Satou's POV:
Tick…tock…tick…tock…
It felt like time was purposefully being a bitch today, slowly strolling from minute to minute. They had a free period due to their teacher being preoccupied with other stuff. Thank goodness, he couldn't deal with some teacher's dull voice echoing through the class; and then getting called up for an answer he didn't know half of the time.
The school had just finished their annual sport's festival, and standing on the podiums were all students from class 1-A. To say he wasn't proud of his classmates would be a lie; but he will say he wasn't that proud of Bakugou being first place. He'd prefer Yaoyorozu or even Tokoyami to be first, but that's how life is. It's not like he had a time traveling quirk where he could've changed the future…
Sucks…
The class had just gotten internship offers from recognized pros, Bakugou Katsuki and Todoroki Shouto mostly. It still had Rikidou feeling a little pumped still; to put yourself out in the world and learn under the best of the best. Yeah. That was exciting.!
But after the internships announcement and choosing his hero name (He had almost given himself the name Sugarman, over his dead body he thought.) there wasn't much else he was thinking about.
The only thoughts that were circling his brain were 'What type of cupcakes should I make for Naomi's birthday this weekend' , 'What should I buy for her with the pocket money I have?' and 'I'm bored as shit.'
Truth to be told, nobody really knew that Satou had siblings; not even the people he talks to the most in this class. 'I mean—why would they want to know? The amount of siblings I have is like the last thing on their minds…Hell, I'm probably the last thing on their minds…'
Blink
Blink
Blink
He did not want to mull over the fact that he was basically a background character in most of his classmates' lives. An NPC even. Rikidou cared too much about what other people think about him. He should try and get out of that habit, it'd be anything but beneficial to him later on.
'What was there to even think about again…'
…
Oh!
'That Kodai girl from 1-B. I really need to ask her about that Vox Machina keychain…but hopefully I can see her at lunch. Would she even—'
RING!
The bell that had rung was basically a lifesaver and a nuisance; lifesaver because he can finally go for lunch, nuisance because he was still deep in thought about 1-B's raven haired girl. Maybe he should snap out of it, he criticised himself for.
Surprisingly, Kirishima and Sero waited for him by the door. Ojiro was there too. Satou liked Ojiro, he was cool. The trio was in deep conversation, probably about who they're interning under the following week. Huh…he kind of found it weird they waited for him, usually they were trying to reach for Lunch Rush as soon as possible, or were probably trying to rush him to get there on time.
In their defense, Lunch Rush's food was that good. Of course you wouldn't want to miss it! Plus there was a special today. Rikidou wondered what is was, to be honest.
"Feeling slow today aren't we?" He teased the trio at the door, which snapped them out of their conversation. Rikidou personally found it funny, so there was a little smile on his face
"You could say something like that, we just aren't hurrying to go to the canteen, it's probably packed there now—and sweaty." Ojiro was the one to speak up. He didn't really talk that much, only talking when he felt it was necessary. Right now they were walking out, on their way to said canteen.
And as Ojiro had said, it was packed into oblivion. It took alot of 'excuse me's' , 'out of the way please's' and 'pardons' in order to atleast get their food and a table. He was hungry as hell right now, so he was glad it didn't take long despite them coming a little later than usual. From what he'd heard from Kaminari, the special was some Italian dishes.
Rikidou didn't hate Italian food, it just wasn't his style. The only italian things he liked were pizza and gelato. That was it. While eating the bowl of inamuruchi on the tray, he noticed Kodai, and her friend Yanagi. Shit, he had forgotten about them sitting here at lunch time. They looked lost if he was being honest.
Just as he was about to get their attention, Kirishima had gotten their attention easily. If Satou was being honest, he could be Present Mic 2.0 with him being able to catch the attention of anyone with his voice. The two 1-B girls were walking to their table and holy shit –it felt like his heart had just jumped.
That was weird, it's not like he had a crush on her, right?
Right?
There was a twinkle in Sero's eyes when they sat on the bench. "Hello there my fair maidens!~" Honestly, Rikidou thought that was a little out of character for Sero.
But then again; he hangs out with Kaminari, he wouldn't put it past him. Back to reality though, Kodai was sitting there (looking pretty and all), with her signature blank expression. She had what looked like lomo saltado on her plate. Is she from Perú? Or maybe she just likes it…
To be fair though she does look kind of mixed.
Why is he thinking of this right now? Is it even relevant?
"So…Yanagi and Kodai, who are you interning under?" He finally worked up the courage to ask them something. Apparently Yanagi decided to intern under Thirteen, which wasn't a bad choice honestly. Kodai had chosen to intern under Mt. Lady. Does she have a size quirk? He should probably ask her, although from what he'd noticed she'd probably just either say mhm or nod her head. Something like that.
"Kodai, may I ask ya somethin'?"
That was met with a nod. Probably meant 'Just get on with it and ask dude…'
"What's your quirk?" He regretted asking.
…
Silence.
"Yeah, what is it Kodai-san?" Rikidou didn't expect Sero to also ask. He assumed that since they did track and field he might atleast have an idea of it.
The only thing she did was grab what looked like a cent. Rikidou assumed it was something like a magician quirk
What he did not expect was for the cent to grow bigger and bigger, until it was the size of the tray. His eyes were like saucers, and she was probably creeped out. He should probably stop. Satou was impressed, more than impressed. Now he understood why she chose Mt. Lady.
The other guys themselves were also in awe of it. Rikidou had imagined if Midoriya were here, he would of been asking her a million and one questions about her quirk he couldn't even come up with.
Instantly, Kirishima grinned "That's so MANLY Kodai!" Indeed Kirishima, that was quite manly. There were words of praise and questions of whether she can increase or decrease the size of a person. She shakes her head.
The conversation was going in a good direction until someone had to interrupt it.
"WELL WELL WELL! Looks like Yanagi-san and Kodai-san are fraternising with the enemy! BETRAYAL I SAY!" That someone being Monoma's loud jerkass . Can he just cállate y desaparece de la existencia ?
For the benefit of everybody.
His whack ass speech about 1-B superiority didn't last long as Kendou, thankfully, chopped him at the back of his neck. Rikidou feels bad for her; who'd want to handle that guy 8 hours a day?
Not him.
Holding the back of his collar in one hand, her lunch tray in the other, she apologized on his behalf "Sorry about that, he's been like this since the Sports Festival. Kodai, Yanagi, are you guys good?"
That question was answered with nods from both girls. The redhead seemed satisfied with that answer, before walking away from the table.
Well atleast the nutcase is gone.
Praise the lord.

Timeskip: Saturday Afternoon
—-
To say he wasn't tired would be a lie.
He was. Tired from carrying all these bags in hand that his mom told him to carry for her. For some lovely reason, she decided to take his sisters on shopping sprees on a sticky, hot Saturday. Originally his big brother, Kojin, was supposed to come but conveniently, he had assignments to hand up for his professor—which was a lie. He had recently told him that he was free of assignments, which meant he could go to clubs for a bit.
Asshole.
So now thanks to Kojin, he had to carry a buttload of bags; spanning from Uniqlo to foreign brands like Claire's ('Who even shops at Claire's?' he wondered). The bags may have looked light but they were anything but light. Satou's a strong guy, yes, but even a strong guy has his limits.
"Oi Rikidou, keep up you tortuga !" instructed Naomi. It was her birthday today, and she was acting like a bi—brat about it. Mom had done her hair in braids the night before, which were adorned with pastel pink and blue beads at the end. His mom did a great job, but besides that; she was still pissing him off.
Sometimes he wonders how she can get away with murder despite her ways. Perks of being a younger sibling, he assumed.
"Just because it's yer birthday don't mean ya gotta act like Princess Margaret, t onto del culo —"
"Rikidou! Cuida tu lenguaje con tu hermana antes de que te abofetee aquí mismo." Ouch. His mom's a nice woman, but when she needs to be harsh, she's harsher than the word harsh. You don't even have to know her to feel like you're being scolded for something.
"Perdon…" he could hear his mother scoff, before continuing her steps. The only other thing that was heard were the snickers of his sisters, Naomi and Soraya. In Soraya's hands were their actual baby sister, Natsumi, fast asleep in a stroller. Little Natsumi was born last year on the day before Valentine's Day. When mom first revealed that she was pregnant with baby number 6, there were varying reactions. Spanning from " 'm not gonna be the youngest anymore!" to "Ma, i'm literally an adult. Aren't yer too old to be makin' more kids?", which was met with a slap.
Which was funny.
He may find them annoying, but they were his sisters at the end of the day, he'd do anything for them.
But back to reality and out of reminiscing, Mom was hungry from all the walking, and she decided to stop at this Peruvian restaurant called Federico's . Entering the restaurant, the atmosphere felt welcoming; the aroma of what smelt like various vegetables frying were in the air. The restaurant itself didn't look bad. The walls were painted teal and burgundy, the furniture was some type of fancy wood—either way it looked nice. There were pictures on the wall with various landmarks of Perú, the famed Machu Picchu was one of them.
There was a picture of the owner of the restaurant, Federico, standing next to the pro hero Kamui Woods. Federico, judging from the picture, was quite a short, stout man. He had a buzzcut and a goatee too, with a smile that reached his eyes. Kamui…Kamui Woods looked like he was just here for a promotion.
They found a booth that was by the window, and honest to god he was relieved. Mainly because he was exhausted from being on his two feet. Soraya had gotten tired from holding Natsumi, so now she was in Rikidou's hands, somewhat awake. Like normal babies do, she was looking around in a new environment, curious about her surroundings. Mom and Naomi were debating on whether to get ají de gallina or pollo a la brasa . Either way, he just wanted something edible in his stomach. The aroma floating around the building wasn't helping his case either.
Too busy thinking about the options, a server had come to take their order. "Hello dear! Are you taking our orders today? What's your name?" his mom inquired
"Oh it's Yui! What a pretty girl!"
Wait— Yui ?!
Maybe his mind just assumed it was Kodai, surely it couldn't be her.
Right?
Right?
