Chapter 1468
She Swallowed Hard
Earlier:
Cameron and the girls were at her hangar at Van Nuys Airport. They were ready to go for a flight in the B-25.
She wanted Savannah to be the pilot and Young Jesse as the copilot. Based on Camille's reports, Young Jesse was ready. She possessed plenty of twin engine flight time.
Savannah wanted to defer to Cameron.
"You can be the pilot, Cameron." Savannah said. "I don't mind."
Cameron smiled at Savannah's thoughtfulness.
"I want you to do it." Cameron said. "Have her go over every procedure from preflight to five thousand feet."
Savannah thought she should run through everything to start out with.
"Don't you want me to tell her first?" Savannah asked.
Camille told Cameron that Young Jesse knew the B-25 manual forwards and backwards. When she'd been in the nose with John, she'd heard Camille and Young Jesse go over all of the procedures twice. She wanted to see how much Young Jesse remembered on her own.
"Have her tell you everything on her own." Cameron said. "You can see how well she's trained this way."
Savannah and Young Allison both thought it was a different approach.
"It's going to take awhile." Young Allison said.
Cameron wanted it to take some time. She was concerned with what Young Jesse and Young Allison both wanted. They wanted their Metal girls to be there with them. She hadn't planned on it, but set things in motion. She asked CamNet to take care of it.
CamNet specifically asked her about Cammy. She looked at Savannah and asked CamNet to find something to keep Cammy occupied and happy instead. She didn't think Cammy would be necessary for Savannah any longer. She wanted to move her life forward. She was sure it would happen today.
'Today is the day.' Cameron thought.
Earlier:
Randy and Brian were already on their way back to Palmdale with the UH-1. They'd originally been told Young Allison would be preoccupied for the rest of the day. CamNet gave them new orders. It appeared the plan changed. They turned the Iroquois around.
Their first goal was to pick up Sheila and Ally. Ned and Wes would be sent to retrieve their vehicle.
They arrived in back of a closed video store. Sheila and Ally were waiting for them. The chopper rapidly set down.
They boarded the Huey and it took back off. They'd only been on the ground for fifteen seconds.
They picked up Camille from a park. It was another quick 'touch and go'. They proceeded to their next location. They let Ally and Sheila off behind a closed electronics store when they picked up Anna. It was all very different from their normal procedure. It was all 'last minute' changes to things already set into motion.
Camille and Anna wanted to know their mission and destination.
They could only tell them it was to Van Nuys Airport.
The lack of information caused Camille and Anna some distress and apprehension. They checked their phones for any updates. There were none. There was no com traffic either. They were both aware there could be and it wasn't provided to them. It only seemed to make the anxiety a little worse.
Savannah and Young Allison both listened to Young Jesse go over every procedure and what needed to be done specifically and why. Both of the girls threw a couple of 'monkey wrenches' at her during the procedure to see how she would respond if something went wrong. She was ready for every scenario.
"I don't believe you missed a single thing." Savannah said. "I thought maybe I would need to add something. It seems like you reminded me of things I'd already forgotten."
Young Allison was just as impressed. She learned Young Jesse was jet qualified as well as multi engine and helicopter qualified. Young Jesse's training was more extensive than hers.
"You seem to know an awful lot." Young Allison said. "You should be congratulated for your hard work."
Young Jesse knew the training paid off. It was still somewhat boring. There was never any action.
"All we do is train and practice Down Under." Young Jesse said. "The flying breaks up the monotony."
Cameron listened as well and thought she did excellent. Camille would need to be commended.
Young Jesse felt they were ready to go.
"Are we ready for the startup?" Young Jesse asked.
Cameron paused and looked up out of the top turret.
The girls all looked at each other. It was different.
Cameron dropped back down.
"As soon as we get some more crew members to assist us we can." Cameron said.
A few seconds later they could all hear the distinctive 'chop chop chop' of an Iroquois approaching.
Young Allison looked out Savannah's window.
"That's the Huey I flew here in." Young Allison said. "It should be Brian and Randy. I thought they went back to Palmdale."
Young Allison wondered where they'd been. She wondered if it was something they needed to be worried about. She thought maybe she should let things play out a little more before she said anything.
The helicopter touched down and lifted off again in just a few seconds.
Camille and Anna were standing there once the UH-1 was gone. They hurried over to the Mitchell.
Savannah thought it was Cammy at first before she realized it was Camille. She looked back at Cameron. Cameron held her gaze. They both understood what it meant. She swallowed hard. It meant Cameron wanted her. Maybe today was the day. If it was, it was a long time in coming.
Young Jesse and Young Allison were both thrilled to see their Metal girls on the way to the Mitchell. They both thanked Cameron and meant it. They also both looked at Savannah and knew Cammy wasn't invited. No one said anything. The implication was obvious.
Cameron took a fire extinguisher and went down out of the front fuselage hatch. Camille and Anna both thanked her. They each offered to take over the fire extinguisher duty but Cameron told them she had it covered.
Cameron stood off to the side of the starboard engine.
"I'm going to let you do everything." Savannah said. "You tell me what you want done on my side."
Camille and Anna came up through the hatch. Anna took up her usual place in the top turret.
Savannah offered the pilot's seat to Camille, but she declined.
Camille moved to the jump seat behind Savannah so she could watch Young Jesse from a diagonal view. She would be able to see everything she did from where she was at.
Young Allison would need to see where Cameron wanted to be. She could always take up the tail gun position.
Young Jesse told Camille what all she was going to do.
Everyone agreed Young Jesse was ready.
"Clear." Young Jesse said as she looked out her side window at Cameron.
Cameron gave her a 'thumbs up'.
The big R2600 started to turn over to clear the cylinders.
Savannah looked over to count the revolutions along with Young Jesse. Young Jesse called them out.
Young Jesse gave the engine some spark and the big radial fired up with a cloud of gray smoke. The 'muscle car' throb of the exhaust filled the air. She adjusted the throttle and the engine ran smoothly in a short time.
Cameron moved to the port side and the startup procedure was repeated with another big cloud of gray smoke. She made her way into the fuselage.
Young Allison got up from her seat in case Cameron wanted to sit in back of Young Jesse. She did. Young Allison went over the top of the bomb bay and strapped in at the waist gunner position. She could look out of either side's gun position. She really wondered why they didn't bring any of the others along. There was a lot of empty space.
She looked forward and could see Anna still looked around them from the top turret. She took out her phone and asked CamNet to see what was happening inside the Resistance base. It was CamNet's advice she not look at everything. She said people were entitled to privacy. CamNet said it was a lesson Savannah taught her.
Young Allison wanted to know what her mother was up to.
CamNet said she could only show her all the information if she 'ordered' her to do so.
Young Allison wondered what it was all about. It meant Cameron or Savannah put a 'hold' on it. It wouldn't stop her if she insisted. It wasn't the proper use of an 'order'. The point was made. She looked forward again and Cameron looked back at her. She was sure she did something to displease Cameron. She put her phone away. She only needed to remind herself anything that happened at the base was what Cameron wanted to happen.
Young Jesse released the brakes. There was a mild jolt and the B-25 started to move. The B-25 was very responsive. She didn't give it much throttle.
"I can feel the power." Young Jesse said.
Savannah wanted to encourage her and praise her.
"You're going to do everything right up until takeoff." Savannah said. "You're doing a great job so far."
Young Jesse was a little nervous. She'd done all this in her head and through simulations. Camille made sure she was trained on this aircraft. She understood now Camille wanted her to look good in front of Cameron and Savannah. She glanced over at Camille and nodded.
Savannah double checked everything as they moved along. Anna kept a watch all around them for any danger.
The usual crowd gathered at the 'Great War' themed restaurant fence. They taxied on by.
Young Jesse slowed as she neared the end of the taxiway. The tower gave them clearance to pass over in front of One Six Left, the shorter east runway.
They paused and Young Jesse ran up the engines to test the load. There was a thunderous roar as the two big R2600 engines produced a lot of horsepower. They were given clearance to proceed. She moved the Mitchell forward to line up with One Six Right.
Anna took one last look around them in all directions. Everything was clear. She moved out of the top turret and went over the top of the bomb bay and joined Young Allison at the waist gun position. They were both strapped in.
They were ready for takeoff.
Young Jesse looked at Savannah.
"You got it?" Young Jesse asked.
Savannah was ready. She wanted to offer Young Jesse a little more.
"I got it." Savannah said. "Stay on the controls with me."
Cameron and Camille both watched to make sure everything was good. It was.
Savannah started out in a rolling start and worked the power up smoothly. The Mitchell thundered down the runway and gently lifted off just past the tower. She kept it to a hundred feet off of the runway to build up some air speed. As she neared the end of the runway she made an aggressive climb and banked off to the west slightly.
Young Jesse did everything with Savannah. It felt almost like she was the one in control. She'd retracted the landing gear and raised the flaps for Savannah when required.
In just a few minutes they could see the Pacific Ocean ahead of them.
The color of the ocean reminded Young Jesse of Savannah's eyes. They were both beautiful to look at.
Cammy was pleased with everything Ally did. She was OK with it, but not for the reasons things were being done. She was aware Ally was a little miffed at Sheila.
Sheila didn't like Ally rubbing her face in it. She was more attuned to what awaited them. She thought about arriving unannounced but decided to call Leticia ahead of time.
She made the call to ask Leticia if she was going to be available.
"Hello, love." Sheila said.
Leticia recognized the voice instantly. She was filled with joy and excitement.
"Sue!" Leticia said excitedly. "I knew you'd call."
Sheila didn't want to get too explicit.
"I needed to get caught up on things after the cruise." Sheila said.
Leticia was appreciative and grateful to Sue for the positive turn on her life.
"I did too." Leticia said. "Thank you for everything you did for me. It's worked out great with Mary and Laura. My car runs perfectly and I really don't have any worries."
Sheila thought about her 'neural interface' with Jesse.
"No worries. It's what I like to hear." Sheila said. "We use the term Down Under."
Leticia already set some plans in motion. She wanted to include Sue as well.
"I was about to go to get something to eat with Mary and Laura." Leticia said.
Sheila thought it was something they should pass on. They certainly didn't need any more questions or eyebrows raised.
"I already ate." Sheila said. "You girls go ahead. We can meet some place or go back to your place."
Leticia clearly understood the implications. Sue wanted to be with her. She didn't think Sue would be alone. She'd said 'we'.
"Will there be anyone else?" Leticia asked.
Sheila thought she would be pleased.
"Barbara and Peggy are available." Sheila said.
Sheila heard some discussion in the background.
"Mary and Laura said it's fine with them." Leticia said.
They shared some more small talk and set up a meeting time.
Cammy wanted to know a little more about what was going to happen.
"What was all that about?" Cammy asked. "It sounds like the girls from the ship."
Ally wanted to remind Cammy of what they told her earlier.
"Now you know why you'll be 'de-briefed' and do some 'under cover' work." Ally said.
It sounded like a real treat to Cammy.
Sheila handed her phone back to Cammy.
"I put all the highlights of my visual experiences with them on here." Sheila said.
Cammy wondered why Sheila did it. She didn't need to have her visual files on a phone. There could only be one reason.
"It seems a little redundant." Cammy said. "You planned to show these to someone. I bet it was Claire or Jesse. It was probably both of them."
Sheila wanted to show all the girls, including Savannah. She decided not to mention it. She didn't want to rub Cammy the wrong way right now.
"You guessed it." Sheila said. "I wanted them to share with the girls too sometime. They missed out on the ship. They only saw them briefly on a couple of occasions. There's enough there to share for everyone. The girls are very active and receptive. They're all willing to give as much as they take."
Ally didn't think the girls would be ready for over an hour now. They needed to find something to pass the time.
"We have some time to kill." Ally said.
Ally's statement made Sheila think of her unfinished business in San Francisco. There was no reason they couldn't act locally.
"Maybe we can find some future Scavengers to kill instead." Sheila said.
Cammy didn't want to get sidetracked. She didn't want to get blood on her clothes if she was going to see the new girls.
"I just want to meet the girls." Cammy said.
Violence always seemed to excite Sheila almost as much as sex did.
"Sorry, love, you're along for the ride." Sheila said. "I want a target. It will get me in the mood for some good sex to spill a little blood first."
Ally wanted to get another dig in on Sheila. She was still upset she needed to ride in the back and then couldn't drive.
"See, I told you she was insane." Ally said. "Nobody thinks like that anywhere, unless they're in the 'nut house'."
Cammy could think of a few examples.
"Natural Born Killers do." Cammy said.
Sheila watched the movie several times.
"I saw the movie." Sheila said. "I liked it. The violence stimulated me."
Ally saw a chance to get another blow in on Sheila. She decided to take a twist from another movie to do it.
"Crazy is as crazy does." Ally said.
Sheila didn't like the insinuation.
"Look who's talking." Sheila said.
Cammy didn't want the verbal jabbing to go too far. Since they were on the subject of Natural Born Killers, she wanted to point out something in the movie.
"Did you note the one scene where the male carried the same weapons as 'The Executioner'?" Cammy asked.
Sheila liked the concept of a human who'd killed even more than a Terminator.
"Mack Bolan should be on the Resistance Team." Sheila said. "Anyone who answers to the title, 'The Executioner', gets a pass in my book."
Ally looked around. She spotted some trouble.
"There are some taggers over there." Ally said as she pointed.
Sheila looked over. She was aware of some of the previous activity in San Francisco.
"Let's do what Dan and Frank did." Sheila said.
Cammy wondered what it was. She didn't like the eyesore taggers created.
"Did they terminate them?" Cammy asked. "It's one way to stop a vile crime."
Sheila was very pleased with the reports from Dan and Frank. She believed the punishment fit the crime.
"No, they did something even better." Sheila said. "I'll show you."
Ally quickly looked around them. She was aware most of the 'cleanup duty' in San Francisco by Dan and Frank was done at night. It was much easier to operate under the cover of darkness.
"It's broad daylight." Ally said. "You need to play it cool."
Sheila didn't think it was a big deal. She was going to do it anyway.
"I'll be careful." Sheila said.
Cammy and Ally both doubted it.
Sarah and Jesse both shared wild sex at first and then in a loving manner. They were in the process of kissing and touching now.
Sarah partook from Jesse's engorged breasts some more. It happened a few times during the wild sex and love making. She could see and feel a major difference between Jesse and Young Jesse in breast size.
Jesse enjoyed what Sarah did right now. It was very soothing to her and exciting as they kissed every time Sarah switched sides.
"I better take it easy." Sarah said. "Precious may need you."
Jesse wanted more.
'Not as much as I need you.' Jesse thought.
She remembered her duty was to Precious.
"Maybe I should check." Jesse said. "Vanna wanted to go out."
Jesse called Samantha. It sounded like she would be up.
"I might need to go there soon." Jesse said. "Samantha said Vanna was going out with Allison."
Sarah knew what was important. It wasn't her.
"It's fine." Sarah said. "Precious comes first."
Jesse and Sarah both thanked each other and said how much they appreciated what happened. Nothing was asked about Claire or Young Jesse. It seemed everyone was up for a little discretion.
Sarah moved over Jesse this round and they made love one more time. They each finished a few more times.
Jesse kept some of her clothes in Claire's room. She threw on a clean pair of shorts and slipped a top on. She didn't bother to button it. She gave Sarah a long kiss, flipped off the light and left. The door didn't fully close.
Sarah watched her go. She was about to get up and get dressed but she wanted to relax for a few more minutes. She was very content with her life right now. She just needed to rest her eyes for a few moments. She soon drifted off in the dark room.
Jesse held her top closed as she looked in on Jan and Summer. They were doing fine.
The girls greeted her.
Jesse let go of her top as she turned to leave. It opened right before she left.
Jan and Summer both saw everything. It was really nothing new to them. They'd both spent time peeking in doors which weren't closed tight. There was no shortage of them.
Jesse passed John's room. She paused at the door and put her hand on the handle. She wanted to knock off a quickie with John. She went to turn the handle but it seemed really hard to do for some reason.
All of a sudden she felt Precious needed her right now. She hurried to Riley's room.
Jan watched Summer close her eyes again. She'd seen it before.
Summer opened her eyes in a few seconds.
"What just happened?" Jan asked.
Summer wanted to make sure her mother wasn't disturbed. She could feel what Jesse wanted to do before she went to see Precious.
"I just needed to rest my eyes for a moment." Summer said.
Jan understood.
"My mom does it a lot." Jan said. "She always falls asleep then."
Summer looked in the direction of her mother's room.
"It happens." Summer said.
The girls resumed their studies.
Jesse arrived in the nursery.
Samantha looked surprised to see her so soon.
"You got here fast." Samantha said.
Jesse experienced a need to respond.
"I felt 'a calling'." Jesse said.
Samantha wasn't sure what it meant. Maybe it was Australian slang for something.
"Riley is really frustrated." Samantha said. "Nothing happened on one side right now. I'm glad you're early. I can see you're ready to go."
Jesse opened her top up all the way.
"I aim to please." Jesse said.
Riley entered with Precious.
"Your outfit is cute." Riley said.
Jesse looked at everything she wore. She looked at everything else which was visible.
"Do you mean the open top part or the clothes?" Jesse asked.
Riley tried to suppress her excitement.
"It's both." Riley said.
Jesse looked at her clothes again. They weren't hers.
"I just threw these on in Claire's room." Jesse said. "I must have taken her things. The room was dark. I was in a hurry to get here."
Riley handed Precious to Jesse and left the nursery. She seemed uneasy.
"Is she OK?" Jesse whispered.
Samantha wanted to be with Riley.
"She will be." Samantha said.
Samantha was about to leave the nursery and join Riley when Precious seemed a little fussy. Her programming directives kicked in and she decided to stay where Precious was at. Precious came before Riley.
Riley felt very down. She was very disappointed with her body. She thought about what Jesse said about leaving Claire's room in a hurry. It should mean Claire was still in there.
She looked back at the nursery door and slipped out of her room and headed for Claire's room the back way.
She paused for a bit and slipped inside a room as some voices drew near. It sounded like Allison and Vanna. She thought they'd left earlier. They were gone in a few moments. She looked out the door and hurried around the back way to Claire's room.
She paused at the corner and peeked around it. She saw Claire's door wasn't shut tight. It was an unspoken invitation for anyone to enter.
Riley lightly moistened her lips and entered the room. The room was dark and it was difficult to see after being in the bright hallway. She could see 'Claire' resting on the bed. She looked naked.
She stripped off her clothes. She was going to go for it. She saw 'Claire' look up a little. He open legs indicated she was ready for more.
Riley couldn't contain herself. She hadn't done this in years and she was going to do it no matter what.
She moved into position. She swallowed hard. She was at least going to get a taste in before Claire stopped her. She was sure she was no different than Pavlov's dog right now.
Vanna and Allison left their room. Cam and Holly were with them. They wanted a mission to take some of the load off of Savannah.
Allison didn't like her younger self out there either. It should be her who faced the dangers of the future, not Young Allison.
She still trained and stayed in shape. The Metal girls made sure of it. She'd been ready to fight a few times when they were out. This should be no different.
"What is it you have planned for us?" Allison asked.
The girls walked down the hall. They were headed for the carpool.
Holly wanted to keep things simple.
"This is just recon." Holly said.
Vanna didn't want a fake assignment.
"It's what they all say." Vanna said. "It better be something real. If it's not, Allison and I are going to make it real."
Cam and Holly looked at each other.
"It is." Cam said.
They exited into the carpool.
Allison moved to the driver's door and got in. She wanted to have control of the vehicle for a specific reason.
"I'm driving." Allison said. "If I don't like the target, I'll find my own."
Cam and Holly looked at each other. Her move was unexpected.
Holly went to get in the back with Cam.
Vanna wanted a little additional protection between her and a crushed front end.
"No way…." Vanna said. "You can ride in the front with Allison. She'll probably stack it up somewhere in a pile of wrecked autos."
Allison was mildly offended. She thought she was a good 'skill driver'.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence." Allison said. "I barely dented the fender on the last SUV I drove."
Vanna wanted to remind her of something else.
"Not to mention the squirrel." Vanna said.
Allison didn't feel she was responsible for the actions of an animal.
"It wasn't my fault." Allison said. "It made a bad choice."
Vanna was about to point out Allison made no effort to brake or swerve to miss it. She didn't want to make the atmosphere contentious.
They all got in the SUV and buckled up.
Cam checked Vanna's restraints.
Allison started the SUV and pulled away.
There was a metal scraping noise along Vanna's side of the SUV.
Allison kept going.
Vanna felt very uneasy.
She swallowed hard.
Claire moved over on top of John and took over. She could tell John held back so she could finish. She did so twice. It was a new experience for her in every way. It also tired her out more than she'd expected. She really felt it in her legs. What she felt elsewhere made it all worth it.
She didn't want to leave John hanging. He went to move her back up next to him. She slid down instead. She wanted John to finish at least once the same way he first made her finish.
It was something Paul always made her do. He never did anything for her after she did. She got no benefit out of it for herself. She never swallowed either.
She worked on John and made rapid progress. Then it happened. She was very pleased she'd satisfied John. She'd touched herself and made it too at the same time. She tried something new as well.
She swallowed hard.
CamNet's male Terminator went over the fence. He stood on the crate he'd brought with him. He began to push on the bathroom window to open it. He gave it a slow steady push. He wanted to break the latch, but make the least amount of noise possible. He needed to consider the possibility someone may be in the process of using the restroom as well.
He heard the latch snap. He held his silenced M9 in his right hand. He slowly slid the window open. His Beretta preceded him into the bathroom. There was no target. He quickly tucked his M9 away and pulled himself up through the window. He looked back out the way he'd come. He didn't spot anything or anyone. He looked at the crate below the window. There wasn't much he could do about it. He carefully slid the window closed.
He checked his phone for the drone images of the attacker and the outside of the building he was currently in. He could see the attacker was a few blocks out. He opened the bathroom door and looked both directions down a hall. No one was spotted. He decided to make sure it was clear in the front before he entered the rear.
It was most likely the attacker would strike the front of the building rather than drive around the side to the rear. It was also possible the attacker may return to where he'd entered previously. It was through the property behind the building he was in. He doubted it.
There were several doors along the way to the front. He carefully opened each one. The second one he opened, he noted there was a tripwire. He was aware he would need to check for more booby traps. He disarmed it. He moved to the front of the building and found one more. He disarmed it too. He made his way back down the hall. There were two more rooms past the bathroom before he entered the workroom floor. One of those was booby-trapped. He disarmed it as well.
He reached for the door to enter the work room area. He heard a vehicle start. He started to open the door but hesitated. He carefully opened it slowly. It was booby trapped. He could hear the vehicle drive away. He quickly moved to disarm the booby trap. He took a look at his phone before he entered the work room area. He could see a van drive out of the building. He carefully opened the door into the workroom area with his silenced M9 ready. He didn't spot anyone. He knew he would need to be on the lookout for any more booby traps.
He took one quick look around. He didn't spot any other personnel. There was one other vehicle parked inside of the building. He moved through the building with his silenced M9 in front of him. There were no other personnel spotted. He came across one other tripwire near the vehicle. He disarmed it. He looked at the vehicle itself. There were boxes inside of it. He was sure it was booby trapped.
He made a quick report to CamNet. He took out his phone again and watched the van turn out onto the street. The drone image showed the attacker was one block away. It was debatable what would happen next. More than likely the attacker would go after the van. There was a good chance he would fire a rocket at the building as he passed. He was told to seek cover.
CamNet's Terminator waited to see how events played out. He made sure he was as far away from the vehicle as possible, but still near the rear door if he needed to get out.
Minutes ago:
The man inside the building took a few of blocks of C-4 along with the detonators and timers. He placed them around the building. He would try to drive the van out. It seems like his best bet.
He set the last booby trap near the other vehicle. The rear end of it was loaded with blocks of C-4. He didn't want to be around if someone tripped it. He got into the van and started it. He drove out of the building. He needed to run over the legs of several of the men who'd been taken down earlier. None of them moved since he'd spotted them lying on the ground. He hoped they were all dead as the van drove over them. He didn't hear any cries of pain so he figured they probably were dead. He didn't have time to stop and check.
The man waited for bullets to impact the van but none did. He wasn't really sure why. Perhaps the sniper had anticipated someone would attempt to go out the front instead of the rear. They could be out there waiting for him right now. He came alongside the building at a slow pace. He'd checked the monitors one more time before he left and hadn't spotted any vehicles or personnel moving about.
He pulled out onto the street. He started to make a left hand turn. He could see a vehicle coming. He immediately swung the van to the right side. He thought it might be the sniper. He wasn't going to chance it. The van swung wide across the street because he'd already started to make the left hand turn. The left wheels bounced up on the curb on the other side and off almost immediately. He punched it and the tires broke loose because of the angle he was at. The rear end fishtailed slightly. He stayed on the gas and kept going. He was more than a little surprised at what he saw next.
There was a slight 'whoosh' of flame from both sides of the vehicle behind him. He wasn't quite sure what it was. A fraction of a second later there was an explosion at the front of the building he'd just left. It was as he'd suspected. It was one of the attackers. He didn't know if it was the sniper or not. If there was more than one individual in the vehicle, one could drive while the other one shot at him. He decided to turn right at the first street to throw off any shot the sniper might line up on him.
The van fishtailed a little more as he went around the corner hot. He stayed on the gas. He wanted to put some distance between him and whoever was now behind him. At this point, he wished he would have stayed in the building.
The man in the van prepared to take evasive action at the next street and turn right again. Wait, he would need to make it the street after it. He didn't want to drive down the street behind their building in case the sniper was there.
Seconds to go:
The attacker kept track of his surroundings. He was ready to fire the RPG. He decided he would actually stop and open the door and get out. He would fire over the roof of the vehicle. He wanted to have better aim. He didn't spot any opposition on the roof of the building or in front of it or either side.
He was a little surprised to see a van pull out from alongside of the building. It started to turn towards him. The van corrected itself and decided to go in the opposite direction. He wondered if he'd been made. The van popped up on the curb as it completed its right hand turn. The rear end fishtailed. He could hear the tires squeal as the van took off at a high rate of speed.
The attacker repositioned the rocket launcher on the windowsill on the right side. He made sure the rear end of it was past him when it fired. He didn't want to be hit by the rocket blast. As he passed by the building, he fired. He didn't have time to take good aim. The rocket exploded against the side of the building. He watched the van go around the corner to the right. He didn't want to lose it. He didn't stick around to do a damage assessment.
He repositioned the launcher so he could attempt to reload it as he drove. It was going to be awkward no matter how he did it. There was an assault rifle on the floorboard next to him. He pulled his pistol out. He was going to place it next to his right leg. He decided against it and stuck it back in his waistband.
He went around the corner. He didn't come around too fast in case the van would be sideways across the road and there would be an RPG pointed at him. There wasn't. The van was already down the street. He got on the gas but not too much. He still needed to be wary of an attack from the van. He watched the van go past the street behind the building he'd just attacked and turn right at the next street down.
The attacker approached the street at a moderate speed. The van was already halfway down it. He made the turn and continued the pursuit. Since the road was straight, he decided to put a new rocket in the launcher.
CamNet needed more information. As long as there were one or more men inside of the building, it would present a major threat to her Terminator. He was able to go into the building unopposed. He reported no contact as he moved into a hall and through the front of the building. He approached the rear. He reported he heard a vehicle start. Seconds later she watched the van exit the building. She saw it drive over the legs of two of the fallen men by the smoking dumpster. Their legs were all now at a crazy angle. None of the men he'd run over moved. She was sure they were dead. None of them moved since they'd fallen.
Her Terminator reported the building was clear. He'd come across five booby traps. She decided not to fire on the van or the attacker approaching. She figured one of them would take out the other. Whoever survived would still end up going somewhere else. She wanted to find out where.
CamNet watched the events play out at the crossroad junction.
Lena and Tina drove two miles down the road on which they'd been heading previously. They pulled over and waited. They might have to turn around and go back if both vehicles went in a different direction.
They were a little surprised at the action the Gray took when he left the gas station.
The female Fanatic watched the Gray get back into his vehicle. She hurried back to the corner where Jill was parked. She watched the Gray's car start to move. She felt a momentary rush of panic. The front end started to turn in her direction. It then swung over to the right side and he pulled out onto the street. She figured he was one of those people who thought it was necessary to turn the car in the opposite direction and go into the neighboring lane before they made their right hand turn. She would like to tell them the car would turn right just fine if they turn the wheel to the right only. It was another reason why she wanted to make sure he was dead. She hated bad drivers.
She quickly moved up to the edge of the bathroom closest to the pumps. She wanted to see which direction he would turn. She watched him go straight instead of making a left to continue on the highway they'd been on. She didn't think he would go back to the mine. Maybe he would. She decided to watch him a little longer. She was a little surprised to see him turn in behind the diner.
The female Fanatic quickly ran back across the front of the bathrooms and told Jill to pull around the corner and park in front of the restrooms. He wouldn't be able to see their car unless he drove to where they were at.
As soon as Jill saw Jackie and heard what she wanted, she dropped the car into drive and quickly moved around the corner. Jackie told her to wait there. She put the car back in neutral. She watched Jackie carefully look around the corner where she'd just been parked. It made her wonder what was happening.
The female Fanatic watched the Gray's car emerge from behind the diner and continue along the back through the gap between the diner and the motel. It disappeared around the far side of the motel. She waited to see if it came back to the street or if it stayed behind the motel.
Nothing happened. She kept her eye on both sides of the motel. It was possible the Gray might leave the vehicle behind the motel and approach where they were at on foot. She didn't think they'd been made.
Another thirty seconds passed before the Gray's vehicle came around the far side of the motel. It went back onto the highway it had been on previously. It turned right and continued in the direction it had been going originally. She hurried along the front of the restrooms and looked along the side of them where the gas pumps were again. The car stopped at the crossroads and sat for a moment.
It crossed over the junction and continued in the direction it had been going. It was the direction she thought it would go. She motioned for Jill to pull around to the gas pump. She quickly entered the convenience store and gave the attendant a handful of cash. She looked back out and told him the pump number as Jill pulled up. Jill got out of the car and looked at her. She gave her a thumbs up. Jill moved to the gas pump and started fueling.
Once the gas pump started, Jill went into the convenience store. Jackie already selected a number of items. She carried them in a little red basket.
"Pick out anything you want." The female Fanatic said.
Jill added a few items to the red basket.
They went up to the counter and took care of the bill. The pump already stopped.
The female Fanatic and Jill both used the restroom. They both took some wet paper towels with them. They wanted to make sure everything was as fresh as possible. Neither one of them mentioned it. They headed outside and got back into the vehicle.
Swallowed Hard
Is there any real difference
Between a junkyard and a graveyard
The end result is the same
They are places to discard
Words and actions into one's mind
Are easy to flood and bombard
They are often conveyed
Without anyone's regard
What's usually left behind
Is often scared and marred
The path that remains
Seems like more of a hazard
To fix what was done
Will need more than a wizard
Feelings, thoughts and emotions
Are often left burnt and charred
When one's had enough
They turn on the blowhard
When they get their own medicine
They too swallowed hard
Nobody
