After Piccolo left Gohan in the desert wasteland alone, Gohan began to explore a little playing with small lizards and bugs, copying their walks. Suddenly, he heard loud thundering footsteps echoing behind him. Gohan froze and slowly his head around. He let out a meek squeak, trying to scream but his voice got caught in his throat. His eyes widened and mouth dropped open in fear to see a giant t-rex leering down at him for its next meal. Gohan ran as he was chased by the dinosaur, trying to eat him. Just before the boy ended up in the creature's snapping maws, Gohan unleashed his hidden power and quickly teleported when the dinosaur chomped down. Gohan slowly opened his eyes and looked around, hearing the dinosaur roaring. They widened as he saw that he was on top of a tall plateau of a mountain. Gohan slowly crawled over to the edge and looked down, seeing the dinosaur walking away as it was searching for him. Gohan sighed in relief before he realized something.
How was he going to get down!?
Gohan began to tear up, getting more scared and started bawling very loudly. "Mommy! Daddy! Get me down from here!"
"Gohan?" Gohan stopped and saw Ocarin floating in the air, looking down at him. He let out a startled yelp before knowing who Ocarin was.
"I know you! You were fighting with my daddy!" He shouted, happy to see another person.
"Yes, I was. You're Goku's kid, right?" Ocarin asked him.
"Can you help me get down? I'm stuck!" Gohan called out to her.
"You got yourself up there. You can get yourself down. Why not just climb down?" Gohan teared up. He looked over the edge, starting to climb over it. The edge started to give away and Gohan stopped and quickly scrambled away, backing up to where he was. "It's too high! I'll fall!"
"Then fly down." Ocarin told him.
"I don't know how!" Gohan shouted. Ocarin sighed. Piccolo, why would you leave a kid out like this when he doesn't even know how to fly or understand Ki!?
"Okay, stop crying. You seem like a smart kid. I'll teach you a little. But the rest, you're going to have to figure it out for yourself, alright?" Gohan sniffed before wiping his eyes.
"Really? You'll help me!?" He smiled a little. Ocarin nodded and smiled. She flew to the edge, sitting in the air, and started to explain to Gohan about Ki and energy and how to control and manipulate it. However, while the two were talking, completely distracted, neither had sensed Piccolo who watching the entire time several feet above them, listening the entire time. He twitched, a little angry that Ocarin was there. But at least she didn't help the brat down.
It was the middle of the night; Gohan woke up feeling his stomach growling as he hadn't had anything to eat since yesterday. He had been practicing on managing his Ki but still hadn't learned how to control it yet. He tired himself out doing so. Gohan began to tear up.
"I want to get down! I'm hungry! I want to go home! Mommy! Daddy! Help me! I'm hungry! Why is this happening to me?" Suddenly, two apples fell from the sky, and one bounced off of Gohan's head as it fell on the ground. Gohan stopped crying and looked down, seeing the two apples in front of him. Food! His eyes widen with happiness, and he bent down picking one up and started eating it. As Gohan took a bite its sour taste filled his mouth, almost making Gohan spit it back out. The apple was too ripe. But food was food. As he finished, Gohan started to finish off the other apple. He looked around wondering where they had come from. There weren't any apple trees around. Piccolo watched as the boy ate, sitting crossed legged in the sky with his arms crossed.
"Spoiled little brat. This is the last time I'm helping you. From now on, you're on your own." He grumbled. Then was a strong sense of energy that appeared right beside him. He opened on of his eyes, seeing Ocarin leaning her head in front of him.
"Hey, Piccolo. What are you doing here? I thought that you were going to leave the kid alone."
"Butt out. It's none of your business." Piccolo told her. Ocarin stared at him for a moment before turning back over to Gohan, seeing him finishing his apple. She smiled, looking back to Piccolo.
Gohan dropped the apple core on the ground when he saw his shadow in front of him. He looked around confused. "Wait a minute, why is it still bright out? The sun's not out." His eyes laid upon the full moon, shining above him in the sky. Gohan's eyes widen in amazement, never seeing the moon before. "It's the moon! It's so big and round! It must be a full moon! I've never seen it before-!" Suddenly, Gohan gasped. He couldn't move his body. He couldn't take his eyes off the moon. His heart began to beat faster like a drum. Ocarin frowned, seeing that Gohan was acting very strange.
"Something's happening." She murmured. Piccolo opened his eyes, looking down at Gohan. Piccolo and Ocarin's eyes widen as the saw Gohan slowly transforming, getting more and more enormous. His clothes were completely destroyed as he got bigger.
"What's going on?" Piccolo exclaimed. Gohan had morphed into a giant great ape. The great ape let out a loud roar, creating a solar beam, crashing into some of the mountains and destroying them. "What?! No way!"
"That's a big problem!" Ocarin shouted. Gohan took a step and began to tumble down the plateau landing on the ground on his feet. He started to go on a wild rampage blasting and smashing the mountains with his fists, demolishing them. Piccolo and Ocarin both dodged the incoming energy blasts when the great ape fired them from his mouth.
"What's going on!? He's got extraordinary destructive power! At this rate the Earth will be destroyed before the Saiyans even get here!" Piccolo shouted. Ocarin flew in front of Gohan, trying to get his attention.
"Gohan! You have to stop!" She cried out. Gohan didn't listen to her, going completely out of control. He swatted at Ocarin trying to bat her away from him then he reached out to grab her. Ocarin quickly teleported before she was caught appearing next to Piccolo. "He's not listening!"
"He's a mindless monster! How is this possible? We got to change him back!" Piccolo spoke. His eyes widen and he turned to the full moon. "They need the moon!" Piccolo released his special beam cannon and fired it at the moon, destroying it. Gohan immediately stopped his rampage and slowly began to shift back, returning to normal. He fell on his face on the ground, completely naked. Piccolo and Ocarin landed on the ground, looking down at him. Ocarin turned back to the empty sky where the moon once stood.
"You do know that the moon controls the ocean, right?" She asked Piccolo, concerned.
"We'll wish it back once the Saiyan situation is finished." He told her. Piccolo frowned down at Gohan, his body going tense, gritting his teeth. "To transform into that, it must be his Saiyan blood. I get the feeling that I've discovered the secret to him and Goku's strength. Blowing up the moon was the right thing to do."
"Yeah, we don't need more of those giant apes running around." Ocarin nodded in agreement.
"To think of those other Saiyans turning into monsters like that. He said something about their tails, it appears that both the tails and the full moon is required for the transformation to happen. I'll get rid of it, so he won't transform." Piccolo pulled off Gohan's tail, removing it.
"Now, I'll guess he'll need some new clothes and a sword will help. Now you can't say that I've never gave you anything, kid." Piccolo manifested some clothes on Gohan, now wearing an orange gi like Goku's and boots and a sword appeared next to him on the ground. Piccolo smirked. "The clothes are like your dad's, but the symbol shows that you're from my clan. I've already done enough for you. I don't have time to babysit you anymore. I have my own training to do. But if you can survive for six months on your own, you'll see me again. And that's when you'll learn the art of fighting the hard way."
"I guess, I'll be going. I've got some training to do on my own as well." Ocarin told Piccolo before smirking. "See you in six months. Be ready because I'm not going to go easy on you." Piccolo frowned making a scowl.
"Good. Maybe, I'll finally have some peace and quiet." He spoke. Ocarin stared at him then she began to walk over to him. Piccolo watched her wondering what she was going to do. Ocarin reached out brushing her hand underneath Piccolo's chin and started to lean in closer. Piccolo's eyes widen and he froze. He wanted to push her away from him, but he couldn't bring himself to move his arms. He didn't want to. Piccolo felt his heart slowly starting to beat faster. It was the same foreign feeling he felt before when he first saw her. He had never felt it before for anyone. It didn't feel normal. Why does she make him feel this way? What is she doing?! It looks like she was going to kiss him. Piccolo could feel her lips almost touching his then she pulled back. Ocarin chuckled and quickly pulled Piccolo's turban down in his eyes.
Piccolo made a surprise yell before he pulled it back on his head. When he did, Ocarin had disappeared. She was nowhere around. Piccolo glanced around before looking down at Gohan, who was still sleeping, one last time then he flew off to get started on his training.
