We arrived at Yamazaki's place. Li helps me step out of the car, and we walk towards the Takashi residence, towards the front door. Some guys I don't know say hi to Li, to which he replies back, just as he holds me softly by my waist. I really hope Daidouji's somewhere around here or all of this will be for nothing. Although I also hope she's nowhere near here since I'm still scared.
We finally reach the front door, and I'm about to walk inside the house, when Li stops me. He's now staring at me.
"What?" I ask, and for a moment I'm afraid my makeup is all patchy and cakey.
"You look pretty."
"What?" I say again, unable to believe he said what he just said.
"I think you owe me a new phone screen photo." He says while holding a smile, as he looks for his phone, and holds it right in front of me. "Truth be told, the photo you sent me doesn't comply with the promise you gave me."
I puff.
"It was a very good photo."
"It was, but you now look much prettier. Come one, smile for me."
I smile, shyly. Li snaps the photo, stares at it for a couple of seconds, and finally puts his phone away.
And then, as if nothing had happened, we finally walk in.
She's the first thing I see. She shines over everybody else. There's something about her that makes everybody look at her.
Tomoyo's sitting in the living room sofa, surrounded by her friends. One of them, a red hair girl named Kaho Mizuki, looks at me and says hi in such a familiar way, as if we were actually friends since forever.
"It's your turn." Li says, and slightly pushes me forward.
No, please, no. I can't do this on my own.
But Li had just vanished, and Kaho Mizuki is still calling my name, so I got no other choice but to get close to them.
"Hi." I say hesitant, and since there's no room for me in the sofa, I just stand up in the middle of the room, right in front of them.
"We're dying to know." Kaho Mizuki says, as Daidouji drinks from her solo red cup, with an expression of utter boredom. "How did things between you and Li happened?"
I shrug my shoulders.
"I don't know. It just happened."
"When did you start dating?"
This feels like a questioning, and I'm pretty sure all the questions Kaho Mizuki is dropping on me are instructed by Daidouji, which makes me even more nervous.
"Before classes started."
Daidouji's smile tells me I gave them the wrong answer. Should I take it back, or would that be even worse, since it may make my story sound even less plausible?
It actually doesn't matter, since it seems Daidouji already has all the answers she wanted, and now they're all ignoring me, as they talk about things I don't understand, nor care.
Since it seems they had totally forgotten about me, I turn around and walk away.
I end up in the bathroom. I'm looking at myself in the mirror, trying to fix my hair, but I end up deciding is no use, and walk out.
I'm not that sure if I should go back to where Tomoyo and her friends are chatting, or I should actually look for Li and stick to him as if I was a parasite, so I solve it by heading to the kitchen, where I actually end up bumping into Yukito.
"Hi, Sakura-chan. Are you having fun?" he asks as he offers me a red solo cup with cherry coke.
"Yes." I say shyly, and add. "Have you seen Syaoran?"
I really really want Yukito to appear more often. He was really one of my favorite characters here :c
