Cobra Kai was celebrating their win. "I'm gonna go live, guys." With the phone in hand, Aishia got out of the booth when the nachos were given to them. "So, you might be wondering what a team does after they win a championship. The answer….Victory Nacho." She zooms in on the plate and then on Lee shoving a loaded nacho into her mouth. "It was supposed to be a round of drinks, but the waitress was not feeling Hawk's fake id."
"Hey, don't talk about that, my parents follow you." He whispers.
"Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Moskowitz…. Anyways until next time, no mercy, bitches." She ended the Instagram live and sat back in the booth.
"I gotta say it's nice to be at a victory party." He grabbed a nacho.
Hawk snatched it away before he could eat it. "Yeah, except you had nothing to do with the victory." He eats it with a smirk.
"Neither did Lee but you let her eat." He whines.
"Hey, I did all the paperwork so they could be in the tournament. Sensei is not good at that kind of stuff. It was a lot of writing, my hand was cramping up towards the end." She held up her dominant hand. Moon, who was sitting at the head of the table next to her, coos as she grabs her hand to massage it. "Aw, that feels nice." She sighs.
"Then, I'll consider it a belated party for the coding competition we won at computer camp. Remember?" Demetri didn't take notice of Hawk's frown as he began to sing and do a robot dance. "Demetri and Eli. Binary Brothers." The girls laughed.
"Hey. Cool it with nerd shit, huh?" He leaned over to whisper.
"Beauty, Brawns, and Brains. It is not fair for someone to have it all." Lee grabs his hand to squeeze it under the table.
"I'm a rare breed." He leans back in his seat to let her know he was letting it go.
"Hey, where's Miguel? The wings are getting cold." Moon said, making them look around.
"I'll get him." Lee got up with Hawk following after her. They were able to find him sitting at a table by himself.
"El Serpiente, there you are." Hawk did a snake motion with his hand.
"I don't know if you notice but a party is going on over there in your honor." She nods to where their group was.
"She blocked me." He stares at his phone. She looked down to see that he wasn't able to find Sam on Instagram.
"So what happens when you get blocked? You counterpunch. Except, maybe you don't hit her." He laughed but stopped when he saw his girlfriend's face. "What… too soon? All I'm saying is don't give up."
"It's no use. I blew any shot I had with her." He sighs.
"So what, you are the champ now. You can get any chick in the Valley that you want. You're like Drake. Enjoy it." Hawk got up to join their group.
"I'm not sure I want to be Drake." He told Lee.
"Don't worry, you're not." She pats his arms. After sharing a look they laughed. "Look, Sensei's mistake wasn't losing Ally, it was never letting her go. When he talks about her now, there is still a sparkle in his eyes. That is the reason that none of his relationships have worked since. You have to let Sam go if you want to be happy in the future. Because she showed you today that she does not care about you."
"Because she blocked me?" He asked.
"No, because she left the tournament after your first win. That's how much your happiness upset her. She has a history of cutting people out when they no longer fit her image. So, unless you plan to quit Cobra Kai and join Miyagi-Do, she's not going to get back with you." She gave him the harsh truth.
"I would never leave Cobra Kai." Lee was shocked when he stood up to join their friends. It seems like his love for their dojo overruled everything else.
Hawk and Miguel pulled up to the Dojo on their motor Razor scooters. "Alright, so I get my license next week. My mom's going to give him her Sentra. I'm thinking about putting a blue stripe down the middle, hood to tail. I'm gonna surprise Lee by picking her up for once." His excited smile made Miguel smile back at him.
"Subtle, I like it." He nods. They round the corner to see Lee handing out forms to teens that were waiting outside. "It looks like we got some new students."
"Fresh fish." Hawk slaps Miguel's chest.
Lee looks back when she hears the guy who introduced himself as Chris, pats his friend Mitch. "It's the champ." He pointed at Miguel.
"Hey guys," Lee smiled.
"Hey, Lee." Miguel smiled.
"Hey, babe." Hawk pulled her into a kiss that was longer than necessary to have in front of others. Miguel rolled his eyes, noticing he did that whatever he felt the need to claim her in front of someone. He pulled away to glare at the new faces. "Mouth-breathers, move it."
"Sorry about that." Mitch moves out of the way.
"I'll get the door." Chris opens it. Lee stares in amazement at how happy they were to be in the presence of the top guys of Cobra Kai that they didn't care that they were being treated like crap. "So, you guys want to be Cobra Kai?" Hawks raise his fist as he launches forward. They flinched, making Miguel and Hawk laugh. "You got a long road ahead of you."
The boys laughed as they walked in. Hawk pulled Lee along by their joined hands. "You enjoy that too much." She shook her head.
"Not more than I enjoy you." He winks. Miguel laughed at the corny display.
"Woah, what happened here?" They looked at the broken mirror and fire burns on the wall.
"Money that didn't need to be spent." Lee grumbles.
"Quiet!" Johnny yelled to get the room's attention. "The dojo is closed to new students today."
"We wanted to sign up after we saw the tournament," Chris told him.
"Do I need to say it again? Get Out!" Sensei yelled.
"Yes sir… sensei." Mitch led them out.
"Come back tomorrow, bring your checkbooks." He yells after them.
"Bring the filled-out forms." Lee yells.
"Everyone, fall in." He walks to the front. Everyone got in line, while Lee moved to the side.
"Must've been a rager, Sensei." Hawk smiled, proud that the old man still had it.
"Were you celebrating all weekend?" Miguel was glad that his win did that for him.
"Celebrating what? My students are a bunch of pussies." He said, making them look at each other in confusion. "Diaz, Hawk upfront." He nods for them to move it. They did what they were told. "Hawk. Did you attack your opponent when his back was turned?"
"Yes, Sensei." Hawk answers. He was confused about what the problem was. Johnny taught him to not take shit from anyone.
"Diaz, did you purposely attack your opponent's injury?" Johnny stood in front of Miguel.
"Yes, Sensei." He answers with no hesitance.
"You think that makes you badass?" They looked at each other confused at where this was coming from. "What's the matter, is the question too tough? Maybe you need some help. Moneypenny!" He turned to the girl the boys respected. "Two cobras in the jungle, one kills the strongest lion and the other kills a crippled monkey. Which Corba do you want to be?"
"The one that killed the crippled monkey, because the one that killed the lion is going to die when it tries to eat it." She felt the need to defend her answer when she saw the look she was getting. "If I was a snake in the jungle I'm not wasting my energy to kill something I can't eat. On top of all that, I'm not going to run into a lion because they don't live in the jungle. The big cat in your question should be a tiger."
Johnny sighs, seeing he was getting nowhere with her. "Miss Robinson."
"The one that kills the lion… or tiger, Sensei." Aisha answers.
"And why is that?" He asks.
"Because it killed the stronger animal." She said slowly, seeing where he was going with this.
"Correct." He yelled. "Cobra Kai is about being badass. And the baddest badass is the one who beats his opponent when he's at his strongest. Not when his back is turned." He yelled in Hawk's face. "Not when he's injured." He yelled at Miguel. "Is that understood?" He turned to address the class.
"Yes, Sensei!" They yelled.
"That means no more cheating. No more fighting dirty. From here on out, those are pussy moves and you don't want to be pussies, do you?" He paces in front of them.
"No, Sensei." They answered
"Good, that's why I had you wear your white belts. We're starting over. Diaz, Hawk, 50 push up on your knuckles. Miss Robinson, warm them up." He went into the office.
Lee was on his tail. She closes the door before confronting him. "Why could you take that win from Miguel, Sensei? "
"You think what they did was okay?" He sat down in the chair.
"Hawk, no. It was uncalled for and frankly, it was selfish. Cobra Kai could have taken first and second if it wasn't for him. He deserves whatever punishment you give him. But, Miguel was doing what you taught. You're the one that taught us no mercy and now you're punishing him because he didn't show mercy." She didn't understand why he was flipping the script on them.
"That was my mistake. I should have taught you guys honor." He could see now that he was creating monsters.
"Who is Robby to you, Sensei?" She remembers how Johnny checked on him and didn't scold Hawk as he should have.
"What?" He was shocked that she was connecting the dots so fast.
"I saw you check on him and try to talk to him more than once. The way he looked at you as if you had wronged him." She glares.
"You're imagining things." He couldn't meet her eyes.
"It's funny you only scold them for what they did to him. Not Aisha for running off after she lost like a spoiled brat. That is the most un-badass thing ever. Or Virgin, who won his second match the same way you scold Miguel for. He attacks an injury that his opponent got from the first round." She pointed out.
"You're right. I laser in on Hawk and Miguel because they're my most promising. But, I have to correct everyone if I want them to change." He walked out to yell at Aisha and Virgin. Lee sighed, not getting the answers she wanted.
"What do you mean you're not coming over?" Hawk complains.
"I looked it up and I'm not interested." She didn't want to watch an arm-wrestling movie. Johnny wanted them to watch Over The Top, so everyone agreed to watch it at Hawk's house.
"Come on, you're Cobra Kia, we have to suffer together." Miguel held the door up for them before walking out of the dojo himself.
"You might be the mascot, but you still have to come along." Hawk teased.
"I am not a mascot, you jerk." She pushes his arm off her shoulders. "Besides I told Moon I would go to her slumpy party."
"What? Like you and her, alone?" Hawk's face dropped. Miguel was so distracted by their drama that he didn't see his ex driving away when Aisha rejected her invitation to hang out.
"No, there are going to be other girls there." She wasn't going to name the list because Sam was maybe going to come.
"Text me." He demands.
"Only if you invite Demetri to come over." She wanted them to hang out like they used to.
"Deal." He took out his phone to text his childhood friend.
Lee was sitting between Moon's legs. She had her hands in Lee's hair as she braided it. "I love your hair. The natural blonde highlight. When the sun hits it, it looks golden." She gushes.
"We didn't come over to watch you love on your girlfriend." Yasmine whines.
"We came over to have a fun time with no bittiness." Sam reminds her. Yasmine scoffs.
"We can do the face mask while we watch Legally Blonde." Lee got up when Moon was done. She grabbed the clay mask she brought with her.
Moon press plays on the movie while the girls put on their masks. When the buzzer ding, they wipe the cream off. "This is amazing where you get it." Yasmine grabs the container. "What is this?" She squinted at the words that were not English.
"It's French, my mom ships it to me. She works over there." She explains.
"It must be hard to have her so far away." The longest Sam has been away from her parents is when she went to a science camp for a month with Aisha.
"It has always been like that, so it is not a big deal. She works at the Hotel Donatella. She helps set up the new ones or the ones in trouble. She moves every few years. It's neat every summer for two weeks I get to visit her. Last year, I got to go to Japan." She told them.
"My dad loves vacationing there." Sam wondered if their time there was different. The girls exchange stories.
"So, this year you'll be going to France, amazing." Yasmine couldn't believe she was feeling jealous of this nerd.
"She's more like a cool older sister than a mom, so it's a lot of fun." She smiled.
"I'm so glad everyone is getting along." Moon hugs Lee's arm to her chest.
