Dracovish is an amphibious pokemon known for the speed at which it runs along the seafloor. The apparent ease with which it adapted to a real ecological niche saw it initially considered a valid taxon even outside Galar, but this is in truth more an uneasy compromise. Dracovish's head can function outside of water for a limited time, just like how a Seaking or Lumineon can come onto land or air long enough to fight a pokemon battle. Its legs, in a remarkable failure of stratigraphy, belong to a desert species, with traction designed for running on sand, although it functions well in mud.
Unlike many hybrids, Dracovish is aware of its lower body, but this produces mixed signals; it is uncomfortable on both land and sea, and switches constantly between the two in a failed effort to make peace with its environment. Perhaps a fish tank on its head would do the trick, but few trainers are so clever. When left to its own devices, Dracovish is found lying sideways on the shore, stretching its head into the water. Should it fall asleep this way, the tide will leave it beached, as unable to get up as a Wailord - or worse still, drifting out to sea and left to survive without a trainer.
It is not clear what fate awaits feral Dracovish in the ocean, but stray sightings aside, it is unlikely to be a happy one. Its ground speed becomes less relevant the further one gets out to sea; it can not run at all beyond the continental shelf, nor does it have the flippers to resist currents. Surviving Dracovish might nonetheless form a colony in the distant ocean, a true species evolving, reliant on the force of its bite – but these poor pokemon can not breed!
