Okay, hello everyone! Pillow101, here! This another Helltaker fanfic, I made about my OC, who will be revealed later on in the story. The story will be split into acts, for right now this arc is the Beginnings and Ends Arc. This act however is about an explanation of the angels, along with the story of Lucifer's fall from grace. This story will be like a novel, so the chapters will be long.
I won't write many or if any, author notes at the beginning of the chapter. I'll just post the chapter the second I get the time.
I hope this story peaks some people's interest. The Helltaker and his harem will be introduced later in the story, so when this arc is completed, you can skip this if you want as it's just my own head-cannon of the history of the Helltaker universe.
Another thing I want to say mentioning cannon, is that not everything will follow Helltaker's lore. Some things will changed, while others stay the same as this entire story is based on my own head-cannon with some facts based on either the game, comics, or Vanripper's streams.
With that long explanation finished, enjoy the story.
In the beginning, the universe that we know was formless and chaotic, a swirling maelstrom of energy and matter. God, who had existed before time and space, decided to create the universe in his image within seven days.
On the seventh day, God from this primordial abyss, created a realm called: Heaven. This divine realm was a place of harmony and radiant light, where the angels will reside.
The first angels ever created, Lucifer, Michael, and Gabriel emerged. All possessed black hair and blue eyes.
"My children, I have created you. I want you to lead a realm that I have created for you and others that will soon come to be." God said.
Michael and Gabriel nodded their heads, but Lucifer glared at God in refusal.
"Why must we help us lead this place you speak of, if you have enough power to create us?" Lucifer asked, her voice tinged with defiance.
"Why not do it yourself?"
"Because after I create the angels, I will rest and I need you to lead them." God replied.
Lucifer wanted to say something in response but instead closed her mouth and kept silent.
Lucifer's pride bristled at the idea, but after a moment of contemplation, she said, "I see... I understand, I suppose."
Lucifer then left and flew away to her sisters who were already at the gates of Heaven.
"What was that all about?" Michael asked Lucifer, curious about her exchange with God.
Lucifer, her eyes never leaving the gates, replied, "Nothing. Let us focus on the task at hand."
"So these are the gates to Heaven, huh?"
"It feels so peaceful and happy." Gabriel said, with a smile.
Lucifer stepped forward and opened the gates, allowing a burst of light to wash over her. The light was so intense that it momentarily blinded her, but as it faded, she found herself standing in a place of perfection.
"I can't believe he wants us to rule over such a large and wonderful place." Gabriel said in awe.
"It's perfect for when the others will arrive!"
Michael stood beside her sisters, surveying the landscape. "Indeed," she said, "It seems to be infinite in size, I can't see the end of this place."
The three sisters then entered Heaven and shaped Heaven preparing the arrival of the other angels, taking them seven hours to complete.
"My children, I have returned and it is time for the arrival of the angels." God said.
"Before that, I want to grant you three powers in return for your help."
All at the same time, the three sisters felt a presence above them, like a hand on their heads.
"Gabriel, I have granted the power of Astute, you will have great amounts of knowledge to help you in your everyday ventures."
"Michael, I have given you the power of Valiant. You will be a beacon of courage and strength, defending the angels and maintaining the order of Heaven."
"Lucifer," God continued, "I have bestowed upon you the power of the stars. With this power, you shall be a beacon of divine light, guiding the angels and able to birth suns and have divine power beyond both of your sisters ."
Lucifer, her pride momentarily set aside, felt a surge of awe and gratitude. The power given to her flowed through her, filling her with a radiant, ethereal light. Her black hair and blue eyes glowed with newfound brilliance, and her once defiant gaze softened for a moment.
"Thank you, Father," Lucifer whispered, her voice filled with newfound reverence.
With their newfound powers, the three sisters were ready to fulfill their roles as leaders of Heaven. The arrival of the angels was imminent, and the realm was ready for the angels who would soon grace its wondrous landscape.
As the gates of Heaven opened, a cascade of angels descended from the heavens like a river of light.
Lucifer, Michael, and Gabriel welcomed the angels and guided them to their new home, explaining the rules and the harmonious way of life that Heaven offered. The angels were in awe of the heavenly realm, and their hearts filled with gratitude for being chosen to reside in such a place.
As time passed for countless ages, Heaven thrived under the leadership of the archangels, and the angels reveled in their eternal existence, basking in the divine radiance of them.
Despite the angels being holy beings, they often bickered amongst themselves and spoke of rumors about the three archangels, especially about who was the strongest.
"I heard that Michael is the strongest!" One angel said, excitedly.
"But don't they all hold immense strength?" Another angel responded.
"I guess that's true, but Gabriel is known for her incredible speed. It's said that she can traverse the entirety of Heaven in the blink of an eye. She's like a bolt of lightning." Angel #1 said.
"I mean she's so fast you can't see her when she goes across Heaven!"
The whispers and discussions continued among the angels, each voicing their opinions on which archangel was the mightiest.
"But what about Lucifer?" Angel #1 mused. "Her power is something else entirely. It's like she contains a cosmic void within her, a wellspring of divine energy. I've heard she can create stars and harness the power of the cosmos."
"Ha! You exaggerate! But her power is undeniable..." Angel #1 muttered.
"Let's not dwell on these trivial matters; we have our heavenly duties to attend to."
The angels returned to work, yet they still held discussion about the archangels. The angels' discussions were filled with admiration and curiosity, and they still couldn't help but wonder about the mysteries of their divine leaders. Lucifer, Michael, and Gabriel, though blessed with incredible abilities, remained humble and dedicated to their roles as guardians of Heaven.
As time passed, the angels grew in number, and Heaven expanded. The realm thrived under the guidance of the archangels, and there was everlasting peace.
However, beneath the surface, Lucifer changed over the thousands of years that she lived. She began to grow greedy and desire more power than she already had.
She yearned for God's throne.
Most of the angels, blissfully unaware of Lucifer's ambitions, continued to labor in the harmony of Heaven. Some of the higher-ranking angels, including Michael and Gabriel, noticed the change in Lucifer's demeanor. They sensed her growing discontent and the brewing storm within her.
It was this growing discontent that would ultimately lead to the most significant event in the history of Heaven, the event that would echo throughout eternity—the rebellion of Lucifer.
