Chapter 2: Interrogation
When Harlor woke up, he found himself in a dimly lit room. It looked to be made of the same not-stone that the building in the woods was, but it had a door with bars, which was made with metal. He found himself tied to a metal chair with rope.
He wasn't thinking all too clearly, and his head was pounding.
He blinked, and in a puff of smoke, there stood a man who was at least 6 foot 3, with a long coat reaching his calves, weird boot-sandals and bandages covering his lower legs, dark purple shirt and pants, and one of those cloth strips with the metal plates covering the top of his head. His face had a collection of scars on it, which just added to the intimidation factor coming off of him in waves. The vibe that man was putting off… Harlor was sure that it would make anyone's skin crawl. It was so potent, he could almost taste it.
Then, someone else came in. He had long, ashy-blonde hair, set in a ponytail, one of those headbands, a black outfit with one of those coats with no sleeves, and the weird boot sandals with bandages. He had strong facial features; those, along with the blonde hair and eyes, set Harlor's teeth on edge. He looked so much like a Nord that Harlor started to fear for his life.
Then, the blonde started to whisper to Harlor's assumed captor. The scarred man nodded, and looked back toward Harlor. He then went over, and undid the Snow Elves ropes with a dagger. The blonde said to him, "Come. The Hokage wishes to speak to you."
'The who? What was a Hogake?' Not wanting to anger them and have his life end, Harlor stood up stiffly, and walked over to the man. The blonde put metal chains around his wrists, a blindfold over his eyes, and walked him around the building. He did so many turnarounds and backtracks that Harlor wasn't sure what was left or right, or even up and down.
When they entered a room, the door slammed shut, causing the young Snow elf to jump. His blindfold was removed, and when Harlor turned around, the almost-nord wasn't there. Then, a puff of smoke caught the elf's attention.
He turned, and saw a man who appeared to be nearing or in his 70's or so (it was so hard to tell with these humans, how they managed to survive with such short lifespans was beyond Harlor and most elves), with a white robe, a pointy hat that was red with a symbol that looked like a… tree? The two branches were off of it, though.
The man also had two people standing beside him, with black garments, and animal masks with greatswords strapped to their backs. A bird, and a bear. Before he could blink, the masked people were standing beside him. One of them said, "Make any move to harm the Hokage, and your life will be forfeit. Understood?" Harlor nodded slightly.
The old man - the Hokage, he presumed - was smoking a pipe. He then took a seat at a table, and motioned Harlor to do the same. The Falmer saw no way out of this, so he complied. "Let's start with the basic questions: Who are you, and, what are you?" Harlor looked at the man, his pale blue eyes slightly widened. "M-my name is Harlor. I am a Falmer."
The man raised an eyebrow. "I… see. Now… what is a… fal-mer?" Harlor drew a breath, then said, "A s-snow elf." "Tell the truth. Elves are the make of children's tales."
The man's statement drove a searing ember into Harlor's heart. "B-but I am telling the truth. As Auri-el is my god, this is the truth!" "Who is Auri-el?" Harlor made one final attempt. "Y-you might know him as… Alkosh? No… Akatosh. The dragon god of the sun and time? Chief of your nine divines?"
Every word coming out of Harlor's mouth only seemed to confuse the old man further. "What in the name of the Shinigami are you talking about?" "I-I'm sorry, the what?" The old man stood up abruptly. "Hokage-sama?" The bird one asked. "I'll be right back. Make sure he doesn't move." He then disappeared in a puff of smoke. "Wh-what was that?" The bear masked one snapped at him, saying, "Silence." Harlor shut his mouth.
Less than a minute later, the almost-nord was back, his face grim. He looked at Harlor, sat down at the other end of the table, and did some weird hand movements. The last thing he saw was blackness.
