A/N: It's been literally over 10 years. I started writing this fanfic when I was in middle school. I am a fully grown adult. And I found this draft in the depths of the email I had in middle school and could not resist putting it here for old time's sake. I'm probably never going to finish this but I couldn't just not keep this story updated with a chapter I literally wrote but just never put up for whatever reason? It gives a little glimpse to the plans I had for BS that Starkids would have had to deal with in this situation. And also reading this with how Glee actually panned out is ridiculously funny to me.

Chapter Four - The Glee Factor

"Damn that G. L. E. E! They're always making twisted abominations out of everything!" - Up, Starship

Darren loved Starkid. It was where everything had begun for him, where he belonged, where he could truly be himself. It was where he had discovered his love for songwriting. And it also happened to be the place where his true and steadfast friends of many years were.

But then, there was always the factor of Glee coming in. No matter how much he loved Starkid, sometimes he couldn't help the fact that he wasn't able to come because of rehearsals or shooting. Because God knows he needed a job that paid money and kept a roof under his head. But it was seriously painful now, especially now that Starship was on its way to Broadway. Matt had urged Darren to write a few more songs for the show and help reconceive the book. Darren said that he'd try his best, but couldn't promise anything. The Glee tour was coming around again, a semi-good decision on Ryan Murphy's part - its purpose was to introduce new members of the cast from the Glee Project, and establish the few original cast members remaining as the top. Last season had been a disaster, with no one really connecting to the characters; it was a miracle that they had been renewed for a fifth season. Although, they sort of had to. Last season had ended on a cliffhanger; the results for Nationals. Ryan had decided that the final season would be the aftermath of Nationals, with more detail going into all the days remaining of school. He would also show various vignettes in the city about Rachel and Kurt's careers, but would not make them focal points like he had in the previous season.

Darren wasn't going to lie, though - the tour had been fun so far. Melissa, Alex, Samuel, Lindsay, Blake, and Jacob had all been promoted to the main cast (he was really excited for the twist involving Lindsay's character, Harmony), and Jonathan, Kristin, and Gwyneth were coming back! The final season was in for some surprises, that was for sure. But back to the topic of the tour. The tour had really reconnected him with Kevin, Jenna, Chord, and Heather. The five had been given a lot of numbers together, seeing how the five seniors were given group numbers together very often, and that led to a myriad of pranks and backstage madness. The other cast members involved with the Goodbye Tour were Lea, Chris, Cory, Naya, Mark, Amber, Dianna, and Harry.

But the best part? Charlene Kaye and the Brilliant Eyes were their opening act on various nights! Darren and Charlene always spent hours after the respective shows in which she played, catching up with each other and talking about Starkid, favorite memories from college, and music in general. Darren made a mental note to ask Charlene about new song ideas for Starship later that day; she was planned to go on again that night.

Darren jumped as he heard his texting ringtone go off.

"DID YOU GET MY TEXT? WELL YOU DIDN'T TEXT ME BACK! OH MY dead GOD, UMBRIDGE STOP TEXTING ME!"

Darren immediately cracked up. He had personally gotten Joe and Tyler to recreate their iconic lines from AVPS for his ringtone. His phone was set in a way that if that ringtone went off, it was a Starkid texting him. He checked his phone as he leaned against the hallway's wall; he was waiting for his dressing room buddies, Chord and Kevin, to arrive.

"Yo, Dare, r u on yet?" he read. It was from Lauren.

"Not yet, 20 minutes," Darren texted her back.

"Good," Lo responded. "We need 2 talk."

"Why?" Darren typed the message and sent it to her. Short and sweet, like Lauren.

"Matt's on the warpath. Says you gotta rewrite 'Hideous Creatures' and 'Life,' and needs u to figure out if you want to be in the cast."

"Ur kidding me about 'Hideous Creatures' and 'Life,' rite?" Darren answered angrily. "And I don't know if I should be in the cast or not."

"Well, not about 'Hideous Creatures.' Matt had us all meet the Tom guy who's producing Starship. He's a pain in the ass."

"Come on, he can't be that bad," Darren texted. "Look, I gtg."

"The G. L. E. E.'s calling?" Lauren joked.

"Yupperoni. I'll get Charlene to call you when she's done."

"Okee dokee!" Lauren answered, and that was it.

Darren drummed his fingers, then decided to get ready. He really had no idea where Kevin and Chord were. He looked around for any signs of the two. Sighing, resigned to his fate, he walked into his dressing room and was promptly drenched by a vat of slime. He raised his arms up in defeat and bowed as he heard the sounds of clapping.

"And he's slimed!" Kevin yelped. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final shoot of 'Payback For Last Week's Onstage Embarrassment That I Will Not Go Into Detail About Stunt!'"

"Thank you, thank you very much," Darren said sarcastically as he tried to wipe off the slime. "This seems like something the Joes would do. All three of them."
"Here you go," Chord laughed, handing Darren a towel.

Darren wiped himself off with the towel. "Classic Nick moment, guys."

"You bet! And your comment about the Joes?" Kevin smirked. "Even though I don't know them very well, I wouldn't put it past them."

Most of Darren's friends from Glee were aware of Starkid. Some even knew them; for example, all of the Warblers, whom the Starkids had met at Leaky the previous year. Darren winced, remembering the video chat from a few weeks past, in which all of the Warblers expressed anger about most of the cast except for them being part of the tour. And Darren did have to admit, the Warblers had been one of the main sources of entertainment the previous tour.

"Oh! We have to meet your Starkid friends, when's the next time you see them?" Chord asked excitedly.

"Hopefully in a few days, while we have downtime. Can you guys keep a secret?"

"Maybe..." Kevin said mysteriously.

Darren cracked a smile. "Just don't take to Twitter or Facebook about it. One of shows is being planned to be off-Broadway and hopefully on Broadway within a few months, and I wrote all the songs."

"Wait, seriously?" Chord yelped. "No way!"

"Which one?" Kevin asked.

"Starship, the one about Starship Rangers and Bug World."

"The one you took all the Warblers to see and had that Glee joke?" Kevin said thoughtfully.

"Yep, that one."

"Wow. Good luck!" Chord said.

"Thanks," Darren smiled.

Suddenly lights flashed and a crackling sound pierced the air. "Fifteen minutes, if you aren't ready GET READY NOW!"

The three groaned. That was Brenden, the stage manager who knew all too well about how much the cast procrastinated when it came to getting ready. Better get ready, all three thought.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Darren smiled. Nothing like the sounds of fangirls screaming at the end of a show, he thought. Means you got the job done.

"Thanks for coming out tonight!"

"We love you guys!"

"This isn't the end!"

"Watch Glee Season 5 this fall!"

"Don't stop the Glee-ver!"

The deafening roar of the crowd was made even louder with the last crash of the drums. And then the show was oficially over.

A/N: Also, because as mentioned above I'm not updating this any more than I am tonight, here's the bullet point description of what I had planned to write all those years ago:

Plotlines:
- Matt gets booted from being a director, replaced by an up and coming who clearly has no idea what Starkid is about, and is forced to watch as his beloved show gets torn to pieces
- Denise, Joe Moses, Julia, Joey, Nick, and Joe Walker (and later Brian, causing jealousy between Meredith and him, who are dating) are also fired in favor of Glee and Broadway actors; the remaining cast clashes with them
- Fictional show doctors show up to "fix" the show; they cut Specs, Krayonder, Neato Mosquito
- Darren has to periodically stop arguments between Starkids and Glee actors, as well as a stuck up Broadway actor, and has major writers' block when the new director tells him to write new songs. He also grows angry when the director tells him to cut Status Quo, Life, and Hideous Creatures and rewrite them.
- The Starkids fired from the show rebel by writing a parody of Glee and make it into a mini movie.
- When the new director is brought to the producer's attention, the producer demands Matt or no show: he wants the show's original target audience, not random people. The producer is only interested because it could be the next Wicked, Hairspray, Rent, etc.
- Darren has the second Glee concert tour to worry about, and Lea, Cory, Chris, Riker, Telly, and the other Warblers decide to help him with Starship, even though he really doesn't want them to. He writes some more songs for
- It turns out that Lea has been a Starkid fan since Little White Lie but never told Darren. She's always been secretly jealous and was, in a way, out for revenge on the Starkids.
- Jaime is promoted to MegaGirl, causing a rift between her and Meredith.
