Harry appeared above New York city the moment other Harry apparated away to go back in time. He crossed his sword and wand before him while his wings kept him from falling.

"Piertotum Locomotor!" He yelled while unleashing a wave of magic through the city.

The statues in many squares and parks came to life. Stone gargoyles, knights, and depictions of people that were carved into buildings awoke and jumped down to the street.

"The city of New York has come under attack, fight and defend your home from those who would claim it!" Harry yelled to those his spell had awoken.

Several Chitari flying vessels were coming his way. With a slash of his sword, a line of sharpened ice flew out in an arc.

Harry flew past them and continued forward.

A flying worm had just rammed into a building, causing the upper levels to topple. Instead of letting it fall, the wizard stretched out both his sword and wand aim at the stone and glass. With a grunt he forced his will on the material. Reshaping it into a 100-meter-long stone spear.

He threw his arms towards the flying worm and the spear pierce straight through it. Harry was able to dispatch three more worms before he felt the transfiguration start to unravel. With his last attack he drove the spear through the center of a worm and let it pin the beast to the ground before the materials reverted.

He landed on the street but ahead were thousands of Chitari running his way while even more clung to the sides of buildings and traversed across the walls. Driving his sword into the ground, Harry rested a hand on the pommel while he connected to the elements in the area.

While softly chanting the words, he slowly spun the tip of his wand as the air whipped through the street.

As the nearest Chitari were closing in, they felt themselves start to be pulled back. A tornado several hundred meters tall had formed in the center of their charging army.

The creatures were ripped from the walls and plucked from the street as they were sucked inside. The flying crafts tried to veer away but it was too little too late.

Harry noticed a car on fire nearby, with a wave of his wand the fire was sucked away and condensed into a small ball that floated at the tip of his wand.

Taking a deep breath, he moved the ball to his mouth and breathed into it.

A torrent of flames launched towards the tornado. But these magical flames weren't extinguished by the punishing winds. They thrived in the spiraling air as the tornado turned into a firestorm.

With the street now deserted, Harry released his sword and pointed his wand to his palm. The fire storm began to be reshaped as it compressed into a sphere. With a dangerous glint in his eyes, Harry befouled the very nature of the fire before pushing out.

The large sphere transformed into an enormous griffon made of fiendfyre. Focusing all his might, the beast of flames was forced towards the portal, incinerating everything in its path. Thor quickly flew out of the way as the griffon breached into the other world where Harry released his control over it.

For the next hour Harry cut his way through the Chitari while unleashing hell upon them. He was fairly sure he used at least a dozen spell that would have had him thrown into jail had it not been a state of emergency.

When he was starting to run low on energy a massive roar echoed through the city.

"Loki tried to take on the Hulk and lost. He has the scepter." Furry said. "Natasha can use it to close the portal but a Nuke his heading towards the city."

Harry looked up and saw Tony moving towards the nuke like he was going to force it through the portal.

Harry apparated before him and overpowered a transfiguration. Before the nuke even had a chance to detonate, it had become a baseball.

Harry quickly carved a few runes to stop it from reverting while Natash closed the portal.

When the hole in the sky closed, the Chitari suddenly fell to the ground, lifeless, as if they were puppets whose strings had been cut.

Tony was talking to Harry, but the wizard disappeared without a word.

Harry appeared on Stark tower next to Natasha who was still holding the scepter.

"Give it here." Harry said as he stretched out his hand.

Natasha eyed him and then the scepter before taking a step back.

Harry wasn't playing games, before she could make a decision she was stunned.

The strung-out scientist next to the portal device suddenly squawked as he backed away.

"You're… you're with Loki."

"No." Harry said while pulling out a heavily enchanted trunk. "The scepter can control minds, no feel it worse than those who hold it." Harry said as he placed it in the trunk and locked it tight while casting several charms and wards over the thing. He then shrunk the trunk and pocketed it away.

With a flick of his wand, Natasha woke up.

"You good?" Harry asked.

She nodded and got to her feet.

Gander stopped circling the building and shrunk before diving into a pouch and passing out. The Occamy was injured but nothing that would heal naturally in a few days' time.

Thor and Iron Man landed on the rooftop after bringing Barton and Steve with them. The group walked into the tower where the found the Hulk glaring at Loki who was stuck in the ground while black and blue. But thankfully the god's eyes were green.

Before he could say anything further, a series of stunners hit the man and he was out.

When he slumped unconscious, the Hulk transformed back into Bruce.

The others collapsed into the damaged furniture. Thor was keeping close watch over his brother while Tony and Bruce were talking about how to build a device with the tesseract that would get both brothers off planet as quickly as possible.

Harry silenced himself as he felt his mirror start to vibrate.

"Potter."

"Sinclair."

"This was not how imagine things would work out. But I believe it did work out. We have succeeded."

"Not yet." Harry said with a sigh as he turned his mirror towards the city. "All I have done is show them that I am capable of just as much death and destruction as Loki. There is still work to do."

Harry pulled out his sword and retrieve his wand from the hilt before returning the blade to its hidden resting spot.

With a reach into his bag he pulled out a pair of pepper-up potions and chugged them at the same time.

He felt the tiredness leave his body but he knew he would suffer for it tomorrow.

Without bothering to address the others, he leapt off the building, grabbed his broom and then flew towards the area directly beneath where the portal had been located.

Harry began to weave his wands as rubble and debris began to rise from the streets and fit back into the buildings. Shattered glass floated into the air before fitting into windows and becoming solid again.

The process was slow, but buildings were slowly being restored.

With the help of the elves he didn't have to worry about any people trapped under rubble or collapsed buildings. They had done a wonderful job of evacuating those who were in danger.

Speaking of the elves, one by one, balls of light floated towards him. They bounced around the buildings he was repairing causing the speed to multiply with every ball of light that floated over.

The night had come and was about to depart with the rising of the sun when most of the damage had been repaired.

Thousands of motes of light bounced around Harry as they waited to be pointed in the direction of more work.

"Thank you my friends, that will be enough." Harry whispered to them.

The motes of light fizzled out as the runic talismans were shut down.

Harry apparated away and appeared before the Gringotts bank in Nilla square. As he approached the doors to the bank they burst open as a grinning Gedon walked through.

The clan leader approached Harry while another goblin carried the master mirror and focused it on the pair.

"Gedon." Harry said while giving the man a tired nod.

"Grand Imperator Potter." The goblin said while giving Harry a full and deep bow. That really surprised the wizard. "I assume you wish to speak to the people."

"Yes." Harry said.

"The mirror is still on active standby mood."

Harry turned to the mirror and stepped directly in front of it while the light from the sunrise bathed his grime covered face.

"People of New York. The threat has been dealt with. I would ask that you stay home today as many repairs need to be made and I am sure the hospitals are filled beyond capacity. I thank everyone who offered help in this trying time. Please have patience as your officials will have much to do over the next few days."

Harry placed his wand over his heart.

"I, Grand Imperator Potter declare Marshal Law to be over. So mote it be."

*Flash*

"That will be all." Harry said as he reached out and deactivated the mirror before storing it away.

Gedon nodded. "Please contact me when you have more time."

Harry nodded and then apparated away. He landed in his bathroom and tossed himself into the tub while spelling away his clothes. He waited for a few minutes and then moved to turn on the water himself. He leaned over the tub and found Dobby face down on the floor snoring. It seemed like the little elf was just as tired as he was, maybe more.

Harry flicked his wand a few times as the water went into overdrive and scrubbed him clean. It wasn't gentle but it was quick and used little magic.

He then did the same to Dobby before levitating the elf onto a couch. Harry crawled into bed and spelled his curtains closed. His eyes suddenly jerked opened. He summoned the shrunken chest that contained the scepter. He flicked his thumb and cast a spray of blood on it while muttering a charm.

He blood bound the trunk to him. He didn't want to take any chances of the thing getting away.

It was then that he was able to fall onto his pillow and drift to sleep.

When Harry woke the next day he found his wand and cast a Tempus spell. He had slept the whole day and it was now morning.

As he sat up in bed, Dobby popped in with a tray of food.

"Master Harry, sir, breakfast is ready."

Harry reached for a piece of toast and began to eat.

"How are you doing Dobby?"

"Dobby is great. But your mirror has been vibrating non-stop. Dobby had to answer and tell people that Master needs sleep."

"Thanks buddy."

Dobby nodded and popped out. Harry reached for the newspaper and skimmed through it. Predictably, most of the articles were about him and the attack. Thankfully the casualties in the magical world were very little. The hospitals had discharged all the non-magical already. They had been able to fix up the serious issues and left the minor things to the mundane healers.

His mirror that was placed on the try started to vibrate.

"Hello Har-bear."

"Hello Luna."

"How are you?"

"Tired."

"I imagine. But you should be happy to know that I will be coming back in a few days. I have decided to wrap up my trip early."

"That's great." Harry said with a smile that Luna returned.

"My guide is saying we need to get going. I will call you when I am in the states."

"I can't wait."

Luna then blew a kiss to the mirror and deactivated the call.

Harry finished his meal and then proceeded to get dressed.

When he walked out of his room and downstairs, he found the twins having breakfast with Tony and Pepper.

"Harry! Your up." Tony was the first to spot him.

"Harrykins, it's good to see that you are awake."

"Any longer and we were going to test a new product on you."

Harry shook his head. "I don't even want to know." He said as he plopped down in a chair. "How is everything out there?"

Tony spoke first. "Loki is in custody of SHIELD while Thor sticks close. But without the staff he is a completely different person."

Pepper then took over. "The city is recovering, and they owe most of that thanks to you. Death was kept to a minimum and injuries are healing. People are happy to have their homes restored even if their possessions didn't make it."

"Then there are the people who aren't happy no matter what. But you should just ignore them." Tony said.

"To True." Fred cut in.

"Some people are upset with the ICW." George added.

"But who cares."

"To the magicals of New York you are a god."

"And the goblins are thrilled since they got to have a good fight."

Tony turned back to Harry. "Your business partners here were just explaining the wonders of time travel to me."

"It's got a bunch of rules that makes it difficult, but it can be helpful." Harry said.

Soon the twins and Tony were chattering about inventions while Pepper chipped in a bit.

Harry just slowly sipped the tea that Dobby had provided.

The twins had come to town to check up on Harry and man the store. With all of magical New York knowing he worked at Weasley Wizard Wheezes, the shop was packed and everything was selling like hot cakes.

Harry spent most of the day stuck in meetings with the ICW and MACUSA. Thankfully they weren't asses and let him call in from the comfort of his living room instead of making him come in.

MACUSA was not thrilled about have their authority temporarily taken away but understood that it was a matter of urgency. Once they complained enough they got over it. Or at least they stopped grumbling towards him.

It turned out that most of the ICW didn't realize what sort of power they were giving him when they declared him Grand Imperator. A few tried to get enough votes to open the issue of assigning him a different position but they didn't get enough momentum. While only a few knew ahead of time the power they were giving him. Most agreed that Harry acted in a manner fitting his position and agreed that if they would have had to meet and then vote on each of the commands he issued, it may have taken days or weeks to reach an agreement.

As evening came, Harry went back to Stark Tower with Tony and Pepper while the Twins were trying to keep production up with the orders they were receiving.

Harry looked around and fixed the place up with a few flicks of his wand. The others who he fought with were there, minus Thor. They were now calling themselves the Avengers.

The group was making plans for the future since Natasha had been outed as a spy along with Clint. Working for SHIELD wasn't so much of an option for them anymore. Harry contributed a bit and answered questions about the magical world but he was still worn out. He had taken a few pepper-up potions during the battle and a few afterwards. That, combined with the stupid bureaucratic meetings left him with little energy.

He left after setting up a meeting with Fury through Clint Barton. The director of SHIELD had informed him that Loki was asking for him. It was at that point that Harry realized he had never interrogated the man.

The next morning Harry flew out over the ocean. He knew the general location of the heli-carrier but didn't want to apparate in case it had moved.

Several agents were surprised when they saw a broom flying wizard land on the deck, but they weren't alarmed.

Fury led Harry to the holding cells. Loki was locked in a transparent cage while Thor sat outside.

"Well met Harry Potter." Thor said while slapping his lager hand on the wizard's back. "Your feats during the battle will resound through the Asgardian halls once my brother and I return."

"I am glad we were all able to come out of it intact." Harry said and then turned to Loki. "I heard you wished to speak to me."

"I believe I owe thanks to you. I am told you are the one who recognized that my actions were not my own."

"You're welcome." Harry said as he conjured himself a chair and one for Loki in his empty cell. He motioned for the Asgardian to take a seat with him.

"I must say, your magic truly fascinates me." Loki said.

Harry smiled. "I find it fascinating myself. But I am more interested in knowing where you were able to get your hands on the scepter."

Loki paled. "I do not know. I know that it was forced upon me by someone, but I cannot remember."

"What do you remember?"

Loki closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I was falling. Falling and falling and falling. The Bifrost had just shattered, and I was plummet through darkness outside time and space. My body was boiling with rage. I wanted revenge. I wanted to make those who hurt me suffer. And then a large purple hand grabbed me. After that, I was a slave to my emotions. I wanted to make everyone feel the hurt I did." Loki shook his head. "I wasn't even turning my anger on the ones who hurt me. No, I was turning to unrelated people. For that, I am sorry. I do not know who handed me the scepter."

Harry nodded, he had subtly stepped into Loki's mind and confirmed the man's story. Or the story that matched the memories he had.

"Okay, I believe you."

"Just like that?" Loki asked surprised.

Harry shrugged. "What? Do you want me to tie you up and torture you or something? Explore your kinks on your own time."

Loki barked out a laugh while Thor looked appalled.

The God of Thunder turned to Harry. "Tony Stark told me you have potion that commands truth. Couldn't you use that instead of torturing my brother."

With that both Loki and Harry gasped. Then Loki looked at Harry. The god has gasped because he had no idea that something like that existed, he was surprised to find the wizard gasping.

Harry shook his head. "You would have me, give truth serum, to the God of Lies. What if that made the whole universe explode?" Loki stifled a chuckle. He was finding himself enjoying the company of this seidhr. "But it's not necessary, I have my own ways of finding the truth, and that is what your brother spoke. Well… at least it was what he believed to be the truth."

"It would seem that your kind has made many advances, and it appears that I was wrong about you being the last of them." Loki said.

Harry nodded. "Dues to wars, our people live separately. The mundane world isn't aware of our existence. To them, I am the only wizard. To my kind, I am there… champion. I guess that would be the best way to phrase it."

"There are more who can do what you can?" Thor asked surprised.

"No, there are none who can do what I can. Perhaps some can do some of it. But I am their champion for a reason."

"Good, good, I would not like to have to face an army with the abilities you displayed yesterday." Thor said.

"Oh." Harry said with a smirk. "You are planning to face my kind since Loki's invasion had failed?"

Thor coughed. "That is not what I meant."

Harry side-eyed Loki with a mischievous glance. "I don't know, sounds like you're fishing for information on what my side is capable of."

Loki then chimed in. "Thor was the first one to visit Midgard in recent times. Perhaps it was some sort of scouting mission?"

"What! Brother you know that's not the truth."

Harry looked Thor up and down. "You know his hands are rather large, maybe in the right lighting they might appear purple."

Thor was now sputtering while Loki spoke. "Perhaps he realized he would not be able to take Midgard on his own, so he tricked me into leading an army to pave the way, only his plan failed when the army was defeated."

"No, this is nonsense, on my honor I have sworn to protect Midgard."

Harry took over from there and turned to Loki and gave him a look like he was a professor about to explain to a student. "And that was why he needed you and the army. Once you come in, Thor will swoop in and save the day. This way he has not broken his vow and has also greatly elevated his status. Compared to last week, Earth now sees him as a warrior of justice and a leader they can rely on."

"Oh, my brother, I never knew you could be so devious. In a single battle you have turned yourself into a Hero while I am now a villain."

"Ha, ha, ha." Harry couldn't help but laugh at Thor's shocked face. "Come on man, we are just having a laugh."

Loki chuckled while Thor's cheeks pinked in embarrassment. He had gotten a bit caught up in it and believed they saw him as some kind of evil mastermind. But Thor was always one to get over himself quickly and let out a large booming laugh. It had been such a long time since he had seen his brother Loki truly enjoy himself like he was when he chatted with the Seidhr.

Harry and Loki spent the next few hours talking about magic and its applications. Thor wasn't able to contribute much in that aspect but he had plenty of good stories to share. And both brothers were cooing over Gander when he was introduced.

By the time evening came, Harry decided to go. He promised to be there when the brothers would depart on their journey home.
