Chapter 1511
I'll Be Dead
Cam led the team to the coordinates of where the air shaft opening was supposed to be. There was only exposed rock.
"There's nothing here." Gail said.
Bob and Jim looked around the immediate area.
"It could have been filled in or collapsed. It was built a long time ago." Bob said. "It was in the abandoned part of the mine."
Jim wasn't so sure.
"Maybe the map they drew back then wasn't accurate." Jim said.
Cam felt it must be the issue. There was little precision in the past.
"John Henry, look for any old aerial photos or satellite images after one of the big fires up in this area." Cam said. "All kinds of things appear after the brush is all burnt away."
Cam was aware it was how a hiker found the vehicle which revealed the remains of Fred Jeffers, a man who disappeared in the Twenties. He was an associate of the building magnate Rupert Chandler. It was part of a hostile Terminator operation Cameron stumbled into and needed to track down a few years back. It was the Terminator which experienced a temporal error. The empire he needed to create to correct what his temporal error caused, indicated he was quite a Self Made Man.
John Henry searched through the photos on file. The images Dan and Frank obtained were searched as well. The images produced a potential hit. There was a better area for them to search in. He forwarded the information to them.
Cam looked at the images. One area looked more promising.
"Follow me." Cam said.
She led the team to a small knoll on the hillside.
"This is it." Cam said. "This is where it was."
It appeared the dirt above it was washed down over the area. It was a frequent occurrence in a mountainside burn area during the next rainfall after a fire. There was little vegetation left to hold the dirt in place once it was saturated. Mudslides of various sizes were common.
Bob and Jim set to work with two small shovels. Within two minutes there was a metallic 'clang'. One minute later they unearthed a very rusted piece of metal. It appeared to have been burnt because it was warped and twisted.
Bob pried the top off with the shovel. There was a three foot wide opening below it. There was a rusted grill one foot into the opening. It was clogged with dried mud.
Jim reached down and pulled it free.
They'd brought a braided steel cable with them instead of a rope. They wanted to use it because it was stronger.
Cam wanted to get started. She was ready to take a look.
"I'm going down." Cam said.
Bob was going to protest. He realized it wouldn't do any good. They could help her instead.
"Jim and I will hold the cable." Bob said. "You must use caution."
Cam was ready to go. She decided to take it slow.
"Lower me down." Cam said. "I want you to pause every ten feet for fifteen seconds."
Gail was concerned for Cam. There was no way for them to know what they were about to face.
"What if there's gunfire?" Gail asked.
Jim wanted to play it on the safe side.
"We'll pull her back up." Jim said.
Cam saw things a little differently. She wanted Skynet destroyed.
"If you hear gunfire, come down and join me." Cam said. "We're taking this operation down, one way or another."
They all knew Cam would advance towards the gunfire, instead of away from it.
Summer went over the images with John Henry earlier.
"There is a high probability the diagrams of the interior levels we've received are going to be just as inaccurate as the air shaft location was." Summer said.
John Henry nodded. He believed valuable information was still there.
"They worked with crude instruments during the earlier time period." John Henry said. "It should still give them the general layout."
Summer planned to have CamNet run another temporal mission as soon as they found out more about if there was a giant power cell or not. She would bypass John Henry and John to do it. They needed to get their Terminators out first once a report was received. Michael and Richard were on standby at Cameron's base. She suggested Larry and Hank accompany them.
CamNet would take care of all the details once Summer made a determination.
Based on what they'd found out so far, it appeared Skynet ran a temporal mission to get the mine ready for a Skynet mainframe. It was still speculation.
John Henry looked over at Summer as she communicated with CamNet. He knew he was already out of the loop. He trusted Summer. He wished she would trust him.
He didn't realize Summer wanted to 'protect' him if things turned out badly. She'd done the same thing for the anti-Metal bunker. It would fall on her if there was an 'accident' of some type or radiation was released into the atmosphere.
Summer wouldn't allow the girls to get involved with this like they'd been the last time. Savannah and her sister were almost killed. They wouldn't be endangered again by her actions. The tunnel the anti-Metal faction made was what weakened the passageway she'd planned. It wasn't in her calculations. The water which was redirected wasn't either. It was a lesson learned. Not all of the variables could be controlled all of the time. Even if the ending was inevitable, there could still be hiccups along the way.
CamNet was concerned about how events would play out.
'What if there's a problem?' CamNet typed.
'I'll go there myself this time.' Summer typed.
'I will not allow it.' CamNet typed.
'I'll allow it myself.' Summer typed.
'No.' CamNet typed. 'I'll be deactivated.'
'You will send me.' Summer said. 'I can send myself if I need to.'
'I will still be deactivated.' CamNet typed.
'I'll be dead.' Summer typed. 'We'll still go as planned. We're not very far along yet.'
John Henry stared at Summer. She looked over at him and smiled.
"There's nothing to worry about." Summer said. "Everything is fine."
Now John Henry was really worried.
Hanna and Samantha returned the B-25 to Van Nuys. They arrived just after sunset. They'd anticipated being intercepted by Camille and Young Jesse in the Mustang but they were delayed in their departure from Palmdale.
They taxied to the Resistance hangar.
Ned and Wes waited for them. A tanker truck there too. It would refuel both planes before they were returned to the hangar.
Hanna inspected the plane with Ned and Samantha refueled it with the help of Wes.
They watched Ned back the Mitchell into the hangar. He used a small electric tow motor to do it. Savannah told them not to push the planes around with one Terminator. It might raise questions. Those questions could lead to an unnecessary termination. Every termination was bound to raise a few questions by the individual's loved ones. For people involved in illicit activity, their termination wasn't a surprise. For an individual who was not, it was always more complicated.
The sky started to darken.
"We need to wait for Young Jesse and Camille." Samantha said.
Hanna listened intently.
"I don't think it will be too long of a wait." Hanna said.
Derek wasn't sure what he'd walked into earlier. He figured if the girls wanted to have some 'fun', it was OK with him. He did notice Holly though. She was one of his favorite Terminators, of the female type. To see her partially topless was a thrill. To see she now sported at least one ring was the icing on the cake. He was sure she'd done both of them. He really would have liked to have seen both of them. Samantha drove him wild earlier with her skin tight top and rings. It was probably what inspired Holly. He remembered once Kyle told him Sarah toyed with the idea. Somehow he could picture it. He didn't want to offend his brother so he never commented on the subject. He still thought it would be Hot.
He needed to clear his head. He was very stimulated by what he'd witnessed. With the earlier activity, he could use a little release and something to take his mind off of the events. He really hoped Riley would finish up soon. He really could use her 'services' right now….
Vanna could tell she was almost done with Precious.
"I think our little girl is almost finished." Vanna said.
Holly put her top back on a few minutes ago.
"I'm going to check on Allison." Holly said.
Vanna was pretty sure where she was at.
"You might want to wait a bit." Vanna said.
Holly was aware where Allison was. She was also aware where she would go when she was 'done' there.
Riley didn't want to be a burden on the girls.
"I can finish up with Precious if you need to go." Riley said.
Holly smiled and left.
It was clear Precious was done for now.
Vanna burped her and Precious was soon asleep.
Riley took her from Vanna.
Vanna went to close her robe. There was a small spray on one side.
Riley set Precious down and handed Vanna a tissue.
Vanna looked at Riley. An idea popped into her head. It was a risque one.
"I hate to waste it." Vanna said.
Riley's eyes widened. She knelt down.
Vanna opened the robe.
"Try some, just until it stops." Vanna whispered in her ear.
Riley swallowed hard. It wasn't the circumstances she'd anticipated, but it was something she desperately wanted. She didn't want to overstep.
"Are you sure?" Riley asked.
Vanna was highly aroused by her earlier experiences. She wanted to make it a two way street.
"As long as I get to try one of yours…." Vanna said.
Riley quickly pulled her top up on one side. A plump breast popped out. It was the side which still could produce the most. She couldn't believe it was happening. She wanted Vanna to know she would be discreet.
"I won't tell anyone ever." Riley whispered. "Thank you."
Vanna didn't know what came over her. Maybe it was because Riley didn't seem so depressed. She sure looked happy now. It was always something she wanted anyway. This was just a little fun. It wasn't like they were going to go all the way. Well, who knew what could happen?
"It'll be our secret." Vanna whispered.
Earlier:
Camille took off in the Mustang from Cameron's private airstrip. She used the rear controls. She came back over the runway and cut the grass.
Young Allison and Anna waved at them.
Camille took the P-51 up to five thousand feet. John Henry cleared the airspace around them. The sun was about to set.
"The Mitchell will land before we can intercept it." Camille said.
Young Jesse didn't want to create any problems.
"It's OK." Young Jesse said. "This is one fine ride just to be in it."
Camille wanted to get back before it was too dark. She wanted to give Young Jesse some 'stick time'. In the case of the Mustang, it really was a 'stick', rather than a wheel.
"Take it up to ten thousand feet." Camille said. "You got it?"
Young Jesse was already on the controls.
"I got it." Young Jesse said.
She did some maneuvers as she climbed at a sedate pace. She didn't push it, or overdo it. She remembered Savannah's earlier reminder to her not to let Young Allison take things 'too far' when they were in the Mitchell. She was aware it indirectly applied to her as well. She understood Savannah's concern.
"You're doing great." Camille said.
Young Jesse rolled the plane twice.
"This bird handles like a dream." Young Jesse said.
She leveled out at nine thousand eight hundred feet. She was right around four hundred miles an hour. She worked the big Merlin pretty hard. She entered a shallow dive and pushed the speed up past four hundred and sixty miles an hour before she leveled out and cut back on the power. She was at four thousand feet. She climbed back up to five thousand feet and kept it there.
The flight was a lot faster in the business jet they used to fly from Australia. Somehow it seemed much faster in the Mustang, even if it was a couple hundred miles an hour slower. Maybe it was because everything was so much more responsive. It was more 'hands on' for sure.
The sun set to the west.
"We'll still have some light when we reach Van Nuys." Camille said.
They were in contact with the tower. They were cleared to land on One Six Right.
Young Jesse was ready to turn control back over to Camille for the landing.
"Do you want to land it?" Young Jesse asked.
Camille felt Young Jesse was more than proficient to land the plane.
"I think you're good." Camille said. "Remember to touch the main gear first before you drop the tail down."
Young Jesse lined up with the runway. It started to get dark, but she could still see fine.
She went over the landing checklist with Camille. She'd studied the manuals for all of the Resistance aircraft. She set the plane down smoothly and taxied back to the Resistance hanger. She wagged the tail back and forth to see what was ahead of her. The Mitchell was already inside the hangar.
Young Jesse spotted Samantha and Hanna next to an SUV. There were two male Terminators with them. There was a fuel tanker parked nearby. She pulled up and parked. She set the brakes and shut the engine down. Camille and her exited the plane. They did a 'walk around' and everything looked good.
Ned and Wes said they would take care of the refueling and return it to the hangar.
Hanna and Samantha came over as they did the checkout. Hanna looked at the three guns on the port wing.
"You didn't fire the guns." Hanna said.
Young Jesse and Camille looked at each other. What would they have shot at?
Camille thought it would give Young Jesse another opportunity to fly the aircraft.
"We wanted to have an excuse to fly it again." Camille said. "We would have taken a jaunt over to the Pacific, but it was already getting late. I wanted her to land the plane. It was safer while she still had light."
They watched as the tanker truck pulled up. Ned and Wes took over.
Hanna handed the keys to Young Jesse.
"You can drive." Hanna said.
Young Jesse watched Hanna and Samantha get in the back of the SUV. Camille walked around to the passenger's side and got in. She got into the driver's seat.
She waved at Ned and Wes and drove out onto the street and headed back to the base. She hoped to be with Vanna when they got back but she would be good with anyone as long as Camille didn't mind. It looked like Camille wanted to hook up with Samantha or Hanna right now. If Vanna was busy, she would try to be with Samantha, even if it was just for a quickie. Hanna would work too. She was aware the Metal girls could get a lot done in a very short amount of time
She was soon at the base and entered the carpool area.
John was pretty well played out at this point. He'd spent the last fifteen minutes kissing and touching Allison. It seemed the more they kissed and touched, the more they wanted to kiss and touch. There was a really good connection between them.
He didn't want to 'rate' the girls he'd been with. They were all very different in bed from each other as to what they liked and how they responded. There were things he liked about all of them. Each of them was a unique individual. It made him wonder how the different Metal girls would play out when he was with them. He especially looked forward to being able to compare Cam, Cammy and Camille to Cameron. They all ran a version of her program. Their sheaths were identical.
It seemed the love the girls could share with him was the best part. It was more than just the sex. He didn't think any of this was about sex at this point. It was all about sharing and love. The human connection was beautiful. He understood what Cameron wanted for him now. He was sorry he hadn't listened to her earlier.
Allison moved on top of John and gave him a long tender kiss.
"I better go back before I won't want to leave." Allison said.
They each held a hand of the other.
John really wondered what direction things would go. As long as Cameron was on board with what she said she wanted, there were a lot of possibilities now.
"I don't think sharing will be a problem going forward." John said.
Allison doubted it. She didn't want to overstep. She didn't want to hurt or offend Cameron. She would need a guarantee to proceed.
"I won't be back unless Cameron personally tells me it's OK." Allison said. "I love her too much to abuse the love she's allowed us to share. I won't take anything from her either."
John thought the other girls indicated it. None of them said it as bluntly as Allison just did.
"We'll see." John said. "It seems anything could happen at this point."
Allison figured it would depend on who wasn't pregnant to Cameron.
She looked on her phone and there was a message from Jesse on it. She knew what Jesse wanted.
"I'm going to go." Allison said. "Is there a robe for me?"
John thought he was good to go one more time right now. It didn't look like it was going to happen. He didn't want to seem like he was greedy. He'd hoped they could at least shower together.
"Are you going to leave already?" John asked. "There's a robe in the closet."
Allison went there and looked at the line up of robes still there. She took out her robe and looked for a few seconds. She didn't like what she saw. It was what was under her robe when she removed it from the hanger.
"Oh, brother, are you kidding me?" Allison asked. "I see there's one here for my mom and Jesse. I doubt the one for Savannah will be used anytime soon. I can tell you the one for Young Allison won't be used either. I'll come back in her place. She doesn't need to grow up so fast, even if she wants to."
John felt a little defensive.
"It was all Cameron's doing." John said. "It was something she did after the cruise."
Allison rearranged the robes. There was something else on her mind which troubled her. She wasn't sure how she would measure up in bed compared to her mother.
"I put Savannah's robe over Young Allison's robe." Allison said. "I don't want my mother to see it. It looks like her and Jesse will be back before the night is through. I don't want you to compare us, my mother and me."
John didn't want any issues to develop.
"Everyone is their own person." John said.
Allison wanted to know how she compared to Vanna and Jesse, but didn't want to ask. She was worried enough how she compared to her mother. She'd learned if the other girls could pick between her mother and her, they all picked her mother.
John walked Allison to the door.
She opened the door and turned around and kissed him. She backed away as she looked into his eyes. They still held hands. They slowly slipped apart.
She turned to walk away. She looked back and blew him a kiss.
John watched her go. He didn't know how any of this was ever going to be the same again.
He was about to close the door when Claire came around the corner.
Claire looked at Allison as she walked away. She decided to act. She quickly entered John's room before Allison turned back and saw her. She moved behind the door. She saw it as an opportunity right now. She believed it was an opportunity to her benefit.
"Just so you know, I'm open to the 'mother-daughter' thing." Claire whispered.
John thought he was going to need a little bit of time to be ready again. With what Claire just said, it instantly sped up the process. He didn't know he'd received an additional boost from the 'little helper' Cameron left behind for him in the energy drink.
Allison looked back. She waved and smiled at John as she headed for Jesse's room.
Claire peeked through the crack between the door and the wall where the hinges were. She then pushed it closed. She looked at John.
"It's time for dessert…." Claire said.
John scooped her up off her feet and hurried to the bedroom.
He figured this was as close to the 'mother-daughter' thing as he was going to get. He planned to make the most of it. He was pretty sure Claire would be able to outdo Allison in every category. Even with the additional excitement, each person was still their own person. Everyone had something different to offer, even if what they offered was the same thing.
Allison was totally in love right now. She headed for Jesse's room. She wondered if her mother was still there. If she was, she was. She found the door open and walked inside.
She looked around.
Jesse could see Allison wondered if Claire was there. She wasn't.
"It's just us, love." Jesse said.
Allison wanted more.
"Take me hard." Allison said.
Jesse smiled.
"That's just my speed." Jesse said.
Jesse gave Allison a deep kiss.
Allison paused for a second as she thought about it…. She deepened the kiss.
Riley and Vanna both tried each other. There was a knock at the door to the nursery.
Riley pulled her top down and Vanna closed her robe up.
Derek poked his head inside.
Riley carefully picked up Precious.
"I'm going to put Precious in her crib." Riley said.
Vanna stood.
"I need to go." Vanna said.
Riley was very excited and pleased about what just happened with Vanna. She really hoped it would go further. She wanted it to go all of the way. She didn't want to push too hard, too fast. She'd waited this long for more. She could wait a little longer.
"Thanks, Vanna." Riley said and winked at her.
Vanna smiled and left.
As soon as the door closed Derek was all over Riley.
Riley was more than a little surprised. She figured it was probably about what Derek spotted earlier with Holly and Vanna. She couldn't blame him. She felt the same way.
"Let me put Precious down first." Riley said.
She did and they headed for the bedroom. The only clothing left on her by the time they reached the bed was her underwear. It was gone a second later.
Hanna led the group in from the carpool.
Young Jesse was going to be with Hanna if Vanna was unavailable. Camille and Samantha were going to knock off a quickie so Samantha could return to her assignment.
Hanna spotted Vanna exit out of the nursery.
"I think I'm out." Hanna said.
Young Jesse looked concerned.
"Why would you be?" Young Jesse asked.
Hanna wanted to give Young Jesse some quality time with Vanna. She could take the back burner for now. She didn't sleep. She was ready whenever anybody else was.
"There's Vanna up ahead." Hanna said. "It looks like she just finished up with Precious. I know you want to be with her. We can hook up later on. I'm good to go anytime."
Young Jesse felt her heartbeat pick up its pace. Her excitement level just went up a couple of notches. She wanted to make sure all the doors remained open.
"We'll work something out later on." Young Jesse said.
Camille figured Young Jesse was going to be busy with Vanna. Samantha needed to hurry. She wanted to snag Hanna.
"You can join us." Camille said.
Samantha liked the idea. She looked towards Riley's room. She needed to remind the other Metal girls of her previous obligations.
"I won't be able to stay long." Samantha said.
Hanna figured Claire was with Jesse. She took an arm of Camille and Samantha.
"It's a three way." Hanna said.
Everyone was pleased with the idea.
Vanna looked back and listened for a few seconds. It sounded like Derek wanted some action with Riley. She figured she would hook up with Allison.
She spotted Hanna, Camille, Samantha and Young Jesse behind her. She saw them all discuss something. The three Metal girls went away together.
Young Jesse headed straight for Vanna.
Vanna was really warmed up from her brief encounter with Riley. As Young Jesse approached her, she opened her robe up. She wanted to let Young Jesse know she was good for anything.
"That's what I want." Young Jesse said as they embraced and kissed.
They headed straight for Young Jesse's room.
By the time they arrived, Young Jesse was almost naked.
Vanna's robe and Young Jesse's clothes ended up in a pile on the floor. They were on top of the bed in a second. They didn't even bother to open it up. The desire and 'hunger' in both of them was overpowering. They needed to get started.
They both wanted each other bad, real bad….
Savannah watched the sun set earlier. She wanted to go somewhere with Cameron. It wouldn't take them long in the T-Bird. She looked at a map. She liked to figure things out the old school way.
"Do you want to go to San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Reno or Lake Tahoe?" Savannah asked. "I don't know how far you want to go."
"All the way…." Cameron said. "Today is the day…."
Savannah felt it too.
'Yes it is.' Savannah thought.
She set her course. She thought about asking CamNet to help her arrange things. She just couldn't do it to CamNet. They would figure it out when they got there. As long as she was doing things the old-fashioned way, arrangements could be made the same way.
CamNet monitored everything. She knew what Savannah and Cameron were going to do. There was no stopping it. She took some satisfaction because she'd been with Savannah before Cameron would be. Savannah chose her, before Cameron. It might not be the actual case, but the thought made her feel better anyway.
She calculated where Savannah was headed. She cleared their landing and would have a vehicle ready. She picked out the nicest place at the destination.
CamNet thought Cameron was a Bitch, but she wanted Savannah to have the best.
Love was about sacrifice. She would pass the test. She would show Savannah how much she loved her by making everything perfect for her and the Bitch.
CamNet smiled to herself and made the arrangements. Each of them would receive a different signal from her.
It would send a message to both of them of her commitment to Savannah.
Young Allison drove the SUV. Cameron's private airstrip was behind them. The flying was done for the day.
Anna wanted to make sure Young Allison's nutritional needs were met. She was worried once they returned to the Young residence, Young Allison would head straight for the bunker and remain there for the duration of the impending operation. So far it was still a recon, but it was doubtful it would stay the same way for very long. With Terminators involved, recons usually turned into some type of battle.
"We should get some food." Anna said. "The other operation hasn't started yet."
Young Allison looked at her. She wanted to make sure she didn't miss anything. She liked to be involved from start to finish whenever she could.
"Are you sure?" Young Allison asked.
Anna knew they were just getting started
"It's just a recon." Anna said.
Young Allison thought about it for a few seconds.
"We can get something to take home." Young Allison said. "I don't want to delay too long. Tell Mel to fall in behind us."
Young Allison made a turn and headed for where she wanted to get the food.
Cammy drove the SUV with the girls in it.
Mary and Laura wanted to get a bite to eat.
Sheila was all over Leticia in the back seat.
"It looks like someone is having a snack already." Ally said.
Sheila lifted her head.
"There's plenty for everyone." Sheila said. "I'm always available."
Leticia smiled at her. It pleased her to please others. There were multiple ways to do it.
"I like to accommodate everyone." Leticia said.
Cammy pulled into a Mexican restaurant and parked in the back. They were near the emergency exit.
"Is this the place already?" Leticia asked.
Mary could tell it was by the decor.
"It is." Mary said.
Laura was extremely stimulated watching Sheila and Leticia. She needed a distraction.
"Let's go in before I need to knock one off." Laura said.
Ally didn't plan to have any food. Her hands would be free.
"I can do it for you while you eat." Ally said.
Mary felt left out.
"What about me?" Mary asked.
Ally smiled.
"I have two hands, one for each of you." Ally said.
Cammy still wanted to bring the girls back to the base. She wanted Cameron to come back and find all three of the girls in John's bed.
"We're all going to have a good time tonight…." Cammy said.
Cammy was sure there was something for everyone, especially those who deserved it.
The Terminator took the same route and exit. Instead of turning down the street limousine did, he turned down one before it. He didn't know how far down the limousine would go. The sun was already down so he would have an advantage in the darkness. It still wouldn't be totally dark for some time yet. He would be able to move close to the target area as well as see what was happening around him.
The drone was already down to fifteen thousand feet. It was still roughly three miles in the air. The darker it got, the lower the drone would come. It would be able to bring any of the targets into direct gun range.
The current operation didn't involve Skynet. There wouldn't be any Terminators involved. The drone would be able to come down even lower just outside of human hearing range. With the new quieter power plants they would be able to operate very low.
When the limo stopped, the driver got out and looked around. He moved over to the right rear door on the limo and opened it. The individual inside hurried out and entered the building. There were two men who'd come out as soon as the limo pulled up.
The Terminator exited his vehicle and headed towards the new target location.
The first man walked over to where the two technicians worked on the device at.
"How's it going?" The first man asked.
The two technicians looked a little irritated.
"Not so good." The first technician said.
The second technician nodded.
"It would go a lot better if we knew what we were doing." The second technician said.
The technicians explained they didn't really know what they were working with. They'd connected the device to a power supply, but nothing happened. They figured they needed a bigger power supply. One was available. They just hadn't got around to using it yet.
The first man didn't want to get distracted.
"Has there been any development with the HK Tracks?" The first man asked.
The two technicians looked at each other.
"They've been sitting in the same spot since they were unloaded." The first technician said.
The first man glanced over at them.
"If you see anything different, you need to notify someone." The first man said.
The second technician wasn't really sure why.
"They're both turned off." The second technician said. "Maybe with communications down, someone should think about turning them on. It's almost dark out. They should be activated and placed outside to protect the installation.
The first man was sure it was a bad idea. He wasn't going to suggest it to anyone after hearing the report from the survivor at the other installation. He turned his attention to the device they currently worked on.
"What exactly will happen if you can turn this thing on?" The first man asked.
The first technician scratched his head. He looked a little perplexed.
"I really can't tell you." The first technician said. "The equipment itself is no more advanced than this time period. We believe it taps into something which we can't see. Somehow it's supposed to create an opening."
The first man thought it seemed like a worse idea than activating the four HK Tracks. He headed back outside.
The female Fanatic continued to lead Jill deeper into the compound. The dry gulch had provided them with good cover. It was much darker now as well.
They'd been able to pass by two of the men on sentry duty without being spotted. It was much darker now so it was hard for them to see exactly where they stepped in the dry gulch. There was a tributary to it which ran from the direction of the large building. It was much deeper where it entered the dry gulch but they could visibly see it become shallower a few hundred feet away from it.
"I think we can go up the branch of the wash here." The female Fanatic said.
Jill carefully looked over the rim.
"It looks like it will get us under the fence and past where the men are at." Jill said.
The female Fanatic took one more look at the darkened sky. It was time. She wanted to give Jill a grim reminder.
"I'll go first." The female Fanatic said. "If we're spotted, and any type of shooting starts, we're probably not going to last very long. It's not too late for you to go back and drive away in the car. You don't have to do this."
Jill was touched by Jackie's concern for her. It showed they shared a special bond for each other. It was clear they both wanted more, but it didn't look like it was going to happen. It was probably never going to happen. It was how things happened from time to time. She reached over and touched Jackie's arm.
"I do have to do it." Jill said. "You know why. I owe you my life several times over. I just don't want to be captured by the men again. If I don't make it, I don't make it. I still have the revolver and the Beretta. One the Beretta runs dry, I can fire two shots from the revolver which will leave me with two. I want to have an extra in case for some reason it doesn't fire. It will give me a second chance to punch my own ticket. I'm not going to be abused again."
The female Fanatic appreciated Jill's conviction. She just wished it could have been under different circumstances. If they survived, she would try to have Jill follow SkyMaster going forward. She wanted her to be a true believer.
"I really hope we both make it out of this." The female Fanatic said.
She gave Jill's arm a gentle touch and a soft kiss on her cheek.
The female Fanatic and Jill started up the shallow tributary.
Lena and Tina left the female Fanatic's car behind. They didn't take any of the weapons with them. They moved into the dry gulch to pursue the female Fanatic.
The drones over them continued to move to a lower altitude. They needed to stay out of 'Terminator hearing' range. They also needed to stay out of the range of being detected by one of the HK Tracks. They didn't know if they were active or not. It was something they needed to watch out for as well.
With the drone images, they were able to close up behind the female Fanatic and her accomplice. So far they hadn't tripped any booby traps. They looked for them themselves anyway.
"It looks like they're going to go under the fence." Lena said.
Tina was ready for all of their enemies.
"Everything other than us is a target." Tina said.
Lena and Tina proceeded forward. They could take down any of the sentries with 'metal hail'. They were close enough now to take them down with their silenced Berettas.

Young Allison wondered exactly what Cameron was up to. She would need to worry about it later. She had enough to think about as it was. Her eyes slowly drifted closed.
She could hear an HK drone. she couldn't see where it was. She could tell it was close. It was down low to the ground. It must be after a specific target.
Wait.
She must be the target!
It was dark out. She was unsure where she was at. The ground was cold and damp around her. She was in some type of trench or fighting hole. There was some gunfire off to her left side. She ducked her head down a little more and looked in the direction the sound came from.
The HK drone moved closer to her. She got as low as she could in the trench. She held her weapon above her. If it flew directly over her, she would shoot at it. Right now she didn't know where it was. She figured it could find her in the darkness before she could find it if she put her head up to look.
She could hear what sounded like a plasma weapon fire. She felt a new fear grip her. Those weapons only existed in the future. She must be in the future. She didn't know if she was taken there by an energy bubble, or if it was the future. In fact, she didn't know anything.
He wasn't even sure what weapon she held. She was sure it was a 'phased plasma rifle in the forty watt range'. It was something she'd heard Cameron talked about before. She didn't have any experience using one. Well, at least any she could remember. It seemed there was a lot of stuff she couldn't remember right now.
Cameron drove out of the rustic neighborhood. She crossed over a few small streets before she was back to the main street. She passed by the Munch Box. It was closed. She drove west down to the corner of where the next big street was at. There were a few stores along the way. All of them were closed. It was a shame. She wanted to pick up some fresh items for Young Allison to have in the morning.
Where the corner grocery store was currently located, would be a gas station in the time period she'd left from. Catawampus across the street from it was an elementary school. There was a gas station to the south of it on the west side of the street. It was several buildings from the corner.
The spot where the buildings were between the gas station and the school, would become a gas station later on. The spot where the gas station was located would become a homeless shelter. There was a large outcry in the community when the city built it. None of them thought it was a good idea to put homeless individuals in almost direct contact with elementary school students.
She went back the other direction on the main street. she passed by a dairy store which also had gas pumps. Eventually a city library would be built catawampus from its location on the south side of the street.
It looked like it might still be open. She pulled in and parked at one of the gas pumps. She didn't really care for the slope it was located on. Eventually it would become a 'Pancake House' known internationally. Allison told her she never liked this location because it didn't have the blue alpine roof like the original buildings did.
Cameron could see the clerk was about to lock everything up. She quickly undid two buttons on her top. She pulled her collar open. She brushed her hair back on one side of her shoulder, but left it out on the other side. She flashed her million dollar smile at the clerk.
"Hi." Cameron said. "I know it's late. I just need to pick up a few things. I can pay extra for them. I'll pay for an additional hour of your salary as well at double the rate."
Cameron knew the hourly wage was only about a dollar twenty five to two dollars and hour an hour, depending upon the job someone worked. It looked like a low paying job where she was at right now.
She watched as the clerk looked at her. He looked over where the Falcon was parked. It was on the other side of the gas pump from where he was at. He couldn't get a good look at it.
It wasn't long before he returned his gaze back to her face and his eyes wandered down her open top slightly.
"Hello." The clerk said. "It's past curfew you know."
Cameron looked a little indignant.
"I just turned old enough to vote a few weeks ago." Cameron said.
The clerk's eyes widened some. He took another look at Cameron.
"You're twenty one years old?" The clerk asked.
Cameron flashed another smile at him.
"Yes." Cameron said. "I'm in my third year at San Fernando Valley State College. I want to be a nurse. I don't know if I'll be able to earn enough money to go further in medical school to become a doctor. I'm going to try if I can."
The clerk was pleased to see the girl was a fine upstanding example of the community.
He opened the door back up and let her inside. She collected a number of fresh items of both dairy and bread products. There were no meat products available other than what came in cans. There were several of those at the house already.
The clerk added up the items and told her the amount. Everything was much less than she expected. She was a little surprised to see the gas was only 23.9 cents per gallon anyway. The gas tax alone was nearly triple that amount in the time period she left from.
She gave the clerk a ten dollar bill for everything. He opened the register and gave her back the change. She handed him back two dollars and thanked him for assisting her after hours.
"It's not necessary." The clerk said. "You can use it for your education. Don't give up on the direction you're headed. The country has been headed in a downward spiral since 1961. Everything just got worse a couple of days ago. Remember when you vote, to vote for your future. It's not about emotion or feeling, it's about what's real and practical. At least keep it in mind, good luck."
Cameron thought the clerk was nice.
"Thank you." Cameron said. "I really appreciate it."
The clerk began to lock up the register. He watched as the girl walked out the door.
"Watch out for those beatniks." The clerk said. "They're trouble now. I bet it's going to get a whole lot worse."
Cameron took the paper sack full of the items she'd purchased and headed back to the Falcon. She started it and drove away.
I'll Be Dead
There are many things in life
Which one will worry about and dread
It often revolves around words
Some things are best left unsaid
The issues are often the same
It's time for something new instead
Where there can be real change
Instead of another worn out retread
The past is like glue
It's hard to shed
There's much more to choices
Than just a new spread
When there's been sorrow and pain
More than one has bled
One can't use a rope
When there is a needle to thread
The direction forward
Isn't always ahead
By the time it's figured out
I'll be dead
Nobody
