese was awful, but that was the beauty of schools other than Hogwarts. They were diverse. Beauxbatons accepted students from all over Europe. Although many Portuguese and Spanish students went to Castelobruxo.

The classes were taught in the teacher's native language and there were translation spells almost always in effect. It was one of the first spells taught to students. That being said, Spanish and Portuguese were not all that different, and French was a cousin. One of her favourite notes was about the Racial strife at Castelobruxo. Everyone was aware of the history and the History of Magic had sections about all the differing groups that made up Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Madame Zabini was a fascinating combination. Blaise had mentioned that she'd almost gone to Uagadou, but her mother had won out and sent her to Castelobruxo instead. Hermione was rather excited to pick her brain about the whole process. By the time dinner was ready, Hermione had finished her first read through of her book and had started on the notes from History of Magic that Blaise's cousin had sent.

Jean was gleefully reading about the Indigenous peoples, she was glad to hear that for the most part they were taught by Elders at home. Castelobruxo was typically reserved for the more academically minded students. Both her parents had agreed that they wouldn't have gone to the school, but felt that it was important to send their daughter.

Although none of the learning was new to Richard, there were multiple times that he huffed while reading his books. "I don't bloody get it!" he'd said about halfway through the day. "These-These… colonisers just came in and bloody well destroyed everything! They raped and pillaged and just took!"

Jean looked at her husband fondly. "Makes you wish you could go back in time and set them straight, hm?"

"Like they'd bloody well listen to me!" he spat. He looked up at them after a few moments. "You two are my whole world, you know. I'm quite glad that we're all alive when we are so we can all be together like a proper family."

Hermione smiled at him and stroked her stomach, "I'm glad we're all here too, Dad. It sounds like you might have the most aggressive report of all of us."

"Most likely," he said with a sigh.

Dinner that evening was a lively affair. The Elves had made pizza which was eaten in one of the parlours. Each of the Grangers presented the day's findings. Draco looked more and more horrified with each word that Richard spoke. Theo looked, resigned. By the time the pizza had been eaten and the presentations finished, all five of them had learned a lot about Latin America and its Wizarding culture.

I LOVE THINKING ABOUT WHAT OTHER SCHOOLS MIGHT BE GETTING UP TO! I could have gone on and on and if the last two chaps hadn't been so massive I probably would have, but don't worry Castelobruxo will come up again!

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think or if you have any thoughts about what might happen next!
