DDLC: New Arrival takes from Doki Doki: Blue Skies and Doki Doki Purist Mod, As well as the base game (obviously). This story's backstory will all be revealed as it progresses, and whatever story/plot there will be hard to find among the slice-of-life comedy hijinks. This is an early document that mostly explains the start of the world and its main characters! Though anyone reading this has most likely heard of most characters and their stories in the game, I took a few creative liberties in that… well… I don't want any people in my stories to have any exit music. Anyway, here's a quick summary of the world and characters, as if you went to their school.

The Setting

This story is set in America, but a bit different than normal. For starters, you now start school at seven, so the normal age/grade ratio goes up by two. I originally planned for eight, but that's too much of a stretch. The time at the start of the story is September 2019. The school is named Mores Progressionem High, located in Chicago, Illinois. The school looks the same as in the base game, and everyone speaks English, as well as other languages that you may have learned. At the school, there is a multitude of after-school clubs and activities, including a literature club. Following DDLC and its mods, the first day of the story plays out a little faster than the first day of the game.

Cool Segway

In the world, there is a system of semi-magic. It's not magic in the sense that you can cast spells, but more geared toward MHA's quirk system. The power anyone is given has no determinable cause, including parentage and life experience. You could be a therapist whose power is to grow claws or an army sergeant whose power is to summon a small cat (His name is Lt. Tom). Research has concluded that a person's character traits and personality can manifest themselves in their power. There aren't any superheroes/villains because using most powers drains the users Stamina at a rapid rate. Even people who have used their powers daily for 70 years don't see an increase in usage time, only the range of ability the power can achieve. Example: Your power is the ability to make a flame on the tips of your fingers. After some practice, you can now have all five fingers make flame at the same time. After lots of practice, you can make flames appear on other things that are as small as a finger or smaller, like a pencil tip. The flame could also get hotter, or bigger, or change color as you practice instead. It's random each time, and no two powers are the same.

The government (boo)

For reasons beneficial to everyone's life, the U.S. government founded a new national security organization like the FBI, called the Civilian Power Sanction Organization or CPSO. They instituted a separate force, like firefighters and police officers, to stop people with dangerous powers. For someone to use their power legally, they must be at least 16 years of age and pass the Power Protection Exam. They get a card, are registered in the CPSO database, and CPSO agents get a picture of their face, so they don't get arrested.

Science (yay)

Advancements in understanding where powers come from are hard to come by and harder to understand. The CPSO dispenses pamphlets constantly to help parents and teens discover their powers and not use them irresponsibly. The CPSO also has its agents equipped with dampeners that resist the powers, derived from an elite agent that has the power to block other powers and an elite scientist that has the power to infuse objects with other powers.

The Literature Club's members, as reported by Joe Dohn for the club census.

Monika: The club president! Popular, athletic, and beautiful, she's one of the school's top students. She left the debate club last year because of all the politics (and stress) and enjoys playing tennis. She's 18 years old, and a junior. She stands at 5'4" and has emerald eyes, as well as coral-brown hair with a nice white bow on top. The thing that she likes most about the club is the escape that it brings. She enjoys more abstract poetry and older books, but she's been known to sneak in a spicy romance occasionally!

Yuri: Shy, elegant, and far from ordinary. Yuri's quiet and soft-spoken, unless you listen while she's talking. When she talks about something she cares about (e.g. her favorite horror novel) she'll seemingly transform before your eyes! From quiet and afraid to sharp and graceful, her words are full of excellent imagery that's only matched by her poetry. If you can get her to let you read it! She's also 18 and a junior, but she stands at a whooping 5'7" and sports lavender eyes and long lavender hair. She likes that the club is full of people who care about what she does.

Natsuki: Quick, sharp, and kind of mean, blink and you'll miss her fast and fiery trademark; Hide Behind Insults Attack! Look up "Tsundere" and you'll undoubtedly get a picture of the 17-year-old baker who "didn't make those cupcakes for you or anything!" Self-proclaimed poet master of the year, Nat's poems are as bouncy and fun as she is, when she's ready to accept you're not going to make fun of her. Standing at 5'0" and with shining bright pink eyes and hair, she often reads her many volumes of manga in the closet. Whenever she's not confidently admiring her vanilla-frosted handiwork, she admits that her favorite thing about the club is the safety it provides.

Sayori: I guess you really shouldn't blink at all in the club, because next is the bubbly ball of endless energy: Sayori! The brightest (if not sharpest) crayon in the box, Sayori is a wiz with people and the Vice President of the literature club. Because of her people skills, she's in charge of getting new members. Sporting coral-pink hair with a bright red bow and standing at 5'3", Sayori's blue eyes are almost as shiny as her personality. She loves to read and write mostly about emotions, namely bittersweet things. Her favorite thing about the club is that "it makes everybody happy!" (I was hard-pressed to turn her down when she asked me to stay, this reporter says.)

James: Sayori's childhood friend. Somewhat of a snarker and "meanie," this high school student is an avid member of the Go Home ClubTM but has a heart of gold. He spends most of his days inside, but Sayori has been planning on asking him to join the club soon. (She also convinced me to put him in the census.) He likes lots of games, including video, board, and physical. He's neighbors with Sayori, and sometimes walks to school with her, "If she isn't late. Which is never." His chocolate hair and dark chocolate eyes make him seem like a "background character," but he's a pretty cool guy to meet when you ignore stereotypes. Also, he's 5'3".

BC: The New Arrival in question. Standing 6'1", this giant nerd is a perfect example of the classic fake out. At first glance, his gleaming green-blue eyes and 'grin of doom' inflict the 'biggest fear debuff of the century' but in all reality he's a D&D-loving aspiring musician who just wants to have a good time. In a fight, he seems to have skill, power, and durability combined, though he hates violence and seeks to end the conflict as peacefully as possible. Though confident in his fighting ability, he's pretty much unable to make friends due to not having any experience.

The report's over, but the story's just begun…

The Prologue

He opened his eyes. At first, he saw nothing but darkness, but he quickly adjusted to midnight and looked around. Lined up in rows around him were desks, facing him and the blackboard behind him. The windows on his right let in gentle moonbeams, illuminating dust in the air. After regaining his footing, he made his way over to the teacher's desk. He then exited the classroom and went into the hallway. Upon opening the door, his nose was assaulted by the smell of lemony cleaning supplies. The floor creaked slightly before his feet, and he looked around again with caution. Even though it was night, he was nervous and alert, as he did not want to be seen. Clearing the coast, he walked calmly over to a map on the wall and located a room where they kept the uniforms. He walked solemnly and focused on his mission; he had to get a uniform and join the school. It'd been his goal for a long time, and with the new house and his other preparations he could finally- he stopped and shook his head. That would come later, for now, he had arrived. Smiling, he opened the door and found a uniform that would fit him and left. After finding another map- as he was terrible with directions- he found the main office in charge of new students and left his application at the front desk. As he left the building, he thought to himself joyously; It took me way more effort than I wanted to give, but it'll all be worth it. This school is one of the best in the country, and I've finally stopped running. I can finally focus on what I want! Suddenly, his stomach growled.

"Ha!" He laughed. "Besides breakfast, of course! Ahahahahaha!"

Stay tuned to continue when we return.

Don't look at me like that.

Okay fine I'll release chapter one already jeez!

*Muffled clanking sounds*

You're as bad as my dog with those puppy eyes.
