Winter flew alongside Brilzrar, both were quiet, the only sounds being the flap of their wings and the rushing air that blew past them. Brilzrar was by far the largest dragon Winter had laid eyes upon, he glanced over at the primarily blue furred dragon, letting a huff escape his maw before asking Brilzrar.

"I don't understand... If I am not just a mere prince.. then who am I really?" At this question, Brilzrar turned his head to look at Winter, the smaller Icewing flapping his wings at a quicker pace while Brilzrar took slow powerful flaps, as to keep at a speed Winter felt comfortable with.

"Long ago, there was a group of seven dragons, who were named the protectors. the leader, who was an Icewing was called Winter. You are a reincarnation of that very same dragon. though right now you are just a mere dragonet. The spirits will soon grant you the power of your old self, though first you must adapt to the enemy of the spirits. for it's an energy like none other" He finished, looking forwards while Winter looked at Brilzrar with a dumbfounded look, turning to look forwards to think. Though he then asked another question.

"I must ask. Are you really a dragon? I have never seen a dragon in a Bipedal form before?" Tilting his head to the side while Brilzrar let out a huff, orange flames being puffed out before he glanced at Winter.

"I am an ancient being from a species of half dragon/human. We were made to keep your realm safe, the Spirits picked me twenty thousand years ago" To this Winter's eyes widened as he cried out. "That's... Impossible! Our history only goes back five thousand years!"

Brilzrar raised a forepaw, making a gesture which told Winter to quieten down before he carried on. "I kept my identity hidden and lived in the human world. yet have been summoned as the threat of extinction of your kind is looming. We must have a new cluster of seven hero's to step forth and stop it from happening" Winter then looked down at the ground, watching it fly past quickly, his eyes wide as he thought to himself.

I'm... Not who I was led to believe... it was all a big stupid lie, I can't believe this! His flying became a bit erratic, catching the eye of Brilzrar, who spoke to him through telepath.

(Indeed Winter, you were lied to, Though it was for your safety. Tundra and Narwhal never liked that fact that they had to lie to you. Though it is indeed true, they aren't your parents. The seven spirits came to your real parents, telling them of the grave danger, after Polaris had explained what would happen if you were killed, your parents passed you onto them. who then passed you onto Tundra, trusting her to keep you safe)

Winter looked away from Brilzrar, digesting the information that Brilzrar had given him. Yet he had no time as Brilzrar suddenly said. "Ah, we are here, time for me to disappear, though only you will be able to see me" with that, he became invisible, Winter looked at where Brilzrar was, licking his lips as he then asked.

"So I will see you all the time, you wont leave me alone, right?" He questioned when Brilzrar answered, flapping his wings as they came closer to the ledge of the entrance to Jade mountain school. "Indeed I am Winter, as I said before, I am your protector, It is my job to protect you from any harm"

Giving a nod, Winter landed on the large ledge, groaning as an angry Tsunami was waiting for him, as to were the rest of the teachers.

"WHERE ON THREE MOONS HAVE YOU BEEN WINTER!" She roared out, her chest heaving as Winter questioned with a confused look.

"It's only been a day right?" He looked at each of the confused and angry faces, something telling him it had been a lot longer than a day. "Um, it's been a whole week Winter" Starflight piped up, raising a single forepaw digit as Winter just stared at him, mouth agape as he then thought.

A whole week! How Brilzrar, it felt like a day!

( In the underground forest, time moves slower then outside, this happens due to the underground forest being the home to the spirits) Brilzrar explained to Winter as Winter gave a nod, completely forgetting that Tsunami and the other teachers were standing in front of him.

"Hello, Pyrrhia to Winter, are you listening to me!" Tsunami snapped her talons in front of Winter, Winter shook his head as he then tried to compose himself. (Relax Winter, just act like yourself) Brilzrar said to him, not daring to speak verbally as Winter gave another little nod, looking at Tsunami with his normal cold stare.

"I'm fine, just didn't know it had been a week" He then went past them, though Tsunami grabbed his tail as she said. "Winter!, this isn't okay, you were gone for a week, everyone including Queen Glacier were worried for you, and you just reappear like nothing happened!" She looked at him, staring at him with an expression that said [You are in deep trouble]

Winter pulled his tail from her grip before heading into the entrance of the school, Brilzrar, who watched the whole thing, made his way behind the smaller Icewing, his steps being silent while he followed Winter through the corridors.

(Well, that went splendidly) Brilzrar said to Winter. He looked back at Brilzrar, giving a nod as he came across his winglet's cave, hearing his friends chatting about him in the cave.

"I wonder where he's been? Did you see the large creature that took him! It was massive!" Qibli said. Winter stopped just outside of the cave, listening to them speak as he then heard Moon speak.

"Whoever... or whatever took him, wanted him badly. For what reason, nobody knows, I just hope he is okay, I mean, it's been a whole week!" Winter felt his heart ache as he listened to his friends chat about him being taken by Brilzrar, he looked back at Brilzrar, seeing the blue and yellow furred dragon just standing there, a few dragons just phasing through him, as if he wasn't there.

"Oh!, Hey Winter!" Peril said, waving a paw at him as he groaned. "Great, all I need" The sound of quickened paw steps flowed from the cave as one by one, his friends came bolting out of the cave, Kinkajou was the first to jump on him.

"WINTER, OH GOSH, WE WERE SO WORRIED FOR YOU!" The Rainwing coiled her tail around his body, not letting him go as the rest of his friends all smiled down at him. "At least he is back!" Qibli said in a cheerful way, Moon stood next to him as she gave him a wave.

"Hey Winter, a-are you okay?" The Nightwing asked, her expression turned into one of worry as Winter had a few small cuts on him, though the most noticeable thing was the chip on his right horn, a few gasps coming from not just his friends, but a few other dragons who had stopped to see what the commotion was about.

"Oh gosh, your horn!" Kinkajou exclaimed, running a forepaw along his chipped horn, only to have Winter growl and slap her paw away from him. "Get off me Rainwing" Kinkajou looked slightly hurt as she got off him, Qibli frowned at him as he stepped forwards.

"Winter, you need to tell us all what happened. you seem... different not sure how to put a talon on it though?" He rose his snout slightly, his eyes narrowing as he studied his Icewing friend. Something was off, he knew right away, Qibli was very smart, able to put things together quickly. Though he decided to not ask as Winter and the rest of the group went into their cave.

The next Day

"Okay everyone, please take a seat, stop crowding Winter!" Webs snorted loudly, moving behind his teacher desk as the students all took their seats. a few whispering between each other while Winter looked relaxed himself, yet didn't show it as he kept his cold mask on. Brilzrar had laid down in a large open place where no chairs were, keeping an eye on Winter while Webs started to talk.

"Okay, now, before we start I know that Winter has been gone for a week. though please do not bug him" He glanced at Winter, narrowing his eyes slightly before he returned his gaze to the class. "Today we will be learning about the scor-" He was suddenly interrupted by Kinkajou. "Why don't we see where Winter was last before he was taken!" The rest of the class immediately started to talk among themselves as Winter looked back at Brilzrar, though he only gave Winter a shrug as Webs pinched the bridge of his nose, groaning out as he knew he was not going to get anywhere with them.

"Okay okay, everyone get up, we are going out on a trip" Cheers all sounded in the class room as they all started to walk out of the class room in a single file, with Webs in the front as Brilzrar and Winter stayed at the back.

Won't they find the object that you came in? He questioned Brilzrar. The large male dragon looked to his left at Winter, having to also look down at him as he said telepathically. (No, though the frozen ground will still be there, for it can never melt, nor be removed)

He explained to Winter, suddenly there was a commotion at the entrance of the school as a Icewing student cried out. "Queen Glacier, I..It's an honour!" Winter suddenly felt worried, he knew Glacier was Extremely good at not only reading someone's emotions, but she has a way to pull information from anyone.

He suddenly found himself standing in front of Glacier. The larger Icewing looking down at him, yet Brilzrar was still at least twice her size as he narrowed his bright blue eyes at Glacier, still remaining invisible to everyone.

"Winter, where on three moons have you been!" She let frost breath spill from her maw slightly as Winter suddenly felt small under his Queen's stare, he felt his words get locked up in his throat, struggling to speak as he stared behind him at Brilzrar. "What are you staring at?" Glacier asked while looking past Winter, trying to see what he was looking at, confusion consuming her facial expressions before she returned to her cold look. "Well, do you want to explain how you suddenly just disappeared without a trace, the whole Icewing army scouted the area where you were last spotted. Qibli said a strange creature picked you up before disappearing in a flash of light" She narrowed her gaze before lowering her head, whispering into his left ear.

"Don't lie to me Winter. you are my most favourite nephew" She then rose her head when Winter suddenly said. "I'll... take you to the crater where the anomaly fell from the heavens" His eyes wide as he went to pass Glacier, yet she blocked him with her left wing, looking at him as she then said. "No Winter... Whatever happened alarms me. Who ever this unknown... beast is must not grab you again, and for that you will be taken back to the Ice kingdom, where you will have five guards assigned to you at All times" Winter was about to protest when Glacier gave him the most cold stare, making him shiver under her glare "And no buts, i will not have Any of my dragons put in danger!"

"I... understand your majesty" He bowed to her, yet glanced to his right, since Brilzrar made his way to Winter's right side. Glacier tucked her wings against her sides, her facial expression becoming less angry looking as she gave Winter a pat on the head, much to his displeasure.

(Glacier sure is quite the protective Queen, though I don't blame her) Winter rolled his eyes as he raised his head from the bowing position, letting out a snort while Glacier made her way towards the entrance of the school, yet stopped. she spoke in her mind, turning her head slowly to where she gave Winter and Brilzrar a side eye look, as if she knew Brilzrar was there somehow.

I know you're there creature. I do how we can discuss things further later

Brilzrar narrowed his gaze at Glacier, Polaris showed herself to Winter and Brilzrar, yet remained invisible to everyone else. "Glacier is a very intelligent Queen, she is cunning and is able to put pieces of a puzzle together. Similar to Qibli" She finished as she then disappeared once more into the darkness.

Winter remained as ridged as ice, watching Glacier leave the school while two Icewing guards walked up to him, both of them in full armour as the larger of the two, who was clearly a male spoke. "Prince Winter, please follow behind Glacier, we will fly alongside you to protect you"

Winter rolled his eyes slightly, looking to his right at Brilzrar. Great, can't I get any peace He complained to Brilzrar while letting a huff of frost escape from his nostrils, Brilzrar ruffled his wings slightly, making his way past Winter before saying. (Do as you are told Winter, don't make this appear suspicious in any way. We don't need any distractions. Not until we gather the rest of the six dragons) He narrowed his gaze at Winter as he finished, looking back at him as he phased through the guards, making his way to the entrance of the school.

Glacier already seems to know something is wrong... This is going to be more difficult than I thought Winter pondered while tapping a talon against the underside of his chin, the two guards waiting patiently as did Glacier and her royal guards. "Come along now Winter, we can't remain here, not when that... Thing is running around" Winter shook his head before padding up towards his Aunt, making his way past her as he felt her icy stare pierce into his soul.

Snapping his wings open, Winter was about to take flight when Qibli and his winglet friends came rushing to the front. "Winter, your leaving already?!" Qibli seemed upset, yet covered it up with his normal cheerful expression as he made his way up to the Icewing, hugging him while Winter protested. suddenly he found himself covered by his friends, all of them hugging him and asking him to send letters to them. Winter let out a loud snort, telling everyone to get off him as he then said.

"I will, don't worry about me" Moon took a step forwards, for she was the only one to not tackle Winter. "H-how can we not worry about you? You're our friend?" She lowered her head slightly as Winter's cold icy stare seemed to grow a bit soft when he looked at her. Lowering his head, he whispered to the Nightwing. "Don't worry Moon. I'mm promise to send letters to you all" And with that, he turned around and launched into the air, flapping his wings as Glacier, the guards and Brilzrar all followed.

Winter took once last look behind him, staring at his friends, teachers and dragons he had yet to get to know. Letting a sigh escape him, Brilzrar slowly came to his right side, his wing span was gigantic, making his own wing span seem pathetic. Brilzrar spoke up as he looked at Winter. (When we land, it is best to avoid Glacier as much as you can, for that way I can talk to you properly) Winter turned his gaze to his right at Brilzrar, his gaze dropping down at the ground as they all flew over it.

Glacier narrowed her gaze at Winter. Something was wrong with her nephew, she knew that much as she sped up slightly, moving to his left side which startled the young Prince, his flapping becoming out of sync for a few seconds before he composed himself.

What is wrong with him, has something scared him? What did that creature do to him Many questions filled her mind as Brilzrar glanced at her, his expression remaining unfazed while he listened to her thoughts.

By the time they reached the great wall of ice, it had already been a few days. the large group had only taken one break for rest, yet that only lasted a few hours at best as they took off once more. Winter had remained rather distant from Glacier, something she frowned at, for Winter normally spoke to her as he found her to be the nicest out of all the royals. Yet now, Winter hadn't spoken to her since at the school, this not only worried her, but made her feel a bit suspicious.

From the Ice cliff to the palace was another day of flight. Winter huffed out as he continued to flap his wings, keeping up with the rest of Glaciers group, Brilzrar flew beside him, for he never left his side, the winds had picked up, a sign that a blizzard was moving in. Brilzrar sniffed the air, wrinkling his snout before saying (A harsh blizzard is coming, though if we keep flying, we will get there before it hits) He glanced at Winter, seeing the smaller Icewing looking at him as they lagged behind the main group. The two guards who had been assigned to Winter had also slowed down, making sure to keep close to Winter at all times.

Glacier looked behind her, seeing that Winter was further back than she thought, she let out a groan, slowing down slightly as did her royal guards. "Winter, am I going too fast for you?" She questioned, causing Winter to look at her as he thought carefully before he spoke. For he knew that Glacier could knit together even the smallest clues. He didn't want a suspicious Queen on his tail as he let out a huff. "My apologies my Queen, I am struggling to keep up, but please, don't slow down for me, I am more than fine lagging behind!" He gave her a nervous smile, Glacier narrowed her eyes slightly, thinking for a few seconds before returning her gaze forward.

By now the Palace was in sight, the Blizzard on the horizon to the north, though Winter didn't worry as it was rather far away. Brilzrar still remained at his side, though hadn't said anything since their last conversation. Winter glanced at Brilzrar, wondering what he was thinking before he heard his two guards speak up. "It's time to land Prince Winter, land where Glacier had landed, and stay close to her group" The larger of the two guards held his spear tightly while Winter stepped forwards to Glacier. "Your majesty, can I retire to my room?" He waited for her to answer, seeing her look at him, her eyes narrowed slightly as she thought.

Just relax Glacier, I'm sure nothing will happen to Winter. After all, he will have an extra three guards with him She glanced to the right, frowning before wrinkling her snout. Her tail swished about as she finally looked back at Winter. "You may. Though don't leave your room. I will post an extra three guards outside of your room. That way you can remain safe from any threat, should that creature return once more" She finished her sentence with a huff of frost breath. Exhaling before heading inside as the wind became stronger, kicking up particles of snow. Winter dipped his head. Questioning as to how he will get any privacy to chat to Brilzrar. Yet Brilzrar, hearing his thoughts answered. (Don't worry Winter. Even if I become visible to everyone. They wont be able to hear me speak)

Winter glanced up at Brilzrar, moving past the larger dragon as he made his way inside, his long tail almost dragging behind him, not knowing Glacier was keeping a very close eye on him, her eyes locked onto him as he went on his way through the large palace. His talons clicked against the Icy floor as he made his way towards where his parents and siblings lived. He took a deep breath, preparing to be disowned and verbally abused by Tundra and Narwhal. Slowly he pushed the double doors open, the first thing he noticed was both his parents sat on a pair of ice blocks that they used as the human equivalent of chairs. Upon hearing the doors open, both Tundra and Narwhal looked up to see Winter, their facial expressions changing to one of utter anger and disappointment.

Tundra was the first to speak, her voice dripping with disgust as she got up from her sitting position. "Winter, so glad you can join us. We heard what had happened, and honestly, it would be better if you just remained missing" Tundra kept her icy stare, yet she felt terrible on the inside, she Had to keep her expression as solid as ice, for that was the Icewing way, and to not bring unnecessary attention to them.

"It would of been better if he just died anyways" Icicle snorted out. she had come back a day after Winter went missing. Tundra frowned at this, she hated the fact that Winter was always bullied by Icicle, yet didn't her distaste for it as Narwhal was next to speak up. "Winter, all you do is bring shame to all us Icewings, not to mention onto Our family. You do nothing but be a burden to us all, you are a weak, pathetic excuse of a son!" He hissed out. Yet Winter was already used to them berating him for being a so called useless son to them. Unlike Hailstorm and icicle. Winter had a blue tinge to his white scales, something that both his brother and sister lacked.

He was the smallest of Hailstorm and Icicle, his siste knew this, and always picked on him for it. Hailstorm had always been the caring big brother, always checking on Winter, while making sure no one noticed.

Brilzrar. Where are you? He spoke in his mind, waiting for a reply when suddenly, Brilzrar called out to him, phasing through the double entrance doors, though he was still invisible to everyone else as he walked up beside Winter. (Yes winter?) He spoke, use his telepathic ways while Winter's parents carried on scolding him. Yet he spaced out, glancing down at the floor as he sunk into deep thought.

"Are you even listening to us?!" Tundra said angrily. ripping Winter out of his thoughts, making him look back up at his mother while blinking a few times. "My apologies mother, I... am just overwhelmed from the weeks... unprecedented events" He said, looking up at his mother who was quite a bit taller than him. Brilzrar narrowed his eyes at Tundra, shifting a bit closer to Winter as he prepared for anything. Yet soon relaxed himself as Tundra let out a loud groan of exasperation, her wings stretching out as she turned away from Winter, a deep frown upon her face while Narwhal just stared at him with the most disappointed look. "Winter, go to your room, Now!" His father growled out while Winter gave a bow towards his parents, leaving the family room as he exited the large room, shutting the room behind him as he let out a huff of tiredness.

(Your parents sure are... interesting to say the least) Brilzrar followed behind Winter, the five guards who had been assigned to him moved from guarding the main family room to guarding his room as Winter entered it, almost slamming the door in frustration. "God I hate my parents!" He pinched the bridge of his snout, shaking his head as he exhaled, moving to his ice bead which had plenty of blankets on it while he collapsed onto it, already missing his winglet while Brilzrar looked around the beautifully decorated room. Plenty of Icewing paintings decorated the walls as he went up to one and grabbed it gently.

(what a beautiful piece. I never knew you Icewings were so talented at producing pieces like this!) Grabbing a piece that hung from a pin in the wall, handling the piece with care as his eyes roamed over it, which was a frozen tundra landspace with pine trees that decorated the foreground. A large frozen lake was in the background as tall mountains stretched up high into the sky far off in the distance, white wispy clouds filled the sky with the sun starting to set, giving the sky a soft orange glow.

"It was a gift from Queen Glacier, she said that it represents my personality" Winter mumbled while he looked at Brilzrar who placed the art piece back onto the pin. He then turned his head to look at Winter. (To represent your personality? How curious) He tapped a talon against his chin, the sound of someone opening his door made Brilzrar and Winter look at it. In an instant, Brilzrar become invisible as one of the guards came in. "Queen Glacier wants to talk to you at once Prince Winter" She bowed to him before leaving his room, Winter let out a groan, burying his head into his pillows for he didn't want to chat to Glacier at this point in time. Yet he dragged himself from his bed, letting out a yawn as he got himself ready to talk to her majesty.

(Be careful Winter, for Glacier is far cleverer than she appears to be. We must be careful in what answers we give) Brilzrar warned Winter, his tail swished slowly as Winter made his way to the front door to his room. He grabbed the handle, pulling it open as he then stepped out from his room. "Prince Winter, please follow me" The five guards started to walk in a diamond shape around him, two guards at each of his sides, one behind him, and the other two in front of him. He felt a bit small around the adult guards as he was escorted to the main throne room where Glacier and her council were.

Glacier was sat on her throne, chatting with her council members before she noticed Winter had come in "Ah, thank you for coming Winter. You are probably wondering why I have called you here yes?" Her tongue clicked against the roof of her mouth while Winter remained still, his guards had moved away from him when Glacier waved a paw at them, she then focused on Winter once more, rising from her throne before making her way down the steps, her talons clicking against the ice floor as she then stopped in front of him. Looking down at him.

"Everyone besides my council, leave the room at once" She commanded, all the guards turning to leave the room as they marched their way, the last guard closed the large double doors behind her. Winter glanced to his left, seeing Brilzrar off to the side of the room, laying down with his side resting against the icy wall. (Remember Winter, be cleaver with answering her questions. Don't make her more suspicious then she already is) Winter gave a little nod, not realising that Glacier had started to circle around him.

"A few of your friends said they witnessed you vanishing in a blinding light. You have been gone for a whole week, only to reappear like nothing happened. Do tell me Winter... What did this Creature look like?" She stopped in front of Winter, glaring at him with icy blue eyes while he looked down, thinking on a response as his mind worked as hard as it could. He thought and thought, finally looking back up as he replied.

"I am not sure your majesty... Everything was blurry, and the creature remained in the darkness, never showing himself. So I couldn't see any of his details" He hoped she would buy his answer. Her eyes narrowing slightly as she stared into his eyes. looking to see if he was telling the truth. Winter felt dread build up inside of him, preying to the Great Ice Dragon that she wouldn't notice anything. Glacier shook her head, moving back as she commented. "You seem to speak the truth Winter. You will remain here for two weeks, then you may go back to the school" She started her way back to her throne. Brilzrar let out a snort as he said to Winter. (That is too long. I know that you never wish to break any Icewing laws. Yet you must, leave tonight and don't turn back Winter. Find your winglet and bring them to me and the spirits) He then vanished even from Winters eyes as Winter frowned, he then looked back at his aunt, seeing she was back on her throne as he then asked. "May I be dismissed your majesty?" He bowed to her as she stared at him.

"You may, though remember. Don't leave your room, your guards will bring you food or a drink. And if you wish to speak with Hailstorm or Lynx, then your guards will follow you to their rooms" She then waved her paw at him, telling him that this meeting was over.

Winter turned around and started his way back to his room. Pushing the double doors open as he left the throne room. His guards looked at him as he passed them, he let out a snort while they started to follow him, Brilzrar was nowhere to be seen, making Winter start to worry as he sped up slightly to his room.

I need to get back to my room. Perhaps Brilzrar will show himself there The sound of his and the guards talons clicking against the icy floor echoed through the corridor as he neared his room. reaching the door, he pushed it open as he entered the large room, closing it behind him before letting out a shaky breath.

"Tonight, I'll leave my room, perhaps I can leave when the guards change watch" He mumbled to himself, giving a nod before turning to his bed, making his way over to it before flopping onto it. His mother and father would have chastised him for such an unroyally action. Though right now, he couldn't care less as he slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
