By the fire, they all sat. The decision was made - that Atreus would depart. He had to pave his own way. Make his own destiny. The path was his to forge, but he could no longer exist as a mere boy, who stuck to his father's side. It was time for him to grow.

But before he would, he needed closure.

After all, he knew next to nothing.

"...I wanted to ask you guys something." Whispered the lad.

The first to turn her head to him was Twilight Sparkle - the woman that always took keen interest in his well-being, adopting a motherly role whenever she could. Especially when she at times had to stand up for him in his youth when Kratos was particularly upset with him.

"Of course, Atreus. What's on your mind?"

"..." The question was first asked by Sunny Starscout, who anxiously sat in the corner, not too far away. She and Atreus made eye contact, and finally, he spoke.

"...Tell me when it all started...When...Father..."

"...Oh boy." Sighed the blonde woman as she rubbed her head. Applejack was not ready for this talk. "...This can a' worms really waited till the last day to open up, didn't it...?"

"He has the right to know, dear." Said Rarity, as she knitted and stitched some clothing for Atreus for his travel. "I'm shocked that none of you extended your hand to tell him yourselves, by the way."

"...Well, there's a lot of details that we'd rather skip out..." Squeaked Fluttershy, as she tended to a rabbit they had encountered on the road, healing its broken leg.

"...If I don't know it, then I do not know what legacy I am to carry on. Please?" Atreus begged.

"...Well." Rainbow Dash smirked. "Believe it or not, but everything starts when there was a time that your dad wasn't a wild warrior, who knew how to kill monsters and Gods in the blink of an eye. Matter of fact, believe it or not...he started out as a little... more controlled, you could say.

"Yep." Pinkie giggled as she constructed a doll, using hay and dye. "Kratos didn't start out flailing his weapons left and right, you know. There was a time that he was a bit calmer. Well, he's calm now, but, you know what I mean!"

At the fact that the story was going to unroll, Atreus and the students of the Mane Six immediately huddled together, eager to hear and listen about the story of Kratos. While Kratos was outside, they knew they had the time and the chance to discuss it, to give the boy the truth.

And so, Twilight softly nodded.

"It all began when Kratos refused to ever serve Ares again..."
