Kelpie's A/N: So we had the idea to have a little bonus chapter for Shifting Perspective's one year anniversary! Thank you all who still follow this story, even with the less than frequent updates. I know that we haven't posted in months, and I apologize for that. But school has started and I was not expecting the amount of work I that I now have, if that's understandable. So yes, I am aware that this is short, but I genuinely like it. It was all MC, not me. I won't steal her credit. Also, I do know that this is a day late.. I had a project due and didn't have time to post it last night in time for the anniversary. But Happy Anniversary! :P

MC's A/N: I hope you all enjoy this chapter! I worked really hard to try to get this out this time because Kelpie has been really busy, of course some credit goes to her for fixing my terrible spelling and grammar (She literally just pointed out I spelt busy 'buisy"' if that's any proof of it. Hopefully we get the next chapter out soon, its almost done. I've also had a new obsession recently (hint hint, its a tale about a boy and his friends and a game they play together) Anyways enjoy the bonus chapter! 0u0

(This is Kelpie, I edited her A/N and there was at least three mistakes in every sentence XP)

Bonus Chapter - The Proposal - [Alden's POV]

Alden sat at a long table next to the Black Swan's leader, Mr. Forkle. At the head of the table was the leader of the Council of Ymbrynes, Miss Avocet.

Alden and Mr. Forkle were left to their own devices as the ymbyrnes talked between themselves for the time being.

Eventually, after a little while of allowing this bickering to happen, Miss Avocet cleared her throat. Silence engulfed the room immediately. Turning to Alden she spoke, "Pardon their impeccable rude behavior, dear. Tell us a bit about yourself, Alex."

Standing up, the grown elf replied, "It's Alden, actually, Alden Vacker, father of three, married. Telekinetic Emissary for the Council."

"I assume the Council already briefed you on the matter at hand?" The ymbryne stared Alden down questioningly.

"Yes, today we are discussing the reconnection of Elves and Peculiars." Alden responded, somewhat hesitantly.

Miss Avocet nodded at him. "Alright then, state the Council's case."

"The reconnection between Elves and Peculiars would benefit both parties. It would increase the Lost Cities' population, allowing it to become a more successful economy, as well as provide new material to be taught about history as well as provide protection for the pecu–"

Miss Avocet cut him off. "You see, we Peculiars don't need the Elve's protection. Plus, we," She gestured loosely at the other ymbrynes surrounding her, "are only the European Peculiars. What of the Americans, of the Egyptians, or all the others?"

Miss Peregrine, who Alden had not noticed was in attendance, stood up addressed lead ymbryne politely. "Might I say, Miss Avocet, judging by recent events, even though we have defeated Caul, there is still the issue of Devil's Acre. We have too many Peculiars in one place; they are crowded and uncomfortable. I propose we take the Elves offer and make new loops in the Lost Cities." Miss Peregrine paused. "If a tragic event like this were to occur again, we would have a multitude of loops to use as safe havens at our disposal for the protection of all Peculiars."

Another ymbyrne spoke up, looking pointedly at Alden. "If we were to do this, though, we Peculiars will be granted all legal rights that are gifted to Elves."

The room fell silent and all of the ymbrynes turned and stared at the two elves expectantly. This time, Mr. Forkle addressed the room. "I believe Mr. Vacker and I should be able to have this arranged."

The ymbrynes turned to each other, having a quiet discussion about whether they should accept the deal or not. Never had Alden been so tempted to eavesdrop before.

Eventually, the ymbrynes came to a unanimous decision. As one, they leveled their stares at Alden and Mr. Forkle. It was, of course, Miss Avocet, who finally broke the silence. "We accept the Elve's proposal."
