A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

The moment Diane and Snake left Luggins' house, Webs and Wolf went to work searching for the supposed tracker. After thoroughly searching his pants, the canine struggled to get them back on. "I don't think she put a tracker on me."

"What makes you say that?" Webs asked.

"I mean, if she knows that Luggins is at the Lair, it wouldn't be hard to figure out where the Lair is."

Webs stopped for a moment, rubbing a fuzzy foot across her chin. "You're right. With Lambs' skills, she could easily use the phone towers."

"So why say there's a tracker on me?" Wolf asked. Webs shrugged. Just then, a meow perked their ears. Doris was scratching at a piece of paper she found in Wolf's shoe. "Huh, I was wondering what was making my foot itch."

"What does it say?"

"'Check the garage.'" Wolf narrowed his eyes. "How would she know where the evidence is?"

"What?"

"When I talked with Lambs, she said Luggins had the evidence in her house. But how could she have known where in the house it was?" He said as he put his shoes back shrugged. "Hmm, just how close were these two? Ugh, whatever. Let's just go." The two of them walked into the neat and tidy garage. One car remained with a bicycle, a few tools on the walls, a window on the side, and a bench place for repairs. "Yep, this is definitely what a 'DIY' person would have as a garage. But where is the evidence?"

"Maybe in the car?" Webs guessed. The car was bright blue shaped much like a Volkswagen beetle. Wolf noticed the car's tires were an unusual shape. He kicked them. "Solid tires. And judging by the rust around the rim, this car hasn't moved in a while."

"So?"

Wolf reached for the trunk and popped the hood open.

Suddenly, a mechanism pushed the car forward and up, carefully not hitting the top of the high ceiling. Underneath it, a small hole popped open with a ladder descending into darkness. "Well, that's a secret entrance," Wolf smirked. "Come on." Climbing down the hole, Wolf searched around for a light switch. "Where the heck is... ah! Got it!"

Stage lights turned on to a small bunker-style panic room several feet wide and a house hallway long. Guns, gadgets, and computers lined the narrow hallway on one side with cabinets and a locked glass weapons rack on the other. At the end of it was a massive wall of computers and multiple screens. "Wow! I didn't think Luggins was a tech geek!" Webs exclaimed.

"Now we know she has the know-how to wipe the computers at the police station," Wolf murmured. He looked left and saw a sheet of big grid paper loosely covering something underneath. "What's this?" He ripped it off and gasped. "Whoa!"

A picture with Luggins and Lambs standing back to back pointing guns at the photographer. Luggins' hair was much shorter back then. More tomboyish. Wolf scanned the poster and spotted two silver watches on both Lambs and Luggins. Much like the watch she used for the bomb tracker. Strange, he didn't think gangs wore watches. Maybe they should get them too.

If Luggins was actually a part of this gang, why didn't she recognize the watch? And why did Lambs seem so glad to get rid of the watch? Wolf mumbled to himself while he thought about it. "Can you get any evidence off of her computer, Webs?" He finally said.

"I'll see what I can do," Tarantula replied. Her speedy legs clacked the keys. Wolf's eyes found a desk cabinet right next to the computer. "Ugh, I cracked the code, but she has some heavily encrypted files. I'll try and break them."

"Don't bother," Wolf muttered, opening the cabinet. "I think I found what we're looking for." The canine held a Manila folder label with GR888. A full one. Wolf opened the folder, slowly walking away from Webs.

"What does it say?"

Wolf didn't respond. Each page turn made another page turn faster and faster in his hands. More and more frustration, growling, and snarling exited Wolf's mouth until he suddenly clapped the folder closed. "I can't believe it. That little hypocrite!" Wolf stormed up the hole and out of the bunker. "All that time putting us down when she... RAAAHHH!"

"Wolf!" Webs cried, quickly rushing after him, "You're scaring me. What's wrong?"

Wolf didn't answer. He marched out of the house. Then he got a call. He didn't recognize the number but he answered it. A subtle silky voice responded. "Hello, Wolf."

"Where is she?"

"I was gonna ask you." Wolf could hear her smirk.

He growled, "Shut up, Lambs. You know exactly where she is. You weren't after her. You just needed someone to do your dirty work."

"You know that's not true. You wanted to get some dirt about Luggins just as much as I wanted to get back at her. But I had to shake her up to make sure she made enough mistakes." Lambs said, "So... now that the wolf's sheep's clothing is removed, what are you going to do?"

"Where is she?"

"Heading towards the west bridge. Meet you there."

Click!

"West Bridge."

"Wolf, where are you going?" Webs asked.

"I'm going after Luggins." Just then, a cop car pulled up. Officer Bill stepped out only for Wolf to clamber into his car. "I need this for a moment. I'll be back. And if I'm not, arrest me later for what I'm about to do."

Without another word, Wolf sped down the road leaving Bill and Webs confused and speechless.

"You... might want to call Governor Foxington," Webs mentioned.

"Right," Bill sighed.

Wolf sped through the lanes, ducking and dodging cars in his way. His glare was always set on the target until he got a call. "What?"

"What are you doing?"

"I'm putting an end to this, Snake."

"Wolf, Buddy, what happened? What's going on?"

"I'm making sure that Luggins doesn't get away with what she did," Wolf growled back, revving up the car. "And I'm making sure that I give her a piece of my mind."

"Wolf, we have to do this by the book."

"No, I'm done with this. I'm going to make sure that everyone knows what she did. This wolf in sheep's clothing needs to be dealt with, permanently."

Snake heard the call drop. He shot a worried glance at Diane. The fox floored the accelerator and sped down the highway.

Whatever was going to happen, they had to make sure they were with Wolf before he did something he'd regret.
