Chapter 4

**I own nothing as all belongs to J.K. Rowling**

The two walked towards the lake and sat down on the grass. For a moment, there was only silence. Suddenly, Draco spoke and said, "You know you are so lucky."

Luna looked over to Draco and said, "What do you mean by that?"

Draco sighed then turned to look at Luna and said, "You can do anything you want with your life. You can be whoever you want to be. My parents are forcing me to marry someone I do not love. I do not want to marry Astoria and I know if I refuse to then I will lose everything."

Luna gently grabbed Draco's hand, which did not go unnoticed by him, and she spoke with a soft voice and said, "Draco, we have one life to live. You have to make that choice if you want to be happy or to be miserable. I believe you want to be happy and after all we have been through as humans in this world, I think you know what you want to do."

Draco kept looking into Luna's eyes. There was something about how honest and kind she is. Luna spoke in a way that could draw you in and make you feel heard. Draco took a moment and then said, "I want to be happy. I know the consequences will be difficult. I just do not know how to go about this."

Luna smiled and said, "You will figure it out Draco. You just need to search within yourself to know what you want to say and share what is on your heart."

Before Draco responded, Luna walked back to the castle. Draco sat for some more time just staring in the direction that Luna went int.

The next few days passed in a blur as Luna attended her classes. It finally was Friday and Luna had just gotten out of Potions with Slughorn. Luna decided to head to the library to work on homework as it was not crowded at this time.

Luna found a table near a window and set her bag and books down. She took a seat and began her essay for Potions. Luna became engrossed in her work that she did not hear someone sit directly across from her.

"Looney, we need to speak" the voice hissed.

Luna looked up from her essay to see Astoria Greengrass glaring back at her.

"Oh, hi Astoria. It is a lovely day today. How are you?" Luna asked with a smile on her face.

"Quit the small talk. You know why I am here. You need to stop being friends with Draco. You literally are a nuisance and he has a commitment to me and our families. It is better for you to stay away" Astoria said glaring menacingly at Luna.

Luna set down her quill and looked back to Astoria, "Draco and I are just friends. I know of his commitment with you. You do not have anything to worry about."

Astoria huffed and said, "Just stay away from him if you know what is better for you Looney." With that, Astoria grabbed her bag and headed out of the library.

Luna sat still for a moment as she pondered Astoria's words. This should not bother her as she knew Draco was betrothed to Astoria. However, there was this feeling within Luna that she was not sure of what it was. She liked spending time with Draco and always enjoyed their conversations. She did not want to stop being friends with Draco, but she knew Astoria had connections and Luna did not want to end up on the wrong side of Astoria's wand.

Luna sighed as she continued to finish her Potions essay. After some time, Luna packed up her things and headed to the Ravenclaw common room to go put her things away.

Luna entered the Great Hall for dinner and was noticeably quieter than normal. Some of her classmates tried to speak with her, but Luna only had short responses.

Luna was unaware of a pair of silver eyes watching her all throughout the meal.

After the feast, Luna decided to go for a walk outside. She wrapped her scarf around her neck and headed outdoors. She found a bench near some trees and sat down. Luna allowed her eyes to close as she felt a tear slide down her cheek.

Luna heard quiet footsteps and felt another person's presence near her.

She looked to her right and saw Draco sitting next to her.

Draco was about to speak when he noticed the tears on Luna's cheeks. He took his finger and wiped the tears off her cheeks.

Luna stared into his eyes and Draco then asked, "What did she say to you?"
