Time for that double date!
Songs:
Elvis Presley- Love Me Tonight
Nat King Cole- I Love You For Sentimental Reasons
Ch 9: Swinging Hearts
After about a week, things went back to normal. Or as normal as they could get anyway. Heart went back to work that next day and she felt better knowing that Alastor would always be there to wait for her at the train car. Or vice versa. It was nice starting off the day with seeing each other when Alastor didn't have to go into work early. It brought a smile to Heart's face seeing the man.
Of course, they didn't make their relationship public yet, so all their cute affection was kept to a minimum and they only did anything unless alone. More than a few times Alastor has keep Heart hidden in the back ends of the library to get in a few kisses here and there. They could be a little Scandalous. Alastor has been making Heart dinner the last few days after she got back to make her feel more at home. Although she did cook for him as well. They even got coffee again, but this time at a different shop so they didn't have to deal with that waitress again.
Tonight, was going to be the night of their double date with Rosie and Kristen, plus finally tell their friends of their relationship. They were excited and headed there after work. So, Heart made sure she looked good for the night as she worked today. All she had to do was go home and change her dress.
Alastor was almost done getting himself ready for their date at the speakeasy with Rosie and Kristen. He wore his best suit for her especially if they were going to make their relationship public. He gelled his hair, wore his best pair of specs and heart's favorite cologne he owned.
Heart had some time to go home and freshen up. She left work, saying bye to Kristen, and saying how she'd see her tonight before hopping on the train car. She got home and put on a red dress she just bought the other day and was never one to wear makeup but she figured she could go in a little bit tonight. Alastor was going to come meet her at her house when he was ready. She even did her hair a little more curled and put on just a little bit of perfume.
The radio host was almost done getting ready but felt something was missing. "Blast it what's missing?" He pondered. Then his shadow rose and took a look at him. Snapping it's fingers it zipped out the window to the neighbors rose bush and plucked a fresh rose. It came back and put it in his masters suit then told him to look in the mirror. "Oh, I say old friend that's it! My my what would I do without you?" He asked giving it a pet, causing the shadow to purr and its jagged smile to grow. "Well, let's not keep our little wolf waiting! We do need to make a stop on the way." He hummed happily. The shadow nodded, helping him with his coat as they went out the door.
Heart made sure to fix her dress a little before heading downstairs to the living room. She passed by a set of flowers and had an idea. She took one of the purple flowers and put it in her hair. She went to a mirror and saw that it was a perfect look and she giggled with joy.
Alastor made his way down the street passing by a flower shop and decided to get Heart a bouquet of flowers. He picked the best red roses for her and was soon at her door, doing their signature knock.
Heart heard the knock and she felt her chest flutter with excitement. She quickly went to the door and opened it up to see Alastor standing there on her porch and looking handsome as ever. Well, he always was, just more handsome then normal.
"Good evening, Miss Wolfe, are you ready for a lovely soirée tonight?" He gave a little bow and tipped his hat with his hand behind his back clearly hiding a little something
The woman snapped out of her dreamy daze and softened her expression, "My Mr. Ledet, you look as dapper as ever I must say." Heart tells him as she gives him a little courtesy in return.
"Ah and you're the most beautiful looking doll I must say and what could be more fitting for such a lady than fresh flowers hm?" He asked pulling the roses from behind his back and handed them to her.
Heart was surprised as he pulled out the flowers. She almost felt she was going to cry out of joy but didn't want to ruin the makeup she had on. No one has ever bought her flowers before and she felt so happy over the fact. "Oh my, are these for me?" She asked as she took them from him. "You didn't have to get me anything hun." She said, trying not to sound emotional.
"Yes, in dee dee, I wanted to since you are now officially my gal and should be treated as such. Only the best for her nothing less." The dapper man took her hand and kissed the top of it.
Heart was honestly touched by his words and she leaned forward and kissed his cheek. "Thank you, Al. I absolutely love them."
He gave a tender blush from the kiss. "You're welcome my darling."
She walked over to the kitchen and put the flowers in a small vase then set them on the table. Then she walked back up to the man at the door.
"Now, shall we be off to meet the girls?" Alastor asked as he offered her his arm.
Heart nodded. "We shall. Don't want them waiting too long." She says as she takes his arm.
"Then my lady let us be off." He said leaning down kissing her cheek before they were on their way down the sidewalk to the train car stop to wait.
"This is my first time on a date." Heart says blushing. "I'm honestly kind of nervous." She leans into him more.
"Not to worry cher, this is my first date as well. We learn together~" The dark-skinned man said, tenderly squeezing her arm to calm her.
She smiles at him. "Thank you, I'm excited to go on this date. At least we won't be alone." She said excitedly.
"Precisely I'm sure the ladies will be excited to find out we are together now and will have a lot of advice since they've been together for almost two years." Alastor told her.
"I agree. Although you are a big gentleman so I'm sure we'll be ok." She tells him with a smile.
The train car soon sounded and stopped in front of them. The two got on and they both were able to sit down and go to their destination. Heart leaning her head on his shoulder.
"I hope you have a wonderful time my darling, if you need to leave or feel uncomfortable, please tell me and I will take you home." He held her hand with his other arm around her as they drew near the stop at Rosie's.
"Thanks hon." She says softly.
They got off the train car and walked a little way down till they got to Rosie's and went to her door to knock.
The door flew open before Heart could knock, greeted by a very excited Kristen dressed in a beautiful lavender evening dress and her hair all done in beautiful waves with her bangs put in a side curl. She looked like a Chinese doll with her make up as well, "Al! Heart! I'm so excited you made it! Eee! Come on in!" She said giddily.
Heart smiled and walked into her friend's house and thought it was very lovely. The two stood in the foyer and Heart gave Kristen a hug. "You look so cute!" She complemented.
"Oh, thank you doll, you look as pretty as a picture on a museum wall! Oh, and Al you like so dapper and sharp! It's wonderful you two could make it. Rosie is waitin for us!"
"It was our pleasure. I've been excited for this." Heart said smiling. "Plus, I've never been to a speakeasy before."
"The one Rosie manages is the cat's meow! One of the classiest shindigs in town!" Kristen excitedly said. "Follow me!"
The girl directed the two out the front door and back on to the street. They went around the side of the house into an alleyway. At the end there was a large muscular African American man standing there.
Kristen went over to the security guard. "Hi Tex!" She says to this big burly guard that look like he could murder 5 people at once with one squeeze of his fist.
"Hey darlin', Rosie is expecting you three, come on in." He gave her a wink. The brunette girl giggled and gave Tex a quick hug before he opened the speakeasy.
Heart walked past the guard and smiled at him but stayed close to Alastor as he was a bit intimidating. They walked through a hallway before passing another door and having the sound of jazz coming out of the place.
"Tex is a sweetheart to friends, no need to worry about him. We have told him so much about you since he's like family!" Kristen says, still giddy like a schoolgirl. "We are almost there!"
They pass through a corridor and through a curtain where the speakeasy lies on the other side. It was honestly a very swinging place. It was alive and in full swing. There were people at the bar and there was a live band with a small dance floor.
"Rosie has a private little booth for us here, come this way." The friend said, leading them up a small set of stairs to an upper level.
"Oh, wow this should be fun." Heart said as she followed her friend and looked around the room as they went.
"Indeed darlin, this is the best speakeasy in town I'd say." Alastor whispered to her.
Heart wasn't surprised at all by that news since the woman looked successful. Plus, what Alastor has told her about the woman. Soon they made it and Rosie was waiting for them.
"Hello there Rosie." Heart greeted her.
"Hello there Heart! Al! I'm so glad you both could come. I see Kristen did a wonderful job showing you the way. Please sit and leave everything to me." The woman said, "Drinks and food are on the house tonight for such dear friends." She added winking as Kristen sat next to her and draped an arm around her.
"Oh, Rosie I don't want to be a burden doing that." Heart said, a little worried. "I'd hate for you to lose money."
"No worries sweet pea, I can afford it." Rosie winks then calls a waiter over. "Anything they order is on the house tonight. For me and my darling bring us the best rosé." She said kissing Kristen on the forehead causing her to giggle and blush.
Alastor then said his drink, "Some whiskey please for me good sir."
Heart thought of a moment and said, "I'd like a Mary Pickford please." She says.
The waiter nodded and went away to get their drink orders, leaving a menu with some food in case anyone was hungry.
"Anything tickles your fancies?" Kristen asked as she looked at some of the food choices allowing Heart and Al to see too.
Heart looked at the menu. "Oh, this Barbecue shrimp dip sounds good for an appetizer." She says as her eyes lit up looking at everything.
"Then let's share that together my darling, I was looking at that myself." Alastor leaned over and kissed her cheek.
"Yay! This will be awesome. I'm already enjoying myself." Heart says, a little excited.
"Good mon cher, I'm so glad you deserve some fun and a swell time." The radio host said with a big smile.
She leans into him a little. "I'm ready for the rest of the night to go swell." She looked towards Kristen and Rosie. "Especially with amazing people and friends."
"Suga you're too kind we can't wait to show ya how it's done down here in New Orleans! To show you such a grand and swell time is our job." Kristen exclaimed being all excited as Rosie rubbed her back lovingly. She loved seeing her girl happy and relaxed having fun. She'd do anything for her because she loved her so much.
Heart chuckled. "Well, I'm happy I have the best people around to show me how it's done down here." She smiled wide.
The waiter returned with their drinks then began to take their food order "The usual for me and my sweet little canary." Rosie said nuzzling her girlfriend.
Heart took a sip of her drink and thought it was divine. She then put the drink down and turned to the waiter "I'd like the barbecue shrimp dip. At least to start." Heart said to the waiter.
Alastor nodded and replied, "I'm going to have the same as the beautiful belle next to me." He chirped, draping an arm behind her. The waiter wrote everything down, gave a smile and nod then went to put the order in.
Heart blushed slightly at his words and then enjoyed the feeling of his arm around her.
"You two look so swell together! I hope you both become fella and gal someday!" Kristen chirped at them sipping her drink.
Heart looked at Alastor a moment and saw him smile at her. She turned back to her friend with a shy smile, "Well actually. About that." She paused for a moment. "We were waiting to tell you till tonight so I found it only to be fair." She got a little excited. "Alastor and I... are dating now."
Kristen gasped and then squealed excitedly "Ah! Heart! Alastor! Congratulations! Rosie dear isn't this exciting!? I was hoping they would!" Rosie smiled at her girlfriend being right and seeing her hope come to fruition. Deep down she knew something was up and was glad her friend Alastor found a wonderful woman.
Heart giggled happily from her friend's excitement. She was expecting that kind of reaction and she honestly wouldn't have wanted anything else. She knew her friend would have been this excited for them.
"Congratulations to the both of you, you must answer me this, how did you both know you were meant for each other? What sparked that fire I see in the both of you?" Rosie asked, sipping her rosé.
The black-haired woman looked at Alastor a moment. "I'm honestly not sure. We just seem to kind of click." She turned back to Rosie. "Besides him being an amazing gentleman. He is funny and knows how to make me laugh, he is handsome, he likes books like me, plus that smile is contagious." She said with a tiny giggle.
"Oh ho my dear you give me too much credit. How could someone not fall for you, sweet one. You're beautiful, smart, and have the most compassion I've seen. I do love your sense of humor as well, the fact that you laugh at my jokes too." The radio host added, kissing her forehead.
"Well, they are funny." She admitted softly to him. She blushed a little at his words. He was being all too kind to her.
The two females across from them looked at the two with such a loving gaze. They were happy that their friends found each other. They just seemed like they would last a lifetime. They sure hoped so as well.
The waiter came and brought the food for everyone and refilled their drinks, "Thank you, well everyone enjoys the food and drink, you're welcome to go dance and explore as well at your leisure. No need to be tethered to us since you both are together."
"I'm going to eat first and then go boogie!" Heart said with a cheer
"Sounds like a wonderful plan mon cher" he chuckled digging into his shrimp.
Heart then went to take a bite of the food. "Mm, this is amazing." She says with her mouth still a little full. Then swallows. "Sorry, my manors went out the window."
"Hehe! It's alright sweet pea this is a night to have fun and let loose!" Kristen said in regard to her manners.
"Well, I guess you're right." She looked towards Alastor. "You'll dance with me, right Al?"
"Of course, I will mon petite loup~" He cooed giving her a kiss.
Heart wiggled in her seat with excitement and went to take another bite of food. She honestly was enjoying the night already and they haven't even done much. She was honestly glad her first date was a double because she probably would have been nervous.
"Y'all are so cute together! I couldn't be happier for you two! We can do more double dates too!" Kristen beams.
"Haha, yes my little canary, we absolutely can. It will be a wonderful idea." Rosie said patting Kristen's head then kissing her cheek.
Heart blushed. "Oh stop." She waved her hand at her. "Although I will say that you two are adorable as well." She said, smirking.
Kristen gave a squeak of embarrassment and blushed hiding In Rosie's shoulder. "Haha, oh Heart keep going, she is so adorable when she gets flustered." Rosie teased, causing Alastor to chuckle along.
Heart laughed. "I know I can be the same way as well." She says blushing. "I will say though Rosie, I thank you for helping out my friend so much."
"Of course, dear, she deserves it and I am absolutely fortunate to have found her. She completes me and makes me happy. I only hope I do the same for her." Rosie said then nuzzling her hiding girlfriend.
"I'm absolutely sure you do. I can tell." Heart says smiling
Kristen giggled then snuck a kiss on Rosie's cheek then hid again.
"Ah such lovely darlings you definitely deserve each other!" Alastor cheered them raised his glass to toast. "I'd like to toast to you ladies being so wonderful and that you keep gaining happiness," he then turns to heart "and to you my darling I toast to you, without you I am nothing. You are the light in my life I've been missing. I love you." He said with a soft loving look on his face.
Heart grabbed her drink while Alastor talked and when he turned to her, she felt her chest flutter with so much love. She looked at him lovingly. "I couldn't agree more. Without you I don't even know if I would be here. I love you too."
Rosie and Kristen raised their glasses too. "To us, that we as couples and individuals continue to grow in our happiness." Rosie spoke, then everyone toasted their glasses together and drank.
"Amen to that." Heart said softly and then took a sip of her drink. Then went back to eating as well. Heart placed a hand on Alastor's thigh as a comfort for her, making sure the man next to her didn't disappear. Nor feel like this was all a dream. Alastor had no issue having Heart touch him and he established that with her. Her touch was always welcome and comforting. She felt the same way of course, so when he laid her hand on his thigh, his big hand swallowed hers on top and held it tenderly.
Heart's chest warmed a bit at his touch and it made the bad thoughts go away. He was here, he was real and he wasn't going anywhere. That made her happy.
He leaned in and gave a whisper so she could hear, "I'm right here my little wolf, I'm not going anywhere." He then kissed her cheek and went back to eating. Alastor knew Heart struggles with bad thoughts and if he was really with her, so he did his best to remind her of the wonderful reality that he was indeed hers and she was indeed his.
Heart smiled more at his words and it calmed her a bit. She looked over at him and then leaned up to give him a soft kiss on his lips. "Thank you." She husky whispered to him once she pulled away.
The group ate more and talked while sipping on their drinks, not even getting a buzz yet. They talked about what was going on around town, and even in the country itself. Kinda boring after a while so Alastor got the idea to sell Heart for a dance. He stood up and bent at his waist with his hand extended to her. "Fair lady, will you do me the honor of cutting a rug?"
Heart looked at him and gave a chuckle but was giddy with excitement now. "I would absolutely love to." She answers as she takes his hand and stands up.
Kristen was so giddy to see this happen. She was still working on her dish. "Go have fun you two! Flaunt your stuff on that dance floor!" She called as they began to head down to dance.
"I will! Don't you worry." Heart called back behind her. The two got down to the dance floor. Heart's smile was wide and she was excited. She pulled Alastor along more and got to the dance floor.
"Haha whoa dear easy you're pulling harder than a hound on a game scent." He chuckled as she pulled him.
"Sorry hon, I guess I was a little more excited than I thought." She gave him an embarrassed chuckle. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"
"No never darling, I am your strong buck remember?" He leaned down and gave her an Eskimo kiss.
Heart smiled, "That you are my buck. That you are." She says and 'kisses' him back. "Now, how about we dance and lose some of the night?"
"I say, let's put these other couples to shame with our dancing my darling." He smirked and winks taking her into his arms in the dancing position and let her lead.
Heart chuckled and nodded. She then started to move slow at first but picked it up to the beat of the music. She was already enjoying herself and was enjoying the time with Alastor as well
"There's my darling, hot as Cajun seasoning in jambalaya!" Alastor laughed, having a ball with his gal.
"If you say so." She laughed. "Any time with you is a wonderful time." She manages to tell him. They were tearing it up song after song. At one point, Heart turned around in his arms and ran the back end of herself down Alastor's body and back up. She grinned as she did this and turned back around to him. Alastor was shocked at her gesture. He blushed redder than his suit. Honestly, he didn't know how to react. He didn't realize he stopped dancing completely as he was sweating a little.
Heart gave a chuckle at seeing how he had stopped moving and was just dazed. "Sorry my buck, did I do too much?" She asked him just to be sure even though she had a wide smile on her face.
"A-ah...I think...I need to sit and have some water...I'm dehydrated!" Alastor said, hurrying back to the table...leaving Heart on the floor all alone.
"O-Ok." Heart said a little uneasy.
She stood there a moment as she watched him walk away. She wasn't expecting him to do that, maybe it was too much? She rubbed her arm a little embarrassed about what she did. The song changed then to something that was more on the slow side and she felt weird being on the dance floor all alone, so she left and went to the bathroom to see if she needed to fix her dress or her makeup. In honesty she just wanted to hide since some of the others on the dancefloor were looking at her. As she walked away though, she looked to the stage at the man singing and something kind of popped into her head. As much as she didn't like people looking at her and having the attention, something wanted her to go up on that stage and she wasn't sure what. It almost pulled on her. She tried to ignore this feeling and continued to the restroom.
Alastor made it back to the table a bit frazzled and caused Rosie to give a chuckle. "What's wrong Al? Did she give you too much heat?"
"A-ah... perhaps... it was... a little more than I could handle. I know she meant no harm and was only doing natural things but I-I." The man stammered, still a little uneasy.
"Woah woah sugarplum easy... this is your first date being a couple in public and it can be a nerve-wracking experience. It's alright you're not used to such things." Kristen consoled him by pouring him some water from a pitcher on the table.
"Thank you dear." He said before downing the water.
"You didn't leave her out there by herself, did you?" Rosie asked cocking a brow.
Alastor put down his glass after chugging the water. "I-uh...ow! What the-" He didn't get a chance to finish as Rosie bonked him on the head with a napkin.
"You never leave a gal, let alone YOURS, alone on a dance floor and run away!" She hissed.
"Rosie it's alright the poor man has no clue to navigate his feelings he's never experienced before. Remember he's still innocent and inexperienced. Unlike you and I." Kristen soothed to her partner.
Rosie gave a small sigh, "Well... I suppose your right little canary, either way, go speak to her and just let her know it caught you by surprise. Did you hate it?"
"No! - I-I mean uh…" Alastor was at a loss.
"Go with how your body responded Al, was it all tingly and electrifying?" Kristen wondered.
"Yes but-"
"That's normal! It's completely normal, go and get Heart and bring her back up here so Rosie can get you a spare quiet little corner so you two can do some talkin!" Kristen said getting up and nudging Alastor until he went back to find his gal.
Alastor left the two girls behind and back down to the dance floor. He did his best to weave around and find Heart. He couldn't find her anywhere and began to panic a little "Heart? Heart darling?" He called out to the crowd.
Heart got to the bathroom and hid away in one of the stalls. No one was in there right now so it made it perfect. She just sat there and played with the end of her dress. She didn't want to cry and she tried hard not to. She was just so confused.
She sighed. "I guess I should apologize. I shouldn't have done something like that to him. It was so sudden." She whispered to herself. She gave another sigh and stood up. She left the stall and looked at herself in the mirror. She fixed her dress and her hair a little bit as well as the flower in her hair. She left the restroom and stood there beside the stage for a moment, the singer was taking a break, having some water.
Heart walked up to him slowly, "Excuse me sir." She said to get his attention.
The African American man looked at her with a smile. "Well, hello there, Miss. How can I help you?"
Heart got nervous for a moment. "I hope it's ok to ask, but would it be possible if I could get up on stage and sing a song?" She asked.
"A song huh? You can make a request with me if you want." The man told her.
Heart shook her head. "I'd love that, but I want it to be special and for me to sing it, if that is, ok? It's for the man I'm with tonight. I just want to show him I care for him."
The man smiled. "Well Miss, if it's for your man on a special night, then I think I can make an exception." He said smiling.
The woman's smile went wide. "Really? Oh goodness, thank you Sir. I appreciate it so much."
He nodded. "One moment. Let me talk to my boys." He said and went to the stage.
Heart was nervous as she walked up the steps and stood on the edge of the stage. The singer stood beside her.
"You got this girl. I talked to my band. They are all ready for you." The singer informed her as he walked back over to her.
Heart nodded and took a breath. "Thank you again."
"Knock em dead sister." The singer encouraged her.
She soon walked out onto the stage and up to the mic slowly. She tried to not let all the people looking at her distract her. She took another breath. She looked back to the band behind her and nodded.
The band started up a moment and Heart was trying too mentally ready herself
Alastor looked around frantically then something caught his eye on stage. She was there?! With... another man... but... she looked she was about to sing... he stood and had his eyes glued on her and waited to see what would happen.
Heart took a breath and started to sing, much to her surprise, she was doing it.
"May this tenderness cling
When the fire of Spring
Is a memory
May you still be my own
When a hundred years have flown
But if it can't be
Give this moment to me
While our dream is bright
Put your sweet arms around me
And love me tonight
Love me tonight
Let me feel your lips on mine"
She started to sing and when she started all her nerves calmed a little.
Alastor stood mouth agape as he heard her song. His stomach churned around with the butterflies. his ears not getting enough of her melodious sound.
Heart looked up at the crowd and was surprised to see people actually dancing. She was glad the people weren't weirded out by her starting to sing.
"And though I pray
Forever and a day I'll be
Possessing you
I'll confess to you"
Alastor's smile returned while he continued to watch her performance. Walking closer to the stage slowly not taking his eyes off her.
"If I knew that our love would be gone
With the stars in the dawn's grey light
I'd still hold you close and whisper"
As she took a small pause, she managed to spot Alastor in the crowd. She smiled at him.
"Love me tonight"
He blushed when she made eye contact with him and said those words. His heart soared above any cloud nine that ever existed. When the song died, she saw Alastor standing closer to the stage.
Heart smiled at him and then turned to the singer. "Thank you again sir."
The man gave a small bow. "Your welcome doll. You have a wonderful set of pipes. You should be on stage more." He told her.
Heart shook her head. "No, it's not really my thing. Thank you though. Plus thank you again for letting me have this moment." She says and walks to the end of the stage towards the steps.
Alastor saw her walk off the stage as he looked up at her, eyes sparkling and dazzling. His heart wanted to pound out of his chest. It was going so fast. He had to say something to her when she got closer, he felt stupid for running off.
"H-heart" he kind of croaked a bit being nervous
Heart walked up to the man after she got off the stage and stood in front of him. "Yes Al?" She wondered as she looked up at him. She was happy to see him but part of her still regretted what she did to him
"I-I'm... sorry my darling... Please forgive me for running off... I-I-" the poor man was a stuttering mess looking like he wanted to cry after losing his composure when she talked to him.
The woman saw the sadness in his eyes and she walked forward and grabbed his hands in hers. "Don't be sorry. I'm the one who should be sorry. I shouldn't have done that to you." She told him.
When she held his hands, he felt even closer to crying, feeling like a fool. He didn't want to make her advances feel unwelcomed. he never had them before. His eyes were glossy behind his specs and tried to hold in his tears. The man usually never cries, but he was scared to lose Heart because of his reaction to her advances "I-I..."
Heart placed a finger to his lips "You want to talk in private, my love?" She asked him softly.
He nodded quickly, wiping a tear away before it could fall, shaking slightly. Heart grabbed his hand and led him away. They went up to the private rooms and went inside and she sat him down.
As soon as he sat down with her, he shook and began to cry avoiding her eyes feeling absolutely ashamed. He fell apart in front of her and made her feel bad all because he didn't know how to handle these goddamn feelings. Curse them!
Heart looked at him sadly and sat down. She wrapped an arm around him and rubbed his top arm. She let him cry, she wanted him to get it all out.
"I-I...didn't mean…to-o react t-the way I did...dear." The radio host managed to get out. "I-I didn't know... how... t-to... I-I liked it... I did! This... I-it's unfamiliar and...a-and ..." He rambled crying all the way, still shaking a little.
Heart frowned as she watched him cry, she felt her chest constrict. "Al, its fine." She said softly. "I shouldn't have done that and be so straightforward." She added.
"N- no I'm... I'm supposed to like things like that! You're... I-I read its what gals do when they get in the mood! I-I just didn't expect it so soon... a-and it never happened before…" The man said sniffling, taking off his specks. He grabbed his handkerchief from his pocket to clean them and then wipe his face.
"My buck, please calm down." Heart says gently. "Please look at me." She puts one of her hands under his chin.
He put his cheaters back on slowly shaking less and tried his best to look at her. His eyes were slightly red from crying his brows furrowed and smile gone.
"Don't beat yourself up over its Al. I'm sorry...I shouldn't have done that to you. It will be ok. I promise. I wasn't hurt by your reaction. I was more upset of you leaving. At the same time, I should have just followed you to reassure you."
He stayed silent and looked down again hearing her words. He was trying so hard and... it didn't seem it was working.
"Hey, it's in the past. We learn from that. We learn from things. Things like this will happen. We can get through it." Heart told him with a small smile.
"Are you sure you want to be my gal Heart?" He asked in a very sad, deflated voice.
Heart continued to smile at him. "One hundred percent I do." She tells him. "You've been the nicest man to me since I've moved here. Your friends with my friend. You've made my stay here so welcoming. I fell in love with the man who loves to read, loves to cook, even do those silly jokes of yours. And most of all, loves me for who I am." She kissed his cheek softly.
Her kiss to his cheek melted his heart and dispelled the sadness he had there. His smile came back as he looked at her lovingly. She truly was the most splendid and beautiful gal on this Earth. And she was his entire world at this point. He bent down and gently held her face in his hands as he drew her into a kiss.
She leaned into his touch as his hands went to her face. His warm hands covered her cheeks. When he leaned down to kiss her, she let out a breath through her nose in satisfaction and then kissed him back. She wrapped her arms under him and gently rubbed his back as they kissed. Alastor felt calmer than he ever did, being with Heart. The kiss felt so loving and warm his heart beating normal and steady with a happiness he hasn't felt in quite some time. Feeling near her ... knowing she won't leave him.
Heart pulled away from their kiss a little to take a breath. "I love you." She managed to breathe out to him. She gently kissed his lips again. "Love you so much."
"Je'taime Mon preciuex petite loup~" Alastor whispered softly in return, pressing his forehead against hers gently.
Heart had picked up a little bit of the French he spoke but understood what he said. She was learning as well; behind his back she was reading a few French dictionaries to help her with words. "Je'taime Alastor." She gave him a little eskimo kiss.
Alastor nearly fell off the chair he was sitting in when he heard her say that. His blush was redder than his suit, "D-darling, that was perfect French!" His smile grew and his eyes lit up at her.
Heart giggled from that. "I learned from you that is why." She tells him as she boops his nose. "And I may or may not be teaching myself here and there." She added with a slight blush
"My love, you continue to surprise me and I adore you." He said tenderly his heart warmed to the core of his stomach. He brought her into a hug and held her "I love you. You are my world and I have no idea how I was able to deserve you as my gal." He whispered.
Heart hugs him back tightly. "I love you too. I have no idea how I got an amazing gentleman like yourself. Makes me feel lucky." She tells him.
They let each other go slightly from their hug.
"Well, my darling, what would you like now? I am at your request to be sure the rest of your night goes smoothly." Alastor nuzzled the woman.
Heart looked at him shyly. "Can we...maybe go back and dance a little more?"
"Of course, my darling! Let us be on our way to dance!" He said springing to his feet and taking her hand leading out the door to the dance floor.
Heart laughed at his response and quickly followed behind him. They got back to the dance floor and they were in the middle of a song. Heart pulled the man out onto the dance floor and quickly got into the groove of it. They both were the hottest couple on the floor as their feet danced for almost an hour. Alastor loosened up more having that talk with Heart. The woman tried to be more careful with her dance moves. Making only tiny sexy ones here and there for him. It was honestly fun. Soon though the songs slowed and there was another slow song.
"How about this be the last one? I'm pretty tired." Heart says.
"I couldn't agree more my darling. Here-" he said, catching his breath and positioning them for a slow loving dance.
Heart wrapped her arms around him and they leaned into each other to keep themselves steady as they swayed to the song. The singer was singing a song by Nat King Cole called I Love You For Sentimental Reasons
I love you
For sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
I'll give you my heart
"Are you alright my darling?" Alastor asked, whispering to her making sure she was comfortable and happy in his arms.
I love you
And you alone were meant for me
"I'm perfectly fine. This is perfect. You're perfect." She answered him as she lays her head on his chest.
Please give your loving heart to me
And say we'll never apart
"Good my little wolf, only perfection for you." He whispered, kissing her forehead.
I think of you every morning
Dream of you every night
Heart just smiled wide as she danced with him. It honestly felt like a dream. She didn't want to wake up from it if it was. She looked up at him and just in her eyes he seemed to shine and he was just amazing. She almost just felt lost in his face.
"My dear, you look as though you're daydreaming. Am I lulling you to sleep?" He gave a chuckle.
Darling, I'm never lonely
Whenever you are in sight
"No." She answers him. "I'm not tired. I'm just lost in you." She admitted to him. "Taking in all those handsome features."
He leaned in with a smirk, "Well I can be lost in you too...later on if you'd like, taking in all your gorgeous features." He whispered.
Heart gave a blush and just smiled up at him. "I'm afraid I'm not much to take in, sir." She tells him.
"That is a lie my darling, you have so much I desire. I want every single bit of you." The radio host said in reply, kissing her cheek.
I love you
For sentimental reasons
She looked at him lovingly. "First time I've ever been told that by a gentleman. Maybe I'll give you that pleasure then. I've never really felt good about myself...maybe you can change that." She said with a hopeful smile.
"I would be honored, my wolf, I would love to show you what I see and feel when I'm with you. You make me feel like the luckiest fella to live." He nuzzled her.
I hope you do believe me
I've given you my heart
"You're so sweet to me Al. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve you." She says as she nuzzles him back. "Although, I say we should go visit our friends one last time before we head home for the evening."
I love you
For sentimental reasons
"I think that's a splendid idea." Alastor agreed. "I'm sure those two were having a time of their own. Like us, they are quite adorable. They were the ones who helped me go back out to find you when I was a bit frazzled. Rosie bumped me on the head with a napkin too. Knocked some sense into me."
"I say good. Although it was nice to sing up on stage." When she heard about the napkin part she giggled. "A napkin? My goodness you weren't seriously injured where you?" She asked in a fake worried tone and patted his head.
"It was awful I started bleeding and everything!" He said dramatically falling back a little swooning
I hope you do believe me
I've given you my heart
The song finally ended and the two had stopped dancing.
"Oh, you poor baby." She says, still giggling. "Maybe we should get you home right away to take care of that."
"Mm perhaps but it is I who will take care of you." Alastor purred.
Heart blushed again. "Oh, stop it you." She smacked his arm playfully. She grabbed his hand. "Come on, let's go say goodnight to Rosie and Kristen. Plus thank them for tonight."
"Alright my dear lead the charge." He chuckled as he shielded himself from her smacking him playfully then had his hand grabbed.
Heart shook her head and headed back up to the private room and saw Rosie and Kristen still there enjoying themselves. Rosie and her partner were sharing a kiss when she and Alastor returned. Alastor cleared his throat.
"Oh! Beg our pardons sweet peas, got a little lost. Did you enjoy yourselves?" Kristen asked, blushing as she noticed her two friends in the room now while Rosie adjusted her disheveled clothing and hair with lipstick marks on her face.
Heart smirked at her friends. "Were we interrupting?" She asked.
"No no we're fine I promise ahaha!" Kristen said sheepishly.
"Hmm yes I see that. Well ladies we were just coming up to thank you for a wonderful time. We are quite exhausted and will be making our way home now." Alastor said smirking too with a chuckle, eying Rosie's current conditions.
Heart chuckled as well. "Yes, thank you so much for tonight. It was a wonderful time. We should do it again sometime."
"Aw you both are welcome any time." Kristen said getting up to hug her friend's goodbye
Heart went to her friend to return the hug and held her tightly. "I'll see you tomorrow for work." She says as she pulls away.
"Yes, indeed sweet pea! You both take care goin home!" She says as Alastor allowed her to hug him. He never allowed contact like that unless it was his gal or his dear friend. She's been through so much and she's been like a sister to him. He very well knew she was a hugger and never minded it.
"Thank you, with Alastor I feel I'll be as safe as can be." Heart says smiling as she leaned into Alastor when Kristen was done hugging him.
"Well, my dears, We will see you later on at some point, take it easy and cut a rug or two on our behalf." Alastor said before they took their leave.
Well at least the made the end of the date nice and special. Oh these two are a ride for sure.
Also i would like to add this note for my readers. I wanted to remind those of you that this is a RP turned FAN FICTION. Now if we recall a fanfiction is a made up story by a fan of something, which also means that things DO NOT have to be exactly as they are or should be. We can make it up as we go or add what we want. Say what we want. The only limit we have is our imagination. We get the point across don't we? As Fiction, nothing has to be true. Its up to fantasy. So please, PLEASE, don't comment giving me history lessons on how i am saying something wrong or how this song or that song doesn't fit because its not from the correct time period. News Flash, I don't care and im going to do what i want. If your going to sit there and criticize me about what I'm writing because its not historically correct then i don't want to hear from you. Please...keep your comments to yourself.
Now grammar issues and spelling, I'm ok with that. No one is perfect and some things will slip through the cracks of editing. So that I'm ok with that. I encourage it. But when I'm writing something that is FICTIONAL not everything is going to be historically accurate. I'm going to do what i want weather its correct or not.
Thank you guys. Have a good one.
