Here's the new chapter. Team Guy vs Team Asuma

At the start of the match, Lee went straight for him. He didn't really mind, if anything it was good for them. From what he'd seen in the susceptible to genjutsu, so he could deal with Lee through that.

As he engaged in taijutsu against Lee, having now raised his speed to the necessary level, he tried to force eye contact to take him down. But somehow, Lee was avoiding it. In fact, he seemed to be completely avoiding looking at his face. He frowned at that. Lee certainly hadn't shown that ability last time. Had he trained for this in the one month period ? He'd have to change his plans then.

He'd managed to copy some useful jutsu while watching the previous fights. He certainly couldn't use jutsu he copied perfectly like Kakashi could, but here he didn't need to.

He quickly launched a fireball at Lee, forcing him to dodge. He quickly attacked Lee, who managed to not only avoid it, but he also quickly performed the First Lotus to smack him into the ground and...

Poof.

He popped out of the ground after Lee had used his move on the shadow clone that had been left behind, resulting in his body being temporarily weak. This was the best time for him to beat Lee. Just as he managed to land some hits to disorient Lee further and launch a fireball to take him down, he heard Lee say out loud, "Second gate, open."

Holy shit, Lee could open more gates! But it was fine. He was faster than before, and the Sharingan would still help him keep up even if he was technically slower. But to his surprise, Lee just kept opening more gates.

He managed to keep up till the 3rd gate was opened through a combination of Ninjutsu and use of his Sharingan, but once the 4th Gate was open, it took all his strength to keep himself alive. The 5th Gate was just overkill in his opinion.

Fuck. Lee was currently knocking him around in the air. He surrounded himself in some fire based chakra and focused as much of his remaining chakra into the limbs he was blocking hits with as he could, but he was barely slowing Lee down. The proctor looked about ready to call the match.

No, this was not how he would go down. He couldn't lose like this, not when he had to reach a shinobi far beyond this level.

He'd have to go back to his original plan of using genjutsu on Lee. He had to force eye contact with Lee. He used the Ash Pile burning jutsu, the jutsu that was the one move that he'd been taught during the last month aside from Sharingan practice. In this case, it was more of a smokescreen for now.

Lee quickly moved around it, but just as the kick flew towards him, he managed to use the henge.

The henge was a useful technique, but it had it's weaknesses. It couldn't be used while moving. Of course, the user could be thrown by someone else to avoid that weakness. The second weakness was that it couldn't be used instantaneously in combat. It took time to use, which was why he'd needed to use a smokescreen to buy time.

While Lee was confused by the sudden appearance of a centipede (Why that ? He had no idea), he quickly grabbed him and moved to make eye contact. Once Led was in a Genjutsu, he threw him into the ash he'd released, and quickly set it on fire. Lee had somehow managed to partly escape it through what seemed to be muscle memory, but he shut down any remaining chances by slamming Lee into the ground from the height they were at.

He'd busted up most of the bones in his body and had used up almost all his chakra, but he'd won. He turned his attention to the fights his teammates were in. It seems like Shino had beaten Tenten, which frankly was just a terrible matchup. Weapons couldn't really do anything against tiny insects. As for Hinata...

Damn it. She'd been beaten by Neji. Fucker seemed to have beaten her up pretty badly.

It seemed like Hinata had carried out the first plan she'd come up with to try and deal with Neji given all the shuriken scattered around, but it failed. A shame. She'd spent most of the past month learning the trick to curving shuriken and precision guiding them to difficult target spots. She wouldn't tell him why that was needed, and just murmured something about clan secrets.

The second plan was still in place, though that was far harder to carry out.

He quickly moved to support Shino, who was struggling against Neji.

Neji smirked upon seeing him, and remarked, "Aren't you in quite the sorry state Uchiha. Looks like my teammate managed to hurt you quite a bit. Well you don't need to worry. I'll be ending this match soon enough. You can join my weak cousin on the ground. That's the fated result anyway for weaklings like her."

He ignored the comment while hobbling towards Shino and asked, "What's the plan ?"

Shino replied "He's capable of using the Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven technique, which is why Hinata's plan failed. You've been hurt badly, and I haven't been able to outmaneuver Neji. I've also had a couple of hits land on me. I think we should use the other plan Hinata came up with. The setup has been done."

Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven jutsu ? It seemed like Neji's reputation as a prodigy was well-deserved.

Shino tried launching a wave of insects towards Neji, who managed to dodge them. He managed to help defend Shino from Neji's Gentle fist assault. They were slowly moving Neji around, trying to get him to the desired spot. He use the phoenix flower jutsu to pepper him with small attacks and force him to use the revolving heaven jutsu, while Shino attacked in between.

Eventually they got Neji to the required spot. He let out a desperate flying kick to keep him there, but Neji quickly smacked him away with the revolving heaven jutsu. But before Neji could continue his assault...

Boom!

The explosive tags that Hinata had planted in that spot exploded, activated by Shino. That was plan 2. A sudden blow from below that could be activated by any of them. Of course, if Neji had looked down at that spot with his Byakugan, he would have been able to see it coming, which was why other distractions from above were necessary.

Neji rolled to avoid the explosion, and he quickly attacked to take him out. Neji still managed to block the attack with a partial use of the revolving heaven jutsu. But he was slowed down enough to get caught by Shino and was then quickly drained of his chakra.

They'd won. While Neji was down, he knelt down, looked Neji in his eyes and said "By the way, the plan that beat you was Hinata's. Not quite what you expected of her fate was it ? So get of that high horse of yours and acknowledge that there are factors within your control no matter your circumstances, like Hinata has managed to do."

A was the first to speak, and said " The 8 gates jutsu is a ridiculous move for a genin to possess Hiruzen. What kind of training does that boy do ?"

He smiled at that and replied, "Yes Lee is an excellent example of the level pure hard work can take you."

Yagura agreed with him, saying "It's a shame that he went up against the Uchiha, one of the few in this tournament who can actually beat him with that Sharingan of his."

Onoki interrupted, saying "While we're speaking of the Uchiha, I must admit the boy seems skilled. Perhaps his talent isn't behind his traitor brother after all."

A/N

Hope you enjoyed that. In the stats below for the 5 Kage and Guy, they all have stas beyond 5 in some fields, as it's supposed to show that they're totally superhuman in that respect. Kakashi so far doesn't have that as he's borderline right now. Once he gets Kamui he'll be S rank in ninjutsu. He is still S rank as a ninja as he's basically the most well-rounded ninja alive after Hiruzen, with A rank level skill in multiple fields. Rasa and Yagura have A+ in ninjutsu, which basically means that they're not quite S rank in that field, but still beyond A rank.
