It was snowing at the train station, the Blythes were there. Anne and Gilbert had their eyes full of hope, Jem and his siblings were so happy. It felt like the cold snow couldn't touch them.
Walter decided to come home for Christmas. They've spent all summer and fall sending letters to eachother. He was scared, he had changed and what if his family doesn't recognise him anymore? No, that was impossible, the bond Rilla and him had was stronger than his look. His family would've recognise him.
When he arrived at the train station he felt relieved. He got down the train and as soon as he turn his head he saw his family. His mom's red hair that weren't as bright as Jem's anymore. His dad's soft smile, his siblings' eyes filled with joy. They started moving forward and he finally felt safe. Jem was the first one who hugged him, they held on thight and none of the wanted to separate. He then went to his parents and to his siblings. None of them coul'd stop smiling, he was finally home.
"So" Nan asked "You can speak French?" Walter laughed, oh, he missed laughing "I already knew French, we're Canadians, you forgot?" "Yeah but their French is different" "Oiu je parle francais" "Wow"
"Walt!" Jem had reached him "I wanted to tell you something, well, you already know I'm marring Faith, and while we wait for the date we live separately and I still sleep at home, so I hope it wont be a problem if we sleep in the same room." Walt smiled "That's not a problem, I've missed your snoring, I was living alone, out there, it won't be a problem. Congratulations by the way. How's Faith? Is she doing alright?" "Yeah she's doing fine, like Carl and Jerry. You probably know that Jerry wants to marry Nan and Rilla is actually dating Kenneth. Shirley had some girls but no one was serious. Bruce has grown up and is a beautiful strong boy, the all Meredith family's doing fine. Mom already planned a dinner with them, to reunited." "I totally forgot you were such a gossip queen. But you forgot about-" "Una, I know, I wasn't sure if you wanted to hear about her." "I do, I want to hear" "She's not doing fine, since the letter we recived that told you died, Rilla said, I wasn't here to comfirm. She's alone, she tried dating some boy but, it's simple, they weren't you."
Jem looked at his brother wondering what happened to him, he was looking for the little kid he thought how to tie his shoe laces. Where did he go?
