Ugh, life is just a little bit unorganized. I wanted to post a little something, just to show that yes, I am still on it, fear not! Tally ho!

The Uzumaki pack prepared dinner, as planned, and currently all were eating and chattering away in the large dining room. Itachi was talking with Sasuke and Naruto, Deidara was having a delightful time with Iwai, cradling him, talking in a bubbly way and basically just in awe with the little pup. Konan and Nagato just smiled as they answered Deidara's questions. Kimimaro was sitting with Kyuubi, animatedly talking with him while Kyuubi would often fork food into the small omega's mouth. The rest of the Uzumaki pack mingled with everyone else while Utakata watched the room silently from his spot near Sasuke.
Utakata took in the sight with fascination, though he wouldn't admit it. He was good at showing a stoic face and he was content to just watch the interaction. 'What a curious situation,' he thought to himself as he slowly cut his meat into smaller bite sized pieces. 'Two separate packs, with alphas mingling as if status doesn't matter, everyone eating at the same time, no hierarchy in place during dinner.' He slowly placed the piece of meat into his mouth, slowly savouring the flavour. He hadn't had meat cooked such as this. It burnt his tongue slightly since he was not used to the seasoning that Naruto had put on it.
"Am I late?" A new voice came into the dining room.
"Kakashi! Late as always!" Sakura chuckled out. "Come, come, there is plenty." She grabbed a plate and handed it to the silver haired wolf.
"Thanks! Don't mind if I do," Kakashi said, bowing his head slightly. "Thanks for the invite Naruto, don't know how long it's been since I've had a good meal." He made his way to the table. When he placed the food on his dish, he took a seat close to Utakata.
Utakata glanced at the older wolf, curious as to why the elder wolf would sit next to him. Kakashi just winked at him and started cutting up his food.
"Good to see you Utakata, how you doing thus far?" Kakashi asked out before shoving a fork full of food in his mouth.
Utakata pinched his lips in a frown, thinking about how to answer. He had spent enough time with this wolf to know that he was trusted by the two clans and he obviously cared for them. "It's… different." Was his determined response.
Kakashi shook his head in an excited nod. "Hmm, I hope that it's a good different," he chuckled. "But if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask anyone. Or even ask the ones you are most comfortable with." Kakashi smiled out as he shoved more food in his mouth.
Utakata took a bite of his food, his mind thinking for a moment. "Have they always been like–this?" He nodded his head in the direction of the group as he chewed.
"Hmm, well, this…as in together like this?" Kakashi asked as he looked about the room, bobbing his head at each individual and circling his head back to Utakata. Utakata just nodded. Kakashi put down his fork momentarily as he scratched his chin, thinking briefly. "Well, I guess so. Though the two packs only became closer when Naruto and Sasuke mated." He shrugged. "The two packs were allies for many years prior to that though, but not as close as they are now." He took another bite of food before continuing, Utakata did the same. "I get the feeling you didn't grow up in a pack?" Kakashi lowered his voice, not wanting to scare Utakata with questions that might make him uncomfortable.
Utakata dropped his lips in a sad frown and shook his head no.
"Well then, this must be very different indeed for you," Kakashi piped up. "Well, the two packs can definitely show you a cultural difference that's for sure. Just give them time, and yourself too, and see how they do things here. Both packs are very welcoming and I am certain you are more than welcome to stay as long as you want?" Kakashi looked over at Naruto then reached over to poke him.
Naruto looked over and grinned. "What's up Kakashi? Good to see you man! Eat! There's lots!"
"Thanks a bunch Naruto," he responded with a grin. "I was just telling Utakata here to take his time getting to know the rowdy bunch of you," he teased. Naruto just poked his tongue in response with a laugh. "But seriously, this," Kakashi nodded his head around, pointing to the group, "is rather new to Utakata, being as you know where he came from." Kakashi eyed Naruto with a serious look.
Naruto nodded his head, "oh yeah! Utakata, you're welcome to stay as long as you want! Get to know everyone, get to know what we do, and all that stuff!" Naruto waved to Utakata, bumping Sasuke's shoulder at the same time.
"Dobe, seriously, control yourself," Sasuke sputtered out while trying to munch on his potato. He rolled his eyes at his mate's apologetic look. He gave a small friendly smirk to Utakata. "Just watch out for mister clumsy here and you should be alright," Sasuke chuckled out as Naruto sputtered out some mumbled words in retraction.
Utakata watched the interaction between the mates with interest. He had never seen a pair act as they have. But not only them, the other mates as well. They all held some respect and equality with each other that was just simply intriguing. Even the Uchiha alpha's personality was unique. Utakata glanced over at the long black haired alpha who had wandered over to his blond mate to see the small pup. Though there was something about the Uchiha alpha that still made something deep within him rise to the surface and express unwelcome and fearful feelings but he managed to keep that darkness in control. It had not risen while he was surrounded by all these other members in this room and he suddenly wondered why but shook it off and continued to slowly watch and eat his dinner in the process.
~~later~~
"Can we talk briefly," Kakashi spoke to Naruto and Itachi while dinner was being cleaned up by the others. "And Sasuke too, unless you want to inform him later," Kakashi said while glancing over at Sasuke who was entertaining Iwai with Deidara while the others were chatting.
"Depends on what it is about?" Itachi added, with a raised brow.
"Just a discovery," Kakashi added.
Naruto just nodded his head and led the others to the other room, just outside of the kitchen. Kakashi closed the door quietly when the three were in the room.
Running a hand through his silver locks, "Sai's remains were found."
Itachi frowned and Naruto's jaw fell open.
"The team that was out looking for more evidence on Danzo and Orochimaru stumbled across the remains purely by accident," he sighed out, crossing his arms. "Just thought you would like to know."
Itachi pinched his lips in thought at the news, not sure how Sasuke may take this information. Certainly Sai was responsible for the shooting of Naruto and kidnapping of Sasuke, but he still wasn't the mastermind behind the scenes. But he may have had some important intel that could assist in bringing down Danzo and Orochimaru and what crimes towards beings they had both been a part of.
Naruto clicked his mouth shut and furrowed his brows. "What does this mean for the rest of the case Kakashi? Like, what can we do now to show what Orochimaru has been doing to others, like us? What's out there to stop him from harming any other wolves out there for his sick experiments?" Naruto's fists were clenched, thinking of the hideous things that were discovered at one of Orochimaru's many experiment labs. The memories Sasuke had and the trauma he endured while in the hands of a man who promised him something that could never be achieved. He clicked his head to the side when he felt a hand touch his shoulder.
Itachi gave Naruto a kind look and squeezed Naruto's shoulder. He could see the frustrations in Naruto as well feel his anger coming off the blond alpha. Itachi could sympathise with Naruto, both of them caring for Sasuke unconditionally and having dealt with the aftermath of Sasuke when finally being free of Orochimaru's grasp.
Naruto patted Itachi's hand giving a silent thank you before both looked over at the silver haired wolf once again.
Kakashi shook his head sadly. "Unless some serious evidence comes into light, I'm afraid there is nothing we can do." His eyes looked upon both alpha's sadly. "I'm just thankful that Sasuke escaped alive and is with family where he belongs. And I'm most pleased that you overcame your wounds too, Naruto." Kakashi gave a small smile towards the blond alpha.
The three didn't say anything for several minutes, all lost in their own thoughts on the history they all shared in some way when dealing with Orochimaru and Danzo. A knock on the door broke the air and Sasuke peeked his head into the room. He raised a brow in question at the three wolves that all turned to look at him, and were suspiciously silent. Shifting his eyes from his aniki, Kakashi and finally Naruto, he realised that something was amiss, especially since his blond mate's emotions were practically oozing off his face.
It was Kakashi that lifted his lips first with a smile. "Sasuke! Come in! We were just having a quick update meeting, but I'm finished now." He glanced over at Itachi who just nodded. "I am hoping to catch up with Utakata for a little bit before I go, so I'll just leave you all to it." Kakashi walked to Naruto and slapped his shoulder with a squeeze. "Thanks again for dinner Naruto, talk soon ne?" He then nodded at Itachi again before turning to leave the room, closing the door behind him.
"What's going on?" Sasuke asked sternly, suspicion in his voice as he glanced between the two most trusting alpha's he has ever known.
Naruto and Itachi looked at each other before Naruto gave a nervous grin and scratched at the back of his head. "Well, umm," he stuttered out.
Sasuke just stared down the blond alpha, waiting for an explanation.
"You see, well Kakashi was letting us, well no, he was informing us that–some news, he felt the need to–"
"Sai's dead," Itachi blatantly stated. Naruto snapped his head at Itachi, his mouth hanging open in shock at the statement. Itachi didn't look back, his eyes were focused on Sasuke.
Sasuke's brows rose slightly at the news. This certainly wasn't what he was expecting to hear.
"His remains were found, unexpectedly," Itachi finished.
"Hn," was all Sasuke could respond with.
Naruto stepped up and gathered up the stoic omega in his arms, kissing the top of his head. He just held him, not sure of what to say. He was pleased that Sasuke didn't remove himself from his embrace and allowed Naruto to hold him.
"What about Orochimaru then," Sasuke finally spoke out, pushing back from Naruto and looking between Naruto and Itachi.
"Without solid evidence that Orochimaru was behind Sai harbouring the silver in the bullets or holding you against your will," Naruto let out a sigh. "Then the council has nothing on him." Naruto frowned sadly when he explained it to Sasuke. It wasn't fair! The three of them knew what Orochimaru was capable of, they knew that Danzo had some hand in funding and using those experiments, but without solid evidence, it was just maddening! Naruto felt his hackles rise at the thought and clenched his fists.
"It doesn't matter now," Sasuke huffed out. "It's in the past, let it lie." Sasuke turned on his heel and headed towards the door. "If there is nothing else," he hesitated with his hand on the handle of the door. When there was no answer from either alpha, Sasuke hummed and left the room.
Both alphas just looked at the door before moving to leave the room. They really couldn't argue the fact that there really was nothing more to say.

It was a week before the Christmas Gala at the Uchiha manor and Itachi was ready to toss the whole idea out the window. To hell with his parents, his family, his hierarchy, and he felt he was almost to the point of saying to hell with him staying here. He was ready to take his mate, leave the manor and hide out the rest of the winter somewhere in the woods.
His mother was constantly moving about the manor, arranging details for the decorations, the food, the guest list and just a buzz of flurry. His father was holed up in the offices constantly. He was either on the phone regarding his billion dollar businesses, investments, trading, merchandise, all the things that Itachi really had no interest in.
Itachi was trying to avoid his parents as much as possible. Though he did meet with his father to discuss more information regarding the vampire clans. But there was just no more new information to share. The Uzumaki and Uchiha clans seem to have compiled their knowledge and they were both just left hanging. The only thing left that had some mystery was Utakata. But Itachi was patient. He knew there were secrets behind the wolf, the darkness was there within as well, but he wondered if Utakata even knew what it was.
He found himself rubbing his temples more often these past few days but he had to attend to his own clan needs.
One, being the club. He had not been attending as much as he used to in the past few months and he felt that he should drop in to see how things were going. Sure he hired a fine team to look after the place, but what type of business owner would he be if he couldn't strike fear into the employees on a regular basis? It was one thing that they feared when rumours circulated that he may show up at the club, but it was another sense of twisted joy he felt when he saw the fear in the eyes personally. He smirked to himself as he thought of the employees running about when they heard or saw him coming.
Second, he had his mate to attend too. With the new quest they are both taking head on as a mated couple to find medical reasoning as to why Deidara had not bore pups yet. He was impressed with Deidara being able to hide the stress that he was certainly feeling, but was proud that Deidara was able to keep himself busy around the manor being the perfect head omega that he was. Tsunade had yet to call them for a followup meeting, but he knew that she would be extremely busy as well, especially with the unfortunate news of Sai.
Deidara came sailing in, just as beautiful as ever and Itachi couldn't help but scent his approval at the omega. Deidara stopped in his tracks and gave Itachi an artful look when he caught the scent.
"Really 'un," Deidara huffed out but with mirth. "No time for that, let's get ready to go." Deidara sauntered over to the office desk, placing his palms on the large wooden desk and leaning forward.
Itachi just gave a smirk in response. His mate was always so damn cheeky, but he loved it.
"I've put your clothes out, I've come to pull you away." Deidara moved around the desk, dragging his fingers along the top of the cool wooden top of the desk. His eyes stayed focused on the alpha and Itachi's eyes followed his movements. Deidara inwardly smirked. He loved having the alpha's full attention on him. He stopped beside the overly lavish leather chair and turned it so he stood between his alpha's knees. His breath hitched when Itachi's hands were suddenly gripping his ass and jerked him forward. He quickly had to lift a knee between Itachi's legs onto the chair so he wouldn't tumble, but Itachi's nose was in the crook of his neck quickly.
"Tachi 'un, n-nghh…" Deidara breathed out when Itachi nibbled at his neck, his tongue kitten licking at their mated mark. "We– n-no time," Deidara whined out, but didn't fight back when Itachi pulled him onto his lap. Deidara could feel the hard confined cock beneath Itachi's pants. Guess there was a little time before they had to leave.
~~later~~
Deidara pulled Obito's hand through the club, pointing out various areas and explaining over the loud music areas of interest. Obito chuckled out when they would often be squeezing between bodies that were grinding and dancing around them.
Izumi had settled at one of the bars, nursing a drink and taking in the sight around her. Kisame and Hidan were moving about and checking the darkened corners to ensure no one was causing trouble. Itachi was behind the bar, checking supplies, moving between the bartenders that were working.
"So what do you think?" Itachi asked, moving to where Izumi was sitting from behind the bar. Itachi took a few sips from his tall glass and raised a brow at Izumi. Izumi just smiled and nodded her head.
"It looks very well put together," she finally responded. "It looks as if it is a very popular place for our kind." She glanced over at the dance floor, taking in the various people and werewolves that appeared to be enjoying themselves. "You've done well." She gave Itachi a smile and sipped at her drink again. Itachi nodded in response.
"Holy shit Itachi!" Obito's voice howled over the music. "What a great place!" His smile was wide and he waved his arm up before falling hard into the bar stool next to Izumi. Izumi giggled at Obito's antics. "I need a drink though! Dei was dragging me everywhere!" Obito chuckled.
"Speaking of such, where is–?" Itachi looked about the area.
"Something about checking on the stalls," Obito shrugged. "Said he would be back shortly."
Itachi pinched his lips before giving a sly smile. "Have something to drink, I'll go see what he is up to." Obito just shrugged at that comment and nodded his head in wanting a drink. Itachi turned and placed his hand on the shoulder of the closest bartender near him. The man turned and bowed his head. Itachi leaned in to whisper in the man's ear before the man responded with a yes and moved towards Obito while Itachi left the bar.
"So, do you have something in mind?" the bartender asked.
Obito tapped his chin briefly, looking as if he was in thought. "Not sure, what's your speciality?" Obito gave a cheeky grin and winked at Izumi. Izumi just rolled her eyes and looked out at the dance floor. Obito was always challenging others.
The man grinned and leaned in closer to Obito. "I'll ask you some questions, your answers will tell me your new favourite drink." The light brown eyes of the man sparkled with excitement.
"Damn! You're on!" Obito slapped his hand on the bar and laughed loudly.
"All right, now then," the man stood up and rubbed his chin. "You're favourite place as a child."
"The forests around my home!" Obito snorted out, keeping the answer simple.
"Favourite colour?" the bartender lifted a corner of his lips in a challenging smile.
Obito pointed at his shirt which was a deep colour of blue and huffed out. "I would have to say blue, obviously," he huffed out, trying to sound superior and Izumi made a scoffing noise beside him. He poked his tongue out at her.
"What would you rather be? A pirate or a ninja?" The light brown eyed man rubbed his hands together as if preparing himself for the challenge.
"Oh man, I would love to be a pirate!" Obito laughed loudly. He was beginning to see amusement in the questions.
"Okay, last question," the bartender mused. "Where would you like to go on a holiday?" He crossed his arms, giving Obito a smug look.
"Man, that would be Hawaii," Obito hummed out with a dreamy look in his eyes.
"Coming right up." The bartender began to grab various bottles, a tall glass with ice and made the drink. He placed a coaster in front of Obito before placing the drink before the alpha. He opened a small novelty umbrella and plopped it on the edge of the glass.
Obito hovered his head down, his eyes taking in the drink before him.
The concoction was a vibrant blue, the edges of the ice cubes could only be seen floating within. The colour was like the Caribbean ocean blue but cloudy as if someone had stirred the sand at the bottom but still an attractive colour that drew in a person's eyes. On the edge of the glass perched a slice of pineapple and a maraschino cherry, enhancing and complimenting the attractive blue liquid.
Obito gave the glass a sceptic look and glanced over at Izumi. Izumi just held a challenging smirk on her lips while she sucked her own drink through a straw. Obito pouted his lips at Izumi and then picked up the drink, taking a large gulp of it.
The bartender just snickered at Obito's brave attempt of taking such a large swallow. He waited with arms crossed and leaning against the back counter. The music was still thrumming a wicked beat, all colours beamed across the room and he waited and watched the alpha.
Obito placed the glass down slowly, his mouth moving slightly side to side, his eyes looking up and around as he thought about what he had tasted. He smacked his lips together when he swallowed the final bit from his mouth, his tongue poked out to trace his lips and he beamed a smile at the bartender. "That…was amazing!" Obito exclaimed through his smile. The beta bartender huffed out a smile in response when Obito picked up the glass and drank more. "And I believe you are right, this has to be a new favourite drink for me! Let's do it again!"
The bartender chuckled deeply and nodded. Let the games begin.
Sometime later Itachi returned with Deidara in tow, the couple looking flushed, yet glowing.
Izumi winked at the pair and Deidara blushed. It was no secret what the two had been up to. Izumi knew she was sporting a slightly reddened nose and blush across her cheeks. She had enjoyed a few drinks and some dances while Obito was playing at the bar with the bartender. She mingled with Kisame and Hidan as well, convincing them to dance with her once or twice. Overall she was having a good time, and for once it felt good to not have to worry about politics, military situations and schedules. She leaned sideways on the edge of the bar and finished off her ice water. She was no beginner to the effects of alcohol and knew better. But maybe not her fellow clansman…
"A-nudder!" Obito slapped his hand on the bar, somewhat clumsily. His head bobbed slightly with the impact and he ran a hand through his hair heavily.
Itachi raised a brow at the outburst of his cousin. Normally wolves weren't impacted so strongly with alcohol but it appears his cousin was feeling some effects. He slid up between Obito and Izumi, looking over Obito's appearance. Obito just grinned back at him.
"This 'tender is dah bomb cousin!" Obito exclaimed, his arm waving out towards the bartender. "Can guess everything about me!"
Itachi glanced over at the bartender who just shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "Just made him drinks boss," the bartender said.
"And man, just with a bit of q and a, he made me my new favourite drinks! Amazing!" Obito appeared star struck by the bartender, his eyes wide and all smiles. "He needs a raise or sumfin," Obito whispered out and nudged Itachi's arm.
"Indeed," Itachi hummed out. He turned to look at Izumi who just shrugged and smiled. Apparently she had no concerns with this bartender either. Itachi glanced back at the bartender, "a word please," his voice dripping with authority and wiggled his fingers for him to follow. Itachi walked away from the bar, heading to the back office, the bartender on his heels.
"Close the door please," Itachi called out without looking back when he stepped into his office. He turned and leaned against the front of his impressive desk and crossed his arms. The beta wolf bartender stood several feet away looking solid and confident, but Itachi could sense the nervousness. He inwardly chuckled. This type of behaviour always made his alpha preen at his ability to reek with authorization and intimidation.
"What was the situation that happened with my cousin?" Itachi's eyes were steady and focused on the beta wolf.
The beta wolf cleared his throat and scratched his cheek, his eyes flickering to the side in thought. "Well sir, he just asked for my speciality and I gave it to him." His eyes went back to Itachi who hadn't changed.
"Your specialty being?" Itachi prodded with an open ended question.
"I ask certain questions, the customer's answers give me the answer for what type of tastes that they may like." He gnawed on his bottom lip briefly. "Nothing more, and I made sure not to give him too much sir." Those light brown eyes showed no deception that Itachi could see.
"Sounds like an interesting gift," Itachi hummed. "I have a proposition for you." Itachi uncrossed his arms and placed them on the edges of his desk, his eyes never leaving the other. The beta stood straight and proud. "Our clan is having a gala next week and could use someone of your skills to handle the bar. Would this be something of interest? You do not have to agree, it is only an offer and I believe my cousin would most likely enjoy showing off your skills." Itachi's corner lip broke into a small smile but was turned slightly so the beta wolf wouldn't see it.
"Just bartending?" the beta wolf asked quietly. His lips were pinched together and he appeared to be in thought.
"Absolutely, and it will be at least two days, you will be offered accommodation if needed." Itachi tilted his head slightly, signalling he was waiting for an answer.
"I'm honoured you acknowledge my skills sir and would be honoured to serve at your event." The beta wolf nodded slightly and clicked his heels together.
"Excellent, thank you. I will give you the details a couple days before the event. Your tribal markings and piercings will be alright but it is a black tie event." Itachi circled his hand around his own face to emphasise to the beta that it was alright. The beta bowed a thank you. "You can return to your post," Itachi's voice was authoritative yet soft, showing his appreciation to the other wolf. The beta wolf bowed again and left the office.
Itachi let out an exasperated sigh and slouched against his desk. Just thinking of the gala made him exhausted, but if Obito's ramblings about how great the drinks were, perhaps this beta wolf would be entertaining to other members of the clan. He walked over to the filing cabinet in the far corner, pulling out the long drawer of files of his staff. Flipping through the folders he pulled out the one of the beta wolf he was looking for. Sitting at his desk, he settled into his chair, flipping open the folder and taking a look at the picture. The beta had been a casual worker for the club for several years. He reviewed the background information listed but not much was written there, which wasn't against the code of working, but experience had shown Itachi that usually no info meant an outcast, lone wolf or worst, someone in hiding. But Itachi had figured out long ago that this beta wasn't in hiding, he was most likely a long wolf searching for a pack, trying to find a place where he could belong.
Itachi rubbed his chin as a thought came to him. 'Should he prove himself, maybe?' His thoughts were interrupted when his mate came pushing through the door. He flickered his eyes up at the gorgeous omega as he sauntered towards him with a sultry grin on those pouty lips.
"Tachi 'un, I came to see why you are hiding," Deidara pouted out and he flopped himself on the desk, directly across from Itachi.
Itachi gave a smirk back at his mate. "Just dealing with a quick business situation love," Itachi purred out. Deidara pouted out more and let out a huff of annoyance that had Itachi's alpha purring loudly at the display presented at him. Itachi pushed the folder towards his mate, "tell me what you think of this beta? I asked him to bartend at the gala." Deidara popped up and flipped the folder around, taking a closer look at the beta's information.
Dragging up his eyes to the alpha from the folder, "this the one Obito going on about 'un?" His blond head tilted to the side in question, his long bangs covering his one side of face instantly and his pointer finger tapping at the picture in the folder.
"Hn," Itachi nodded.
Deidara pouted his lips out in thought and looked down at the folder. His head moved back and forth while his fingers flipped the couple pages. "Only worked with a few times 'un. Was always quiet, not really secretive, not overly chatty either but never got any negative vibes 'un." Deidara pushed the file back towards Itachi.
Itachi pulled the folder back towards him before leaning back in his chair. He pulled his fingers together, tapping each of his fingertips quickly, looking from Deidara to the folder a few more times.
"What cha thinking 'un?" Deidara stood up and moved around the desk, grabbing Itachi's hands, moving them around his waist before straddling the alpha's lap. Deidara began running his fingers through the alpha's long locks, humming lightly.
"He doesn't have a pack. If things go well, maybe?" Itachi held that statement open and looked up at Deidara who just blinked in surprise.
Deidara then chuckled. "Look at you, getting all soft in your old age," he teased and kissed Itachi's forehead when it wrinkled up in irritation. "Let's keep the option open by observing then 'un," Deidara whispered into Itachi's ear, nipping at the alpha's earlobe.
The alpha purred loudly and shifted his rapidly growing erection up into the warmth of his mate, making his intent not so subtle obvious to the other. Deidara gasped and giggled at the movement and lifted his eyes to look at the alpha, his cheeks were dusted red already and his eyes were dilated with desire. Itachi's alpha only purred loudly throughout his mind on how to take his mate. Fuck! Suddenly he was filled with thoughts of pushing into his eager mate. He quickly lifted Deidara up, slipped the folder to the side while placing his mate on the desk. Deidara was whimpering and panting, his scent growing strong each second that had the alpha start to go mad with lust. He glanced quickly at the picture of the beta in the papers before moving in on his mate, 'we shall see how this Yahi–.' His thought was interrupted aggressively when his mate yanked his hair. All thoughts were now only for the eager omega before him.
