SO, this is . . . a Literati, Bangel, Jeronica fan fiction in which Rory and Jess, residing in Sunnydale, CA instead of Star's Hollow, happen to be wearing a Veronica and JD Couple Costume purchased at Ethan Raine's shop during the events of the BTVS episode "Halloween."

IF you aren't a Buffy fan, all you need to know is that there was an episode where a guy opened a costume shop and, on Halloween night, all the people who got their costumes from him magically morphed into whatever they were dressed up as.

FTR, this is a crossover of BTVS, Heathers: the Musical, and Gilmore Girls :) Enjoy!

Chapter One: What's Your Damage?

Jess stared open mouthed as Rory strolled into the living room. Her plaid skirt and blue blazer weren't that different from her Chilton uniform, but the blue knee highs, Mary Janes, and bright blue headband got him a little giddy, especially when she strolled up to him and asked him to participate in a "lunchtime poll."

"Okay, not going to lie. I've always considered you to be one of the most beautiful girls I've known, but as Veronica Sawyer? Shall I just say you look "so very?" Jess smirked at his own joke as he reached out to pull Rory into a kiss.

Rory blushed, swatting at Jess playfully. It had taken a lot of cajoling on on her part to get her ultra non-celebratory boyfriend to agree to a couple's costume for The Sunnydale Halloween Ball, but when she'd pouted, he finally gave in, surprising her by taking her to the new costume shop that had just opened up. It had been a little sketchy: small and cramped with almost no natural light and a shopkeeper named Ethan who seemed overly enthusiastic about helping them find the "perfect costumes." They had both been shocked to find the Heathers couples costume. Heathers, one of their shared favorite movies, had created a much more accommodating Jess, especially when he confirmed that he just had to sling on a long trench and all black underneath.

Jess was made to be JD. Rory pulled him in for a long, sizzling kiss, wrapping her fingers through his hair. Rory exhaled slowly as he sent a tingle of pleasure down her spine into her toes. Giddy from both the kiss and the promise of the night's potential, she batted her eyelashes at her fella.

"If you keep being this nice, I'll let you buy me a slushee," Rory quipped, threading her arm through Jess's.

"Did you say a cherry or a coke slushee?" Jess returned, pulling her close.

They laughed as they gathered their props: a slurpee cup for Jess and a croquet mallet for Rory. Holding hands as they strolled, they walked together through the streets of Sunnydale, trying to avoid the sketchy alleys and back streets that were the easiest way to navigate to the nightclub where everyone partied. The sun was shining and it was warm, but the dark would be coming soon and, even though neither Rory or Jess believed all the rumors about weird things creeping the backstreets of the town, it was undeniable that Sunnydale had higher than usual crime rates. They didn't care that night: they were young and they looked good, the party at The Bronze was supposed to be packed, and they were both excited to dance, snack, and have a little bit of Halloween fun. They were in love, even if it was too early to admit it, and they couldn't keep their hands off each other, their hips crashing together as they recklessly paused to kiss and paw at each other.

"Hey," Jess said, pulling Rory into his arms again. "Why don't we duck into this alley for a couple minutes and focus on making out so we don't end up gnashing our teeth together?"

She met his mouth in answer and didn't even push him away as he moved his hand down to cup her butt. He was hot and, as much as she was too much of a good girl to ever admit it out loud, the JD costume was really working for him. Sure, JD had been a psycho, but he was a fictional psycho and, surely, it had to be psychologically purging to lust after a fictional psycho, right? Some sort of bad boy catharsis? Then again, she thought, mulling over her and Jess's relationship, her boyfriend wasn't exactly squeaky clean. A Sunnydale transplant only due to an inability to stay out of trouble while living with his mother, Jess and JD had some similarities: brooding intellectuals, couldn't control their tempers, arrogant, and smoldering . . . but, Rory reminded herself, Jess was more rebel-without-a clue than school shooter.

But his hands. The lust angle was certainly similar. Before Jess, Rory had had one serious boyfriend and while she had cared about him, she had never felt the same kind of hunger for Dean that she did for Jess. She never would have let Dean pull her into a dark alley to stroke up the side of her though and, more to the point, Dean wouldn't have ever tried.

"Okay, Bo Diddley," she said, taking his trench lapel into her fists. "As hot as this is, we better motor if we are going to be at The Bronze on time."

Jess pouted, looking at the fully bright sun with a raised eyebrow. "It's Halloween and the sun isn't even down yet. What's your rush?" He leaned forward, grazing his lips over Rory's neck as she continued to grip his coat. She pulled him tighter, leaning into his body and then, suddenly, her head felt weak. She sank to the ground, her head cradled in her hands as she fought off the wooziness that crashed over her. As she grasped her head, woozy and unable to see straight, she saw Jess slide beside her before they both fell to the ground, unconscious.
