I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC

Hello guys Badger here. It's been a while since the previous chapter. I apologise about that. I hope you understand that, because I'm now a University student, I don't have as much time as I would like at the moment, to write as much as I used to. However, next semester, I only have three days of classes with the rest being free to do whatever I wish, so I may be able to write more. Also, I have multiple ongoing fanfics, some of which I have deleted as I'm not as happy with them anymore and believe I can make a better one at some point, so trying to give priority to all of them is difficult.

Anyway, I won't bore you any longer, for now, I hope you enjoy the new chapter and I'll see you at the end.

Chapter 6

The harsh winds and freezing rain pelted Harry in the face, as he raced across the pitch, trying to keep his grip on the Quaffle. Easier said then done, as it was slippery from the rain. Today it was Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff was currently winning 180 – 40. The reason for the score, was Hufflepuffs newest Beater, Aila Badger. She was able to make the team, which was a cause for celebration amongst their friend group. However, she was also a worthy opponent on the pitch, as when an opposing Chaser was making their way to score, she'd hit a Bludger in their direction, causing the opponent to move off course and missing their opportunity to score. The foggy weather made it even harder. Harry could see the hoops and, with two of Hufflepuff's Chasers behind him, he took a shot, only for Hufflepuff's Keeper to dodge it at the last minute, causing Harry to hit his broom in mild frustration. Looking across the pitch, Harry could see Cho and Cedric racing across the pitch, battling it out to catch the Snitch, with Cedric inching closer and closer. But, with a burst of speed and a smirk on her face, Cho shot forward wrapping her hands around the Snitch, ending the match with a win for Ravenclaw, 180 – 190. Harry sighed in relief. The victory was a close one. Too close for his liking, but a victory none the less.

Nathaniel scowled as he watched his attention stealing brother fly back into the stands with the rest of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team. His blood was still boiling from the troll incident. He had even been scolded by Dumbledore for upsetting the know-it-all in the first place. Well, no matter what anyone said, he wasn't going to apologise to her. Nathaniel didn't understand why people were obsessed with Harry and found him to be one of the best players Ravenclaws ever had. He does nothing to earn such a thing. That Asian girl is the one who wins the game for them. What does Harry do? Nothing. Nathaniel believed there was someone out there, who just wants to rub everything in his face. Harry this, Harry that. Harry isn't great. Nathaniel was the hero. One day, he hoped to wipe that smile off that his brothers face and show everyone who the true wizard was.

Remus was quietly reading in the living area of his and Sirius' home, enjoying the peaceful silence. As he lived with Sirius peace and quiet was a luxury he could scarcely afford, so he would always grab the opportunity to read, whenever he could. Unfortunately his peaceful reading was shattered, when a black dog came bursting into room, barking for joy, as he began running circles around the chair Remus was sitting in.

"For god sack Padfoot, calm down!" Remus exclaimed, putting his book to the side "Honestly, what is it that has your tail wagging?"

After running a few more laps, Padfoot calmed down as he came to a stop, before slowly morphing into a grinning Sirius Black. He rummaged inside his jacket, before removing a letter. Remus immediatley knew it wasn't from Harry. The envelope was a jet black, with some kind of red thread sewn into edges of the paper. He looked up to Sirius confused, who couldn't stop grinning.

"I'm not saying anything, open up the letter and see for yourself" He said, practically shoving the envelope into Remus' face

Remus sighed and took the letter from Sirius' hands, ignoring the man practically bouncing around the room, like a child in a sweet store. Removing the letter from the envelope, he read through the contents, his eyes widening at what he was reading:

To Sirius Black,

I'm sure you remember me. We met many years ago, at the previous Quidditch World Cup.

Word travels around quickly in the Wizarding World, and we have heard many things about Harry Potters performance as a Chaser for the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team. Over the past year, as part of my job looking for potential trainees, I have often gone to many of Hogwarts' Quidditch matches, to see if he really is as great as people have said. And I must say, I have been impressed with what I have seen. If young Harry is willing, I would like to enter him into the Under 17's Quidditch Training program, beginning during the Summer Holiday next year.

I think the young lad will make an excellent Chaser for any team, should he wish to do Quidditch professionally.

Orion Inorim

"This is…" Remus said, unable to find the words "This is…"

"Absolutely incredible?" Sirius finished "I know…I haven't heard from the man since the Quidditch World Cup"

Sirius remembered that day. When Harry was growing up he started to develop a love and obsession for Quidditch, specifically the team Puddlemere United Quidditch Team, so Sirius would try to take Harry to every game he could. Then, in the last Quidditch World Cup, when Harry was ten years old, Sirius had bumped into Orion, who was a two years ahead of Sirius when they were in Hogwarts. The two struck up a conversation, where Sirius introduced Harry to Orion, as his Godson, and said that Harry had a love for Quidditch, to which Orion jokingly said, to send him a letter if Harry wants to play Quidditch professionally one day. At the time, Sirius thought nothing of it. But now, it was a different story entirely.

"Are you going to tell Harry" Remus asked

"Of course I am, though it may be overwhelming for him" Sirius replied "A possible Order of Merlin, our gift we're going to give him for the Order of Merlin and now this"

"Don't forget entering the Under 17's Magicka Duelling Ring in Paris" Remus reminded him, remembering the letter they received a few days back "Do you think Harry will do it?"

"Maybe" Sirius shrugged "He has a love for Quidditch but I don't know if he wants to do it professionally…I don't think he really knows what he wants to do yet…understandably so, he's only 14…I'll send him a letter and see what he wants to do"

Hermione felt nervous as she entered Professor McGonagall's office. She was told by one of the Prefects that the Transfiguration Professor wanted to see her and she was worried. She was internally panicking, thinking she was in trouble for something and began thinking of something she might have done to be summoned to McGonagall's office. The stern professor was sitting at her desk, marking some papers, but looked up when she heard the door close.

"Ah Miss Granger" She said "Glad you made it…please take a seat"

"Why did you want to see me professor?" Hermione asked nervously "I'm…I'm not in trouble am I?"

"Not at all" McGonagall said, reassuringly "In fact I want to help you…I have watched you in my last few classes and I've noticed that you are struggling with the spell to transfigure a goblet into a robin, am I right?"

Hermione scowled as she nodded. She had been doing so well in every other class, but Transfiguration was proving to be difficult. The first few assignments were easy, but the Goblet-To-Robin spell was slightly more complex, and was taught to First Years, to see how they could handle more advanced Transfiguration in the future. She had tried multiple times to get the spell right, but she couldn't. The goblet was almost as stubborn as herself and refused to even change shape at all. Not to mention, next week McGonagall was going to have every student demonstrate the spell to her, to see how they did and she was worried she was going to be the only one who wouldn't be able to do anything.

"Well, at Hogwarts we have a system where older years help the younger years if they are struggling with assignments…and Mr Potter agreed to help you" Mcgonagall smiled, thinking back to earlier in the day:

"You wished to see me professor?" Harry asked politely, stopping behind her desk

"Indeed Mr Potter" McGonagall said "Mr Potter, do you know of the system we have here at Hogwarts, where older years help the younger years with assignments they're struggling on?"

"I am familiar with it" Harry nodded

"Well, I wish for you to help with Miss Granger" McGonagall explained "She is struggling with the Goblet-To-Robin spell, but hasn't seemed to ask for help…as I'm sure you know the spell is very complicated for most, except for you of course, you managed to preform the spell after 5 attempts…anyway, with your guidance, I'm sure she'll be able to successfully preform the spell and do well in her demonstration next week"

"I admit, I'm disappointed that she didn't come to me earlier" Harry sighed "I've told her she can come to me for anything…I'll do it, I'm usually at the back of the library after lessons, so she can meet me there"

"He should be in the back of the library" McGonagall continued "Should be nice and quiet for him to help you learn the spell"

"I'll go now" Hermione said, standing up "Thank you professor"

As soon as Hermione left the classroom, she immediatley headed towards the library. She was glad that she wasn't in any kind of trouble, but she didn't like having to receive help for her assignments. Hermione never liked having to ask for help. It made her feel like some sort of failure. Thankfully, the library was empty save for a few students scattered across the tables, each one reading through books. They didn't even look up when she entered. Making her way to the back, she found who she was looking for. Sat in a comfortable chair, looking through a strange book she had never seen before, was Harry Potter. He looked up, noticing her from the corner of his eyes, and smiled as he put his book down.

"I'm glad you made it" Harry said "I'm sure McGonagall told you about…"

"You offering to help me?" Hermione finished, as she sat down on the chair opposite him "Yeah"

"You know, I kind of felt disappointed that you didn't come to me before" Harry commented, as he removed his wand and leant forward in his seat "Surely you remember me saying you can come to me for anything right?"

"I remember" Hermione looked down "I just…I just felt like a failure if I asked for help"

"You're anything but a failure Hermione" Harry replied, his voice soft in tone, which was a rare thing "Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses…and you should never be ashamed for asking for help with those weaknesses"

Harry didn't like seeing the sad look on Hermione's face. It reminded Harry of himself from when he was growing up. He always felt like a failure, as his brother was always praised and pampered just for something he barely knew anything about. He could tell Hermione was often alone and isolated. He was the same. At least until he met his friends. If he could, at least, make her feel less lonely before leaving Hogwarts then that would make him happy.

"Now" He continued after a moment, placing two goblets on the table in front of them "One thing you need to know, is that there are many ways to learn magic…personally, I've found that having a visual aid often helps with Transfiguration, so…"

Harry pointed his wand at the goblet closest to him and said the incantation, 'Scyphus'. Hermione watched as slowly, but surely the bronze goblet turned into a beautiful robin, which chirped softly. She looked in awe, as Harry held out his hand allowing the robin to jump up onto his index finger. Harry then held out his hand in front of her.

"Okay, now, what I want you to do, is take note of every single detail of this robin" Harry said "the shape of the feathers, the transition from white to orange, the blackness of the eyes…everything…keep looking at it, until you are able to fully picture an accurate image of a robin in your mind and try again…I don't care how long it takes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour, two hours, take as much time as you need"

Hermione felt kind of silly as she sat there, having a staring contest with the robin in front of her, which tilted its small head every so often, as if wondering why a girl was staring at it intently. As she sat there, she took in every small detail as Harry said. She wasn't sure how long she had been sat there, looking at the robin, but it must have been some time. She was expecting Harry to grow impatient, let out a frustrated sigh, start tapping his foot. Anything. But he just sat there. Despite the occasional clearing of his throat, when it went dry, he just sat in silence, a small smile on his face. After sometime, Hermione closed her eyes and could see a nearly clear image of a robin in her mind.

"I think I have it now" Hermione said

"Okay, go ahead and try it" Harry replied, encouragingly

Hermione took out her wand and tried the spell. To her delight, the goblet began to morph and shift until, in its place, was a robin. It bounced slightly on the table, chirping softly before taking off, Harry's robin following and began flying around their heads, making Hermione giggle and causing Harry to grin. After a few minutes, the robins landed back on the table, where Harry turned them back into goblets, before he was tackled by Hermione, who gave him a tight hug. He was taken off guard for a moment, but quickly returned the hug. He felt like he could get used to hugging others.

"Thank you" Hermione said, after they parted

"Don't worry about it" Harry replied, handing her one of the goblets "Here you go, keep this and keep practicing, you did really well…remember, always come to me if you need anything"

"I will" Hermione smiled

And that's the new chapter done.

Was the wait worth it? I hope it was. Again I apologise that it has been a while, but I hope to try and find a steady and consistent writing schedule at some point. Anyway, there is quite a bit here isn't there. At the moment, I'm not sure if Harry is going to be a professional Quidditch Player. I like the idea of him being a Quidditch Player, but I don't know. Do leave ideas for which team you think Harry should play for.

This chapter was also, originally longer. There was going to be a conversation between Harry, James and Aila, (but I won't say what, I'll leave that for the next chapter, or the one after that) and there was also going to be the Wizengamot meeting regarding giving Harry the Order of Merlin (Remember that?). However, I decided to save that for the next chapter, as I liked the idea of the chapter ending with a nice wholesome moment with Harry and Hermione who I'm trying to do a brother/sister dynamic between the two.

Anyway, that is all for now. I hope you enjoyed and I will see you next time.
