The Cobra Kai students were standing outside the stadium that would be hosting the All Valley. Miguel was on the side throwing punches at the air. "Alright, he's starting to scare me." Lee whispers, hiding behind Hawk. The murderous look on her friend's face was putting everyone on edge.

"Yo, Miguel, calm down man. Save some for the tournament." Hawk calls to him. Miguel glanced over before going back to fighting the air.

"Hey, don't bother. He's been super aggro since the breakup." Aisha taps his shoulder.

"At least he'll have a good outlet for that aggression today." Lee was hoping to get her puppy back. Being around the feral dog wasn't pleasant.

"Where's Sensei? The tournament is going to start soon." Hawk looked around.

"He'll be here." Aisha wasn't worried. A Lot of times Johnny showed up right when the practice was supposed to start.

"Yeah, I'm sure he's here already." Lee nods.

"I don't know about that," Bert interjected.

"What do you mean?" She looked down at him.

"I saw him last night at the mini-mall. I was buying a... carton of milk when I heard him in the parking lot. He was drunk off his ass yelling about how we're all going to die." Bert told them.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Aisha glares.

"I don't know. I guess I'm used to seeing him drunk, it didn't seem like a big deal." He shrugs. "Well, we're here, and he's not. So it's officially a big deal. What if something happened to him?" Hawk couldn't believe he didn't mention this right away.

"Like what?" Bert was feeling guilty for not helping him.

"Like he drove his car off the cliff or brought a gun and blew his brains out." Hawk was listing off examples making Bert look like he was about to cry.

"Stop it." She slapped his shoulder. "Don't worry, Bert. Sensei is fine. He might be running a little late because he is hungover but he wouldn't leave us in the lurch." She bent down and put a hand on his shoulder to reassure him.

"Yeah, you're right." He nods.

"Whatever. I mean, we're here. We're going to have to do it without him." Hawk wondered if his fake ID would work here.

"Do what without me?" Johnny walks over to them.

"Sensei." Aisha and Lee cheered seeing him.

"We didn't think you were going to show up," Hawk told him bluntly.

"I may not always win but I never back out of a fight." He wouldn't miss this no matter how bad the night before was.

"Alright, let's sign up." Miguel couldn't wait to start.

"Not yet. There's one more lesson I have to teach you." He took them inside and made them circle around him. "You've all learned to strike first, to be aggressive, not be losers. I taught you to strike hard, to put every ounce of your power behind everything you do. But, I haven't taught you the third rule of Cobra Kai. No Mercy. The older you get, the more you're going to learn that life isn't fair. You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls, takes a big steaming shit in your mouth. You get an F on a test, you get suspended, you fall in love with a girl and some other dude comes and steals her away. Your car gets set on fire. Just when you think things are going good, everything falls apart. That's how it goes." He walks around the circle looking at them in their faces.

"This is depressing," Lee mutters. By the looks on everyone else's face, they were thinking the same.

"Life shows no mercy, so neither do we. We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above water. We do whatever it takes to keep moving forward. We do whatever it takes to win. Remember who you are. You're a badass. You don't give a shit. You kick ass. You're Cobra Kai." He turns his speech around to get them pumped up.

"COBRA KAI!" Miguel screams, getting everyone to echo him.

"Alright guy, let's get down there and kick the shit out of everybody." Johnny got them to cheer again. Miguel grabs his white gi out of his backpack. "No, you're not wearing those…. Moneypenny." He turns to her.

"I got them in the locker room they have set up for us." She led them inside of a locker room that had a paper tape to the door that said, Cobra Kai. She opened up a box and pulled out a black gi.

"This is so cool." Miguel grabs it from her to get a closer look. "I can't wait to wear it."

"Well, that one is small, so pass it to Bert." Lee nods to their smallest male. After passing them out. She walks to look in the stands. Demetri and Moon were saving her a seat. She only found Demetri. "Hey, where's Moon?" She sat down next to him.

"She's getting a drink. What's going on with you guys?" He asked.

"We're experimenting." She shrugs.

"Are you being careful? It would be one thing if it was just sex, but you guys have been hanging out a lot lately. Have you thought this through? What happens if someone ends up only wanting to be with the other and not the third then what?" He didn't want anyone's feelings getting hurt.

"We had this discussion and we all know our positions." She reassured him.

"What if someone is not happy with their position? What if Eli wants to be with Moon and not you?" He got straight to it since she wasn't catching his hints.

"Then, he goes out with her. It was a selfish risk that I'm taking. Is it worth losing him, no but I… I can't help it." Lee was giving in to her desires. She knew she might live to regret it, but when Moon was in front of her she was willing to risk it.

"Hey, babe." Moon sat down next to her and gave her a kiss.

"Hi, ready to see Hawk kick some ass?" She smiled.

"Hey, I can't wait." She nods.

"Welcome, everyone to the 50th annual All Valley under 18 Karate Championship!" A man stood on the mats to get everything started.

"This has been going on for 50 years. Am I the only one that's been out of the loop?" Demetri was shocked at how crowded the place was.

"You'll love the new mats." He laughed. Lee tilts her head, wondering how bad the old mats were that people would take notice of the new ones. "Alright, let's start by welcoming all the local dojos competing today. From Granada Hill, All-Star Karate." He began to introduce the different dojos.

"Fighting out of Topanga, we have Topanga Karate." He points to a group that was wearing blue gis.

A lady in the front row jumped up and screamed."Yeah! Whoo! Topanga! You kick some ass, Xander! Whoo!"

"Is that face paint?" Lee looks at the glitter blue T on her cheeks.

"I hope so," Demetri thought, if not face paint then it's a tattoo.

"From Reseda, returning to the tournament is..." He was interrupted by a group in black gis chanting Cobra Kai as they jogged in to stand in their place. Moon and Lee whistle as they clap. "Now that's what I call an entrance and a badass name for a Dojo. Let's hear it for Cobra Kai."

"Whoo! Go, Hawk!" Moon stood up. Demetri elbowed Lee, making her roll her eyes.

"And finally, fighting unaffiliated from North Hills, we have Mr. Robby Keene." He announced.

"Oh fuck." Lee cursed at seeing the boy that Miguel was holding so much rage for jogging onto the mat.

"Alright folks get ready, it's karate time." He smiled at the audience cheering.

Miguel was going against someone wearing a red gi. "What's that stance?" Demetri was confused when he bent one knee up to his chest and put his arms out to the side.

"The crane, it looks stupid but it's badass." Lee kept her eyes on her friend. She cheers and claps when he kicks the boy in the face. Miguel got the next two points easily. "Yeah Miguel, you got this." She stood up to yell when he won.

Hawk was up against a guy from Cutting Edge Karate. He needed one more point to win the match. "Come on." She whispers when he gets kicked in the chest. He was able to get the guy with a running elbow to the face. The referee had to grab him when Hawk went to attack again. The referee put his hand up in the air. Hawk let out a loud scream with the audience. He took off his gi and flexed for the crowd. "Damn, he is so hot." Moon gasped when he turned his back to us to make the tattooed Hawk flap its wings.

"I cannot believe this is actually working." Demetri narrows his eyes at Moon. Johnny had to yell at him to get off the mat.

Lee watches from between her fingers as Bert goes up against a much bigger opponent. With a lot of unnecessary flips, the guy was able to kick Bert down every time. "My God, is there no weight class?" Demetri hides his face in Lee's shoulder.

It was the quarter-finals and Miguel was going up against the guy that beat Bert. "Come on, Miguel do this for Bert." Lee cheers. This time the unnecessary kicks weren't able to intimidate or distract his opponent. After kicking him in the face Miguel got his third point. Hawk and Robby were also able to make it to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, Xander was able to beat Aisha. She ran off the mats, not shaking the guy's hand and shrugging off Sensei.

"She's a sore loser," Demetri stated the obvious.

"The only people she lost against are Miguel and Hawk. She is not always graceful even then." Lee shook her head in disappointment.

The four were brought out by the host. "Let's give it up for all our competitors. You're all winners. We have seen some great fighting today haven't we?"

"We can take first and second." Lee was happy that it was Robby vs Hawk and Miguel vs Xander.

After the crowd died down the host went on. "We can only have one true winner and he is standing on this stage right now. Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai Karate?" Lee looks over her shoulder at his grandma and mother cheering.

"Will it be Hawk… Well, I guess it's just Hawk from Cobra Kai Karate?" He was surprised the guy was just going by a nickname. Lee stood up and wolf-whistled. Moon laughed as she clapped.

"Moskowitz, Eli Moskowitz." Demetri sighs.

"Will it be Robby Keene, unaffiliated?" He points at the teen. He got a cheer, the crowd seeing him as an undog since he didn't have a dojo. "And last but certainly not least, last year's champion fighting out of Topanga Karate, Xander Stone!" He did a couple of flips to take the microphone from the host.

"I love you, Xander! You're my boy." His mother in the front row screamed.

"I feel bad for whatever girl tries to marry him." Lee watches the mom's boy.

"She's gonna be a monster in law." Demetri agreed.

"I just wanted to say even though I love to fight we all need to fight together against hatred. And as I look around this arena, I pray for every race, religion, and gender that we can all live together in peace. Please join me in a moment of silence as we strive to end intolerance in our time." Everyone was forced to bow their heads.

"Miguel better kick his ass." Lee was annoyed at him for making a big speech when he didn't even win yet.

"Alright, first up is Diaz vs Stone. Let's go," Everyone got off the mat but the two teens. The match was more even than Miguel's others. They were able to dodge each other's hits. It took a while for either to land a hit.

"Go on! Now punch him in the face, Xander." Mother Dearest yelled. "Use your hands! Come on!" She was getting frustrated when he missed another kick on Miguel.

"Come on, Miguel," Lee screams when he also misses a few of his kicks but cheers when he lands one on Xander's face sending him to the ground. "That's 2-1. Miguel needs one more and he wins." Lee was at the edge of her seat.

"That's alright, baby. Two more and mama is back in the finals." Xander's mom stood up to scream.

"Mamas?" Lee made a face in disgust. Like the other guy from his dojo, he does a lot of fancy moves to try to distract his opponent. Miguel moves back to stay out of his range. "Come on, Miguel take this Mama's boy down." Lee stood up to scream over the crowd. When the lady in blue whipped around to see who said that, Demetri yanked her down into her seat. Miguel waited for an opening from his fancy flips to kick him in the ribs taking the air out of his lungs.

The referee put his hand in the air while his mom screamed bullshit. Her son had more class and shook Miguel's hand. "Miguel Diaz is headed to the finals. Hawk vs Keene is next."

Robby walked on stage while Hawk jumped up. He was excited to kick the guy's ass for Miguel and for hitting on his girlfriend. After bowing to the referee and each other they got in a fighting position. Rob came out with a kick then didn't come close. He left himself wide up for Hawk to pick him up, slam him to the ground and deliver a rib shot.

They got into their starting stance. "Remember what you learned, Robby!" Mr. LaRusso stood up.

"So, that's who taught Robby." Lee figures out how Robby and Sam meet. "This victory is going to be even sweeter for Sensei."

Robby took a deep breath as the referee started the next round. This time Robby was able to dodge Hawks' kick and deliver his own to Hawk's face.

Hawk got up to get in Robby's face. "That was a lucky point. It's gonna be your last."

"Why? Leaving early to fix that stupid haircut. Don't worry, I'll make sure Lee is taken care of." He smirks, making Hawk see red. When he turns his back to him, Hawk pushes through the referee to kick Robby in the shoulder.

"What the hell is he doing?" Lee growled. She was surprised when Johnny ran over to check on the other guy.

"With that disqualification, Keene earns a trip to the finals. We'll see him back here after this short break." The host announced.

"He didn't earn it, the idiot handed it to him." She got up to meet him outside in the hallway. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"What? He was disrespecting me and you. No one is going to do that." He hissed.

"You know what would have been showing him, beating him. Then we will be having a Cobra Kai final." She glares.

"Yeah, that would have been great but what's done is done." He shrugs, showing no remorse for what he did.

"You don't feel sick that you just wasted how many months of training?" She squints.

"I have two more years to win. This year I showed no mercy, I bet next time I step on that mat they'll know not to mess with me." He smirks.

"Unbelieve." She turned around to walk away.

"Don't walk away from me." He grabs her arm to pull back.

"Ah, Hawk." She whines at the grip he had on her arm. He let go when he saw her face twisted in pain.

"I'm sorry, just don't walk away when we're arguing." He took a deep breath to calm himself.

"The break is almost over, I'm going to get to my seat." She told him.

"Okay… I'll see you after?" He asks. She nods before she walks away.

The host was back in the center. "This is it, folks. The moment we've all been waiting for. The final match to determine who will be the victor and champion. Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai?" He pointed over to Miguel. Lee was back in the stand. She cheered alongside Moon and Demetri.

"Will it be Robby Keene, unaff…." A lady ran up to him. "Daniel LaRusso is going to coach. Sorry, folks, there has been a change. Robby Keene will now be fighting for Miyagi-Do Karate with former champion Daniel LaRusso as his sensei."

"So, Sensei Lawerence won twice too." She glares at the host for making a big deal out of LaRusso. After wishing them good luck, the host walks off the mat.

They bow to the referee and each other before the referee starts the round. Miguel went in kicking and swinging. Robby was able to kick him in the stomach to knock him down. "He got to calm down and focus." Lee watched as his emotions were getting the better of him.

They got back into a fighting stance. This time Miguel didn't rush in. He let Robby make the first move. He dodges it and waits for his moment to kick him in his hurt shoulder, knocking Robby to the ground. "That's the way." Lee clapped.

"That's the way? He kicked his sore shoulder." Demetri looks at her confused.

"It's strategy, why wouldn't you go for your opponent's weak point?" She glanced at her friend like he was being childishly naive before looking back at the mat.

The next round started and Miguel stuck to his weak side making Robby use his left arm. He whines as he holds it. Miguel swipes his legs and strikes his hurt shoulder again. LaRusso jumps on the mat as he calls a time-out. The referee had to push Miguel to his side. When LaRusso got off the mat, Miguel went back on. Robby held his hurt arm to his ribs while fighting Miguel off with the other arm and pushing him out of boundaries. They had to go back to their starting stance. The referee started the match. Miguel fake going one way to shove Robby down and kick him in the hurt shoulder again. Robby lifts himself up with one arm to kick Miguel in the chest. "Oh, that's badass." Demetri gasps, getting a glare from Lee. "What, you have to admit that was impressive?"

"Stop talking." She hissed in his face before going back to watching the match. Robby stuck his hand out for Miguel to yank him down. The referee gave him a warning. The crowd booed. "Don't lose your cool." She mutters, wishing she was down there with them. But, only Sensei and students were allowed there.

The match was now a tie and the next point would win. The referee started the last round. The two dance around each other. Miguel caught Robby's leg when he went for a kick and he held it while he kicked him in the shoulder. He did a spinning kick to his stomach knocking him down. Lee and Moon held each other as they screamed at the top of their lungs. The Cobra Kai kids ran on the mat to surround the champ.

The Host came on stage. "Who saw that coming? I know I didn't. With further ado, let me present this trophy to this year's new champion, Miguel Diaz, and the Cobra Kai Dojo." Miguel held up the trophy as he roared. "Is there anything you want to say to the people, son?" The Host asked him.

"I just wanna say that if it wasn't for my sensei, I wouldn't be here. So this is for Sensei Johnny Lawerence and the Cobra Kai!" He gave the microphone back as they began to chant Cobra Kai. Moon, Lee, and Demetri made their way down. "Hey, Miguel. You were amazing." She hugged him.

"You were great, man. Listen, I'm reconsidering joining Cobra Kai. I'm still not into the idea of getting hit in the face and all but I respect the safety-in-number aspect of joining a gang." Demetri told him as Miguel looked around.

"Have you seen Sam?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, but she left a while ago," Demetri answered.

"Okay." He looked down at his feet.

"This is your victory, don't let her ruin it." Lee pats his shoulder as they walk past him. She let out a small scream when she was picked up and spun around. Hawk put her back down but kept his arms around her waist.

He put his forehead against hers. "Are you still mad at me?"

"I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. I could be going home with a champion." She teased. He let out a chuckle as he kissed her.
