Kenobi Chapter 4: Memories Long Gone

Welcome to Chapter 4! I hope you enjoy it, and please read and review. Thanks!

The sun rose in the early morning the troopers Rex and Cody had briefed the three of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka before prepping the 501st and 212th battalions for the upcoming droid attack. In the thick of the woods of Yavin IV. The three Jedi went into a secluded area of the temple where a room was covered in Kyber Crystal so that the Jedi could really hone and connect with the will of the Force. In calling upon the crystals to bring a calm peace over the trio Obi-Wan felt as if he was alone in the serenity of the Force. Before being interrupted by the young padawan of Anakin Skywalker

"Master Obi-Wan, why are we here we could be preparing for the droid attack. We have a mission that is critical for this planet while we stay here and meditate instead?"

"Ahsoka the Force is always needed to be a part of your life no matter what you are doing. To be a Jedi is to use the Force for good to provide for all, but we cannot give what we don't have. The stronger the connection to the Force the more help we all can provide whenever we need to call upon it." Obi-Wan taught Ahsoka as Anakin walked in hearing the important lesson on the Force without interrupting the two before speaking himself.

"Sorry to disrupt the lesson Master, but the troopers are ready to get underway with the droid battalion." Then as the three walked out to prepare for the battle Obi-Wan left his reminding advice for the group.

"Trust in the Force. Everything will be fine as long as we stick together."

Waking up from the dream of the memory of the past it was clear what the Force was trying to do. Convincing Obi-Wan to face his reality of the past and how it affected him and to move on. The problem being the love for which Obi-Wan had in the beginning of his training as a reminder of his former master which later transformed into the brotherly love found in his becoming a Jedi Knight. Shaking his head at the memories of the past for the twenty years. These past ten years have been a time of solemn falling a part of the former Jedi into Ben Kenobi.

Now, naming himself Ben after the nickname that was given to him by Satine. The closest person to Obi-Wan in which almost caused him to leave in the case that the love he had for the Duchess of Mandalore. Upon thinking of the name, he remembered it like the day was yesterday as Obi-Wan and the Duchess had just silently escorted the Duchess out of the fortress as he led Satine and himself into the vastness of the forest secluded in refugee attire. Obi-Wan was tasked with taking the Duchess through this forest to a secluded village that worked in favor of the Duchess' political side of the civil war on Mandalore. Just the two of them alone as Qui-Gon Jinn led a diversion with the guards on the other side of the palace to secure the escape of Satine and Obi-Wan.

"You have successfully escaped undetected from the Palace Duchess."

"I suggest you stop calling me Duchess young Jedi, and I suggest that you adopt a new name for yourself as not to animate our intentions for the rest of the planet who I am and where we are going!" The surprised Jedi could tell from the retort of the Duchess that while she was in his care. She would let her opinion be known to which Obi-Wan recomposed himself and then replied with respect.

"Of course, what would you suggest I name myself for this journey?"

"I think the name Ben suits you quite well. You should use it not just now, but in the future if you ever need to remain hidden." The smile that Satine gave him made it too hard for Obi-Wan to deny her the recommended name.

"Alright, Satine. Say hello to Ben Kenobi."

In leaving the memory as he left the cave Obi-Wan mounted upon his new Eopi. How Obi-Wan wished there was a way to call upon someone who he could confide in with his pain and suffering, but he had to remind himself of the mission. Speaking to himself he reminded why he was here.

"I am here to watch over the boy, and when the time comes, he will be trained."

Then without moments noticed rode off towards the farm of Lar's Homestead to check to see how the boy, the son of Anakin Skywalker was doing. The vastness of the desert ax he rode on made it difficult to not be reliant on the memories of the past as the desert makes you dig deep into the deepest parts of your core as you really learn who you are in this terrain. After sometime Obi-Wan came upon the Lars' homestead where he looked upon with his micro binoculars, searching and seeing the person of Luke Skywalker. Seeing him almost shocked the Jedi as he looked at Luke Skywalker and saw the spitting image of Anakin. Both the same age as the time Obi-Wan and his former Master Qui-Gon Jinn took him off of Tatooine all those years ago. Then with the remembrance of that one memory came back a flood of memories of his friendship with Anakin and his growth to knighthood in his proudest moments, before the torturous memories of his turn into Darth Vader. Remembering Master Yoda's words as if he had just spoken to him in that instant

"If into the security holograms you go, only pain will you find."

Which was true, the way in which Obi-Wan witnessed Anakin slaughtering some of his best friends and fellow Jedi Knight's all the way down to those Younglings who didn't stand a chance. His sorrow began to palpate until it was suddenly stopped by the all-familiar voice.

"What are you doing here Ben?"

"I came to check on the Boy?"

"Luke doesn't need you to be here, your more of a threat to him than a guardian."

"You know why I need to look over him. When the time comes, he must be trained."

"Like you trained his father? Anakin is dead and you of all people know how important he is to the Empire if they were to find out about one of the children, let alone both of them. I need you to stay hidden."

"I will do what I must Owen, but I want nothing more than the safety of Luke and Leia." Then turning his Eopi to go into town he left Lars leaving behind a sky hopper toy that was clearly meant for Owen to give to Luke.

When in the middle of the desert terrain not far from the town of Mos Eisley. There was a man running for his life checking behind his shoulder. Putting his hood up to mask the clear ability to make out his face, then the man stopped and looked right at Obi-Wan before sprinting towards him. The man ran up before Obi-Wan had an opportunity to escape and the spoke to him.

"Master Kenobi? Is that really you?"

"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"My name is Nari, and I need you to help me warn Saw Gerrera the Empire led by Darth Vader is here to intercept him and his group of freedom fighters."

"Darth Vader you say, that is impossible!" Obi-Wan rebuked while trembling with fear.

"No, he interrogated and tortured me himself."

"I'm sorry, but I cannot help you. You will bring too much attention to me here. You must get off planet."

"You don't understand Obi-Wan the Empire is coming here. There will soon be a blockade that will be held by the Empire until they locate the Gerrera crew. I have the coordinates; I just need a guide who won't sell me out to the Empire."

Leaving in a hurry to find the crew so as to leave before getting caught neither of the two Jedi noticed that they were being followed by the fifth brother who had been tracking the Jedi escapee since he landed. Waiting for the blockade to form before capturing Kenobi and the newfound prize of Obi-Wan Kenobi for Darth Vader following them from close behind in order to ensnare the Rebel's along with Kenobi.
