Sunstreaker isn't sure about Jamie's guardians being on a mission with how her mental health has been. He didn't think he'd find Jamie sick in bed when he walks into her and her guardian room. Sunstreaker is a callus mech who takes pride in humans fearing him, except for a few femme humans. He's tender towards them. Jamie is one of them.

Jamie has a low-grade fever which tells Sunstreaker Jamie has a cold that sometimes can cause Jamie not feeling like getting out of bed. Sunstreaker's concern is how Jamie doesn't eat and it's harder to get her to eat when she's sick.
"I think Cogman is starting a fire," Sunstreaker comments.
Jamie says nothing. Sunstreaker picks her up and grabs her red blanket. Trying to wrap her in it while holding her. He sees how uncomfortable Jamie is and gives up trying to wrap her in the blanket.

As Sunstreaker thought, Cogman has a fire going, and it's already blazing. He lies Jamie on the couch, making sure she's covered well with the blanket. He puts the T.V. on, uncertain if Jamie wants to watch T.V. or sleep, gives her the remote, and goes into the kitchen.

Cogman is in the kitchen.
"Can you make soup?" Sunstreaker asks.
Cogman finds it hard to believe Sunstreaker is asking him nicely, but then he remembers Crosshairs and Drift aren't here.
"Shouldn't you contact them? They need to come back to —."
"It's just a cold. Even if this was the flu, I'm not telling them to get back. You know Jamie wouldn't either. Cade and Vivian are here and I can call the femmes if need be."
Cogman is unsure, but he agrees to make soup rather than argue. First, he makes tea for Jamie and gives Sunstreaker crackers to try to get Jamie to eat.

"I still can't get used to seeing you being caring," Sideswipe comments, "even if it's towards a few."
"And most humans still fear me," Sunstreaker says proudly.
Sideswipe sighs, knowing Sunstreaker won't change but still hoping he will. He watches Sunstreaker get Jamie to sit up and drink tea. Hoping she'll eat.
Jamie eats a couple of crackers before laying down. Sunstreaker figured she wouldn't drink the hot tea yet. The twins know Jamie will not be interested in doing anything for the day. Sideswipe plays video games until Jamie falls asleep. Both mechs hoping Jamie will eat soup once it's done.
I worry she's going to be upset about not seeing Drift. Sideswipe says through the bond.
I honestly think she won't like both her guardians aren't here. They're close even if she loves Drift romantically.

An hour passes, and Jamie tries to stand up but feels dizzy and cold.
"Where are you going?" Sunstreaker asks.
"Upstairs," Jamie replies.
"I'd rather you stay here. Easier to watch you," Sunstreaker tells her, "Sideswipe go!"
Jamie would rather go up to her bed but already needs to lie down rather than ignore what Sunstreaker is saying. She's been drinking her tea but has yet to finish the drink. Sideswipe doesn't go anywhere. He turns off the T.V. and gets his Nintendo switch from his subspace.

Jamie sleeps most of the day. Waking up as the soup is done. By now, Cade and Vivien know Jamie is sick. Both worrying Jamie wants her guardians home, but won't say anything.
"And Sunstreaker is taking care of her? This is strange," Cade comments watching Sunstreaker try to get Jamie to eat. Going as far as having her sit on his lap.
"Eat s little then I'll put you to bed," Sunstreaker insists.
"Wish we could do something else other than this," Sideswipe whispers to Cade, "I hate seeing her like this, but she has to eat."
It's a hard ten minutes before Sunstreaker carries Jamie upstairs wrapped in the blanket like he wanted to this morning. Not liking how little she ate. Hoping this doesn't last long.

Sunstreaker lies Jamie in bed and checks her temperature, worried the way she's looking means her fever is getting worse.
No change doesn't ease his worry.

He goes into the bathroom, fills the sink with warm water, and puts a couple of face clothes in to soak. Hoping the water won't drain, and one will be ready in the morning while he uses the other now. Aware it'll fall off Jamie's forehead when she moves.

Jamie doesn't move as the folded face cloth is put on her forehead. She waits until Sunstreaker sits at the desk to go to sleep.
I know she doesn't need to be watched overnight, but still... Sunstreaker sighs.
Deciding he'll stay for an hour. Even though neither Crosshairs nor Drift would be mad if he slept in one of their beds. Hoping this cold doesn't get worse or last long.
