We're Wizards, Not Warriors: What If

Volume 7:

Chapter 25: Pregananant?!

Back at the Rebel base….

Padme was in her and Eda's rooms.

She felt a little queasy.

She wished to know why.

Padme then quickly ran to the bathroom.

She emptied her lunch into the toilet.

"Oh crap baskets", Padme groaned.

Someone knocked on the door.

Eda asked, "Honey, are you okay?"

Padme hurling was her answer.

Eda quickly walked in.

She asked, "did that Mon Calamari food give you indigestion?"

"Probably", Padme groaned.

Eda said, "let me perform a spell to check your condition."

Eda formed a yellow spell circle.

She moved her hand over Padme.

Padme groaned as she held her stomach.

That's when Eda went wide-eyed.

Padme groaned, "so what's wrong? Why am I sick?"

Eda said in shock, "you're pregnant."

Padme went wide-eyed.

She looked down at her stomach in shock.

She was carrying Eda's child!?

She whispered, "we're gonna have a baby."

Eda quickly picked up her wife.

She smiled from ear to ear.

"This is the happiest day of my life", Eda said.

Eda hugged Padme close.

Padme smiled tearfully as she hugged her wife back.

She was having another baby! One she could properly raise!

That filled Padme's heart with so much joy.

She and Eda were gonna have a baby.

"Wait till Luke and Sam hear they are going to have a new sibling", Eda said.

Padme nodded with a big smile.

She couldn't wait to see her son's reactions.

….

A few minutes later….

Sam and Luke shouted in shock, "SAY WHAT!?"

Padme said, "you're gonna have a baby brother or sister."

Sam and Luke hugged their mother.

Padme smiled as she hugged her boys.

"This is so exciting", Sam said.

Luke said, "we're so happy for you, mom."

Padme smiled.

She said, "thank you sweety."

"We promise to protect our baby sister or brother from any danger", Sam said.

Padme said, "that means the world to me, sweety."

Sam smiled as he kept hugging his mother.

Padme smiled as well.

"Looks like you'll have to stay in the base until then for your own safety mother", Luke said.

Padme nodded. She didn't want the Empire to get the baby.

She especially didn't want Darth Vader to find out.

Force knows what he'd do.

Sam and Luke through the Force sensed their Mother's thoughts.

They wanted to make her feel better.

They hugged their mother.

"We won't let Vader ever come near you Mother, we promise to protect you and the baby", Luke said.

Padme cried tears of joy.

"Don't cry mom", Sam said softly.

Luke said, "it'll be okay."

Padme hugged her two sons close to her.

She was so thankful to have them there.

Padme still wished she could tell Leia the truth.

She knew Leia would be ecstatic to be a big sister!

But Sam told his mother that it still wasn't time for Leia to know the truth. So reluctantly, she kept quiet.

But she couldn't wait for her baby to be born.

She'd be able to see this baby grow up.

….

We then see Sam with One-One as they walk around the base.

Sam said, "it was a good idea to ask the battle droids to help work on the base here on Hoth. They've managed to make it a much more liveable area."

"I agree Master Sam", One-One said as he saw the battle droids helping around the base.

Sam said, "Satine's been trying to give them all nicknames. Rusty, Bolts, Squeaky, Scraps, heh."

"A creative mind your little sister has", One-One said.

Sam chuckled.

KeeKee then ran up to Sam.

Sam asked, "what is it, KeeKee?"

KeeKee jumped towards Sam and began to lick his face.

Sam chuckled lightly.

"Aww, that's my cat", Sam said.

One-One chuckled as well.

KeeKee purred in joy.

Sam set KeeKee back down.

KeeKee snuggled against Sam's leg.

Sam smiled down at her.

….

Sam is then seen in his bedroom.

He was currently meditating.

Revan was meditating with him.

They both whispered, "I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me."

Sam cleared his mind as he kept meditating.

His thoughts were clear.

After a while the two stopped meditating.

They opened their eyes and looked at each other.

"Meditating does help calm the mind down", Sam said.

Revan nodded in agreement.

Sam hugged Revan.

Revan happily hugged back.

"Uncle Revan…. I keep having these thoughts on changing things once the Jedi Order and the Republic is restored", Sam said.

Revan asked, "like what?"

"I believe that the Jedi code needs to change", Sam said.

Revan said, "I'm in agreement."

"The Jedi code caused many conflicts within the order…. And I want to make sure the new Jedi Order allows attachments", Sam said

Revan said, "seems reasonable. It never made sense to me. How can we protect people without showing emotion or forming bonds?"

"I agree, that's why the code needs to change, denying our emotions…. Can only cause others pain", Sam said.

Revan nodded and said, "you'll make a great Jedi master one day."

Sam smiled at Revan.

Revan smiled back.

Sam hugged Revan again.

Revan smiled as he hugged Sam close.

"I promise that even after the war is over…. I'll continue to be by your side Sam", Revan said.

Sam smiled and said, "that's all I could ever want."

Revan pats Sam's head.

Sam smiled from ear to ear.

….

Meanwhile on Mustafar….

Vader sat in his office.

It's all he mostly did in his spare time.

Especially with everything that had happened recently.

Which regarded his family.

He had realized he was completely alone.

His family hated him and wanted nothing to do with him.

He had…. Nothing.

Tears fell down Vader's face.

He couldn't bear this pain.

Joining the Dark side to help save Padme was…. For nothing.

If he hadn't helped Palpatine, all he would've lost was…. His place among the Jedi.

But he would have had his family with him.

His wife and kids….

He imagined the scenario in his head…. Where he was a loving father and husband.

He was able to raise his sons after the war ended. In a world without Palpatine.

He could imagine Sam and Luke as kids playing with their father.

So many amazing memories that could've happened.

If he just hadn't done that one selfish act.

But now he was paying the price for his actions.

And it filled him with more pain.

He wished he could fix his mistakes.

But how could he fix his mistakes? His family hated him and wanted nothing to do with him.

And he couldn't do much with the Emperor in power.

Vader sighed sadly.

How could he ever fix everything?

He just wanted to find the answer.

It's at times like this he wished Qui Gon or his mother were here to give him advice….

He really needed it.

Vader sighed as he looked at his mask on the table.

Vader said to himself, "what can I do?"

Vader thought he heard a voice whisper, "keep the children safe…."

Vader looked around for the voice. But he was the only person in the room.

Vader sighed.

But what the voice said did get to him.

He would keep his children safe.

Even if they hated him.

Vader then heard knocking on the door.

He stood up and walked towards the door.

Vader opened the door, but there was no one there.

He looked down and saw a Data card.

He bent down and picked it up.

He saw a small note attached to it.

"This data card contains something…. That will help you smile."

Vader plugged it into the nearby holo projector.

Then what was shown on the Holoprojector nearly made Vader's heart stop.

It was Sam…. But when he was a baby.

These were videos of Sam's childhood.

Vader reached his hand out to the image of his youngest son.

He wished he'd been there for him.

He sat in his chair as he watched the videos of Sam's childhood.

There was a lot to see.

From when Sam said his first word, his first steps.

He'd missed so much.

He froze whenever Obi Wan appeared in the videos…. He regretted killing his friend…. His mentor…. His brother….

He had been able to give Sam a life…. One he couldn't give him.

Vader said, "if I could go back and let Obi Wan strike me down…. I'd do it."

Vader placed his hand on where his heart was.

He said, "if I ever have a chance to make things right…. To save my sons…. I will do it while my heart still beats."

Vader meant every single word he said.

He was determined to make amends….

….

Back at the Rebel Base….

Revan felt through the force, Vader's words.

He gave a hopeful look…. The data card he made had made its gambit.

"The light is still in Vader…. There is hope", Revan whispered.

Revan hoped this could fix everything.

For not only the Skywalker family…. But for the galaxy as a whole.

There was indeed a lot to fix….

….

We then see Sam trying on new outfits his mom made for him.

One was a blue dress with golden accents.

"I love it mom. The colors make this outfit shine", Sam said.

Padme said, "thank you."

Sam then tried on the rest of the outfits.

A small gray dress, a yellow long sleeved sun dress, a sleek green dress with a slit on the side.

Sam asked, "Mom…. Is it true that you were once the queen of Naboo?"

Padme said, "indeed I was. I stepped down in order to serve as a Senator."

Sam asked, "Mom…. Did you ever feel scared? When you had huge responsibilities in your hands?"

Padme said, "of course I did. But I always had the people I cared about to help keep me on track. And a drive to help people."

Sam smiled at his mother.

Padme smiled back.

Sam sat next to his mother.

"I can't wait to meet my baby brother or sister", Sam said.

Padme chuckled as she rubbed her stomach.

Sam hugged his mother.

Padme happily hugged back.

Sam smiled in his mother's embrace.

She was so comforting.

….

We then see Sam writing in his journal.

He was focused on whatever he was writing.

"Note…. I think these ideas I have for how the Jedi order should be would help the galaxy even more", Sam whispered.

These ideas included;

Allow attachments.

Let Padawans see their families.

Actually teach the Jedi about the dark side.

Sam smiled softly at these ideas.

He hoped they would work.

"The Jedi nor the New Republic can't fail the Galaxy again", Sam said.

That was the whole reason he was writing the list.

He had been told by his mother and Mama Soka about how both the Republic and Jedi order failed the galaxy.

Namely due to arrogance and corruption.

Sam vowed that those mistakes would not be repeated.

A vow he intended to honor.

Sam then closed his journal.

He gave a small smile as he glanced at it.

He then placed it inside his cabinet.

Sam gave a small yawn.

He then heads to his bed.

He was quite tired.

Sam laid down on his bed.

He yawned and slowly began to doze off.

As Sam slept…. A familiar force ghost was watching him….

It was Obi Wan, still watching over his son.

Obi Wan places his hand on Sam's head.

He smiled and said, "good night, my boy."

Sam smiled in his sleep. Obi Wan then vanished. Sam kept smiling in his sleep. He was having a peaceful sleep.
