"Is oatmeal in this aisle?"

Bridget did a quick scan of the aisle. "Looks like it," she told Cooper. He gave her a thumbs up while Buck pulled out the list. Jules did her best to ignore the list and tried to get into the music that was blasting through the store's speakers.

The store was getting busier as time went on, and the teens bunched together so they could strategize. "So snacks, cereal, oatmeal, and other breakfast junk," Buck said. "No," Jules said. "Breakfast junk like poptarts are in the candy aisle." Buck pulled his head back. "That –." "-Doesn't make sense. I know." Buck sighed. "Oh-kay. So, snacks, cereal, and oatmeal. I kinda feel like we should all get our own stuff, rather than giving a certain person an entire category like snack or cereal, since we all know what our families like."

"Ex-cuse me! Can you move?!" The group turned as a unit, wide eyes staring at the glaring woman. "Sorry," they chorused. "Don't you kids have anywhere else to hang out? You shouldn't stand around, wasting people's time." Bridget took a step forward, opening her mouth to give the woman a piece of her mind. Buck intercepted her, pasting a faux-genuinely apologetic smile on his face. "We're terribly sorry Ma'am. We weren't trying to inconvenience such an important person with out shopping. Please, go ahead. And again, terribly sorry."

The woman puffed her chest as Buck pulled the others away. "What was that?" Cooper asked. "'You kids need to find somewhere else to hang out.' What is that?" Bridget rolled her eyes. "Congratulations. You just met a wild Karen in her natural habitat," she deadpanned. Buck snorted. "What did you do to her that she backed off?" Jules asked.

Buck flashed them a cocky grin. "The great thing about bein' raised a southern con artist: knowin' how to deal with people nicely without them realizin' that they're bein' insulted." Jules raised her eyebrows at him. "You ever try and pull that on me?" Buck's grin got wider. "Over course not." "Hmm…"

Cooper scanned the shelves and found the oatmeal. "Can you grab two of whatever you get?" Buck asked from where he was rearranging the items in the cart. "I know your dad and Eugene share some brainwaves about that kinda stuff." Cooper laughed. "Sure thing."

Jules and Bridget surveyed the cereal. "Do you boys want cereal?" Cooper glanced over at them. "Uh, any chocolate ones? Trey really isn't icky, as long as it's chocolate." Bridget waved a box of chocolate o's at him and turned back to the shelves. "Buck," Jules called. "Buck!" He looked up from the cart. "Huh?" "Cereal?" "Uh, sure."

Jules looked at the Bridget with an 'is-he-serious' expression on her face. "Buck!" "Huh?" It took everything the girls had not to burst out laughing. "What kind of cereal?" Jules asked patiently. Buck kind of looked at them with a blank stare, before looking at the ground with the same expression. "Is he glitching?" Bridget whispered. Jules laughed and shrugged. "I have no idea."

Buck finally glanced back up. "Corn flakes or shredded wheat, I guess." Jules nodded. "Okay." When she turned back to the shelves, Bridget gave her a nudge. "Aren't you gonna ask why cereal preferences broke his brain?" Jules snorted. "Honestly, I'm not sure I wanna know." Bridget giggled as she grabbed a box of fruity cereal. Jules grabbed Buck's corn flakes and a box of honey-flavored balls.

Cooper and the girls converged at the cart. They started to dump their items when they heard someone behind them clear their throat. "What are you doing?" The three turned to see a large, bulky man with his arms crossed. "Uh, grocery shopping?" Bridget said, snark thinly veiled as she juggled the boxes of cereal in her arms. "Not in my cart you're not." "Your cart?" Jules asked.

"… What are y'all doin'?" Buck hollered from where he stood – beside their carts. Jules' eyes widened before she slapped on a smile. "I am so sorry. I thought this was our cart." "Uh-huh." "Sorry!" Cooper and Bridget chorused, the three ducking their heads and fast-walking away. Buck shook his head as they got closer. "Now I'm scared for when we get to the parking lot." "Just get your snacks," Jules grumbled. "If it helps, I completely knocked over one of those cardboard displays back in Odyssey," he offered. Jules gave him the smallest of smiles. "Thanks."

The aisle was – thankfully – clearing out some, and the teens were able to stand in front of the snacks unbothered.

Buck pulled out the list. "We can get basically anything we want, but we must get at least two out of the following: Tortilla chips, salted; Potato chips, salted; Eugene's veggie sticks; Some sort of pretzel," Buck read. Cooper reached for the Cheetos. "Trey eats these all the time," he said. Jules looked around and found the boxes of microwave popcorn, while Bridget scanned the shelves for the potato chips.

She grabbed three bags while Buck wandered off: a sour cream & onion, a barbeque, and a plain sea salt. Cooper took a bag of salt & vinegar chips. "My dad and I both like these," he justified as he grabbed the big bag. Buck trotted back over to them, bag in hand. "Eugene's weird veggie sticks," he said, nose wrinkled, as he placed it in the cart. Jules turned to him as she grabbed another bag of barbeque chips. "Did you grab anything for yourself?" Buck shook his head. "Mine's up with tortillas and pretzels."

Cooper gave one last glance at the potato chips before grabbing one of the carts. "Well, since that's all that's left for this aisle, we should just go ahead." Bridget snagged an extra-large bag of tortillas on their way to the pretzels. Buck and Cooper both reached for a bag of butter snap pretzels. "Mom," they said in unison.

Bridget's eyebrows rose as Buck's ears turned pink, and he turned back to the pretzels. He grabbed some sort of spicy pretzel bites and dropped them in the cart. "Next aisle," he mumbled, shoulders up to his ears. Bridget's eyebrows stayed raised as the embarrassed teen led the way out of the aisle.

A/N: Whew! We made it! Sorry it's been so long. Every time I tried to write I got interrupted by something. But the chapter's over now. Until next time!
