I'm back! Sorry its taken so long. i started school again, and thats been taking up a lot of my time. But here's chapter 15! Enjoy!
It was Monday morning and both Olivia and Charles were getting ready for work. Olivia stood over her sink in the bathroom putting on her makeup, and Charles stood next to her shaving his face. Lucy took the kids to school so it was just the two of them. "I love getting ready with you." Olivia said once she put her eyeliner on.
Charles smiled and looked over at her, half his face shaved. "I love getting ready with you, too." He rinsed off his razor and started shaving again.
Olivia finished her lips and she turned to look at him. "Want to do lunch? We still need to plan my launch party."
Charles smirked. "Do you just want an excuse to see me during the day?"
Olivia blushed. "That too." She wrapped her arms around his waist and smiled. "Come on, just think we can steal some kisses while we party plan."
Charles kissed her forehead once he finished shaving. "You don't need to convince me love, I want to see you during the work day, I can't wait to hear what your squad says about your ring."
Olivia smiled. "Me too," she kissed him gently. "I can't believe we're getting married."
Charles smiled. "I can't wait to see you in a wedding dress. You're going to make a beautiful bride."
Olivia bit her bottom lip. "I hope it's okay that we have the kids involved. I want it to be a family affair. I love our family."
Charles lifted her chin and kissed her gently. "I think it's wonderful that you want the kids involved."
Olivia smiled. "I was thinking, maybe, if you want to... you could adopt Noah? Be his dad?"
Charles kissed her again. "I'd love to. As long as it's okay with him, and you're sure that you don't want his biological dad—"
Olivia stopped him. "I haven't told you about his dad. He was a sex trafficker, he raped thousands of girls, bought and sold them, including Noah's birth mother, Ellie, who he then had killed after she was trying to get her life together and flipped on her pimp." She shook her head. "I don't want his biological dad anywhere near Noah. Ever. Even in name."
Charles wrapped her in his arms. "I'm sorry, Livia. I didn't know. I would love to adopt Noah, to be his dad."
Olivia hugged him tight. "I should have told you sooner. I just want him to have an amazing dad, and you're the best dad I've ever seen with Bianca and Nicole and you've been an amazing father figure to Noah."
Charles kissed her softly, but soundly. "I'd love to be his dad, Livia. Absolutely love it. He's a wonderful boy, with an amazing mom."
Olivia smiled. "We should probably get to work, but I'll see you for lunch so we can plan my book launch?"
Charles returned the smile. "Lunch to plan," he whispered. "But before you go, I want to kiss you one more time, like you deserve to be kissed." He saw her nod and he lifted her chin slightly. He looked into her eyes and caressed her face, bringing his lips to hers, their mouths connected in a slow, passionate kiss that he knew would leave her wanting more.
Olivia let out a whimper when he pulled away. "You don't play fair," she groaned and kissed him again. "I just want to kiss you all day."
Charles broke the kiss and rested their foreheads together. "I'd love that. But we both need to go to work."
Olivia pouted and looked into his eyes. "You're no fun," she pulled back slightly. "But you're right," she sighed. "Can we have lunch here so we can kiss some more?"
Charles smiled and kissed her temple. "Whatever you want, beautiful."
Olivia smiled. "Okay. So I'll see you back here for lunch and party planning?"
Charles nodded. "See you back here," he whispered and kissed her one more time.
Olivia smiled. "I love you. So much."
Charles rested his hand on her lower back as they walked to the door. "I love you too, Livia."
Both of them walked out the front door and went their separate ways to work. Olivia walked in and breezed through the squad room into her office. She turned on her computer and started going through her emails. She heard a knock at the door and she looked up, smiling, but as soon as she saw who was there the smile vanished and the color drained from her face. "What the hell are you doing here?"
He smirked. That classic smirk that was always plastered on his face. "Nice to see you too. Thought I'd drop by to see my best friend."
Olivia's mouth dropped. "Best friend. Best friend? Are you kidding me?" She shook her head. "I get kidnapped and tortured and I hear nothing from you. Some best friend."
Elliot moved into her office. "I'm sorry."
Olivia let out a breath. "I needed you and you weren't there. You hadn't spoken to me in two years. I tried. I tried for months, but you ignored me. So no, I don't think you're my best friend. Not anymore." She leaned back in her chair, her ring coming into view. "What do you want, Elliot?"
Elliot saw the ring and he nodded. "You're engaged."
Olivia looked at her ring and smiled. "To the best man…" she looked up at him. "Seriously Elliot, what are you doing here?"
Elliot's face fell. "I'm back in NYPD. Organized Crime. It's personal. And so is why I'm here. It's Kathy. She was raped and murdered by this mob I was targeting. I was undercover and they must have made me. They found her and they were trying to send a message."
Olivia let out a breath. "Elliot, I'm sorry. But I don't know what you want me to do."
Elliot nodded. "I was hoping you and your squad could take the case."
Olivia shook her head. "Elliot, it's out of our jurisdiction. We can't just take cases that are on other people's turf."
Elliot set his jaw. "The Olivia Benson I know—"
Olivia stepped forward and raised her jaw ever so slightly. "The Olivia Benson you knew grew up. The Olivia Benson you knew is now acting squad commander and Captain of Manhattan SVU." She scoffed. "You don't know me anymore Elliot. It's been ten years."
Elliot looked her square in the eye. "Apparently I don't. The person I thought you were would have done anything to help me and my family."
Olivia got closer to him. "The person I thought you were would have died protecting me, but you leave here and I don't hear a word from you? You don't want to get into who doesn't know who. You don't."
Elliot shook his head. "Whatever, don't work this case then."
Olivia ran her hands through her hair. "I can't Elliot! It's out of my hands." She watched him storm off. "Yeah, walk away Elliot. It's what you're good at!" She called after him. She looked around her squad and she shook her head. "I'll be in my office."
Amanda stood up and looked at her finger. "Liv, is that an engagement ring?"
Olivia looked at her finger and then at Amanda. "Yes, it is. Now can we please get some leads on these cases?"
Amanda nodded. "Copy that, Captain. But uh… congratulations. You seem happy."
Olivia took a minute and nodded. "I am. Truly. Now back to these cases. I'm going to be in my office going over the Ramirez tape, maybe I'll find him." She turned and walked to her office and played the tape, looking for when this guy. But first she sent a text to Charles. Can't wait for lunch. I need you.
Charles looked at his phone when it went off and he smiled. Soon, my love. We'll be together soon.
Olivia smiled at her phone and typed back a quick reply. I know. And I know we have work to do but I need to be in your arms. I need you to hold me.
Charles's heart broke. I can get out of here in an hour. Is that feasible for you?
Olivia let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Yeah, an hour sounds good. Olivia watched through the video a few times but didn't find anything. She stood up and took the video with her and walked out into the squad room. "I couldn't find anything, if one of you wants to take it, feel free. I'm going to head out for my meeting, which is probably going to take longer than expected, call me if you need me." She gathered her things and walked out of the squad room and headed home. She got to the brownstone at the same time as Charles and she ran to him and wrapped her arms around him and cried. "Thank God," she whispered.
Charles held her close, held her tight. "Okay, I'm here. It's all okay." He kissed the side of her head. "Let's go inside."
Olivia took his hand and walked inside with him. Once they were inside she looked up at him. "Take me to bed, hold me, and I'll tell you everything."
Charles picked her up and carried her up to their bedroom and held her tight. "Tell me what happened, beautiful."
Olivia wiped her eyes. "Well, my former partner came in. My best friend for twelve years… a decade ago. He, uh, came in because his wife… ex wife? Wife... was raped and murdered. He wanted me and my squad to take the case, but I couldn't. Jurisdiction has this one in Queens. He talked about the Olivia Benson he knows, but I reminded him that he hasn't known me for years. That I grew up. From Detective to Captain. Not to mention even if we had this case, I'd have to recuse myself. I'm too close. But I wish I could get my hands on the person who killed her." She wiped her eyes again. "And I don't even know if they were still married, because I got in the way of that, not on purpose," she sighed. "Can I stop talking now and have you just hold me?"
Charles wrapped them in the blankets and held her close. "Relax," he whispered. "I've got you now. I'm right here."
Olivia nodded. "I'm shocked that he didn't say much about me being engaged. God he's a Jackass, Charles. He wants what he wants when he wants it, and for a long time that included me. I made sure I was always available for him, but he dangled the promise of love… or maybe I'm just crazy and was imagining it all."
Charles kissed her forehead. "You aren't crazy."
Olivia smiled. "Crazy for you. I don't care, just don't tell me that you and I are real."
Charles grinned. "We are one hundred percent real, baby. Forever."
Olivia wrapped him in her arms and kissed him gently. "Charles?" She asked gently. "I am a little crazy." She felt him kiss her neck and she giggled. "Thank you for letting me ramble. My head is all over the place today."
Charles flipped them so he was under her and he looked down into her eyes. "Let me help you sort out some of the things going on in your head?"
Olivia squealed and kissed him, going to work on his pants. "Mr. Brooks," she kissed him and pushed his pants and boxers down.
Charles grinned. "Yes… Captain?"
Olivia all but swooned. She loved when he called her by her title. "Have your way with me. I need you, please."
Charles smirked. "You sure?"
Olivia nodded. "I am. I want you to do whatever you want. We have time. I told the squad that it would be longer than expected."
Charles moved and made quick work of her pants and panties. "Don't mind if I do," he whispered, his lips meeting at the apex of her thighs. "Oooooh, Livia."
Olivia arched her back and moaned. "Mm! Just like that."
