Mayhem:
Penelope Garcia for the life of her couldn't figure out how Derek Morgan was still alive. He was reckless, impulsive, and she loved him. For years, she had secretly been in love with the one guy she knew was off limits. After she got shot, she had started dating Kevin in an attempt to get over Derek, but it was pointless. She would never stop loving him, and now he was in yet another life-threatening scenario.
"Why does it always have to be you?" She asked him, trying desperately not to let the fear over-take her ability to help him out of this situation. "Why do you always have to do this?"
She continued to advise him about how much time was left before the bomb in the ambulance Derek was driving went off. She knew he was cutting it way too close, and the odds seemed very slim that he'd make it out alive. She hated that he was putting his life in jeopardy.
"There's something I really want you to know, Garcia." Derek began.
"Save it, just get out." She pleaded, knowing he only had seconds left.
She was feeling physically ill. The ambulance was going to explode with him in it. She might never see him again. She might never have a late night talk or movie night with him again. She might never hear him call her 'Babygirl' again.
"No, no, no, I'm not quite there yet." He replied as Bartleby started counting down from ten.
"Morgan, please." Penelope begged frantically.
"You know what you are Garcia?"
"Morgan!" Penelope cried as the seconds reached zero.
The tech was pretty sure her heart actually stopped when she heard the explosion. She could hardly breath. She felt like an elephant was sitting on her chest. She wanted to throw up and cry and scream all at once.
"Derek?" It came out as a whisper. It was basically a plea for him to still be alive.
There was no response. She gasped. He couldn't be gone. Not Derek. She was stunned into silence. She couldn't speak or move. They didn't have enough time. It was too late. She had lost him.
"Garcia?" His voice came over. She nearly collapsed with relief. "I'll tell you what you are to me. You're my God-given solace. Woman, you promise me one thing. Whatever happens, don't you ever stop talking to me."
"I can't right now." She replied, with tears running down her face. "Because I'm mad at you."
"I can wait." He assured her.

Penelope Garcia thought herself to be pretty level headed. She tried to be optimistic and to be angry as little as possible in life. She lived her life in color, expressing herself with her clothing, her hair, and the little figurines on her desk. She rarely yelled, and usually was a rock for her teammates. But, Derek Morgan changed all of that today.
She was so angry at him for risking his own life once again. She had almost lost him, and to make matters worse, she had been on the phone with him when it happened. Her heart was still racing at the thought. She didn't know what she'd do if she lost him. She loved him, and she knew he loved her too, even if it was just as his best friend.
"Garcia, we're back." Reid appeared before her. "Rossi wants to see us in the conference room. Hotch is still at the hospital, so he's doing the debriefing. Hey, are you alright?"
"Fine, boy wonder." She gave him a half smile.
The pair walked into the conference room and joined the rest of the team, sans Hotch, at the conference table. Reid took the empty seat beside Prentiss which left the only open seat to be next to Derek. He smiled when he saw his baby girl walk in. He stood, opening his arms to her.
"Hey baby." He said, pulling her tight. "You forgive me yet?"
"Still deciding." She responded against his chest. He chuckled.
"I can think of ways to make it up to you, sweetness." He teased. It worked, she cracked a smile.
The two sat back down as Rossi entered the room. He began to tell them an update on Hotch, and explained that they would all be staying the night in a hotel. He gave them the name and told them they were all free to head there whenever. It was late, and the paperwork could wait. He knew the team needed to get some rest.
Reid, JJ, and Emily wanted to stop for some food before going to the hotel. Derek wanted to talk to Penelope, and offered to drive her to the hotel separately. She agreed and they headed out.
Rossi had given them all keys to their rooms, so Derek and Penelope were all set once they arrived at the hotel. Derek, however, asked Penelope to join him in his room for a drink. She was trying to still be upset with him for nearly dying, but she knew it was no use. She had forgiven him as soon as she saw him.
The two took the elevator to the floor where all of the team's rooms were. Derek and Penelope's rooms were across the hall from each other, Penelope noticed. She wondered if they had purposely been put close to one another. She followed her Hot Stuff into his room.
As soon as the door was closed, Penelope Garcia was given the surprise of her lifetime. Derek pushed her up against the door. His mouth was quickly on hers, and his hands were tangled in her blonde curls. She didn't even hesitate to kiss him back. They continued this way for many moments, his tongue slipping between her lips. She let out a moan.
"Wait, stop." She said suddenly. Her words were short because she was nearly out of breath. She pushed back and stepped away from him. Making sure there was appropriate distance between them. "We can't."
"Okay, it's okay, Baby Girl." Derek soothed her, his own voice breathy from the kiss. He took a small step closer. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong? What's wrong? Derek!" Penelope exclaimed, growing agitated. "Did you not just witness that kiss?"
"Oh I did." Derek grinned. "I still don't see the problem?"
"You don't see the problem?" Penelope's eyes widened with disbelief. "Okay, well let's start with the obvious fact that you're my best friend and you just kissed me. Or, the fact that I have a boyfriend. Or, my personal favorite, you almost just died and then you decided to pin me against the door. Not that I'm not equally as guilty, because I definitely kissed you back, but Derek, this is wrong."
"Penelope, please, calm down, alright? Let's sit down and talk." Derek pleaded.
He hesitantly put a hand on her arm, when she didn't jerk away, he led her to the bed. She looked unsure at first, but eventually sat down next to him. She knew Derek wouldn't do anything she didn't want him to. She trusted him.
"Let me address your concerns, sweetness." Derek said. "First, Kevin Lynch has nothing on me and we both know it. I never said anything because I thought he made you happy, but you deserve much better than that guy. Which leads me to being your best friend and the fact that I kissed you after almost dying." He paused, checking to see if she was following.
"Please, continue." Penelope said, looking into Derek's dark brown eyes. "I'm listening."
"Lover, when you were shot, do you remember when I told you I loved you?" He asked her, his tone serious. She nodded. "Okay, well, I think you misunderstood. I was trying to tell you that I love you as more than just my best friend. Baby Girl, you are my God given solace. I needed you to know that because I can't go on another minute without you knowing that I am completely foolishly in love with you."
"Derek…" She trailed off, tears pooling in her eyes. She looked at him like he was offering her the whole entire world, which he basically was. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"You got with Lynch." He explained. "I thought he was what you wanted."
"You said it yourself, baby, Kevin never had anything on you." She sniffled. "Derek Morgan, how did you not know that I have loved you for years? I meant it after Battle too. I love you, and I wanted you, but you never made another move, and Kevin was there, asking me out. I thought you just saw me as your dorky best friend."
"Penelope Garcia, you are absolutely everything to me." Derek told her. "I want to be with you."
Penelope cupped his face in her hands before leaning in and placing her lips over his. He kissed her back, devouring her. Slowly, they fell back on the bed. Derek's hands ran over her curves. He loved the shape of her body. He could spend all day just learning the exact pattern of her curves.
"Tell me if you want me to stop." Derek told her, momentarily pulling back from the kiss. "I need you to tell me now if you don't want to go further."
"Don't you dare even think about stopping, Hot Stuff." Penelope told him. She pressed a hard kiss to his lips before continuing. "All those years of teasing, and I'll finally fulfill my chocolate craving."
That was enough of an answer to the SSA. He slipped his hand up her bare leg. He had never been more thankful for skirts than he was in that moment. He nibbled at her ear and requested she lose her shirt. She agreed, but told him it was tit for tat. She untucked her blouse from her skirt. She lifted her arms as she sat up on the bed. Derek lifted the shirt over her head.
Once her shirt and bra were successfully tossed to the other side of the room, she reached out and took the bottom of his shirt in her hands. Derek got the hint and helped her to remove his t-shirt.
"Mmmm, perfect." Penelope licked her lips when she saw his statuesque abs.
"You're the perfect one." Derek inisted.
He leaned down and kissed both her breasts, earning him another moan from his baby girl. He buried his face in her chest, peppering her with kisses. She begged him not to tease her. He chuckled before he ran his hand up her leg again. He smiled when he reached her panties and found them to be wet already.
"Derek." She whimpered, begging him to touch her already.
He happily obliged to her wishes. He pushed the lacy panties aside and let his fingers explore her warm wetness. She practically screamed out when he found her sweet spot without even trying. She wasn't sure Kevin had even come close to making her feel this good, and Derek was just getting started.
"Let me taste you, baby girl." He grinned.
She nodded and lifted her hips so he could reach the zipper of her skirt. He pulled the skirt off her body, and then her panties followed. He grabbed her legs and carefully pulled her to the edge of the bed and placed her legs over his shoulders. He nuzzled her wetness before placing his tongue on her clit. She groaned and gripped onto his head.
"Oh God." She moaned loudly. "Derek!"
He smiled against her. Her moans were music to his ears. He continued to explore her with his tongue before adding a finger to the mix. She screamed with pleasure, an orgasm hitting her suddenly. He let her ride out her waves of pleasure before he moved back up the bed.
"I can't breathe." Penelope giggled. Derek kissed her mouth.
"Take your time to recoup baby, we have all night." Derek told her.
"Oh, no, Hot Stuff. My turn." She flipped them over.
She reached for Derek's belt buckle. He laughs as she fumbled in a hurry to get them off. Finally, the jeans were long gone and only his boxers were in the way. Penelope wasted no time. She slid her fingers around the waistband and pushed them off his body. He kicked off when they pooled around his ankles.
"Oh my, my, my handsome, the rumors hold true." She grinned.
Derek was definitely blessed. He knew it, but hearing Penelope say it made him soar. He was more than ready to make love to her, finally. He didn't think he had ever been this turned on. Penelope wrapped her soft hand around his erect member. She leaned down and softly kissed the tip before slowly welcoming into her mouth. He groaned loudly. He knew if she continued, there was no way he'd last. He gently pulls her head away.
"I just wanna make love to you, baby girl." He said kissing her passionately. He laid her gently back on the bed so that he was once again hovering over her. He gently moved a piece of hair from her face. "God you're beautiful."
"Oh, Derek." She sighed, her heart pounding.
"Are you sure baby?" He asked one last time. She nodded. This was finally going to happen.
He took his member in his hand and gently slid it into her warmth. They both gasped as he filled her completely. It felt like coming home, like they were made for one another. He gave her a moment to adjust. She started to grind her hips, urging him to move. He did just that. He started off by slowly thrusting in and out of her.
"Please, please, Derek." She begged incoherently. "Faster baby."
He granted her wishes and sped up his movements. He was hitting all the right places, and she could feel that familiar pleasure in her belly grow stronger. She told him she was getting close, and he told her he was nearly there too. He reached down and rubbed her clit, causing her to scream in pleasure.
"Come for me, my love." Derek coaxed. She lets out a long moan of ecstasy as her orgasm finally took over. The clenching of her warmth around his hard member triggered Derek's own orgasm and he emptied himself inside of her.
They lied in each other's arms, still coming down from their highs, breathing heavily. When she stopped clenching around him Derek pulled out of her warmth carefully and rolled them over so she's laying on top of him. He kissed her head lovingly.
"I love you." He told her. She nuzzled her face into his chest. "You are so wonderful, and beautiful and perfect."
"I love you too, Derek." Penelope smiled. "You have made all of my dreams come true."
Derek couldn't believe they were finally at this place. He was holding the love of his life in his arms. After all of these years they had finally found their way together. They could worry about everything else later. Or, maybe not.
A knocking on the door forced them out of their bubble. Penelope looked freaked out. She didn't want anyone to know. She had, technically, just cheated on her boyfriend. Until she called things off with Kevin, she wanted to keep this between them.
"They'll go away." Derek mumbled, burying his face in her hair.
The knocking continued. Derel groaned, worrying it could be something important. He told Penelope to stay put, he'd get rid of whoever was at the door. He threw on a bathrobe to make whoever it was think he was in the shower.
"Yeah, what's up?" Derek asked, cracking the door open. Spencer Reid stood on the other side of it.
"Want to play a card game?" Spencer asked, holding up a deck. "JJ and Emily went to bed, and Penelope didn't answer. Have you seen her?"
"W-what?" Derek stuttered. "No, of course not. I was in the shower."
"You're dry." Spencer pointed out. He looked at Derek with questioning eyes. "And the water wasn't running."
"I meant I was going to get in the shower." Derek corrected.
Why did it have to be the boy genius who showed up at his door? Derek knew Reid wouldn't fall for just anything. He needed to get him out of here so that he didn't see Penelope was naked in his bed.
"You know what kid, sure. Let me throw on some clothes and we can go back to your room." Derek suggested.
"Can't we play here?" Reid asked. "The guy in the room next to mine has his TV up all the way. It's rather disruptive. I was only able to read 57 pages of my book before I gave up."
"Actually, kid, I'm-"
"Derek, is that Penelope's skirt laying on the floor?" Spencer asked. His eidetic memory coming into play. Derek felt the color drain from his face. "On second thought, I'll go see if Rossi is in his room yet."
Spencer hightailed it away from Derek's room. Derek mentally face palmed. How could he not think to make sure no evidence was visible? He was an FBI profiler, damn it. He closed the door and rested his forehead against it for a moment.
"Sorry, baby." Derek said, walking back to Penelope. "He knows."
"Do you think he'll say anything?" Penelope asked, sounding worried.
"No, I think the poor kid was too scarred to tell anyone." Derek said, he climbed back in bed. "I'm so sorry. I didn't-"
"Derek, it's okay." Penelope assured him softly. "I made my bed. I have to lay in it."
"Oh baby I hope you mean that literally." Derek teased. Penelope laughed.
"Derek Morgan, you are incorrigible!"
"But you love me." Derek grinned.
"Yes, I do." She confirmed.
Derek pulled her back into his arms. They snuggled together in bed before they both fell into the best sleep of their lives.

Derek and Penelope woke up still wrapped in each other's arms. The pair knew that they had to return to the real world, and they had a lot to talk about. They both wanted to be together, but Penelope needed to end things with Kevin. There was also the whole Frat rule, Strauss would not take their relationship well. And, they had to tell their team that they were together, but regardless of the hurdles, they were determined to overcome them together.
The pair were able to slip out of his room without drawing attention to themselves. They were meeting the rest of the team in the lobby. When they got off the elevator, Emily, JJ and Spencer were there waiting. Spencer turned red when he saw them, and quickly averted his gaze so they didn't make eye contact.
"Where's Rossi?" Penelope asked them.
"He's driving home with Hotch since Hotch hasn't been cleared to fly." JJ informed them. "We should get going, wheels up in 30."
They headed to the plane together and boarded quickly. They were all ready to go home after a very emotional few days. Spencer was playing solitaire, Emily was listening to a podcast, and JJ was looking over some new case files. Derek and Penelope were seated next to one another.
Penelope rested her head on Derek's shoulder and began to fall asleep. The activities from the night before left her with little rest, not that she was complaining, but it was finally hitting her. Derek was reading a book, and gently kissed her head. Emily and JJ didn't even bat an eye at the behavior. It was so normal to see them act this way, they didn't question it.
Spencer, however, couldn't help but smile to himself. He didn't understand how it took them so long to finally get together. It didn't take a genius to see how those two looked at one another. He was happy for them, he just hoped they would be able to work things out. They deserved to be happy, and he knew that the only way that could truly happen was if they were together.
The plane touched down a while later. Derek gently woke up Penelope. She smiled when the first thing her eyes saw was his face. She could most definitely get used to that. The team grabbed their bags and headed out. They had the next two days off unless an emergency happened. Penelope wanted to take Derek's offer and go home with him, but she knew she needed to talk to Kevin first.
"Call me when you're ready, baby girl." Derek said. He kissed her quickly goodbye. "No rush."
"Kevin is meeting me at my place." Penelope told Derek. Her boyfriend had just messaged her back to confirm he was on his way to her apartment. "We'll talk after?"
"Of course, sweetness." Derek smiled. "You gonna be okay?"
"Kevin's not the first boyfriend I've broken up with." Penelope informed him. "I'm just sad that I have to hurt him, you know?"
"I know, honey." Derek said.
"I should go." Penelope sighed. She was about to walk away to her car. "I'll talk to you soon."
"P?" Derek grabbed her arm gently. She looked up at him. "I love you."
"I love you too." She smiled.

Penelope was filled with dread. She wanted to be with Derek, and she knew that meant breaking up with Kevin, but she wished this part could just be over already. Even if Kevin wasn't always the best boyfriend, and even though she wasn't in love with him, she did care about him. She didn't want him to know about her night with Derek. She was going to tell him that she was in love with Derek, but she couldn't stand how he would look at her if he knew what she had done.
She felt awful for being unfaithful to Kevin, but she could never regret what her and Derek had shared. It was pure magic. She felt as if her whole life had been building up that moment. He was her soulmate, of that, she was sure. And, she didn't want to waste anymore time. They were going to be together.
Kevin was waiting for her when she got there. He had unlocked her door with the spare key she kept hidden in the fake flowers outside her door. Kevin didn't have his own key. Her only extra set was on Derek's key ring. If that didn't say something, she didn't know what did.
"Plum Sauce, I'm glad you're home safe." Kevin told her when she came in. "I was worried about you."
"I wasn't in the field." She reminded him. She took a deep breath and sat next to him on the coach.
"Do you want to order some dinner? Put on Doctor Who?" Kevin asked her. "I brought my DVD copies!"
"Uhm, no, I, need to talk to you actually." Penelope said seriously. Kevin nodded at her, urging her to go on. "Derek was in a really dangerous situation in New York. He was driving an ambulance with a bomb in it."
"Oh my!" Kevin exclaimed. "Is he alright?"
"Thankfully, yes. He just barely got out before it exploded." Penelope explained. Even the memory made her want to cry. "I was on the other line with him, trying to talk him through it. When I heard the explosion, I-I-"
"Thought the worst?" Kevin filled in.
"Exactly." She smiled weakly. She took a shaky breath. "The thing is, Derek was going on and on during this whole situation about how he needed me to know something. He was insistent on it. I told him, of course, to just worry about getting to safety. He did, but he still wanted me to know something. He said I was his God-Given Solace."
"Uhm, that's nice of him." Kevin was confused as to why his girlfriend thought he should know this. He already disliked the way Morgan talked to her, why would she stir the pot even more. "You're his best friend, he probably just wanted you to know that."
"That's not it, Kevin." Penelope said. She looked Kevin in the eyes. "Derek is in love with me. He told me."
"I'll fight him." Kevin growled. He started to stand, but Penelope pushed him to stay seated. He was fuming. "How dare he try and make a move on my girl!?"
"Kevin...I-I love him too." Penelope admitted. "And I want to be with him. I'm so sorry. I lead you on, and that was wrong, but we both know...it's always been him."
"No!" Kevin exclaimed, growing angry. "I love you, Penelope Garcia, not Morgan. He was only saying that because he came close to death. He probably just wanted to get you in his bed like he does all the other girls he comes in contact with."
Penelope knew it wasn't true, but those words stung. She reminded herself that Kevin didn't know Derek the way she did. He was upset that she was breaking up with him and was lashing out. He had no idea how much she and Derek loved one another. This was different than with other girls. She would not let Kevin get in her head. Her silence, however, made Kevin grow suspicious.
"Y-you slept with him, didn't you?" Kevin accused. Penelope knew she couldn't lie directly to his face. The look of shock and anxiousness on her face gave it away. "How could you!? I loved you! And you just let him seduce you? I hope he was a good fuck, because he's going to dump you as soon as he realizes the mistake he made!"
"That's not true!" Penelope practically screamed, jumping to her feet. She would not let Kevin say those kinds of things. "You're hurt, and I understand that, but don't you dare speak of things you know nothing about. I want you to leave."
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea before I say something I regret." Kevin agreed. He grabbed his things from the coffee table and pushed past her to get to the door. "I hope you're happy Penelope, you just lost the best thing to ever happen to you."
"No, Kevin. I've had the best thing that ever happened to me for years, it just took until yesterday for me to be brave enough to take it."
Kevin glared at her and stormed out the door, slamming it shut behind him. Penelope took a few deep breaths. The hardest part was over. She just wanted to see Derek. She called him, and he encouraged her to come over. She didn't need convincing.

Derek and Penelope spent their two days off together. They hardly left Derek's bed. It was pure bliss to finally be together. Aside from the sex, and the constant confessing of their love for one another, not much really was changing. They still teased each other. He still called her Baby Girl, and he was still her Chocolate Thunder. Things were just better now.
Monday came far too quickly. They had to exit their happy little bubble and return to the BAU. They knew it was likely that Kevin would tell people about their relationship, so they decided to tell their team first thing.
Derek and Penelope came into work together. She hadn't wanted to leave his place to go home, and he didn't want her to leave. They had stopped by her apartment and grabbed a bunch of things to keep at his place. They were making up for the years they lost and didn't want to be apart anymore than they had to.
The team was gathering in the conference room to discuss some cases. Hotch was back, but still recovering. Reid smiled at the couple when they walked in, knowing what was going to happen next. They would have to make up for the awkwardness of how he discovered their relationship to him sometime.
Hotch stood before them. He looked a little concerned. He informed them that Strauss was coming to their meeting. JJ asked why, and Hotch explained he had no idea. She had left a message for him that she wanted to talk to his team first thing that morning. Without fail, a moment later, she walked in. They all greeted her, and Aaron took a seat.
"It has come to my attention that we have some inappropriate behavior by two members of this team." Strauss said. "A TA from another team told me that Ms. Garcia and Agent Morgan are sleeping together.
Everyone, including Penelope and Derek gasped. Lynch had gotten to Strauss before they even had the chance to tell their team. Hotch started to defend them, trying to insist that they were friends who teased one another, and that nothing was going on there. Derek stopped him.
"Actually, it's true. Kind of." Derek admitted. JJ, Prentiss, Hotch and Rossi looked shocked as he continued on. "We aren't just sleeping together. We wanted to tell you, but Lynch is acting out of jealousy and anger, and beat us to it. After everything in New York, I finally got my act together and told Penelope that I was in love with her. After all these years, we finally are together, and I don't see that changing."
"You two are well aware of the rules, agent." Strauss said coldly. "No fraternizing with coworkers. Now, Morgan you are a vital part of this team, and we cannot afford to lose you. So, either you and Ms. Garcia ends this right now, or she will be looking for a new place of employment. We can even relocate her."
Everyone 's jaws dropped. Hotch tried, again, to defend them, but Strauss simply put a hand up to silence him. Garcia was going to quit. She decided right then, she couldn't lose Derek. She would find a new job, but before she could even say it, Reid stood up.
"If Derek or Penelope leave this team, I'm out." He said.
"I'm out too." JJ agreed, also standing.
Prentiss and Rossi followed suit. Hotch let out a rare, almost, smile. He stood too. Derek nodded and Penelope and they joined their team. Strauss was speechless. She wanted to argue with all of them, but she knew they weren't messing around. She may not like it, but they were a family unit, and separating them was not going to happen. She didn't want to explain to the director why the entire BAU up and quit.
"This is very unethical." She practically growled. "But I see you aren't going to be reasonable about this. Morgan and Garcia, you will need to fill out some paperwork stating that you won't hold this department liable for any sexual misconduct and you must agree to remain professional, well as professional as the two of you can be, I suppose."
With that she sent one last glare at the team, and stalked toward the door. Derek and Penelope sighed with relief as they watched her leave the room. At least they both still had their jobs, and telling Strauss was out of the way. Maybe what Kevin did was actually a blessing in disguise. Now, they just had to face the lions.
"I'm so sorry you had to hear that from her!" Penelope apologized. "We were going to tell you this morning!"
"And thank you for what you all did just now." Derek added. "We're lucky that went as well as it did, I can't believe you all did that for us."
"It's okay." JJ insisted with a smile. "We're all just happy you finally admitted your feelings to each other."
"Honestly, we've had bets for a long time." Prentiss chuckled. "Besides, we can handle Strauss."
Hotch and Rossi nodded in agreement. The couple was happy to hear that they had the support of their coworkers. These wonderful people really were like their family, and knowing they had their backs made everything even more perfect.
"I just have one question." Rossi said. "Why doesn't Reid look surprised?"
"Well…." Reid began.
"Let's just say, Reid found out about us in a way I'm not so proud of." Derek rubbed the back of his neck. His face turning red. "Thanks for not saying anything, kid."
"No problem." Reid smiled. "You both just owe me lots of chess games in the future."
The team all chuckled. After debriefing some things, Hotch dismissed the team to go back to work. Penelope headed to her lair, and Derek snuck in behind her. He pushed her against her office door and kissed her.
"This going to become a regular thing?" She teased.
"You bet." He smiled.
A/N Okay! Here is the first chapter of this new series. If you have a moment from the show (or made up) you want to have in here, please let me know! I will also be working on the sequel to my other story The Story of Us, and should have that coming soon :)
