Here's the new chapter.

Sunagakure

The First

Reto was a survivor. The desert was harsh, with blistering days and freezing nights. Resources were scarce. Unlike in other countries, where fights occured for personal glory or dominance of one's clan, here fights occured over what limited resources were available. And it was in this harsh region that he was forged into the shinobi he would become. He lost his father at a young age, and his mother fell ill soon after. Because of her desire to not be a burden on her son, she sold herself into slavery, leaving what little money was gained into his hands. While his parents had died early, he had still been taught a few chakra manipulation tricks and the crucial skill of managing limited resources.

With what limited resources he possessed, he went out for his only hope, a distant temple of priests who were said to have tamed the spirit of the sand itself. They were willing to take on refugees on occasion, and so he set out on a desperate journey. He possessed an intuitive grasp of chakra control, to the point where he singlehandedly invented and mastered the art of sand walking. Where others struggled to walk, he ran as though he was on plain land. Through cunning and sheer force of will, he got himself at the temple of priests. There he was shown firsthand the power of the spirit of sand, Shukaku. And taking inspiration from it, he developed his signature jutsu over the years. He was eventually feared as the 'Living Sandstorm', the terror of the sand, stealing countless resources and establishing complete control over the sands. Soon enough, he had acquired followers, and taking inspiration from a land to the east, he founded the Village Hidden in the Sand, Sunagakure.

After he'd gathered countless talented and resilient Shinobi under his name, he gave himself the title of Kazekage and charged all around in search of resources. His ravenous nature played a part in the First Shinobi War, but he posessed the political acumen to manuever himself out of trouble, and when Hashirama Senju made an offer to distribute the Bijuu in exchange for money and the signing of a peace treaty, he took advantage of the fact that Shukaku was in his hands, he negotiated his way into a deal for the fertile lands of Konoha and monetary payment from other villages. For they were survivors, and with this deal, his village would not starve. He was succeeded by Shamon. While they were very different people, they were united in their desire to see Sunagakure prosper. Retort would step down peacefully, being the only exception to what others would later refer to as the Curse of the Kazekage.

The Second

Shamon id a man of order. He grew up while Suna was being built, and by the time he was of age, Suna had settled itself. Unlike the rest of the people of his time, he was no harsh warrior. He was no master of Sand walking or Wind manipulation, the two main arts of Suna. He ignored the comments of his people and focused his attention on one of the few things that did interest him; puppets. While it was Monzaemon Chikamatsu, who devised the art of puppetry, it was him who truly showed just how well it could be used in combat. Taking inspiration from the creator, he devised his signature puppet that he made and named after himself, Shamon. It was cunningly designed, with each and every piece being made to kill. He was also the first to realize that the chakra threads could be used on humans by connecting to the chakra nodes.

And so he made a name for himself, lifting the Art of puppetry from a quirky battle style used on occasion to a signature of Sunagakure. His abilities caught the eye of Reto, who made him a personal bodyguard and advisor. And this was when Shamon proved his true genius. While Reto brought together the shinobi of the desert through overwhelming force, charisma and cunning, Shamon was the one who made Suna a true village. He brought organization to the structure. By the end of the first War, he was named Kazekage. His was a long reign. But like his mentor, his ambition was his undoing. Upon learning of the death of the Hokage, he quickly rose to seize the opportunity to get the fertile lands and resources he craved. His daimyo supported his plan in earnest. But he found himself crushed by the future Third Hokage in single combat, and returned to his village, disgraced. He was assassinated soon after. The identity of the assassin is unknown, but some say in hushed voices that they were working for the young upstart who succeeded him, and some even say that the Third Kazekage did it himself.

The Third

Dorai is fierce, decisive and strong, and he believes that is all he needs to be. He quickly takes over Sunagakure after the death of his predecessor, and he guides Suna through the end of the Second War. His Iron Sand formed using the One Tails as inspiration is feared throughout the world. He is hailed as the strongest Kazekage to date. But the fear induced by him is not limited to other countries. Even in the streets of his own village, people speak of him in hushed tones. He implements harsher and harsher training requirements. He does succeed in his goal, as renowned Shinobi are churned out of the village. Rasa of the gold dust, and Sasori of the red sands are two fine examples of that. Sunagakure is never feared more than it was during his reign. But the latter leaves the village, and a mere month later, he goes missing.

He, the greatest Shinobi of his village was killed by Sasori through cunning, poison and sheer skill. In the end, the Kazekage who wanted nothing more than to bring glory to his village is reduced to a mere puppet. Sunagakure is panicking. They're in the midst of a war, and their Kage, who had been the one to welcome it had vanished. It takes years, but eventually Rasa if the Gold Dust is able to bring things under control.

The Fourth

Rasa was dealt a mixed hand, but life was about finding the things that have value, and so throughout his reign he sought to find value in his village. At the time of his being named Kazekage, his village is shattered. It's previous Kazekage was missing, and it's own daimyo was starting to abandon it, in the wake of the results of the previous two Kazekage. He was able to bring in the Honoured Siblings once more, to guide them through the remaining years. He meets Karura. It is an arranged marriage, in an attempt to build a strong relationship with a major clan she was part of. They are not in love with each other, but they grow to trust each other, and develop a form of love for one another.

He throws himself into research, trying to find different ways to bring resources to his impoverished village. He develops a unique jutsu for mining Gold Dust, their main source of income and the source of his title. He brings back some of the harshness of the previous Kazekage, but tempers it with the kindness of his wife. And so Suna is again able to bring back some of it's former strength. And soon, he has two children with his wife, and he is able to see his village through the war. But not all his plans work out. He needs a new Jinchuriki, he knows this. For the One Tails was currently sealed in a tea kettle, and was useless in battle. As a sign of control, he attempts to have it sealed in one of his own children. But the first two are not compatible, and the sealing process along with the strain of childbirth takes away his wife.

He mourns, but has the hope that Gaara will bring about a change. But as he soon realizes, Suna had lost it's best sealing masters when the old temples collapsed. The seal was not perfect, and so Gaara goes through sleepless nights and slaughters innocents by mistake. His project is a failure. But eventually he is able to settle Gaara into a different state. It is not the same as the grand hero he had hoped for, but a weapon of Suna will have to do, he thinks. But with the rise of the new era, comes change. On a single day, Rasa is killed, dying to save his son.
