One of the advantages of having 'connected' friends is that they had access to last minute tickets to concerts on the strip. Before their week began, Grissom had reached out to Catherine and let her know that they decided to see Vegas in a new light playing tourists for the week. Catherine had thought it was a fabulous idea and had tried to set them up with a hotel which Grissom had politely declined. Catherine however insisted on helping him secure tickets to a concert or show.

"I appreciate the help Catherine, but only if I can pay for the tickets."

"You are stubborn Gil Grissom. Sara's equally as stubborn. Match made in heaven as far as I'm concerned."

"Very funny. I'm serious though. If you find tickets, let me know and I'll give you my credit card."

Catherine had called him back a few hours later and let him know that she had secured a pair of second row seats to the sold out Rod Stewart concert. Gil was skeptical that the tickets really cost $100 each but Cathrine insisted she was telling the truth and he didn't want to argue.

So this is how they found themselves on a Thursday night headed to Caeser's Palace to see the show. When Grissom had told Sara about the tickets she had told him that she wanted to surprise him with reservations for dinner somewhere near the concert venue.

Sara had settled on The Palm restaurant located within the Forum Shops, a five minute walk from the coliseum. Normally a steakhouse would be last on her list but she'd heard they served some of the best steaks in Vegas and she wanted to do something nice for Gil. She couldn't imagine the last time he had a nice steak, especially living on a boat. She had seen salad and seafood on the menu and since she still occasionally ate fish, Sara was certain she could find something to eat.

She had also snuck out of their room for a bit saying she was heading to the coffee shop. She really went to find a new outfit to wear to the show. Sara wasn't normally the type to dress up but Gil had gone the extra mile this week so she wanted to put more thought into what she wore.

Later that night Grissom was in their suite's living area reading The Times when Sara exited their bedroom, dressed and ready to go. He didn't look up at first but when he did, he was ready to cancel their plans and stay in.

Sara was dressed in skin tight black faux leather pants. She was wearing a deep red silk camisole with a matching black jacket on top. The look was topped off with back heeled boots which made her impossibly long legs look even longer. Grisosom had to remind himself to breathe as he slowly raked his eyes over her.

Sara did her best not to blush but secretly delighted in the fact that the outfit was a success. Judging by the way he was squirming in his seat and the fact that his eyes were now nearly navy in color, she knew she'd been right to go shopping.

"So our dinner reservations are for 6:30 and the show starts at 8. It's only a five minute walk through the Shops to the coliseum so I think we should have enough time," Sara said as she reached for her purse.

When she turned back around she noticed that he had yet not moved out of his seat.

"You ok?" She asked, now slightly concerned with his lack of speech and movement.

Coming out of his stupor, he slowly rose from his seat before coming to stand in front of her. He ran his fingers through Sara's silky tresses that she'd let curl before leaning in to kiss her throat and lovingly nip at her ear causing shivers to course down her spine.

"You my dear, look ravishing. So much so that we may need to rethink this whole concert idea."

It took every ounce of self control that Sara possessed not to give in.

"Gil, I promise I will make it up to you when we get back. Right now your dinner surprise awaits and I'm really looking forward to the concert," she said with a mock pout on her face.

While Sara had attended some concerts in her youth she didn't attend many after moving to Vegas. At first she was too busy wrapped up in her work to bother or care and then she was too depressed over feeling like she may have made the wrong choice in Vegas and Gil that she didn't venture out much. Once her and Gil started dating they kept most of their dates on the downlow which precluded such public outings. But when they were living in Paris they made nights out a regular part of their routine and she was looking forward to seeing Rod Stewart as she'd heard he put on a fantastic show.

As they walked hand in hand through the hotel, Grissom noticed that all eyes were on Sara. How could they not be? To quote Greg from a decade ago she was 'smoking hot!' Of course Sara was as per her usual, totally oblivious to all this which made her even more attractive. In Vegas beautiful women were a dime a dozen but most flaunted their sexuality which for Grissom was a major turn off. Even his dear friend Catherine fell into that category. Sara however was always the opposite. He remembered the first time they had an argument about him being jealous.

"Gil, are you jealous of Officer Tanner?" She said while stowing their kits in the back of the Denali before seating herself on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Grissom who closed his door with more force than necessary, mumbled a hurried no before starting the car all the while making sure not to make eye contact with Sara.

"You ARE jealous! This is so ludicrous! First of all you have absolutely nothing to be jealous about. You know I love you and will never be interested in anyone else. Besides, he's new to the force and just being friendly. I can assure you there are much more beautiful women in the department for him to ogle over."

Grissom could tell that Sara truly believed this about herself and somehow this annoyed him even more.

"Don't do that," he said in a voice near a growl.

"Don't do what?" She challenged, suddenly defensive at his tone.

"Don't put yourself down like that. Have you really no idea how incredibly beautiful you are?"

"Gil, you're just biased."

"That may be but surely more than half the men in the department aren't biased?"

"How so?"

"Sara, do you not see how Greg pines for you and he's just one example. After you first started working here I had to make sure the door in the stall of the men's room was replaced because of some not so appropriate graffiti written about our newest female CSI."

Sara was loath to believe him until she looked and saw how serious and sincere he was, tamping down her response.

"Sara, I understand why our relationship has to be this way. I love working with you as much as I love living with you but that doesn't mean I can't hate the fact that I am unable to shout from the rooftops that you're MY girl!"

"So if you could, you'd go all caveman and throw me over your shoulder and drag me back to your lair in front of everyone?" She said with a smile. She too understood, harboring conflicted feelings as she'd wanted on more than one occasion to tell a woman like Sofia he was off the market.

Grissom smiled before responding.

"Yes, but I guess I'll have to settle for dragging you into our bedroom later."

Sara felt the heat rise in her cheeks before playfully smacking his arm.

"Not fair Gil, not fair."

While Grissom had never been big on public displays of affection, he couldn't help but keep Sara within reach at all times. This time their relationship was out in the open. Everyone would now know that she was taken and that he was one lucky son of a bitch.

While waiting for the elevator that would lead to the walkway to the Forum Shops, Sara asked him if he was ok, noticing how quiet he'd become.

"You sure you're ok tonight?"

"Never better dear. I'm just glad I can let Vegas know the most beautiful woman in the world is with me tonight."

While Sara would never fully believe she was as beautiful as Gil said, he did make her feel beautiful in ways no one else ever had.

"Ok smooth talker. Keep it up and see where it gets you," she said with a smirk.

"Oh I intend to," he whispered huskily into her ear.

Sara willed her body not to react as the elevator doors opened.

After reaching the Forum Shops, they strolled through doing a little window shopping till they reached The Palm Restaurant.

"We're eating here?" Grissom questioned. He knew they served some of the best steaks in Vegas but he also knew that Sara wouldn't be eating one.

"Is that ok?" Sara said, suddenly worried about her choice.

"Sara, this is more than ok. But I just want to make sure it's ok for you."

"Don't worry Gil. I wanted you to have a chance for a nice steak. I imagine it's been awhile since you've had one."

Sara was right, it had been awhile and Grissom's mouth was watering at the thought.

Sara wound up ordering a Caesar salad to start and went with a salmon dish for dinner. Grissom started with the lobster bisque soup before ordering a mouthwatering 12 oz filet.

They split a piece of decadent chocolate cake for dessert before making their way into the hotel and toward the coliseum where the concert was taking place.

They passed through security and were escorted to their seats in the second row, right off the aisle.

"Gil, these seats are fantastic. I can practically reach out and touch the stage. Please tell me you didn't spend a fortune on these."

"Scouts honor," he said, holding up 3 fingers, with a smile on his face.

"You were never a boy scout," Sara said, trying not to smirk.

"My dear I assure you I did not spend a fortune. Actually Catherine helped secure the seats. I gave her my credit card and while I'm still not sure I was charged correctly they were much less than I was expecting."

"Ok. I mean I appreciate everything you've done this week and I love our suite but I don't need you to spend all this money on me. It's nice, but not necessary," she said seriously.

"Ah my dear but that is precisely why it is a necessity. You deserve to be spoiled, especially since you never ask to be."

Grissom had always felt like he'd never done enough to show Sara what she meant to him. This week in a small way helped him correct that wrong.

Sara leaned over to kiss him before the curtain rose and the concert started.

The concert was in full swing and Sara was having a ball. Dancing to nearly every song. Rod Stewart was quite the performer and had the whole theater on their feet.

When the first strains of Have I Told You Lately That I Love You started playing, Grissom wrapped his arms around Sara as they started to gently sway to the music.

Have I told you lately that I love you

Have I told you there's no one else above you

You fill my heart with gladness

Take away all my sadness

Ease my troubles, that's what you do

Grissom quietly sang along with the song in Sara's ear, nearly bringing her to tears.

There's a love that's divine

And it's yours and it's mine

Like the sun

And at the end of the day

We should give thanks and pray

To the one, to the one

"You know I'd nearly given up on God and miracles. I was a fool and because of it I'd lost the only person I'd ever loved. But then I looked up and there you were, a living breathing miracle. My mother always told me as a boy, miracles happen when you least expect them. I thank God everyday I get a second chance at loving you. There is no greater gift on this Earth."

As Sara leaned back into Grissom's chest, she couldn't help the silent tears that started to fall. While Sara herself wasn't sure where she stood on the God and miracles thing, she did know that it was no accident that the camera had still been recording when Gil spoke to Heather.

The next few songs were rock songs that had everyone dancing in the aisles. When the first few guitar riffs for Hot Legs started playing Grissom whispered in Sara's ear,

"Look, it's your theme song."

This caused Sara to giggle.

Rod had just come back on stage after a wardrobe change when he picked up the microphone swaying to the beat. Before he started singing he looked out at the audience and paused as he looked in Sara's direction.

"Ain't them a set of hot legs if I've ever seen them," he said with a whistle.

"You do realize you're one lucky bastard eh mate?" He said to Grissom.

Sara's face was beet red as Grissom replied,

"Extremely lucky."

Once Sara got over her mortification, she began singing and dancing to the music again.

While Sara would have preferred not to be complimented so publicly, she did have a fantastic time and was glad they'd come.

When the concert ended they walked hand in hand through the hotel and back through the Forum Shops on their way back to The Bellagio.

"Thank you Gil, I really had a fantastic time tonight," she said as they exited the elevator onto their floor.

"I'm glad. You deserved it. Now if memory serves me correctly I was promised a little something on our return," he said with a salacious raise of his eyebrows.

"Hmmm I'm having trouble recalling that promise. Maybe I'll remember in the morning," she said with a fake yawn as they entered their suite.

Gil momentarily froze with disappointment until he saw that Sara was teasing him.

"You my dear are a tease," he said with a growl as he leaned in to kiss her.

"No, not a tease," she said, running her fingers through the curls at the back of his neck.

"Just the hottest legs in Vegas," she said with a giggle as she wrapped her legs around Grissom's waist. He too started laughing as he carried her off to their bedroom.

Love really is a beautiful thing and that is a miracle.

A/N: I have been to several Rod Stewart concerts in Vegas and I've seen him call out concert goers before like he did to Sara in this chapter. So it really is a thing :)
