It didn't take long for Sora, Ruby, Donald, Goofy and the others to catch up to the trick-or-treaters. Their method of transportation was rather slow, but it did cause the group to stop and stare in befuddlement as they looked up at it. It appeared to be...a bathtub with legs, waddling along the curly hill, which suddenly straightened out and extended into a path toward another part of Halloween Town.

As they followed Zero toward the hill, Weiss once again found herself trying to suppress the urge to question how in the world the hill did that. Questions once again wracked her brain so much that she felt like screaming in frustration...which perhaps would be thematically fitting with her costume, but now wasn't the time!

As they ran along the hill, they skidded to a halt as they beheld a most frightening house. It looked like an amalgamation of various decorations and styles of haunted houses all plastered on top of one another. Fittingly bizarre along with the rest of the world, but this one radiated a much more wrong feeling than the somewhat more lighthearted Halloween themed buildings around this world. Jack frowned angrily as he realized what was happening. "I knew Oogie Boogie was behind this!" he proclaimed, drawing a curious inquiry from Ruby. "Who's Oogie Boogie?"

"He's also known as the Boogieman. The embodiment of children's worst nightmares. He and I had a rivalry years ago because he had his own holiday called Bug Day but was also known as 'Crawloween'. At least that's what he told me," Jack said as they walked across the bridge and towards the eerie, oddly shaped manor. "When he heard about the Pumpkin King, that's my title, he was jealous of me being scarier than him so he tried to outclass me at everything. But his actions in doing so lead to a coup to take over Halloween Town and renaming it 'Crawloween'. A holiday dedicated to bugs. I foiled his scheme though and confined him to his manor, here. Though he doesn't seem to have learned his lesson in the slightest, even after all this time."

"Crawloween? A day about bugs?" Weiss said skeptically. "And here I thought Yang's jokes were bad." Yang's face briefly shifted to a look of offense, before pausing as in that next moment...an idea came to her. With a shrug and a grin, she "So Jack. You're saying you put him in the punitentiaryfor his actions?" Weiss stopped in her tracks as she and everyone else, except for Goofy and Jack, looked toward Yang with equal disbelief. The Schnee heiress huffed and wanted to say something though it seemed like she was at a loss for words. "Yang. These weren't even... punny!" she finally said, pointing at her and trying to give Yang a taste of her own medicine.

A plan which ultimately backfired as Yang smiled and said, "Yeah, you do have a... point." Her own pointed finger tapping to Weiss' and the ghoulish looking girl paused and slumped in annoyed defeat. But Yang wasn't done yet. "Aww, come on, Weiss. No need to get all huffy. I didn't even get to tell you that your costume makes a perfect Banschnee!"

"Yang. Please. Stop. I'm begging you." Ruby begged, burying her face in her hands. A frustration that obviously didn't come close to Weiss's, but was still...well the results spoke for themselves. Why? Why was her sister like this? Just...why?

Int he midst of the group's pun induced suffering, nobody noticed the statues attached to Oogie's manor stirring. They went from stone gray to a more vibrant yet still unsettling colors as their eyes glowed yellow and Heartless emblems lit up on their chests. Their heads slowly turned toward the intruders as their stiff bodies began moving. Blake's ears twitched, picking up the sounds of their wings flapping. "You guys? We've got company."

She called it out just in time, as the horned, gargoyle-like Heartless dove down upon them. The group managed to dive out of the way, and block the flying Heartless as needed, though there was an entire flock of them perched along the manor. "Oh dear. Is it just me, or are the Heartless getting more angry than before? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all." Jack said nervously. "YOU THINK?!" Weiss and Donald exclaimed in sync as they and the others fought off the flock.

But the longer they stood here fighting them, the less time they had to get the heart back from the trick-or-treaters. "Come on! We've gotta push through!" Jaune exclaimed, lifting his shield to block a kick from one Gargoyle's twisted talons. But unfortunately, there was one problem. "It's a dead end! There's no way to get further up!" Sora exclaimed. Jack however noticed something peculiar about that floor laying lantern in the middle of the . "Sora! Try and light that lantern!" he suggested. Sora didn't have much time to question it, so he ran forward. His path to the lantern was intercepted by a Search Ghost materializing in front of him and lashing out at him. It was suddenly intercepted by an uppercut followed by an ax-kick from Yang. "I'll cover you, Sora!" she said with a smirk and a wink. Sora felt a mild flush of red touch his cheeks as a result. Was it perhaps due to Yang's costume? No, he didn't have time to focus on that. He had to light that lantern. "Fire!" And sure enough, the lantern started to shift upward. It wasn't simply a lantern, it was a platform! "Everyone! Come on!" he called.

Everyone piled in, getting on the platform, though it only had room for a few at a time as Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Jack were the first on it. "Uh oh! It's not big enough for everyone!" Goofy exclaimed worriedly as it began to ascend. "You guys go first! We'll catch up with you!" Ruby called, turning to cleave a Search Ghost in two with Crescent Rose.

Sora watched anxiously as everyone else fight the Heartless as the platform ascended. Though he didn't like the idea of splitting up, there wasn't any time to wait around. The four made it to the top most part where the lantern platform stopped. They went across wooden planks stacked together for a makeshift catwalk going up the manor and towards what seemed to be a large, very unsettling tree house. Sora kept his attention forward, so he didn't notice a Gargoyle near one of the far reaching branches reel its head back with an open maw and blue flames gathering above. One of its clawed hands grabbed the fire then tossed it as Sora.

Goofy noticed the glowing light coming towards him and rushed at Sora's side with his shield up, stopping the flames and extinguishing them. Right when it happened, Sora realized Goofy saved him and smiled. "Thanks, Goofy." The Frankenstein dog man smiled, still holding his shield up. "Anytime, Sora. What are friends for?" he said cheerfully.

The Gargoyle that almost got Sora started floating towards them and Jack, noticing there wasn't very much ground beneath it, had an idea. "Take that!" With a wave of his hand, he performed a gravity-styled spell on the Gargoyle, making it fall all the way to the bottom of the canyon where Oogie's manor was placed, likely flattened to a two dimensional level, if not entirely destroyed. With a more clear path, everyone ran on. They made it to the top where the tree house was, two Gargoyles flying at the roof of it. Before either could intercept Sora heading for the doors, Donald shot at one of the Gargoyles with a fire spell as Jack hit the other with bolts of lightning. They entered just in time to see Lock, Shock and Barrel at the other end of the small but disturbing looking children's playroom and toss the artificial heart down into a chute that looked like a monster's mouth. Right as they did, the children turned in surprise to their tree house door shutting.

"Where's the heart?!" Donald shouted. The three kids froze in shock when they realized they'd been caught. There was no getting out of this one, so they chose to surrender. "We were just following orders! Oogie Boogie told us to steal the heart! It's all Barrel's fault! It was his idea to tell Oogie Boogie about the heart!" Shock exclaimed, pointing to the skeleton costumed boy. "Yeah, that's right!" Lock said, hopping onto the bandwagon of blame, much to the shock of Barrel. "B-But you guys said-" "You should be ashamed!" Shock interrupted.

Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Jack obviously weren't buying it as stared at the three kids trying to dodge the blame. It was quite clear that all three of them were to blame, but they didn't have time to focus on that. They needed to find Oogie Boogie and get the Heart back. "Lock, Shock, Barrel. Tell us where Oogie Boogie is." Jack said with a soft yet commanding voice. The three kids looked at each other nervously, scared of what Oogie Boogie might do if he finds out they gave it away. "Oogie Boogie told us not to give away his hiding place. Oh, and we're not supposed to talk about the lever either." Barrel said anxiously, drawing a sharp "SHHHH!" from Lock and Shock, but it was too late. He'd slipped up.

The four looked around the room, and sure enough, there was a lever sticking out of a brass machine of some sort. Donald hopped up, trying to pull the lever, but try and grunt strenuously as he might, the lever was quite stuck. Almost as if it were stuck. Even as Goofy tried to pull it down, it didn't budge. "Hmmm. Quite a stubborn lever." Jack said, stroking his bony chin. So, Sora decided to take matters into his own hands as he summoned his Keyblade. Donald and Goofy turned to see Sora winding up as he told them to, "Get out of the way, guys!" Both of them quickly released the lever as Sora reared his arms up, and gave the lever a great big swing. Sure enough, the lever moved!

As it did, the two large gears coming out the machine the lever was attached to began to move inward. Barrel gulped, noticing the glare from Lock and Shock before turning to Sora. "I'd stay away from Oogie Boogie, if I were you. Being on his bad side never does anyone any good."

"It doesn't matter if they try," Shock said with assurance and a proud smile. "They'll never find the green door."

"So we need to look for a green door to get to Oogie Boogie. Thanks." Goofy said in genuine appreciation, a little naive to think she was genuinely helping them and as soon as she realized it, Shock groaned with her hung head being facepalmed by herself. Lock and Barrel were the ones looking to her in disapproval that time.

Jack looked to his new friends with a more serious expression. "Alright. We know how to find him. And I know when I forced him to remain in this manor, he was somewhere in the bottom most part of it. Let's go."

As they made their way down again, they met Ruby and the rest of the Remnant allies halfway. "Guys!" Sora called out, waving to them as they rushed up to meet him, Donald, and Goofy. "Where's the heart? Did you guys get it?" Jaune asked in hopefulness. "No. They sent it to Oogie Boogie." Sora answered apologetically.

A most worrying turn of events. Jack in particular was incensed. "Curse that Oogie Boogie. Who knows what he might make the Heartless do if he uses the heart for his own purposes?" he muttered furiously. If he so much as harmed a hair on the people of Halloween Town...

Fortunately Goofy rejuvenated their spirits with some good news. "But we do know he's here somewhere at the lower part of the manor. And he's behind a green door. Should be easy to find." That made everyone brighten up at least a little. "Well at least we know where to go." Blake said.

"There's one problem though." Ren pointed out, looking over the ledge of the walkway. "That's a very long way down and not all of us can make that jump." As Ren pointed that out, Nora's attention shifted when she noticed something else. Another lever sticking out of the wall. "What's this lever do?" she asked out loud, not even waiting for an answer as she pulled it. "Nora, wait!" Jaune exclaimed too little too late. But fortunately, all it did was make the giant spider-like cage slowly move to the lower area, opening the way for them.

"That works." Pyrrha said optimistically before Nora pulled it back up. Once everyone went inside, Pyrrha used her semblance to pull the lever down. And sure enough, as Pyrrha guided them down, they eventually came to the bottom portion of Oogie Boogie's manor, where they found a very tell-tale green door with Oogie-Boogie's face on it. "Is that supposed to be him?" Weiss asked, squinting at the unsettling face. "That's him alright." Jack confirmed angrily. Goofy let out a small gulp at the mere sight of the door. "Gawrsh, he does seem kinda spooky." he said nervously. And they hadn't even seen the real walking sack yet. "Goofy, EVERYTHING in this world is spooky." Donald said with an unamused frown.

"Come on, everyone! Let's got get that heart back!" With the Pumpkin King's passionate declaration, he swung open the doors to Oogie Boogie's lair. That nefarious boogieman wasn't going to get away with this on the Pumpkin King's watch.
