During the day I tried to gather my thoughts both about Misa and the case. L shouldn't have been so hard on the two suspects, let alone Misa who looked like an innocent little child. No, she was an innocent child. She was a victim who fell into the trap! L was a detective, and had to see at least that!

"Take a look at this," he said while typing something on one of the computers. We looked at the screen. We could see nothing but a big sign that said: "Yotsuba"

"What's that?" I asked.

"It's from Yotsuba's website. They have deleted all the elements of the website. All that's left is a one-minute video."

"Then press play. It may have evidence" Matsuda said.

The arrow on the computer clicked on the video and showed the characteristic loading symbol. It started playing with the camera showing one of the members. "Dear master, I would like to inform you of something that happened among the Yotsuba members."

"Who's the person he called master?" Matsuda murmured.

"Since you said none of us should have access to your email, I decided to videotape what I'm about to tell you and upload it to our website. After all, only you and two or three other special computers have access. It doesn't show up with a simple Google search."

He laughed awkwardly. "Anyway, I wanted to tell you we contacted Ryuk and he explained the matter. Before you, someone else owned the notebook but decided to end the property. Forgive me, I don't know how else to say it. It's... A special code, you see."

"What's he talking about? Ryuk? Notebook?Property?" Mogi said and L made an indication to be silent.

"We know you own the notebook now, but... Things got a little out of hand when... Let's say the members fought over its ownership. See for yourself."

The camera showed the rest of the members trying to move in some tied ropes.

"Don't get me wrong, I didn't leash them voluntarily, I just wanted to hold them back because things got out of control when we started discussing the possibility of one of us become your successor. You know Kira's job is no joke. I don't know why, but for some reason during the discussion some of my colleagues started to fight, and eventually, some of them were beaten to death. Naturally, I didn't participate in the fight, as I respect you, master! I wouldn't want you to worry, as the notebook is safe in my hands."

He walked out of the hall and headed for the building's underground garage by using the elevator. His camera showed a striking silver motorcycle with a gold bumper.

"Dear master, although the decision is not official, I'll eventually become your successor. As you already know, I never betrayed you. [I] am your most faithful assistant! For now, I'll take the notebook on my motorcycle to some isolated place outside of Tokyo. I still don't have a clear idea of the hideout in mind but the areas outside of Tokyo are densely forested, so there's no need to worry about the police or any local residents finding it. For now, I'll turn off the video. Duty calls me to hide this priceless treasure!"

Then, the video ended focusing on the shining motorcycle.

"The so-called 'master' must be Kira," Aizawa muttered.

"Wait a minute," L said, zooming in on the image on the motorcycle's bumper.

"Hmm... That's it," he concluded.

"What is it?"

"There's a kind of motorcycle quite expensive, which emits red steam from the bumper. Moreover, if someone is on the national road, they can easily see the imprints left by the bumper on the asphalt. As you can see from the colour, we are dealing with such a vehicle."

"Apparently, this guy either doesn't know this detail of his bike, or he forgot about it while filming the video. He even calls himself a remarkable partner of Kira..." Matsuda commented.

"Yet this carelessness is to our advantage as long as we can follow the footsteps," I said.

"If we catch up with time, yes. He uploaded the video half an hour ago. There's still time until we reach the area of Yotsuba's secret base and follow the footprints." L said.

And so the whole team decided to go after Kira's partner, the so-called third Kira since the second one was Misa. I don't know what my partners were thinking at the time but I am sure their desire to know the whole truth about Kira was as strong as mine.
