You know there are a few perks to being in an anime universe. The laws of physics can get a little bit fucky at times, for example when a tiny little Pikachu creates a massive fifty meter wide crater in the middle of a battlefield with nothing but a simple Iron Tail. I have no idea where that type of power would even come from, there's also just pokemon attacks in general where a bunch of toony little Rattata can start to breathe fire out of nowhere. It's like there's no Laws of Energy Conservation in this wackjob paradise. I'm not really complaining though, this place is awesome- as I've already stated before-, there's no climate change, no asshole politicians, and everyone is just really chill.

Plus I actually have people that I care about here, I'm pretty grateful that I ended up dying back in my old world. This place just suits so me much better, be it the travelling, the people, or the lifestyle. It's a little ironic that I consider this place much more of a home than my old world ever was, right?

I can't say that death was a pleasant experience though, even now I sometimes still have nightmares about the feelings of emptiness and quietness that being in a dark void does to a person. I can't even call it an experience to be honest, it was almost like something... above that. Something natural yet unnatural. The hairs on my neck still stand up just by thinking about it.

I've got more here than I could ever even hope to have had back there. That is a fact.

Waking up with a pretty girl in your arms is every boys dream, isn't it? Well your wrong. Maybe in most case you'd be right, but not right now. That's because Sabrina is a sleep hugger. Sometimes we'll share sleeping bags on cold nights, and when we do she'll cling onto me like a snake. She'll literally take her legs and lock me in place by the waist, whilst her arms wrap themselves around my torso and she puts her head into my neck. Now you're probably also wondering what's so terrible about that? Afterall what could be so bad about cuddling with a cutie like Sabrina?

More than you'd think apparently.

For one thing, Sabrina doesn't know when to let go. Even if you shuffle around and try to pry yourself off the girl whilst she's sleeping that does nothing, in fact she'll just squeeze you tighter and get even more up in your business. If she hadn't done that so many times I'd think that she was just messing with me, but whenever she wakes up she immediately blushes in embarrassment and lets go almost immediately. That girl can't act to save her life, if she's flustered then you know it. Of course I could just physically force her off me, just grab her and physically make her let me go, but... well I hate doing that. She just looks so happy in her slumber when she's strangling me with cuddles, you just don't wanna disturb her peaceful slumber. If I wasn't immune to her psychic powers I'd think that she brainwashed me into being unable to do anything that would even remotely hurt that girl, but no; I'm just weak when it comes to that girl.

I've gotten soft.

But, today I couldn't afford to just lie in and take it easy. Both the semi-final round and the actual final round of the Conference would be happening today. I couldn't just stay in bed with a cute girl and miss what I'd been training nearly a year for. So I'll have to wake up the psychic queen.

The fact that this is painful for me just means I'm a massive simp.

"Sabrina, wake up we gotta go." I spoke into her ear so that my voice would actually pack enough sound in it to make her stir up from her little beauty nap. I could tell by looking at the brightness behind the curtains that it was at least 10 AM. Weird to think that the psychic mistress of Saffron was the type of girl that likes to sleep in.

In response to my blunt wake-up call the purple haired girl started to grumble as she opened her ruby red eyes and stared into my golden ones. She was surprised at how close we were at first, but then she looked down from her position on top of me and noticed how she was practically straddling me and her crotch was pressed dangerously close to mine. She shifted in her position and that was when I finally noticed something that made the situation much more awkward. I was a growing lad with a whirlwind of hormones currently storming inside my body, so it's only natural that being so intimately close with the opposite sex would do something to me.

Morning wood sure is a bitch.

"Sabrina, wake up we gotta go." Those rather abrupt words were what woke her up from sleep and caused her to stir up from slumber. Sabrina grumbled in a annoyance at being woken up, she's never been a morning person, in fact when she was acting as the Gym Leader of Saffron City the Gym always opened at 11 AM. This was purely to give her some extra beauty sleep. She knows that it's a bad habit, she's tried to wake up earlier, but for some unknown reason she has never been able to curb that little tendency. The fact that she never much cared to curb it might be the reason that it lingers so stubbornly, but she'd never admit that out loud.

But, despite her eyelids resistance, she did manage to open her eyes and was met with her first sight of the day. Asher's gorgeous golden eyes staring directly into her own crimson ones. The two of them both have very peculiar eyes, she used to bullied for having eyes the same colour as blood. The other kids would say she looked 'creepy' because of it, but Asher has complimented her on them numerous times. Seeing his face so close to hers was enough to make her chest feel tighter once more. She really needs to learn what that means, that strange feeling, she knows that she isn't sick, but perhaps she caught something.

Remembering the night before Sabrina felt whatever strange feeling that was in her chest before promptly vanish and be replaced by sympathy, he's been through a whirlwind of trauma, yet he seems mostly unaffected by it, part of her wonders how much willpower it must take to put your entire life behind you for the sake of building yourself a better future. More than she could muster, she'll admit that. He's grown even higher in her own image of him.

Why are they so close together though? They did sleep in the same bed, but-

Sabrina then realised that she was practically on top of him, upon looking down she also realised that her legs were wrapped around his waist in a very tight and secure manner.

Her face suddenly felt a few degrees hotter when she realised what had happened. Or rather what she'd done. She's been told by Asher a few times that she's a 'sleep hugger'. And, though she loathes to admit it, he's not wrong to think that. She hasn't the faintest idea of why she she clings onto Asher so tightly whenever the two of them are in bed together. It's almost something that she does subconsciously, it's extremely embarrassing for her... but she will admit that sleeping on top of him is very comfortable.

However, her thoughts of embarrassment, among other things, were put aside when she felt something strange poke part of her thigh. She looked down to see that she was being poked by... something coming out of Asher's tracks?

Her brain ran through what exactly she was looking at... and she came up blank. This was a strange situation for her, she rarely came across things that she didn't know. The fact that Asher wasn't panicking at something hard poking out of his pants gave her the impression that he wasn't being hurt by whatever... this was. Maybe he just had something in his pocket?

But she didn't get the chance to properly analyse what was happening to her friend, instead she was grabbed by the waist and flipped over so that she was by his side instead of on top of him, he then turned away from her and said in a rushed tone." We should get going, I don't wanna miss who I'm gonna battle."

Sabrina suddenly asked." What was that just now?" He was acting strangely, he seemed to be displaying signs of discomfort and awkwardness for whatever reason. Did it have something to do with what was happening to his pants?

He kept his back turned to her as he rubbed the back of his head before answering her question with another question." What do you mean by that?" Sabrina noted that his voice seemed more tense and stiff than usual, the way he was acting suggested he really didn't want to give her an answer. But Sabrina still pushed.

She pointed at her own crotch and explained in an innocent tone as she stared intently at the back of his head." You had something hard in your pocket, is there a reason for that or-"

The purple haired girl was immediately cut off by the brown haired boy though as he turned around with his hands suddenly in his pockets, almost to hide his... situation. He had a look of surprise on his face though." Wait, back up for a minute... do you not know what just happened?" He seemed genuinely perplexed at that, something which made her slightly embarrassed. She was used to being smarter than people several times her age, being looked at as though she were just a clueless child wasn't something that she was used to.

Sabrina could only give a confused tilt of her head at his expression. What was he talking about, the way he worded that sentence made it sound as though what just occurred was something that she should be aware of. Whilst her powers don't 'make her smarter' per say, her intelligence is technically increased by them. She simply thinks at an inhuman rate, the second an opponent release a pokemon she's already thought of the perfect solution to defeat them. She can solve most maths problems near instantly, and her memory is practically photographic. As a result she isn't used to being clueless in... well anything.

Asher turned away and muttered something to himself before turning back to her and just asking." Has anyone ever told you where babies come from?"

That's an odd question to ask. But, now that she thinks about it she doesn't really know how people have children, it's just something that she never really questioned. She doesn't really like reading peoples minds other than to battle them, she's never felt the need to know what another person is thinking other than to give her pokemon an edge. But why would he bring that up now?

She just shook her head at him and in response he gave a flabbergast look. His next question was in a slightly worried tone of voice." I'm sorry, but you're nearly fourteen and you have no idea about sex and stuff, didn't your paren- oh that actually kind of makes sense." He gained an expression of slight amusement, as though he found the situation funny.

What's so funny though? Also what is sex?

She sat up so that he legs were hanging off the bed and she just asked with curiosity." What's sex?" She'd never heard the term before, actually that's not true. She vaguely recalls her father using the term a few times, but when she asked they just said 'I'll tell you about it when you're older'. She never really thought much of it after that.

Hearing that he sits down next to her, she noted that his hands were still in his pockets. Likely to cover whatever was happening to him.

He just looked her in the eye and said." Look, I'm not your parent or anything. I can tell you about sex if you want, but I'll warn you that hearing about it for the first time can be pretty awkward. Frankly I don't really want to tell you about it. But, if you want to know then I'll just tell you. Is that what you want?" He seemed to cringe slightly at his own words, but otherwise he maintained a strangely serious expression. Very unlike him.

Sabrina suddenly felt slightly bashful at how serious he was all of a sudden. He was making a massive deal about this 'sex' subject, and yet she had zero knowledge on the subject despite how he's making all of this out to be common knowledge, she feels rather childish all of a sudden. Still her curiosity got the better of her and she simply nodded, not feeling like she could do much more.

Asher groaned a little at that, almost like he hated that she picked yes, but still obliged her and began to explain the 'miracle of life' as he put it.

She then proceeded to have her mind blown.

I felt some awkwardness linger in the air as I basically gave Sabrina 'The talk'. It was pretty awkward for me, but I could console myself with fact that I wasn't blushing up a storm like Sabrina was. It was a surprise that she didn't actually know about any of this stuff before to be honest, but I guess that I shouldn't be that surprised. People in this new world don't really swear that much, oh sure swear words exist, but you aren't gonna find degenerates like me who swear their heads off all the time. I suppose it's a good thing that people actually have pretty clean mouths in this place, but a person should really know about this stuff before they hit puberty.

To be fair I don't know much more than the basics on a biological level of how babies are made, but I'm well informed enough and I can confidently say that I gave her the barebone basics on how to fuck another human being. Yay, ten points for gryffindor, and all that shit.

When I was finished with my little talk Sabrina was blushing quite furiously, which was a rare sight considering how composed she usually was, and she couldn't seem to meet my eye. She was clearly embarrassed, to be fair it's perfectly understandable given what we were talking about, hearing about the birds and the bees from the guy you have a crush on is probably a really fucking weird experience; even for her. I just really hope that my explanation cleared up any questions that she might have, I don't want her to be sexually confused or anything.

An awkward silence seemed to make the air in the room somehow thicken, Sabrina was unable to meet my eye for a moment, but soon her eyes seemed to sharpen and the blush on her cheeks receded from crimson to pink. She mustered up the courage to meet my eye and just said." Thank you for telling me about... sex." She seemed to falter at that last word and look away slightly as the pink dust on her cheeks became just slightly more prominent. Cute.

I on the other hand wasn't anywhere near as embarrassed to talk about this particular subject. Whilst this body might basically be a walking tornado of hormones, in the end I had the brain of an adult. I'm not some awkward inexperienced teen that hardly even knows he likes girls, I've had sex before. Not that many times but enough. I've also just never been the kind of guy to get embarrassed for... anything really. It's the same reason why I could literally just snatch a mic out of the hand of an announcer and proceed to clip the balls off an entire region. In life you'll go longer if you learn to grow thick skin. Well I froze to death, but I still stand by that statement.

The point is I'm not some shy little boy that easily gets flushed. So, I'll save Sabrina from her own embarrassment. After having a little fun with her of course.

I smiled at the psychic girl and grabbed her hand so that she'd finally get to her feet. She seemed to notice this and some of the awkwardness that lingered in the air dissipated as I dragged her along to put on a pair of shoes.

Once she was fully kitted out I spoke from behind her. "Come on we gotta go, we were already late before, I lost even more time because of you and now we won't make it in time on foot, so-"

I grinned mischievously and quickly swept Sabrina off her feet so that she was in a bridal carry being held in my two arms. Huh, she was weirdly light. Sabrina reacted to this by yelping as her entire face went a few shades redder. I then put my lips near her ear and whispered."- you gotta teleport us there, can you do that honey?" I was grinning stupidly the entire time as Sabrina seemed to combust from embarrassment and a pink psychic aura surrounded the two of us. The conveniences of being friends with a psychic.

So far today has been fun.

"Don't do that again." Sabrina glared at me as we walked inside the Conference's main front building. Maybe she would have intimidated a regular guy, but there was one little fact that took away from her intimidation factor. Her face was still pink from leftover embarrassment.

When we teleported in we did so rather... wonkily to be honest. Maybe her being a little... out of focus during the teleportation process had something to do with it. Either way we teleported a few meters above where I'm guessing she was intending. I took the blunt of it cos she was on top of me and I'm just built different than your average scrub these days, overall we were fine.

But nevertheless I still held up my arms in mock-surrender." I'm sorry I'm sorry, but I can't help it. Would you believe me if I said that you were so breathtakingly gorgeous that there's just something that compels me to sweep you up in my arms and cuddle you to death?" I questioned with a tone that gave her the message that I was joking.

Sabrina surprised me though, instead of blushing even further it actually started to lessen significantly, she closed her eyes and seemed to breathe in smoothly as psychic-type energy faintly surrounded her.

Did she just-

I raised an eyebrow at her." Did you just use Calm Mind to help you with your blushing?" That was a little disappointing honestly, I was looking forward to teasing her some more. Still that is a cool trick, I wonder what other psychic-type moves she can use.

She opened her crimson eyes after a second and this time her blush was gone. She was back to her normal stoic self, but she seemed to have a slightly smug aura about her, as if she'd won one over against me. Wait are her lips curved up slightly?

Oh. She smirking at me. Oh you- only I get to do that!

"Calm Mind. That's a neat little trick, but it must be a little embarrassing for you to have to rely on your powers to control your emotions like that." Last night doesn't count. That was a one-time thing I tell ya. A one-time thing!

My words made her cheeks dust pink slightly at being found out instantly and her smirk dropped, but if you weren't looking then you wouldn't even see it. Oh well, I guess that's all I'd be seeing of flushed Sabrina for a while. Too bad, she looked cute.

I shifted the conversation in another direction suddenly. I was probably being too ruthless in my quest to embarrass Sabrina, if I keep going too hard like that then it'll just become annoying for her. So in light of that I change out my smirk for just a regular smiling face, I back up and give Sabrina a little space, and I try to change the subject by staring at who was battling who in the top 4.

I stared up at the screen which displayed pictures of all our faces. One was a red haired looking guy who I didn't recognise who was going to battle against Clair at 5 PM. He was an NPC, he's probably gonna bite it in all honesty. Then we have Clair, she was ice faced and looking determined in the photo, but I couldn't take her seriously for one little fact.

She's wearing a cape. Personally I'm surprised that she has enough pride to wear that thing and not cry in a corner from how many people probably troll her for that. If it were back in my world she'd probably be getting death threats for how dumb she'd look. Or maybe she's just so intimidating to a regular person that they can't even muster up the balls to make fun of her shitty fashion sense. Kinda like how Lance wears one but nobody's even questioning him. He's like Homelander, if you question him then you get lasered in half. Only in this case when you make fun of him he sics a fuckin Dragonite on you.

And finally you have my opponent. He was a guy with blue hair that covered his right eye, very anime like, and he had this kind of emo aura about him, like he'd tell you to fuck off, but in reality he just wants a friend. Falkner, I'm fighting the Johtonian Gym Leader. And I'm a ground specialist. Quite the type disadvantage I'm at.

I grinned at that. This could be fun.

"Looks like I'm fighting that flying guy." I mused to Sabrina; who was standing right next to me. She looked like she regained her wits since her voice was back to it's usual monotone speech.

"Yes. That could prove to be a challenge, given that seven of your eight pokemon are ground-types. Do you think that you'll win?" She finally gazed at me without flushing and saw that I had my usual stupid grin plastered on my face.

I just shook my head though." I don't think I'll win, I know it. I didn't come this far just to lose now afterall. He's going down." I spoke with complete confidence that I could snipe down those little birds.

Even if Falkner has the type advantage that won't stop me. I've been dominating the competition here for a reason. He won't beat me by flying in the air, if he thinks that he can beat me by looking down on us then well... I'll just have to drag him back down to earth.

If you enjoyed reading this story and want to read more then just head to my P atreon at The Magician 565 to read 8 Chapters in advance.

So, yeah. I figured that I'd build up some tension between those two, and why not give Asher an embarrassing moment that came from just being a young lad, because we should be honest here, there aren't many upsides to being a kid again. Sure, he has an extra decade or so of life, but he's also got other problems. Namely puberty. Anyway, thank you all for reading, and thank you to my Patrons for your support, just having my P atreon continue to grow is a good motivator for me to continue writing and refining my skills as a writer.
