-Chapter I-

It had been another long day for Dr. Director; reading reports; attending meetings; conducting inspections and official functions. Entering her office and slipping into her chair, she undone the top button of her uniform and breathed out a sigh of exhaustion. Switching on her computer, she waited for it to boot up and logged into the secure network.

There were a few more reports of high level criminal activity she had to look at; such as the rapidly growing organization known as WEE, or Worldwide Evil Empire, lead by an individual going by the name of Gemini. Investigation teams worked round the clock to uncover Gemini's identity with no success so far, yet based of the fact that Gemini's leadership and tactics had been able to circumvent GJ operations, it made one thing frightfully clear; Gemini was in some way connected to Global Justice.

Still, that had to wait as she examined a separate series of reports that were part of another investigation; the disappearance of Shego.

For over three months, personally selected agents and volunteers had no luck in locating her. She had to keep in mind that, like her brothers, Shego received training comparable to that of a high rank GJ agent, not to mention that she also was taught by her parents in survival tactics and self defense at a young age. It wasn't going to be easy locating someone who knew how to stay off the grid.

Quickly going over the reports, she hoped there was some good news for her. Once again she was met with disappointment.

"Damn," she whispered, tiredly leaning forward and resting her face in the palm of her hands.

Few agents who knew Team Go had lost hope of ever finding her, even Director herself had almost given up in the face of such odds. But there was one thing that kept her going.

Glancing at the photo frames on her desk, there was one that she treasured.

It was taken on her first official day as a junior field agent, when she was 19 years old; Director herself standing next to her brother, Sheldon, who was wearing a similar uniform. Standing right behind them was their late father, Commander Johnathan Director, a proud smile on his face with his hands on their shoulders.

On either side of them were the Go's; Thomas, 34 at the time, who was a senior agent and survival instructor standing next to Sheldon; Hezir, 33 at the time, stood next Elizabeth wearing standard issue GJ gym uniform, which she wore when she was the academy combat fitness instructor.

"I'll find her, I promise."

Closing the files, Director hoped a break in the case will come soon.

The Greyhound was cruising along the highway, a few minutes away from its final destination. Seated at the rear of the bus, the former heroine know as Shego gazed tiredly out her side window, watching the Colorado scenery pass by with a blur.

The raspy vocals of Kurt Cobain were playing through the headphones, the weary teen listening to the Walkman she got for her 13th birthday; one of the few possessions she took with her. Shego absentmindedly tapped her hand on her leg to 'Come as you are', while her other hand remained in the pocket of her weather-stained hooded sweater; her fingers clasped round the last few dollars and cents left in her name.

She had lost count of the days she fled from her home; her past; her life; her very name.

Any identification for her real civilian identity was destroyed. She was completely off the grid. The name she used now was 'Jane'.

Staring back at her in the glass was her ghostly reflection; a shadow of her former self.

Her once flowing raven hair was cut short, hanging to her shoulders for easier manageability.

Emerald eyes shadowed with dark bags from many a restless night.

Her once athletic body shown signs of malnutrition, having lost a few pounds over the months. Although she appeared physically fragile, her meta-human physiology still gave her enhanced physical strength and endurance.

Her clothes had shown signs of wear and tear. She patched them up as best she could, yet a few noticeable holes remained.

All in all, she looked exactly like she felt.

Feeling her chest heave, Shego coughed dryly into her sleeve.

Circumstances of her health required her to spend money for travel, so she spent her savings for a cheap bus ticket to the furthest possible destination. A town called Middleton.

She just had to have the worst luck in catching someones stupid cold, which her weakened immune system had been fighting for the past couple of days. She thought about that saying when people were sick, something about 'feed a cold, starve a fever'. Easier said than done without a solid roof over your head.

She might be able to eat something decent as she still had a couple of coupons saved.

Reaching into a grocery bag near her feet, the weary teen pulled out a bottle of water and a bottle of Tylenol. Popping out a couple of pills and swallowing them, she closed her eyes as she waited for it to kick in. God, her body ached all over but it was the skull pounding headache which was the worst. She barely been able to get a decent nights sleep.

It wasn't an easy life on the streets but, in combination of her lifetime of training and picking up a few things from other vagrants, she learned enough to survive and live in some form of comfort. The small tent she used on family camping trips protected her from the elements, though it was preferable to sleep in a warm building. Each day she tried earning a few dollars by taking legit cash-in-hand work; sweeping; cleaning; handing out flyers. Any work that seemed suspicious she avoided like the plague. The money made was carefully managed on food, public laundromats and personal hygiene. On days she couldn't afford to buy food, she resorted soup kitchens or dumpster diving behind grocery stores; despite the expiry of display dates, most food was still good to eat.

Travelling from town to town; city to city; state to state, Shego avoided staying too long in one place. Most of the time she walked or hopped on a open freight car to ride the rails.

She was always on the move. Always running.

But no matter how far she ran, she could never escape the nightmares that haunted her.

Closing her eyes, Shego turned the Walkman volume to its highest. She lost herself into the music, and the feelings of grief, guilt and shame were pushed away for the time being.

The Greyhound arrived at the bus station twenty minutes later, the passengers disembarking and waiting for the driver to take their luggage from the hold.

Grabbing the large weather-stained backpack from the pile, Shego stepped aside to examine the town brochure; studying it yet again to get a better lay of the land. There were a few fast food joints not far from her current position, Shego rummaging through one of the pockets of her backpack and pulling out a Bueno Nacho coupon.

According to the map, she was a few blocks away from one; just a ten minute walk.

The ring of the school bell herald the end of another school day for Middleton Elementary. Outside waited the school bus that would drop students home, as well as the cars of parents that came to pick their children up. Dr. Ann Possible had arrived a few minutes before the bell, leaning idly against the driver side door of her sedan with her arms crossed over her chest. She acknowledge other parents she was acquainted with a casual wave.

Among the other parents she noticed Mr. and Mrs. Stoppable, the parents of her daughter's closest friend. Beckoning them over, the Stoppable's made their way to her.

"Hi Ann. How was your day?" Mrs. Stoppable said.

"Hi Deb. Busy, as usual," Ann replied, with a gentle smile. She turned her attention to Mr. Stoppable, the tired bags under his eyes evidence of restless nights. "Haven't seen you for a week, Gene. When did you get back?"

"Just got back before twelve," Gene said, stifling a yawn. "I'm glad that Smarty Mart account is over and done with."

"Deb mentioned that. So what exactly were they asking you to do?"

"Risk assessment for the financial stability of merchandise for the next business year. I had to work alongside 25 other Actuaries due to the complexity of the task. The task I was given was to assess their plan to expand their pet department, such as affordable animals; tailored insurance; toys and accessories; brand of pet food; sustainability... the list goes on pretty much. I've had to work late nights triple checking the math. When we presented our data at the meeting, Mr. Smarty seemed very pleased. Funny thing, but according to the data, naked mole rats are going to be a big hit."

"Really, naked mole rats?" Ann said, surprised. "Seems an odd choice for a pet."

"I know, right? I thought I made a mistake but, like I said, the math checks out."

"Ronald will be happy to hear that. I know he's been wanting a pet of his own for some time. Ah, speak of the devil."

Coming out of the school with the other children, she saw her daughter Kim Possible walk up to them alongside her close friend, Ron Stoppable; the two of them talking excitedly. When Ron saw his father, he excitedly ran up and hugged him.

"Dad! You're back!" he said. "I missed you!"

"Miss you too, son."

While Ron spoke to his parents, Ann smiled as she hugged her daughter.

"Hi mom," Kim said.

"Hey Kimmie, had a nice day at school?"

"Sure did! The teacher was pairing us for a joint science project; Ron's my partner!"

"That's nice," Ann said. "So, what kind of science project do you two have planned?"

"We haven't decided yet but we'll come up with something."

"We could brainstorm ideas KP, but we might need brain food for that," Ron said, not-so subtly dropping a hint. "Say, like, Bueno Nacho?"

"Oh, I don't know about that," his mother said. "Your dad had a long flight."

"Actually, I don't mind Bueno Nacho," said Gene, playfully ruffling his son's hair. "Besides, I think this calls for a celebration."

Smiling at the cheerful 'Booyah' from Ron, they got ready to go. Kim asked her mother if she could ride with Ron, which Mrs. Stoppable had no problem with. Nodding her approval, Dr. Possible watched Kim join Ron in the backseats of the Stoppable's sedan. Ann got in her car, briefly glancing in the rear-view mirror at the sleeping forms of Tim & Jim in their baby seats, before following the other car.

Shego waited in line while still deciding on her order; a coupon for 60% of any meal in her hand. She knew she still had to be frugal with her money despite the discount, but the hunger pain convinced her to go big.

Besides, she needed plenty of food to recover her strength.

When she made it to the front of the queue, she was beckoned over by a attractive blonde girl around her age, likely a part-time high school student. The name tag on her uniform read 'Vivian'.

"Welcome to Bueno Nacho. May I take your order?"

"Yeah, I'll have to the Deluxe Bueno Burrito Meal, Grande size, with side beans and orange soda," Shego pushed the coupon forward.

Vivian picked it up, examining it with an apologetic look.

"Uh, this expired three days ago. Sorry."

"Wait, what? Ugh, I thought it was still in date."

Her stomach rumbled as Shego fished into her pockets for any money she may have forgotten about, only to come up short. "Oh, forget it," she muttered, defeated.

She was about to turn away when Vivian called out. "Hey, wait a sec!"

Her eyes briefly studied Shego's disheveled appearance before she looked down at the coupon, then glanced over to see if her manager was looking. He was currently occupied on the phone. Returning her attention to Shego, she gave a friendly conspiratorial wink.

"My mistake, guess it's still valid," she said, ringing up the discounted meal. "That'll be $4.40."

Shego smiled gratefully as she handed over the money, with a whispered "Thanks."

"No problem. Take a seat, I'll bring it over to you when it's ready. Okay, next please!"

Sitting down at a free table, Shego decided to double check the coupons in her possession. It wasn't likely that another cashier might show her the same kindness in future. Carefully reading the finely printed dates, she sighed when she saw that out of the seven coupons she had, only three were still usable within a seven day period.

Entering the restaurant, the Possible's and the Stoppable's grabbed a free window side booth that Ron typically favored. Ann set up the baby seats for Tim & Jim, while Ron and his mother went up to place their orders. When they came back, the Stoppable's kept an eye on the twins while Ann went up with Kim.

After a short wait, the waitress placed Shego's order at her table. She savored the aroma before digging in, enjoying the rare comforts of a filling meal. A few minutes later the table next to her had their orders placed down, the children excitedly digging in while their parents continued a conversation from earlier.

Kim noticed that Ron was being extra creative with his Grande Size Taco meal, with Nacho side order.

"Ron, what are you doing?"

"Doing a little culinary science, KP," Ron said, as he put the finishing touch. "Behold, a fusion of the Taco and the Nacho! I think I'll call it... the Naco! Patent pending."

Kim couldn't help but giggle as Ron took a big crunchy bite, the boy humming with satisfaction. "Mmm... bon-diggity good!"

Dr. Possible noticed from the corner of her eye that Kim was occasionally looking at the table next to them, her eyes curiously looking at the shabbily dressed woman. Reaching out to tap Kim on the arm, Ann leaned in close to whisper.

"It's not polite to stare, Kim," she gently admonished.

Kim shrank a little, lowering her eyes. "Sorry."

Without even hesitating, Ann reached into her pocket and pulled out a ten dollar bill. Leaning over, Ann gently tapped Shego on the shoulder to get her attention.

"Sorry to bother you," Ann said, handing her the money. "Here, for you."

Taken aback, Shego was speechless at first, before gaining her composure and taking the money with a grateful smile. "Thanks. You didn't have to."

"I know. You take care."

Her spirits improved, Shego returned to her meal. It looked like her fortunes were finally starting to turn.

Little did they know that trouble was about to ensue, as a black van pulled up outside the restaurant doors. Stepping out from the front seat were a man and a woman, both bearing a striking resemblance to each other. They wore beige trench coats, hiding their costumes. Jumping out from the back doors were three muscular men, likely hired goons; all of them wearing black ski masks, sweaters, jogging pants and sneakers.

"You sure about this, Jurgen?" the woman sighed, with a Scandinavian accent.

"I know this is bottom of ladder, Magda, but consider it a trial run before we hit the bank. Besides, we got those fancy custom gadgets from that Hench Co. place, Ja? No longer will we have a repeat like we did a year ago. We will prove we are not a joke to laugh at!"

"Ja, that was humiliating. Hopefully this will improve our standing in the villain community."

Stepping inside with the henchmen, the duo nodded to each other before casting aside their coats. On their slim athletic bodies were silver and red spandex costumes, glittered to give them a sparkling look. A few patrons looked at the smiling faces of the duo; fair skin; light blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Jurgen's hair was tied in a long ponytail, while Magda had her hair tied in pigtails. Attached at the hips were what appeared to be utility belts with jump ropes attached to them.

Kim and Ron exchanged confused looks before staring at the strangers.

"Mom, is the circus in town or something?"

"What do you mean, sweetie?" Dr. Possible asked, turning her head to see what was going on. "What on earth are they up to?"

Shego noticed the strangeness in the atmosphere, glancing over her shoulder while she took a sip from her soda. She spat it out as she gasped in surprise, quickly turning around and hunching over, making sure the hood of her sweater was pulled over to obscure her face. Shielding her face with her hand, she cringed at the situation she found herself in.

'You gotta be kidding me! Not them!'

She found herself reliving a memory back in the days of her Team Go past, which occurred just over a year ago when she was fourteen. There was a confrontation at the Go City National Bank, where fraternal twins caused a huge disturbance and Team Go were called in to stop them.

It turned out they were competitors from the Netherlands in the annual International Jump Rope Championships, having won second place despite the impressive routine they put on. They also turned out to be pretty sore losers and tied up the winners before stealing their trophy. When security tried to stop them, they were incapacitated in the same manner.

But they couldn't just leave it at that. They had to get revenge on the judges for their second place score; leaving them tied up in a storage closet after robbing them. After that, they developed a 'liking' for villainy. So, they embarked on the dumbest and ill conceived crime spree in the history of Go City.

They had to admit it was a big waste of their time and Shego had better things to do than to drag it out. In less than five seconds she knocked them out with a concussive energy blast, breaking their personal record for Quickest Villain Take-down.

She and her brothers watched as the GCPD carried the duo out of the bank, tied up tight with the very jump ropes they used for the spree.

"Seriously? This is what we were called out for?" Shego sighed, rolling her eyes. "Come on, even the Wego's could've handled them!"

"Yeah, and we're not even the best at fighting," one of the twins said.

"Unless you count dog-piling as a skill," the other joked.

"Truly not a 'Go Team Go' moment for us," Mego admitted.

Hego had to agree with them. "I admit it was pretty anti-climatic, but we still have a responsibility to use our powers to help those in need. Especially when it comes to super threats."

Shego couldn't help but snort with derision. "Puh-lease, you call that a super threat? They don't have powers, Heegs! They just happen to be really, really good at jump rope, which by the way, is probably the lamest of lame choices for a villain! I mean, even their team name was stupid and corny! Who the heck in their right mind even calls themselves..."

"Ugh, Double Dutch," Shego groaned to herself, pinching the bridge of her nose.

Jurgen and Magda van der Skipp. It hadn't been long enough.

Glancing round the dining area, Shego was relieved to see two police officers who were grabbing something eat; one of them quickly calling for back-up on his radio. As long as they don't get close enough to recognize her, she'll be fine.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Jurgen said, smiling as he addressed the crowd. "We are Double Dutch and we will be relieving you of your valuables, so please don't try and cause any trouble for us. You will regret it, Ja?"

The other officer stood up, ready to draw his weapon.

"Alright you two, jokes over. How about we have a quiet chat about this down at the station, huh?"

Jurgen and Magda grinned as they took out the modified jump ropes with only one handle; the rope ends tied as a lasso. Twirling it in the air, they quickly threw the hoops over the officers and pulled tight. Before they could do anything, the duo pressed a switch on the handles. Everyone gasped in horror as the officer's were tasered by the conductive rope, dropping to the floor unconscious.

'Taser Jump Ropes? That's new,' Shego thought.

"It is a warning for anyone wanting to play hero, Ja?" Jurgen said, with a chuckle before addressing the henchmen. "Criss-Cross! Side Swing! Grab whatever valuables the customers have! Double Under, you get the cash from the registers! Magda and I will watch out for trouble."

Jurgen and Magda retracted the ropes from the unconscious officers and began twirling them in the air, watching the terrified patrons like a pair of hawks.

'Okay, so they upped their game this time. The cops might have trouble dealing with this.'

Hego's words once again haunted her.

"... but we still have a responsibility to use our powers to help others in need."

Yeah, just blast them with her comet powers. If it was for an absolute last resort then she would, except that she couldn't if she wanted to. She lost the ability to summon her glow a month into being homeless; if it was due to psychological trauma or the fact she hadn't been eating properly, she didn't know. All she knew was that her handicap would make it difficult.

The only option she had was to fight them hand-to-hand, but she was not in peak physical condition and, considering the numbers against her, she wasn't even sure if she could win. However, the thing she had to be careful of was those Taser Jump Ropes. Electricity was a major weakness to her powers.

As much as she hated for it to happen, she had to keep a low profile and allow them to rob the place. Glancing at the money the kindly doctor gave her, she sighed with frustration.

'Easy come, easy go.'

While the henchmen went around collecting everything, Kim and Ron exchanged worried looks. Dr. Possible, despite feeling scared, gave the children a reassuring smile.

"Just keep calm, kids. It's going to be okay."

She froze when one of the henchmen made his approach, stopping right next to them with a large sack in hand; already filled with customer's belongings. He addressed Shego.

"Hand over whatever you got," he growled.

Silently fuming with humiliation, Shego dumped all her money into the sack. The henchman gave her a look of disbelief.

"What is this? You holding out on me?"

"That is everything I have," Shego said, her voice low and collective. "Just take it and go."

The henchman spied her bag by her feet, reaching down to take it. Shego quickly grabbed the handle at the top, holding onto it desperately as the henchman tried to tug it from her grasp.

"Let go of it, princess."

She flinched, her anger steadily rising in response to that word; Princess. Although that goon didn't realize this, but it was a word that her brother's used to playfully tease her with when she was little. They didn't do it so much after she studied martial arts and the night they got their comet powers, but the P-Word was still a trigger for her explosive temper.

Right now, the man was walking on thin ice.

"You have my money, but this is everything I have," Shego said, trying to keep her voice calm. "J-Just leave the bag, okay? It won't be of any worth to you. And don't call me princess."

"I said, let go of the bag... princess."

She was reaching boiling point. Just barely was she maintaining control, but even she had her limits and she being patient enough with the guy. Slowly inhaling through her nose, she spoke through clenched teeth.

"You really want to do this?" her tone low and dangerous. "Let go... of my bag, and don't... call... me... princess." She spat the last word with venom.

'Please, please, please... don't be as dumb as you look.'

He was.

Bending down close to her face, his taunting smile was inches from her own.

"And just what are you going to do about it? Princess?"

"I... said..." She struck with a powerful punch to the stomach, winding him. "DON'T!" Followed by a double chop with both hands to the ears. "CALL!" A powerful uppercut to the jaw, jerking his head back. "ME!" Finishing with a powerful roundhouse kick, sending him flying through the glass window behind him. He was kissing pavement in just under a few seconds. "PRINCESS!"

'Well, just like him, diplomacy has gone out the window.'

"SIDE SWING!" Jurgen cried out in shock, pointing at Shego. "CRISS CROSS! DOUBLE UNDER! STOP HER!"

Time seemed to slow as her instincts and training kicked into overdrive; dozens of scenario's playing through her mind. It took her a few seconds to formulate a strategy.

Deal with the henchmen first. Save Double Dutch for last.

Grabbing the food tray on her table, Shego aimed and threw it toward Double Under, the tray spinning like a Frisbee as it hurtled toward its target, striking the man hard between the eyes and causing him to cry out in pain, leaving him briefly stunned. Criss Cross was charging toward her, bellowing in blind rage while Jurgen and Magda twirled their lassos.

Spying a few trays on the table near her, she grabbed two of them while acknowledging the stunned families in the booth.

"Sorry! Gotta borrow these!"

Just as Criss Cross approached, she planted a foot on the table and launched herself into a back flip, vaulting over the henchman with a mid air twist. During her rotation, she threw the trays toward the Taser Lassos, entangling them in the process and buying her precious time. Landing in a crouched position behind Criss Cross, she quickly spun round with a leg sweep that sent her opponent crashing to the floor, finishing him with a knockout blow from her elbow.

Double Under had just started to recover, rubbing his eyes to clear his vision. He was still close to cash registers; perfect for a special take down move. Racing toward him, Shego planted her foot on the counter and launched herself into a side spin, building momentum with enough rotation before striking with a powerful kick to the jaw, sending Double Under flying to the side in a unconscious heap. Landing with a slight stagger, she leapt into the air again as she raced toward Double Dutch, the duo just untangling their Taser Lassos.

Planting her hands on a table, Shego vaulted herself into a handspring. As she landed onto another table, she was caught by surprise when Double Dutch threw the lassos, having judged her trajectory to ensnare her within the conductive ropes.

Tiny metallic barbs in the fibers pierced her flesh as the ropes tightened, Shego's eyes going wide as they hit the buttons. Unable to brace herself in time, she felt the powerful jolts course through her body. Her muscles convulsed as she jerked forwards, screaming in agony as she hit the floor face first. The pain subsided shortly after. Her vision blurred, and her ears rang as she slowly staggered to her feet. Blood flowed from her nose, staining her clothes with dark spots.

'Stupid! Clumsy! Slow!' Shego cursed her own stupidity. She underestimated their skills, and now she was paying the price.

"She's still standing!"

"Hit her again!" Jurgen ordered.

"GGRAAAAH!"

More pain exploded throughout her body, convulsing as every fiber of her being cried out for mercy. Black spots appeared before her eyes. She could hear her blood pumping in her ears. She collapsed to her knees, coughing violently as her lungs burned with exhaustion. Her last remaining reserves of strength were being sapped.

She couldn't last much longer as she struggled within the bonds, trying to break free.

"She's still conscious!"

"Enough of this! Third times the charm!"

What they didn't realize at the time, when they had their foe caught within their electrifying snare, two young children at were about to help in their own way. When Shego was hit by the first jolt, Kim gasped in horror at the sight of the woman screaming in agony.

"Someone has to help her!" Kim cried.

"Who can fight like she did?" Ron pointed out. "No one can help her!"

She winced again as Shego scream again, hit by the second powerful jolt. Her eyes scanning the room, Kim suddenly glanced down at the table and formulated a plan.

"Ron, remember what those fifth graders did at lunch to get detention?"

"Why bring that up at a time like... ohh!" Ron said, his eyes wide as he clued into her plan.

"I'll take the guy. You get the lady."

"Got it, KP!"

Dr. Possible gasped in horror as Kim and Ron stood up, their food in their hands.

"KIM! RON! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Winding their arms back, they threw with all their might. The food arching through the air...

SPLAT!

...and striking their targets right in the face.

"Blargh!" Jurgen cried out in surprise.

"Urgh! What is this stuff!" Magda screamed, infuriated beyond belief.

"It's called a Naco!" Ron yelled, crossing him arms. "Uh... patent pending!"

It was a momentary distraction, but one that Shego needed. Tensing her muscles and straining against the ropes, Shego snapped the bonds, freeing her arms and grabbing the frayed ends with her hands. Pulling back with all her might, she jerked the duo of Double Dutch toward her, leaning back as she did so when they came close enough to grab their costumes. She threw herself backwards toward the floor as she planted her feet into their stomachs, using the momentum to roll back and launch them toward the cash register counter with a push of her legs. As the two criminals flew through the air, crying out in horror, one of their Taser Lasso's came loose from their belt and landed near Shego.

They crashed into the side of the counter, a little dazed but still awake, groaning as they helped each other to their feet. Suddenly, they felt something thrown over them and pulling tightly, pinning each other tightly together face first, crying out as they felt conductive barbs pierce their skin. Turning their heads, the color drained from their faces in horror. The hood of Shego's sweater had fallen back, allowing them to finally recognize Shego, the teen glaring at them with cold fury, the Taser Lasso handle firmly in her grip.

"Should've skipped town."

Hitting the button, she watched with silent satisfaction as they cried out in pain, before keeling over and hitting the ground, knocked out for the count.

A brief silence was held in the restaurant, before every erupted into applause for their hero. Shego barely acknowledged them, groaning as she took a step forward and wincing at the pain in her ankle. She must've twisted it in the fight.

Dr. Possible left her table, quickly heading over to check on Shego. Waving her away, Shego gestured to the two police officers.

"Them... first," she said.

Using the tables to support her weight, she made her way over to where she had sat; her bag laid there untouched.

"Is everyone okay?" The manager called out. "Don't worry, cops are on their way here."

Shego didn't want to be around for that. Reaching her table, she glanced over at the families next to her, acknowledging the two children with a weary nod and a thumbs up.

"Thanks... for the... assist," Shego croaked.

"No big," Kim said, her eyes never leaving Shego. Ron could see the hero of Bueno Nacho was barely able to stand. "Are... Are you okay?"

Shego wiped the blood from her nose with her sleeve, giving the youngsters a reassuring nod.

"I'll be...," Shego coughed violently, pausing to catch her breath. "... fine."

"You don't look fine." Kim gasped, watching as the teen struggled to pick her bag up but collapsed to her knees, coughing more violently this time. "M-MOM! HELP!"

Dr. Possible had finished checking the officers, who were starting to come round. Quickly making her way over to Shego, she gently held the teen by her shoulders.

"Don't move. Help is on the way."

"No... No... h-help," Shego coughed, trying to pick up her bag again.

She had to get out of town, find somewhere to lay low and recover. All she had to do was just pick up her bag, yet it felt like it was packed will lead weights. Her body was sluggish in response. She coughed again, her lungs burning from fatigue.

Her stupid temper. She burned through her last reserves of strength, gave more than her current condition was able to. The black spots of her vision became larger, and darker. She was aware that the woman, a doctor from what she figured, was talking to her, but she couldn't make out what was being said. The world around sounded like it was underwater.

"I'm... fuh...fi-fine," Shego struggled to speak, her breathing heavy and fast. "I... I..."

The diner's gasped in horror as Shego collapsed, her hands weakly grasping the lapels of Dr. Possible's white coat. With her last bit of strength gone, she sagged into the doctor's arms.

The world went dark.

Author Response

Hi there all, SC90 here.

First of all, I want to thank CajunBear73, GOLDDRAGON34, HairyLimey, SKYx10, STL28, SelenRoseBlack, bex55, chaoscontrol7977, sat-ura-nep-plu-outers, vampireadore for reviewing, faving and following.

Sorry for the long wait but I was going over the plot details for this story, making changes but ensuring it would still have the impact of my original vision. I know it was a long time since I updated but I feel that I owe it to my readers that I put out the best quality that I can. You don't deserve to have something rushed and lazy.

I've also revised the surnames of Team Go's parents, changing it from Goff to Go.

Oh, and I been asked by Sharper the Writer if I would like to join the KP Fannies Committee, which I'm honored to even be asked. I'll be doing my best to give more back to this small little community on the web.
