Here's the new chapter. I show the new jutsu here.

Today was the day Sakura was supposed to show the jutsu she'd come up with. It had been a month since they'd started working on her jutsu. She apparently wanted to surprise him with it, and so hadn't told him exactly what she had in mind. Though of course she still had to come to him to get the training exercises and tips. So he already knew that it was an earth style jutsu with a decent level of precision in shape manipulation. Frankly, it surprised him that she was sticking with that. He figured she would try to create some high level ninjutsu, which was why he'd been clear about the risks of testing complex jutsu. She was the detail-oriented type, and the details didn't really matter when it came to simple elemental jutsu. But today he'd see what idea had drawn her attention.

She was at the training ground before him, clearly tired from practice, but still seemed as excited as she was before.

After assessing her physical state, he asked "So, how do you want to test it ?"

She immediately replied "A sparring match."

After they got into position, she immediately went through a set of hand seals in a combination he hadn't seen before, before slamming her hand on the ground. He hadn't been sure what to expect, but he certainly hadn't expected a pair of hands made of solid rock to rise up and float around Sakura. He took a moment to admire her handiwork. One trait common to earth type jutsu was for them to be clunky looking. It had taken him a while to be able to make the clean shapes he could make now. It was a testament to Sakura's chakra control that she could make perfect copies of real hands out of solid earth after only recently learning earth style. The move itself was a little simple, but he could see the utility.

She then quickly closed in, having drawn out her tanto, swinging it with a beautiful white light. After he blocked with a kunai, he was forced to dodge the fist of stone that was flying at his head. Soon after he backed off, he found the hands grabbing his legs to slow him down as Sakura moved to hit him from the front. Not bad, she could move the hand around flexibly. One would think she was manipulating water, not stone. However...

He jumped off the ground and swung a powerful kick at her, his legs straining against her hold on his legs. Sakura's eyes widened as she sucked to dodge the blow. He followed up immediately by pinning her to the ground, the hands having let go of his legs by this point. "Not bad, Sakura", he admitted. "But their power still needs some work." She just grinned and said "I'm not done yet, sensei." He widened his eyes as he rolled on instinct, having sensed the objects that had flown towards him. He looked back to see what those were and saw rock pellets. How ? She hadn't made any hand seals, and she shouldn't have had the skill to do that without hand seals that quickly. The gears turned in his head, and he turned his attention to the stone hands she'd created, which were currently in the final hand seal of the rock pellets jutsu.

Sakura slowly got off the ground, a sly grin on her face. "Looks like you've realized sensei."

She started explaining in detail, "At the beginning, I'd sent a lot of chakra into the earth in preparation for multiple jutsu. All I had to do then was to create the necessary hand seals to mould the chakra properly. By linking the hands to my own body, the hand seals they make are almost as effective as the ones I make with my real hands. I can use this jutsu in a variety of ways, and this last trick allows me to use my sword while still using jutsu."

He understood the theory well enough. The main trick that made the jutsu itself unique was in the way it floated passively. He was an expert in ninjutsu after all. But it still required immense control. Precisely manipulating the hands was hard enough, but making hand seals with them was an incredible feat. This would probably be classified as a B rank jutsu, though he doubted others could use it the way she did. It wasn't perfect ed yet, but it was honestly more well thought out than he'd expected. Maybe she'd surpass him sooner than he clapped, applauding her effort. "Excellent job Sakura. It suits your fighting style and it's just at the right level for your chakra reserves. Now, it's time to fix the little flaws and get the rest of your abilities in shape."

She'd been glad to get Kakashi's approval, but she was dead tired. It had been a lot of work to get her earth style on par with the level of skill she needed. And now he was pushing her further, making her use only the hands in all their training section at poking at the flaws in the jutsu. The main issue was the level of focus it took. She had to precisely manuever the hands and focus on the shape. She had to constantly keep track of the current location of the two. And she needed to keep the connection with her chakra when she made hand seals through them. It drained her mentally. Another issue according to Kakashi was that she could only create and manipulate 2 of them. She didn't think that was really a big issue, but he said that the others would be throw away meant for distraction. "A hundred stone hands would make a powerful impression in a fight. That alone can aid success in combat."

A 100 ? Who was Kakashi kidding ? She'd generally been displeased with how much of a slacker he was, but now she sometimes wished he would let her be more lazy. How the tables have turned.

When they met up at the training ground, her sensei didn't get her started with combat or with training exercises, and just tossed her a scroll. The surprise on her face must have been apparent, because he chuckled as he said "You're going to be making a Jutsu Scroll."

Ah. Jutsu Scrolls were a concept introduced in Konoha by the 3rd Hokage. It was meant for use by various clans. They needed a way to secure their jutsu. If someone invented a jutsu, they needed to write down the workings to share it with others even after death, but doing that created a risk of the jutsu being stolen. And so, the Jutsu scroll was made, which securely stored it with a specific key meant to open it. That key varied from clan to clan. However, individuals who didn't have a specific clan to their name like her could also use it. It would be passed on to her nearest family member after her death, and could be opened with the key she would create, that she could pass on to anybody. Though she didn't understand why Kakashi wanted her to do that. She wasn't even sure if she'd be having kids, and her only living family members were civilians.

After taking several hours to write down all the details while enjoying, the cool breeze. After she was done, Kakashi checked her work. He added his sign as a supervisor, nodded and said, "We have one more stop and then you can take a break." Before she could reply, he put a hand on her shoulder and they left in a body flicker.

They arrived at the Konoha archive. Kakashi sauntered in, while she followed. Once she saw their location, she knew what her sensei had in mind. The Konoha archive was meant to contain a list of all the jutsu in Konoha. If anyone wanted a jutsu that did something, and wasn't sure if it even existed, they could check for the jutsu as well as the available users of said jutsu. However, it didn't contain the actual workings of the jutsu. That could only be taught by the actual users of said jutsu. In order for a jutsu to be accepted into the archive, the jutsu had to have a Jutsu Scroll that had been verified by a supervising jonin, and the creator had to demonstrate it in front of a member of the Archive.

She'd demonstrated her signature move that she'd chosen to name "Earth Style: Revolving Stone Hands". The revolving part was since they revolved around her in their natural state. Kakashi had grumbled about it being a lame name, but he let it slide.

The old man called Tenjin who'd been her supervisor didn't really say anything. He simply muttered to himself while watching carefully, scribbling on the sheet of paper in his hands. After asking a few basic questions, he accepted her submission, and gave her a copy of the listing on the Konoha archive.

"Revolving Stone Hands

Classification: Ninjutsu, Elemental

Nature: Earth

Rank: B-rank

Class: Offensive, Defensive

Range: Short to Mid

Users: Haruno Sakura

Description: The user creates a number of hands made with earth style that passively revolve around the user. They can be maneuvered around at the user's will and can move exactly like real hands."

She was still surprised. She'd never really thought about listing herself in the archive. The idea of someone browsing and finding her jutsu and actually getting interested in learning it had never crossed her mind.

A/N

Hope you enjoyed that. I think this is the right level of strength for an original jutsu made by her. She isn't exactly a raw power type. But this is still strong enough to get her a high level. She's still only about 14-15, and so there is still room for growth. A nice tidbit about the Archive system, is that sometimes villages deliberately leak info about jutsu that seem terrifying to spread fear.
