"Okay, I call the Future Farmers of Hollywood Arts to order." Beck said, tapping his gavel to bring the formal part of the meeting together. "If the secretary will read the minutes from the last meeting, we can proceed."
"Kay Kay" Cat said before she turned her notebook back a few pages, and proceeded to read. Moments passes in silence as she finished up. "Done."
"Out loud." Beck tried again.
"Every time." One of the others groaned. Eyes shifted to glare, four pairs, as the officers of the club silenced the protest with their will alone.
"We agreed that setting Jade and Tori up was indeed the goal of the club, that Andre was responsible for raising the chickens we bought, since his grandmother actually takes care of them, and that Andre and I would take on the responsibilities of finding out if either Tori or Jade even were interested in girls." Cat summarized.
"And I was present." Robbie added.
"Which brings us to the report from the observation committee." Beck noted, nodding towards Rob. "What do you have to report?"
"Jade's scary, and Tori is being introduced to all kinds of famous people." Robbie said. "Um, Sinjin?"
"Mason Thornesmith has been doing his best to continue to keep Tori famous adjacent in his move to build on her Platinum Music Awards performance, that thing that happened LAST YEAR, and yet it's almost as if people forgot all about it. Anyways, his current efforts are having her photographed with some celebrities, starting lower level, and building up. Those photo's are then placed on social media, mostly by the other celebs, and Tori's name gets tagged. This will keep her fresh, even as she finished school and that album we're not supposed to know she's working on."
"It's going slow." Andre added.
"Okay, wasn't planning on such an abrupt shift, not without questions for the spying committee, but given we're here, might as well get the report from out Tori information expert." Beck said, shifting the focus to Andre.
"I wasn't gonna go and ask her, cause while she's my girl, in that platonic, friendship kinda way, we're not that close." Dre started. "I mean, sure, she's known about all my love interests, but given her track record, and mine, it's usually best if she doesn't come to me for advice."
"So you failed?" Robbie asked.
"I subcontracted the assignment." Andre corrected. "I asked Trina to do it."
"And why would you bring someone not in the club into club business?' The faculty advisor, Sikowitz, asked. "I mean, Great Gandi, we went ahead and created this club just to get those two together, to save the male and female population of this school from the inevitable trauma of a single Jade getting frustrated at Tori's renewed movement towards success, not to mention protect Tori from the users and abusers of the world. Hell, we even got mister Thornesmiths blessing, as long as we did the heavy lifting, and made sure it was an agreeable match for all involved." He paused. "Um you have a question?"
A shy freshman had been sitting towards the back, his hand raised since the early reports. "Um, isn't this a club for future farmers?"
"My god, there's actually someone at THIS school who wants to be a farmer?" Gasped Sherry. "I was so sure we'd only get members of the conspiracy. I mean, I practically had to show Dre my tits just to get him to agree to tending those chic's we bought. You know, the one's we acquired as a distraction, cover in the event that one of our targets started to suspect something." A dark smile crossed her face. "Was gonna offer to hug Robbie, but he doesn't have the space. That, plus our club secretary threatened me, with her eyes, and I agreed to let things be with them."
Eyes turned to Cat. "What? I haven't decided if I want him or not, so I felt it best to keep female predators away." She shrugged. "Besides, isn't she with Beck now?'
"I'm not dating her." Beck assured the redhead. "We agreed I'd stay single until we hooked Jade up. You remember, that big plan we came up with in order to protect the female population of the school."
"So you're not getting back with Jade?" Cat asked, giving her best doe eyes.
Robbie took point. "Cat, we're in a club dedicated to hooking her and Tori up. You agreed."
"Yes, if we couldn't get her back with Beck, I agreed it's better she be with Tori then anyone else." The redhead pushed forward after a moment. "Jade doesn't love the gender, but the person. Sure, she can be shallow, but that's because it's so had for her to love. Once that's done, she loves hard, and that's her biggest problem. Bad parenting aside, Jade's just built that way. No judgment, no shame, just understanding. I'm lucky in that she loves me like a sister, and I'm totally not into chicks, or I'd have snagged Sherry there to protect Rob from her C cup machinations." A brief smile. "Um, what was I saying?"
"You did your job, and we know that Jade can love Tori." Beck interpreted.
"No, I did my job, and Jade will have a hard time loving most people, so if she's not with you, Beck, then Tori is her best shot at happiness." Cat clarified. "And since I want my non-sexual almost sister to be happy, I agreed to set her up with Tori, even though it means she's never gonna get back with you Beck, cause those two both lead to end game."
Sherry turned to the newcomer. "Cat thinks that, in a few years, Tori and Jade will wind up married and probably start a family."
"I got that." The freshman said. "It's just, I thought I was gonna learn about farming."
"You wanna help me with that?" Andre asked. "I could use the help, since the farming committee is just me and my grandmother, who for some reason is loving doing it. I mean, who knew?"
"Can we get back on point." Beck asked. "Dre, what did you mean you subcontracted?"
Chuckling, the musician answered. "I farmed it out." He smirked, but there were not laughs. "Okay, no way I was gonna find out my assigned task, so I asked the one person who I knew could find out, Trina."
The room reacted with "What?" and "Really?" and "She'll tell Tori." and of course Sikowitz, the advisor, who just shrugged and said "Good choice."
All eyes ere now on the faculty advisor. "I mean, it was obvious. She is Tori's sister, and has the most raw knowledge of any of us. So, what did Trina find out?"
"I thought you were against bringing someone else into the conspiracy?" Robbie noted.
"I've had time to mull it over, and changed my mind." The teacher said. "So, Andre..."
Andre leaned forward. "She told me that she'd been reading Tori's Diary, and not the decoy one she keeps for Jade, cause we know that girl snoops. Anyways, she'd been reading, and found more then one fantasy that wasn't too hard to decipher."
"Tori is interested in Jade." Cat finished. "See, that wasn't that hard. Just give the basic report, no sidetracks, just the facts." Brown eyes held him for a moment. "Now, we know their both interested, and we have out big dance coming up in what?" She glanced at her notes.
"A month and a half." Sikowitz said. "The Future Farmers Sadie Hawkins dance is scheduled for about a month and a half from now. Plenty of time to get those to together."
"So, why a farming club?" The freshman asked.
"Cause it was the one thing we were fairly sure neither girl would be interested in joining." Beck said. "Now, onto new business. How the holy hell do we get them together?"
"Love potion?" Cat suggested.
"Been pricing them." Robbie said, flipping files on his Pearpad. "Found out those usually don't work, and the ones that might, not affordable. So whats out next option?"
"Has anyone considered just talking to them?" The freshman asked.
"Okay, someone please give the newcomer the Jade briefing." Beck said. "And as for the rest of us, lets think how do we trick them into dating, cause Jade, how she'd been acting, she's gonna need to be tricked into being happy."
"Plus, Tori, she's pretty scarred from trying to get close to that girl." Andre added.
"So we have a month and a half to plot to his out…" Their voices faded as they broke into small groups and started brainstorming. The freshman was taken aside by Sikowitz.
"Okay you should have had this briefing as part of your orientation." He sighed.
"I thought they were joking." The youngster admitted. "She's that bad?"
"Lets just say, welcome to the Future Farmers of Hollywood Arts, our last, best hope of avoiding Jade west snapping and killing someone." He smiled. "Best case scenario, and it's not that good, she just ends herself. Worst, girls has a lot of things that bug her, and she may decided, she's dying anyways, why not clear a few of them out. You don't wanna be caught in the crossfire if that happens."
"I guess, she could get a gun…" The new recruit stammered.
"Jade is a Supervillain in training." The teacher said, using descriptive terms to help illustrate his point. "I have no idea what kind of death trap her dark, twisted mind is capable of conceiving, and we're the one's who taught her how to build this chiz, so…" His voice faded.
"Yea, glad to be in the club." The young man announced. "So, how do we get them to date?"
"Got me." Sikowitz said, gesturing back towards the meeting. "I've been trying for almost two years."
