Chapter 16

"In Cahoots with Reverend Kane"

"How dare you, ha ha?" Mickey hissed angrily. "How dare you accuse me of what has been happening around here lately? I'm sorry about your friend ending up in the hospital, but what do I care? You shouldn't have been in either area in the first place! They are closed to the public, even the federal authorities!"

Mickey still had his defiance about him and I wasn't going to take any chances. Little did anyone know that inside my suit jacket was a pair of handcuffs just waiting to be placed on Mickey's wrists. Anyone who was working with Reverend Henry Kane deserves to end up just like what Mickey was going to be when all was said and done.

"Then how do you explain the deaths that happened at River Country? You know, the ones with brain eating amoeba?"

"Those were accidents, ha ha!" Mickey protested, trying to get up only to be pushed back down on his bed. "Nothing more than accidents!"

"Oh really?" said a voice and in stepped Daisy Duck holding what appeared to be a tape recorder in her hand. "Then how do you explain this?"

"Daisy? What are you doing?" Mickey cried angrily.

"About to hand over the entire truth about your practices to the FBI," Daisy laughed. "You knew that there deaths and you would do just about anything to cover up your dirtied hands."

Mickey knew that his cover was being blown and it was understandable that he wanted to go and kill Daisy for exposing him. But, the writing was on the wall, at least for Mickey.

"I think you'll find everything here," she said, handing the tape recorder to Beau, much to Mickey's anger.

"Daisy Duck," he growled. "As of this moment, ha ha, you are fired from Walt Disney World, you traitor!"

"Sorry to tell you, Mickey, but I doubt it," Daisy remarked with a sly chuckle. "You tried to force me to play your game by covering news stories that don't reveal the whole truth! Well the game is over. I've done my job right and will continue to do it right."

Just then, from the corner of his eye, Mickey saw Reverend Kane sitting on one of the chairs with a disgusted look on his face.

"And as it turns out," Fred said. "Looks like we caught your partner."

Just then, two FBI agents came in brought in Ranger Worldlow, the man who tried to murder me a few days earlier.

"What's he doing here?" Mickey demanded.

"It's not what we all think," Fred said and he walked over to Ranger Worldlow and placed his hands on the sides of his neck. "Ranger Worldlow is really…"

Removing the mask, we had discovered the Ranger Worldlow was another person and not just any person…

"Victor Hugo!" we all cried.

"I'm sorry, boss," he whimpered, trying to struggle against the two FBI agents holding him back. "I tried to escape, but they caught me."

"Don't listen to him, ha ha," Mickey cried. "He's just a weakling, failing to do what is expected of him. You're fired, Hugo and I hope the Reverend takes you!"

Just then, Clarice walked over and placed her hand on Mickey's forehead.

"Hey, what are you doing now, ha ha? Stop it!"

After a few moments, Clarice released her hand.

"What is it?" Beau asked.

"He's been in league with Reverend Henry Kane," Clarice sighed. "Apparently, both him and Hugo were promised to be given complete control of not just the park, but the entire Walt Disney Company."

"I should be running Walt's company, I'm the official mascot, ha ha!"

"Not quite," Fred said. "There's four of you running each Disney park, but you are the one with the most revenue, so that you felt entitled to grow your business by any means necessary, even going as far as covering up three people who died of brain eating amoeba."

Mickey realized that his cover was blown and he couldn't run from his problems anymore.

"Fine, you caught me! I did it, ha ha!" Mickey confessed. "I have a dream to one day take over the entire Disney company because Walt thought I had the most potential. He told me before he died! I needed to demonstrate that and sometimes, I had to make sacrifices which involves guests dying! Reverend Kane was providing me with at least some insurance to cover for the deaths!"

"Like, that's what you thought," Shaggy said as he and Scooby forced Mickey to his feet. "And you had no regard for human life after that."

"Or dog life," added Scooby as I took the handcuffs from under my suit jacket and handed them to Beau, who placed Mickey up against the wall.

"Well, you may have caught me," Mickey cried as two more FBI agents came into the office and placed the handcuffs on Mickey. "But Reverend Kane will get your spirit someday, Daphne Anne Blake! Mark my words, ha ha! And that goes for all of you too, you meddling kids, ha ha!"

And for the next few moments, we stood in silence listening to Mickey scream and protest as he was carried down the hall and out of the Team Disney building.

"I can't believe this," Fred sighed. "How could someone as famous as Mickey Mouse go about killing innocent park goers just to further his own goals?"

"Makes you wonder if the other Mickey's are behaving in the same manner," I sighed. "You never know."

"Well, right now, we need to figure out who's going to take Mickey's place?" remarked Daisy. "Walt Disney World needs a leader that hopefully doesn't have a shady past."

"And these tape recordings will prove that Mickey Mouse of Disney World never regains his position again," Beau said. "My superiors in Washington are going to love hearing this. He will never hold a high ranking position again after this."

Either way, Mickey was defeated, but back at the hospital, Velma was about to receive a ghostly visitor from beyond the grave.
