Draco: NEW EDIT: Kalosian notes are now complete, by virtue of the fact that I am finally getting off my ass. END NEW EDIT

Xerneas | Flowing Life
Serena: It is said that the wars of ancient Kalos only became as violent as they did because the magic of Flowing Life would wash across their combatants whenever they grew weary, giving them new strength with which to clash. Crafting forests to hide itself, Xerneas takes the form of a petrified tree for a millennium to recover its strength. When driven to show its true power, its antlers are decorated with a blinding, rainbow light.
Rita: Not only does Xerneas empower life, but it also makes an effort to preserve life - to the point of risking its own to avert disaster. In the event that it is awakened before it has fully recovered, it limits its exertion as best it can while still doing what needs be done, and promptly returns to slumber as soon as it has the opportunity.

Yveltal | Hatched Destruction
Serena: When the battlefields of ancient Kalos were adorned in dead, it is said that Hatched Destruction cast its wings across the corpses and took what energy remained in their bodies to give strength to its own. Burying itself deep in a mountain range, Yveltal contains itself in an egg of sorts when weak, regressing to an infantile mindset over the course of a thousand years. Woe betide those who harm it in anything but self-defense.

Zygarde | Earthen Order
Serena: Zygarde is responsible for maintaining the ecosystem of the region in which it dwells. Its body consists of numerous individual 'cells', commanded by a select few 'cores' which serve as its primary thought centers. Because of the multiplicity of its cores, it can manifest as multiple entities at once - and to better manage its cells, it possesses multiple Formes it can take as the need for each arises. Zygarde generally limits itself to one of two Formes if the situation allows - a small canine Forme with great speed, and a sizeable serpentine Forme for effective defenses. Should situations become critical, it will shift unto its strongest, humanoid Forme, and woe betide what means to stand in its way thereupon.

Diancie | The Precious Jewel | The Diamond Princess
May: I think I've heard that name before. Yeah... the servants of some rich kid were asking around about something like that recently. They had a Mega Stone. I think they said 'Diancite'. Something about unparalleled beauty, anyway.
(Okay... | ~Cynthia)
Serena: The Diamond Princess is... odd among legendary Pokémon in many ways. Her genetic makeup is nearly identical to that of the common Kalosian Carbink, yet she is above and beyond the more populous species, in both appearance and combat capabilities. The most probable theory is that Diancie is a... mutation of a Carbink, consequent of circumstances that happened to end in the most fortunate matter possible. Compounding the confusion is the existence of a type of Mega Stone that is capable of inducing Mega Evolution in the Princess and not her subjects, which raises the question of what exactly causes the reaction between Mega Stone and Pokémon.
(You're asking the wrong Champion | ~Cynthia)
Rita: Diancie comes across as eager to make a spectacle. Given sufficient inspiration, she'll take massive crystals the size of the Colossus, and illuminate them with such brilliance that they'll look like straight-up diamonds - even if they were just bog-standard amber when she started. The Precious Jewel is deeply respected by her lessers, and she does them well - like a good princess, I suppose.

Hoopa | The Mischievous Djinn
Serena: In theory, most Pokémon of myth that would NOT join a Trainer's team in a strictly voluntary manner could conceivably be battled and caught as any other Pokémon. The Mischievous Djinn is possibly the only legendary Pokémon that would not obey his Trainer afterwards. This bloody prankster takes amusement from nothing so much as delivering panic and terror to humans and Pokémon alike. Whether it be from abruptly transporting them elsewhere, or facing them in a battle worthy of nothing so much as Distortion, he will laugh on seeing the reactions of his victims. Fortunately, his capabilities are most commonly limited. Unfortunately, it is incredibly obvious when they are not, and he will exploit a moment's opportunity to wreak havoc upon whoever is in range.

Volcanion | The Armament of Steam
Serena: Anyone who has stirred pasta in a tall, narrow pot, and accidentally gripped the stirring implement a little too far down the shaft, is familiar with the sensation of being burned by steam - pleasant warmth and surrounding moisture for a respectable period, and then all of a sudden it hurts as the scalding kicks in. Volcanion's body is designed to cause that in whatever it's facing. The steam it propels from its cannons seems harmless until it makes contact, and by the time its opponents take it seriously, the Armament has already reloaded.
(I'm mildly distressed by your choice to use a firearm metaphor to describe a legendary Pokémon | ~Cynthia)
Draco: I know Shauna said 'cocoon', but Yveltal is avian in body and nothing can tell me that that is not an egg.
I have a Diancie, though I have yet to make use of a Diancie. I do not have a Hoopa, and I believe I pointedly missed my chance to get a Hoopa. About which I am quite pissed, to be honest. I have not yet had a chance to obtain a Volcanion. Consequently, this page will remain in an incomplete state until I have found a way to Distort occurrences in Kalos for a personal headcanon. One of them will have something to do with that creepy cave east of the League, I am convinced.
NEW EDIT [RE-EDITED]: I'm finally coming back on this one, and updating it up to Galar. Updated canon will be provided at the bottom end of the Alola chapter. END NEW EDIT
