Drunken Meet and Fierce Rivalry
"CHEERS!" Everyone clapped their cups together.
"Man, I have to say you guys did some serious work out that. Sure, we're not at the top of the scoreboard, but at least we're getting somewhere, right?" Cana complimented while drinking her booze.
"I think it would have been better if you weren't hitting every pub within walking distance." Elfman scolded.
"I did cheer for you guys. All the pubs have lacrima-vision, and the booze is a helluva lot cheaper!" Cana explained.
"Well, you can't blame a girl for doing her own thing while in the big city." Rouge chuckled.
"See, Rouge gets me!" Cana smirked before gulping down on a bottle.
"Less shouting, more drinking! We've got a great victory and defeat to celebrate here!" Makarov shouted drunken.
"Master's wasted." Levy commented.
"While our guild did get a victory in the battle round, team B also had a big lose and that really pisses me off." Gajeel clutched on his cup with his grip making a few cracks.
"Easy there, we'll get our chance on the next day." Laxus assured.
"And I'm going to get back at that Jura guy for hurting my Rouge like that." Shadow promised with a firm fist.
"My hero." Rouge kissed him on the cheek as he smirks.
"This has certainly been an eventful day, hasn't it?" Erza asked, sitting with Mira.
"No kidding, I think it's safe to say our work's cut out for us." Mira agreed.
"Tomorrow is gonna be more awesome than ever! I'll jump in there and set the scoreboard on fire!" Natsu volunteered to go next.
"That's right! Natsu is gonna burn some bodies!" Happy cheered.
"Guess I can't stop once you mind up your mind, then I'll cheer you on!" Lucy said and hug Natsu which made him smile.
"If Salamander's taking part, I might have to step in myself." Gajeel smirked.
"Talk about the perfect opportunity to show him the fruits of your labor." Panther Lilly said.
"How are you doing, Beloved Gray? Juvia didn't hurt you too badly during the game round?" Juvia asked.
"My body is fine, I'm sure you didn't hurt me too badly." Gray answered.
"Seeing you guys give those games your all was really amazing; I wish I could have participated in one of the teams." Wendy said before drinking her juice.
"Fear not, child, you will get your chance one day." Carla believed.
"The Grand Magic Games is super fun! I want to play in it too!" Asuka smiled.
"You'll have to wait until your older, sweetie." Alzack said.
"Listen up! Now that all of you brats are here, I'd like to make a toast!" Makarov raised his cup getting all the guildmates their attention.
"Today we may have gained a victory from one battle, but we also lost one from another battle. Do you know what that means, don't ya? Tomorrow, we climb to the top because Fairy Tail never backs down and we're not starting now! The greatest guild in Fiore is US!" Makarov declarfed as the guild cheers.
"Well, it looks like they're not letting one lost get them down." Jellal commented as he, Ultear, and Meredy walks in the bar.
"I always love seeing this guild so full of spirit." Meredy giggled.
"Indeed, it makes me want to celebrate for something too." Ultear nodded.
"Hey, is it really okay for you guys to be here?" Gray asked walking up to Crime Sorcière.
"Don't worry about it, this is one of those places that doesn't know much besides what goes on within the city. So, I believe it's safe to come in." Ultear said.
"Hope you don't mind if we join you guys for the celebration." Jellal said to Erza.
"Of course not, we wouldn't mind having more friends with us." Erza welcomed them to the party.
Everyone is having fun and playing some games, like Natsu challenging the others into an arm-wrestling contest as he won against Max and Lab as some of the guildmates are shocked to see that Natsu was able to close the seven-year-gap through three months of training (though they don't really know what happened during team Natsu's training days). Laxus tries to warn them not to cause damage though Gajeel just pats him on the head thinking the lightning dragon man is trying to be good for his grandfather, Makarov as Levy tries to pull him away. Freed didn't like that one bit and called out to Evergreen and Bickslow for assistance, but he became shocked when he saw them down and drunken as they were drinking with Cana.
"That girl sure knows how to drink and drink." Shadow commented, then notice someone approaching Cana and he is not a Fairy Tail member.
"Wait, is that…?" Shadow seemed to have recognize the guy.
"Now this looks like a party worth joining." The man chuckled.
"Oh, yeah?" Cana turned to the right getting a good look at the guy.
This new face is a tall, muscular, fair-skinned man with straight black hair, which is slicked back and gathered on the back of his head, where it is kept in a bun, hidden away by a white cloth with ruffled edges secured by a similarly colored strip. He has slanted eyes marked by dark lines, with black pupils circled by lighter irises, each bearing five irregular black forms below it (with the central pair of forms being larger than the three on the outsides), and which are topped by black, arched eyebrows. He also appears to possess sharp canine teeth. Hanging from his ears is a pair of light brown earrings, whose shape is reminiscent of a gourd; an object which is commonly employed to drink alcohol, and which Bacchus himself carries around for such a purpose. His Quatro Cerberus tattoo is located on the center of his muscular, exposed back. His outfit leaves most of his muscular torso exposed, instead covering his arms and shoulders with dark blue armor plates, which join on the upper part of his back and are topped by a wide, arched armored collar in correspondence to his nape. Covering his legs is a very baggy pair of dark pants, which ends below his knees (where it gets tighter) and sports large, light motifs reminiscent of flames on the legs' outer edges, and circling his waist is a light sash tied on his left hip, with its long edges left hanging. For footwear, Bacchus dons dark, plain Chinese-looking shoes with light soles.
"How about a couple drinks to pass the time?" The man said with a glass cup of booze on the table.
"So, we're skipping the introductions and going straight to the fun part? You got something ta prove, do ya?" Cana interested as she has been challenged to a drinking contest.
"Hey pal, take some free advice and walk away." Marco warned.
"Her alcohol tolerance is about as strong as her daddy!" Wakaba warned too.
"(They have no idea who they're messing with.)" Shadow thought.
(Over Several Cups of Booze Later)
Most of everyone in Fairy Tail could not believe their eyes, Cana has always been known as the ultimate drinker when it comes to alcohol and never lost a drinking contest to anyone even to those outside of her guild, but that all changed when Cana is now seen on the floor with her eyes dizzy and more drunken than before while the guy who challenged her is still standing.
"Guess Cana met her match." Rouge surprised.
"Bacchus has always been more of a drinker like that." Shadow mentioned.
"So, you know him?" Rouge asked.
"More or less." Shadow said.
"Thanks for the trophy, hot stuff!" Bacchus walked away weirdly while swinging Cana's bra he took.
"Do you have a death wish?" Marco asked.
"If Gildarts finds out, he's gonna be pissed!" Wakaba said.
"No wait, he's deader when he's drunk!" Shadow tried to warn them.
But it was too late as Marco and Wakaba attack Bacchus though the drunken man just fell forward on the floor and then bounce backward slamming the two old men down making crackers and cracks around them.
"Whoa, did you see that?" Meredy shocked.
"That man is stronger than he looks." Ultear said.
"Is that you, Bacchus?" Erza surprised to see a familiar face.
"Well, well, if it isn't Erza Scarlet." Bacchus smiled and hiccups.
"Still a drunk." Erza commented as she can smell the alcohol breathe.
"And when I'm sober, you'll still be smoking hot." Bacchus flirted.
"I see you still try to flirt girls with that breathe of yours." Shadow said walking up to him.
"Wow, the edge lord himself! Two of my old acquaintances under the same roof, now this feels like a reunion." Bacchus laughed a little.
"Hold on, you two know this guy?" Lucy asked surprise.
"Erza, I heard you'd gone into hiding or was in a coma a while back. It seems like such a shame, but Shadow here has been keeping me entertain while you were gone." Bacchus explained.
"Erza's situation is more complicated, I told you that." Shadow reminded him.
"And I heard you're actually competing in the magic games." Erza mentioned and Bacchus laughs.
"At first, I was just using this trip as an excuse to get hammered and sample the local color. But after watching Warcry make a fool out of himself and our guild, my manly spirit got thirsty for vengeance. So, I'm entering the games as a reserve member and I plan to cause all kinds of trouble!" Bacchus explained before he hiccups.
"Then I hope that motivation strived you into getting serious." Shadow advised.
"Oh, believe me, Shadow. My soul is shaken and stirred." Bacchus said as he walks away.
"I'm not sure which one I want fight first but looking forward to our own little party in a battle round. It'd be nice to settle the score with Erza, and to get a win from Shadow." Bacchus mentioned before he stops.
"You know what we say in our guild. You will always be…" Bacchus looked back at Shadow and Erza.
"Wild." They said together with deadpan expressions.
"At least you two are still good for a chuckle!" Bacchus laughed, waling out of the bar. With some crashing sounds along the way.
"Who was that walking distillery?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah, you make it sound like he's really strong, Erza." Meredy said.
"That's because he is, up to Erza's level." Jellal revealed, shocking some.
"Yes, he's a member of Quatro Cerberus, he's one of their S-Class wizards. I've run into him on jobs more than a few times over the years, and I know his strength all too well as Jellal said, our strength is considered equal." Erza explained.
"His title is Drunken Hawk Bacchus, master of the Drunken Chop-Hanging Palm and his skills are something to be feared, especially when he's drunk." Shadow mentioned.
"I heard rumors that Erza and Bacchus have fought on many occasions, and neither of them have won over the other." Jellal remembered the stories he used to hear back then.
"What? You mean he's as strong as you?" Lucy surprised.
"I'm surprise you even know Bacchus as well." Erza said to Shadow.
"I met him when I went on my second quest mission sometime after I joined Fairy Tail, he was causing a ruckus in a bar and I tried to stop him. Before I knew it, we ended up fighting and destroyed the whole bar along with a couple of buildings before I put him down." Shadow explained, remembering the first time he met Bacchus.
"From the way he talks about getting a win in, I take it you two fought each other more." Rouge guessed.
"We have. We encountered each other several times for the past months and whenever we fought, it would be intense to most and I always win in the end but even I must admit that his fighting style and strength is something I have to be very careful with." Shadow confessed.
"No way, that Bacchus guy is that strong?" Happy shocked.
"What's it matters? There's no way Erza would lose to him once they fight, and Shadow can kick his ass too." Natsu believed while fighting with Gray.
"Who said Erza or Shadow are even gonna fight him, nerd?" Gray pointed out that they might not even in the battle round today.
"If they won't then I call dibs on him!" Natsu declared wanting to fight that Bacchus guy.
"Natsu, would you and Gray stop fighting each other." Lucy exclaimed.
(With Carla and Porlyusica)
"Thank you for seeing me even though it's late." Carla thanked the medical advisor of Fairy Tail.
"I was very concern about this vision you mentioned, now tell me what was in that vision." Porlyusica said.
"It was confusing because it was only bits and pieces. They're never very clear." Carla explained before recalling the vision.
"There was a white knight, an enormous magic circle." Carla said.
"Can you recall any more?" Porlyusica asked.
"I saw something that defied all reason." Carla said as her eyes are filled with fear.
"What do you mean by that?" Porlyusica asked, wondering what is this terrifying fate, Carla saw in her vision.
"…I saw Mercurius come crashing down and as it happened, I thought I heard someone singing. Lucy." Carla answered.
"That is troubling. Have you told anyone about this yet?" Porlyusica asked.
"No, I'm not sure whether this fate will happen or not and I'm scared if it will happen." Carla admitted as Porlyusica look at the white cat girl with slight concern in her eyes.
(The Next Day)
"It's day two of the Grand Magic Games and the stands are exploding with excitement!" Chapati announced as the crowd cheers loudly.
"Joining me once again is Mr. Yajima, and our new special guest, Sorcerer Weekly's Jason!" Chapati introduced.
"So cool!" Jason excited.
"Let's get back to the action already in progress, as our wizards take on the Chariots!" Chapati revealed today's challenge.
(With the Contestants on the Chariots)
"The point of this game is to reach the final goal without falling off. Simple, right? Wrong!" Chapati said.
The scene the large chariots moving together as they are chained to each other and moving through the streets of the capital.
"The chariots are constantly in motion and though it's a snail's pace, one false move could cost you the race." Chapati explained.
"Which team will survive this rough and tumble sight-seeing tour through Crocus and be the first to cross the finish line?" Chapati asked as the crowd are seeing this with the lacrima-vision screens.
"For those of you here with us at Domus Flau, we'll be showing the race in crystal clear lacrima-vision!" Chapati mentioned.
"Cool!" Jason excited.
(Back at Domus Flau)
"You've seen a lot in your days, but would you have ever predicted anything remotely like this?" Chapati asked the elder chef.
"Well…" Even Yajima doesn't know what to say in this.
"Remind me exactly why did we let him go on this challenge?" Shadow asked his team in slight anger.
"I've been wondering the same thing." Gray sighed.
"Yeah, you'd think the name "Chariots" would be a big clue, even for Natsu." Lucy pointed out.
"He was absolutely insistent on participating." Erza said.
"What? Did he think he was gonna fight some people riding chariots around him or something?" Shadow wondered what is really going on inside Natsu's head.
Team Fairy Tail A look back at the lacrima-vision seeing their Fire Dragon Slayer struggling to move.
(With Natsu)
"Uh-oh, I don't know what's wrong with Fairy Tail A's Natsu, but he can barely put one foot in front of the other!" Chapati said.
Natsu wanted to take on one of the challenges to get more points for this team, but his cursed motion sickness is preventing him from getting off the chariot he is currently on.
"But that's not all! Mere feet away are Fairy Tail B's Gajeel, and Sabretooth's Sting, who seem to be in the same boat." Chapati mentioned.
True to his words, both Sting and Gajeel are suffering from the same extreme motion sickness within the race.
"Wh-Why am I feeling sick?" Gajeel asked groaning.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
The second day of the Grand Magic Games have started though it looks like three certain Dragon Slayers are having hard time catching up to the other contestants, and not feeling so good either. Bet you all weren't expecting that Shadow knows Bacchus like Erza does but unlike her, Shadow have fought and defeated Bacchus which only fuels him to defeat the Ultimate Lifeform more.
